The Healing Power of Medicinal Mushrooms

Transcript of a March 2019 live presentation by Sachin Patel (founder, Living Proof Institute) surveying medicinal mushrooms: biology (mycelium, spores, fruiting bodies), ecology (detoxification, mycelial 'Wood Wide Web'), and therapeutic uses. Patel highlights five legal species—turkey tail, cordyceps, chaga, lion's mane, and reishi—describing proposed benefits (immune support, adjunctive use during chemotherapy, antiviral/anticancer claims for turkey tail and chaga, energy/endurance for cordyceps, neuroregenerative claims for lion's mane, and broad 'rest-and-digest' / detox / circulation / metabolic effects for reishi). Presentation mixes scientific references (PubMed, a cited NIH-funded turkey-tail breast-cancer study), case anecdotes (Paul Stamets' mother, audience members reporting symptom improvements), product and dosing remarks (spore vs mycelium vs fruiting body; Organo/Host Defense products), recipes and daily-use tips, and practical guidance on sourcing and preparation.

Good morning. How is everyone? Let's try that again, guys and gals. Good morning. How is everyone?
Fantastic.
Okay, that's more like it. Thanks for being here today. Today we're going to be talking about something that I think is extremely powerful, extremely timely, and has the potential to change your life. So pay attention, take lots of notes, okay? You'll probably have a lot more questions, as I did when I first started studying this subject. So today we're going to be talking about medicinal mushrooms. We'll be talking about some legal medicinal mushrooms, and we'll talk about one that's illegal. It's not in your coffee, in case you're wondering. But we'll talk about the power of it because it's showing some extreme promise in helping us heal. My name is Sachin Patel, and I'm the founder of the Living Proof Institute, which is located here in Mississauga. We also have a location in Cincinnati, and we're a functional medicine clinic that focuses and emphasizes on the importance of lifestyle. And what we believe is that the doctor of the future is the patient. And what we mean by that is that each and every one of you sitting here is really ultimately in charge of your own health. Would you agree with that? Okay, so the cool thing about that is that's actually a very empowering statement, because if you can be in control of your health, then you can change your existing reality, but you could also change your future, because our future is determined by our health. Healthy people make healthy decisions. Would you agree? And sometimes sick people make sick decisions. Would you agree? Okay. So part of getting people to make healthier decisions is actually getting them healthier in the first place. So one of the things that you're. I think everyone got a chance to enjoy some form of liquid upgrade in the form of either reishi infused tea or coffee, or even a latte or a mocha. So right now, what you're all doing unconsciously is you're elevating your spiritual potency. So reishi is a mushroom that's been used for thousands of years in China. It's revered as a national treasure, and it's something that was once reserved only for royalty. So today, you're being treated like royalty. Let that sink in for a minute and enjoy that amazing cup. It's really health in a cup, in my opinion. We're going to talk about some medicinal mushrooms today that are readily available. Some of you might be foragers and be able to identify some of these mushrooms in our environment. Some of these mushrooms are a little Bit challenging to find in Ontario, but if you know where to look, you might find them. Okay. Anyone here like to forage? Okay, a few people. Well, it's. Here's the thing. You can only get good at something by doing more and more of it, Right? So what's your favorite mushroom? Yes. Okay. All right. Psilocybin. Rocco, yours? Chaga. Okay, great. You like it in a T. Okay. Oh, the tincture. Yes. Anyone else want to share the favorite mushroom?
Porcini.
Porcini. All right. I love. Yeah. One of my favorites is enoki. And I've got a great soup recipe that I'm going to share in this presentation as well. Okay, everyone ready to get started? Okay, great. Exciting topic for me. So just to preface this, I started studying mushrooms just in the last year or so. So some of you might know that this rabbit hole goes pretty deep. And every day my mind is blown by the information. Now, I didn't want to wait until I became a world expert to then bring this information to my community because I believe I already know a lot that I can share and add value into your lives. Okay, so I'm going to preface this by saying that some of you here might actually know more about this than I do. So feel free to contribute to the conversation in some way, but also realize that there's. I've watched probably 100 hours of recordings and videos and information on this topic. Some of you may have seen hundreds or thousands of hours. Okay. The rabbit hole goes that deep, and it's really, really fascinating. So I'm super fascinated by this topic, and clearly you are as well, and that's why you're here. So let's all learn together how many of you are hearing me speak for the first time? Okay. Couple people. Thanks for all of you that came back. So my name's Sachin. As I mentioned, I'm traditionally trained as a chiropractor. Grew up in Markham, moved to New York, did my studies there, and then I moved to Cincinnati and I lived there for about 10 years, and then I eventually moved back to Mississauga and started our second location here. So what I know is, based on my experience is very different than what most traditional chiropractors might know. If in the United States, chiropractors are able to order a lot more testing than they are here, like blood work, MRIs, CT scans. So I came back to Ontario with all of this diagnostic knowledge, and what I realized is that very few people were actually using this knowledge and helping patients. So not only do I have a big Background in nutrition, in lifestyle, in exercise and movement. I used to work with elite athletes, but several Olympic athletes win silvers and golds at the Olympics. So I know what it's like for people to perform at that level. And I also know what it's like for people to be kind of at the very bottom of their health and help them feel better. But here's what I realized. The same things that it takes to make an elite athlete feel better is the same things that it takes an extremely unwell person to feel better. How about that? Athletes need sleep, athletes need good nutrition, and athletes need proper exposure to sunlight. Athletes need practice to get better at things on a daily basis. So the principles we applied at the highest levels of physical achievement are the same principles we can apply at people who have poor health or dysfunctional health. And we can get all of those people better. Our current healthcare system is great, but there's nothing in it that actually makes you healthier, right? Like, I can't. There's no body part I can remove from you to make you healthier, and there's no medication I can give you to make you healthier. I can remove your symptoms, right? I can replace body parts. I can, you know, get rid of the headache or get rid of the pain. And it's. I'm super glad that we have these technologies available to us, but there's nothing there that actually makes you healthier. Would you guys agree with that? Right? And here's the thing all pharmaceutical companies try to do is emulate nature. And the reason they have to create drugs the way they do is because we don't allow them to patent nature. If we allowed pharmaceutical companies to patent plants and funguses and all the things that we see outside in this beautiful world, that's what they would be doing, because that's what actually works. Drugs destroy people's lives. They can help you in an acute situation, they can help you through a bad time you're going through, but they don't make you healthy. So what I started to do is I started to turn to nature to find the answer is because how does nature heal? Right? How does this planet heal from everything that we've done to it? Right? It has the same processes that we do. It's got a detoxification system, it's got a respiratory system, it's got an electromagnetic field that it creates just like each and every one of you do. It's got a nervous system that wraps around the entire planet, which is something we're going to talk about today. Okay? So we are essentially living planets, aren't we? We are galaxies. We are our own little universes inside of us. You have a hundred trillions. You have a hundred trillion cells in your body, right? There's something that's keeping all that magic working, isn't there? Right? It's not by coincidence. Okay? So what I realized a long time ago is that if I am a universe and the Earth abides by the same principles that my body does, that my cells do, then I don't have to look inside to find answers. I can look outside to find answers. Right? Because the same things that are going on in here are happening at a different scale that I can visualize. Does that make sense to everyone? Okay, so that's why when you study nature like I have, and you all can, it's all in plain sight for us to see. You start to see patterns. Okay? So what I want you to do is I want you to understand how your brain works. Your brain does. Your brain works in patterns. It works with association, okay? So when you remember something, there's an association with that memory, and that's how your brain has locked it in. Does that make sense? That's why stories are really important to share, because stories help the brain wire a little bit differently. And so nature has this beautiful story to share with us. And one of those stories is in the form of mushrooms. They've been around our entire lives. They've been under our feet this entire time. They've been in the forest when we've been hiking. So this is not new. They've been around long before us. In fact, some of the stuff you're going to learn today is going to blow your mind. But I do believe that the only way we can get the right answers in life is if we ask the right questions. Is that true? Because the answers are always available to us, aren't they? But if we don't ask the question and we don't pay attention, then we miss the answer. Does that make sense? So I want to start today by showing you this really cool video. I found this extremely fascinating, and some of you maybe even seen it if you follow me on Facebook. But I could watch this a million times. So I'm sure you can as well. So I want to. Actually, I don't even need to preface it. I'm just going to share it and we can all watch together. Okay?
Mark is recreating an experiment he worked on with colleagues at Tokyo University. Mark is recreating an experiment he worked on with colleagues at Tokyo University. He takes a blob of slime mold and then surrounds it with a pattern of oak blades, an irresistible treat to the slime mold. What happens next is recorded by a time lapse camera. The slime mold locates the old flakes by growing out in all directions. But within hours, the slime mold shrinks back, leaving an intricate web of tubes that connect the oak flakes. It's these tubes that transfer nutrients around the slime mold. Incredibly, everything you can see is part of one single cell.
It needs to build a network that's quite efficient to transport all those resources around at the same time. That network mustn't cost too much. It mustn't take up too many of its own resources. And then the other problem it has is it's. It's going to be subject to damage. So if there's only ever one connection, there's a risk that that would break.
The slime mold takes no chances. It grows backup routes to make sure that its food supply isn't cut off. But there's something even more extraordinary about what the slime mold has done. Mark hasn't just laid out the flakes in a random pattern.
The large blob in the middle is Tokyo.
Right.
And each of these food sources is positioned as one of the cities nearby.
Tokyo.
So it's a recreation of the area around Tokyo.
Indeed.
So this is actually what it's based on. This is the rail network around Tokyo. And we can superimpose that over. Okay, so we in a line that's identical.
It's absolutely identical.
So you see a lot of these connections. It's formed the same sort of links. It's got a few extra ones in as well. It's a slightly more resilient network that's. Than the ones that the engineers design.
You.
You're telling me, wait a minute. That this slime mold has built a better network?
A remarkably than the humans built? Yes.
The Tokyo rail system is one of the most efficient and well organized in the world. It took lots of skilled engineers using lots of brain power to plan it. Yet somehow slime old has achieved the same goal. How to efficiently link together multiple locations. Slime malt has also been put to work in other parts of the world. Here it tackles some of Britain's major motorways. And this is its take on the best routes around Spain. And here are some interesting alternatives to America's Route 66.
Pretty cool, right? So isn't the question everything? Right. If we just randomly saw that happening, we wouldn't think anything of It. But we asked the right question. When we put that map and superimposed that map underneath, we saw that it actually solved the problem. Right? A problem that probably costs probably hundreds of millions of dollars and lots of engineers and lots of brains to put together maybe years of time in order to do that. And it solved it in less than a day. So these little critters, if we want to call them that, are extremely intelligent. And so if they have intelligence to solve these type of problems, then, guess what? They might have intelligence to solve other problems. Fair enough. All right, so what are mushrooms? Let's just talk about that. So you guys have a basic understanding. Mushrooms belong to the fungal kingdom. If we look at the different kingdoms that are out there in biology, then they belong to the fungal kingdom. What's super fascinating to me is that mushrooms belong to the fungal kingdom, but the root kingdom of that is actually something called a Pislocanthus. And what's interesting about that is a Pistolacanthus split into Animalia and fungi, or fungi. So what that means is that we actually come from mushrooms. All the animals you see on this entire planet come from their lineage through the fungal kingdom. Mushrooms share about 50% of our DNA, so they harbor this intelligent life in them. So they share half of our DNA. Mushrooms are more animal than plant. We think of them as part of the plant kingdom, but they have their own kingdom. They're actually more human than they are like plants. They also are thousands, hundreds of thousands of different types of mushrooms, and I'm sure there's many that haven't even been discovered just yet. Some mushrooms can be poisonous, so you want to be careful. I don't eat anything that I find. I'd rather buy it, right? So I know what it is. But there's a few mushrooms that can be poisonous. And some mushrooms are medicinal. Many are medicinal, and they grow under the right conditions. That's important to note as well. And the reason you should know that is because if you like to forage or if you like to kind of be bewildered by them and see them, then you have to go at the right time. Okay? So usually they require moisture, which means that after it rains, you're more likely to see them pop up. Okay. Also, sunlight is important. Temperature drop and oxygen. And as you'll learn, there's different functions and why this makes sense. And mushroom foraging makes your hikes a lot more fun. Okay? I promise you it brings you into that moment because you're looking for something. You're not trapped in your head. So it allows you to be a lot more present when you're walking and when you know what to look for. If you know to look for things like tree stumps, this is an actual picture. This is here in Mississauga in my backyard. So you see that? This is a mushroom called turkey tail mushroom. And what's happening, what's really fascinating about this is these mushrooms have mycelium, which are little root networks that have basically taken over the inside of the tree. And when the conditions are right, they're going to turn that tree into medicine and dissolve it. How cool is that? So guess what it does in your body. It takes cells, like tumor or cancer cells, and it dissolves them in your body. And like I said, what happens in here, we can see outside. So that's exactly what's happening here. Silently. That dead stump is being transformed back into soil. And for us humans, the mushrooms are actually medicine for us. So it's taking the energy, all that stored energy in that tree and. And transforming it into its higher self. Right. Because it was a tree before, now it's actually medicine. And if a human being consumes it, then it becomes part of your human cell. So you can see how it works its way up the life chain. Does that make sense? Okay, so very, very fascinating to me. And guess what? This doesn't destroy. Like chemotherapy destroys everything, right? Right. So it would almost be like, if I wanted to get rid of this tree stump, I burned the entire forest. All right? That's what chemotherapy is. I light the entire forest on fire. So all the good trees die just to get rid of this stump. That doesn't make sense. Right. Nature would not do that. So what nature does is it mycellinates this tree, and then when it rains and the conditions are right, the mushrooms turn the tree into medicine. Guys, follow me. Pretty cool, right? That in and of itself should have made this trip worth it today. So very, very fascinating to me. What our mushrooms continued. They turn hydrocarbons into carbohydrates. So they're transformers. They're able to basically create chemical reactions that change things. That's why we can turn a tree into medicine, because we can change the molecular structure of it. Hydrocarbons. An example of hydrocarbons would be dying matter. And if we think about oil, what is oil? Oil is a concentration death, right? That's what oil is. It's just dinosaur bones and plant matter and all that stuff, all these hydrocarbons that we can use as a fuel. But what happens when oil spills in the ocean creates Problems. You could literally plant mushroom spores where oil spills occur, and they will turn that oil into mushrooms, okay? Because they transform things, right? They detoxify things. So imagine what it could do in your body. Super powerful stuff, guys. All right? Mushrooms can also be used as food and medicine, and they're highly ecologically friendly. That's why it's a very, very timely thing right now, right? We're trying to find more efficient sources of food. We're trying to find more efficient sources of nutrients. We're trying to find more efficient ways of doing things. And so if we work synergistically with nature, with a natural cycle and process of nature, then we've got this magical solution here. Some of the mushrooms have hallucinogenic properties, okay? As someone mentioned earlier, those mushrooms are called psilocybin mushrooms. That's the most popular mushroom. There are a few others that can cause that, like Anita Mascara, which is the famous smurf mushroom. Okay? So that mushroom can be hallucinogenic at certain dosages, but the most common one is psilocybin. Now, I'll talk about this a little bit because I think it's very relevant. A lot of the things that you're seeing that are trending right now, like lsd, even things like psilocybin mushrooms, these psychedelic medications, I look at them as medications because they actually fix people's brains. When we use them in human trials, they're actually getting rid of things like ptsd. They're getting rid of things like anxiety and depression in a single dose, okay? Not like, hey, take this for the rest of your life, and if you stop taking it, you're going to jump off a bridge, right? Like, we're talking complete transformation, right? So something that transforms nature can also transform. You see that pattern, right? It's all out there, right? Everything we see out there is happening inside us. So if we want something that's able to transform nature, if we put that inside us, it can transform us, okay? So very, very powerful psychedelic mushrooms can be used for therapeutic interventions, and they can be used ceremonially, okay? Help people heal past traumas, ptsd, depression and anxiety, okay? Right now, there's human trials that are taking place. Oregon in the United States will probably be the first state to actually legalize them for therapeutic use. So the times are changing, okay? Now, you might be wondering why this stuff is suppressed. And the reason it's suppressed is because it raises your consciousness. We can't have too many people operating at the highest states of human consciousness, right? That would not bode well, for the powers that be. You guys understand that, right? Like, we're supposed to be drones. We're supposed to be little worker bees and ants that go to work every day, right? So this is important for you guys to recognize that some of these, some of this I refer to as technology is suppressed from you and it's ridiculed and it's, you know, it's basically spoken about negatively in mainstream media because, you know, it's called television programming for a reason, right? It's called radio programming for a reason. Because they want you to think a certain way. They don't want you to elevate your consciousness. Okay? Now you can't buy psilocybin, but you can grow it. That's a free tip for you. You can buy the spores. Buying the spores is perfectly legal. Okay? All right, has anyone heard of the stoned ape theory? Anyone? Yeah, a couple people. Okay, so write down this name. Terrence and Dennis McKenna. Terrence has now passed away, but he's probably one of the most famous psychonauts, okay? And a psychonaut is somebody who is also an ethnobotanist. So he's somebody who studied plant medicines quite extensively, not just reading about them. Okay? So him and his brother came up with a theory called the stoned ape theory, and it actually makes sense and has been validated by many people. When you consume mushrooms like psilocybin mushroom, they actually. And if anyone has done it, you know what I'm talking about, they elevate your consciousness. And over hundreds and thousands and tens of thousands of years, our animal ancestors, specifically monkeys and primates, would come across these mushrooms as a food source, okay? And again, over hundreds and thousands of times, this happening, their consciousness would be risen. Okay? So to somebody who's experiencing full human consciousness, we're monkeys to them, we're mental monkeys. You guys realize that, right? If somebody's vibrational consciousness is up here and ours is down here, we're mental apes to them. Okay? Physically, we might have a human body, but there's a whole other layer up here that most people have never fully explored. Okay? So look at that. Look. That's a 10 hour, 20 hour rabbit hole. In some states, psilocybin mushrooms will soon be legal to use. So like I said, times are changing. And some people question, where do mushrooms come from? Are they from outer space or are they. Where do they come from? And it's still a mystery. We don't know. They've been around before. Anything else? So mushrooms are what actually turned our rocks the rock on our planet, it's what turned it into soil. It's what literally pull the minerals out of the rocks, crumble them, and turn them into soil. So without mushrooms, we wouldn't have plants. We wouldn't have any soil on this planet without mushrooms. In one little inch of soil, there's over 8,000 miles of mushroom networks. Just let that sink in for a minute. They cover the entire planet. So are they from outer space? I don't know. But we do know that the spores can survive in outer space. We do know that the spores can survive significant amounts of radiation as well. So if you go to Chernobyl or you go to any nuclear disaster site, there's mushrooms there. Okay. Because what do they do? They detoxify, right? They take bad situations, and they make them into good situations. If they can do that to a really bad situation, they can probably do it to a medium situation up here, right? Relatively speaking. Unless you've had a nuclear bomb and your brain go off emotionally, because that does happen to some people. It can even fix that. How about that? Pretty cool. Okay? And then here's what's really interesting. There's a species called prototaxites, and it's hundreds of millions of years ago, and this mushroom existed when mushrooms were the tallest thing on this planet. So if you go back 300 million years, mushrooms. When there was more oxygen on this planet, mushrooms would grow 40ft high. And we have skeletal remains or fossilized remains to show us this, to demonstrate this. Hey, Deeps, can you check if the feed is going? Yep. So this is what they used to look like. Imagine these big poles of mushrooms growing right now. How cool would that be? Right? And so what they were doing, they were transforming this barren land into a place where things, other things, could grow. Okay? So they make every environment they go in better. Fair enough. Pretty cool, right? Do you guys know all this stuff, or is this new to you? Who's learning something new? Okay, great. All right, so that's prototaxites. Let's look at the life cycle and anatomy of a mushroom. So mushrooms start off like this, and we don't know what came first, the spore or the mushroom. Right? So the chicken and the egg thing. So because you have to actually have a female and male spore for them to work together, okay. And then it creates a germination cycle. So this is the mycelial expansion that takes place. So just like a baby, if you ever look at how a fetus grows inside, right? It starts expanding, expanding, expanding. But it Stays contained, right? It stays in a contained space. Mushrooms don't stay contained. They're the opposite. So in some regards, they're similar to humans, but in some regards they're opposite because their job is to spread, okay? So they're going to create this, like, web, like expansion in every single direction. And so that's the mycelial network. The mycelium is under your feet. So when you go into a forest, if you're ever. And some of you might experience this, I know there's some of you that are experienced forest bathers in this room, but do you ever feel like the trees are watching you? Has anyone ever experienced that? Okay, they are. They know you're there, okay? They literally do. Because this mycelial network is actually underneath your feet, okay? It's like a rug that covers the entire surface of the forest. It actually wraps around pretty much the entire Earth, okay? So we call it the. We call it the original Internet, right? The Wood Wide Web is kind of what it's jokingly called. So. So this expands in every direction underneath you, several inches deep. In fact, the biggest species, the biggest living organism on the entire planet is a honey mushroom in Oregon. It's three feet deep, and I think it's like 3,000 acres big. So it's the biggest living organism on the planet. And so it's all of this. So this mycelial network runs throughout the forest. It's how the forest shares resources, it's how the forest shares information, it's how it communicates. It's how nutrients are dispersed amongst the trees. Okay, so in our television programming, right, what are we taught about nature? That nature is very cutthroat, it's very competitive. Aren't we taught that? Right? And the trees above, they choke out the trees below. Why would they do that? Do we do that? We don't choke out our babies, do we? We take resources from us and we share it with them, right? We do all the work, right? And we let them benefit from it so they can grow. Because eventually we're going to die, right? So these are principles of nature. The trees know that. So what the day, what they do is they communicate with each other using this fungal network, okay? So those tall trees are connected to the small trees and they share resources, okay? Just like we do with our children, okay? And then when the conditions are right, okay, like we talked about those four conditions. Moisture, sunlight, drop in temperature and oxygen. Oh, by the way, mushrooms breathe oxygen just like we do, okay? So plants, what do plants breathe? What do trees breathe carbon dioxide and they give us oxygen. Mushrooms just like us breathe in oxygen, which means that they're exposed and they have to worry about the same type of viral and bacterial threats as we do, which means they build defenses against bacteria and viruses just like we have to. That's why we can use them as medicine, because they already have that technology. So when the conditions are right, you're going to start seeing this fruiting body. So when we think of mushrooms, what do we mostly think of? We think of, you know, the three dimensional mushroom that we hold in our hand or we chop up and we put it on our pizza, right? Or the truffles that we eat. Like, we think of mushrooms and we think of the fruiting body. That's actually the most transient part of the mushroom that comes and goes, right? The mushroom might pop up and a few days later it's gone. Okay? So that's the fruiting body. And then when the body matures, what's really cool is that it starts to release spores. Now, each species of mushroom has a unique spore print. So if I were to take the cap off a mushroom and put it on a piece of paper, it would leave a unique fingerprint, a spore print. So that's how you can identify mushrooms through their spore print and identify the species. Like I said, I don't recommend eating anything you find in the forest. So I have that on tape. So don't say Satchin told me to do it. So they release tiny little spores and the spores are like the sperm, if you will. Okay. So it's the reproductive system of the mushroom and what it's designed to do, the spore, if you were to eat the mushroom, the spore goes right through you. Okay, and that makes sense because we don't want the spore to die in you. We want the spore to come out of you so that the spore can then grow in your poop, right? Create more mycelium and recycle it for you. Okay, so this is why you would find on, you know, on cow patties, you would find mushrooms growing. Okay, so that cow patty has mycelium in it. Conditions are right, mushroom blooms and that process continues. Okay? Mushroom spores can be found all the way up to the highest levels of the atmosphere. Okay. So what that means is that they can travel all over the world in the jet streams. Pretty cool, right? Pretty fascinating stuff. So they've, they've, they've everything we've tried to do. Flight, right? The Internet, right? You know, this Tokyo subway system. Healing the body. They've already figured it out long before we have. Right? Raising human consciousness. They've figured it all out. So we can either pretend we're smarter than them, which we clearly are not, or we can use them to heal us. Does that make sense? That fair to say? Okay, so do you see how this life cycle really emulates your life cycle? Right. It's kind of like how we work, right? So you have tiny little sperm, and then you have this branching architecture, but again, baby grows inside of you, right? When the condition is right, the baby comes out. And when the conditions are right, the baby populates or has children itself or the adult has children. So this is the life cycle of the mushroom. And so we see this part. This is just a few days in some cases, depending on where the mushroom is growing. If it's a gilled mushroom like we see here, it's usually just going to live for a couple days and then it disintegrates and it turns back into mycelium. Okay? If it's a polypore mushroom, which we see on trees sometimes, that can grow for years or months, I've got a big one like this at my house, and it's a red belted polypore, and it's probably, you know, probably 10, 15 years old. Some of them can get to be really old, hundreds of years old. All right, so again, when I talk about patterns, you know, Albert Einstein talked about this, that it's more important to recognize patterns than to know information. Because when you recognize patterns, then you know all the information, okay? Or you know a lot of the information. So I want to show you a pattern that I've recognized and many other people before me have recognized in nature. Again, everything's in plain sight. So if we look at the bottom right, does anyone know who hasn't seen this picture before? Does any. Can anyone comment on what this. Okay, so this is a picture, the most accurate picture we have of all the dark matter in the universe. Okay? So this is the most accurate picture we have of the universe. These are, you know, social networks on our planet. These are tree roots, okay, which look very similar to tree branches. These are plant roots. And this is a mycelial network, okay? And this is the human brain. Do you see how they all look pretty much the same, right? So there is this pattern in nature that is seen at every single scale in nature, from the biggest things all the way down to the smallest things. Okay, so what makes us. When you see this pattern, then you start asking yourself, okay, maybe I need to see how I fit into this pattern, right? How are the things that I do? How is, you know, how is what I spend my life influencing this network? Is it making this network better? Okay? Is it giving life to this network? Is it healing this network? You know, what is it doing? So when you realize the impact that you have. Because one person can impact so many different things, can't they? So many different things, so many different people around them. We don't live in isolation, we affect those around us. And so when I started looking at these networks, I started realizing that in my life I can't just work on one thing, right? You can't just work on one of these branches or one of these roots. You've got to work on all of them, right? So in order for the tree to grow, all the roots have to get nourishment. And so I use that in my life because I believe in developing all areas of my life, not just one, okay? So we have to develop ourselves physically, we have to develop ourselves emotionally, we have to develop ourselves consciously. So there's different layers of what it takes to be fully a human being that has the full human experience, not the physical experience, but the experience of full consciousness. And I'm still working on that. So I think we're all working towards that. But it's important to know that it's possible. Here's an interesting study that was done. And so these dots and colors represent and correspond to connection rich networks in the brain. So here's a normal brain, if there's any left on this planet, right? So there's a normal brain, and here's a brain on psilocybin. Which brain do you think is smarter? Which brain do you think probably has more empathy? Which brain do you think is better at problem solving? Which brain do you think is better at putting patterns together? Any guesses? Hyperconnected brain, right? By a little bit or a long shot? Okay, so now again, I'm not telling you to go out and do this stuff, right? But if you did, you could see that there's a whole nother layer to your brain that you're not accessing right now. Do you see that? Okay, so very powerful stuff. So you see greater communication across the whole brain after psilocybin, psychedelic experiences of sensory mix up. Tasting colors, feels, feeling, sounds, seeing smells. So everything is heightened. Your senses are heightened, right? What separates you from a log, right, is that you have senses and you have a brain. And that brain can think and it can interpret and it can create. So if that brain is operating at its highest potential. Could you imagine the world that you could create? Could you imagine the difference you could make on this planet if your brain was working like this? And could you imagine why people don't want you to have this power? All right, so what's trending in 2019? I'm always looking for trends because that's what smart entrepreneurs do. Right? And so what we see here is. This is from the Farmer's Almanacum, and I know I should have highlighted this, but we see that beverages made with reishi mushrooms are trending for 2019. How cool is that? This is a study in PubMed. If anyone is ever making any claims, which I won't make today, I'll make statements. Then you can always check them on pubmed, pubmed.gov, p u b m dash gov. This is where. This is where the United States stores all of its research articles. I went in there and I typed in the word ganoderma, which is the name for a reishi. And you can see that over time that there's a significant increase in the scientific literature and research that's going on about this particular fungus. They're accumulating data. And you know nothing about this data. I'm going to share some of it with you today. Right. But the scientists are gathering lots of information about these mushrooms. Okay. So there's some really amazing things that they can do for us. Hey, everyone, this is Sachin and I just wanted to share with you. Hey. The amazing research that's going on over the. What is that? How'd you do that? I'm everywhere. Oh, you know what it is? It's this video. It's. That video started like the Ghost in the Machine. Right? Okay. Now let's talk about five legal medicinal mushrooms. Number one is turkey tail. Okay. That's the picture that you see here. Turkey tail comes in various different colors. Isn't it beautiful? Yeah. And how many of you have seen turkey tail in person? It's pretty cool, right? It's like hypnotic. When you look at it, it looks alien, doesn't it? Right. It's like out of this world. So beautiful. Next one is cordyceps. I've got a really cool cordyceps video, Lion's mane, which I've got a fantastic picture with that one. Chaga, which many of you. That's your favorite, especially Rocky. And then Reishi, which is my personal favorite. We'll talk about that one last. So let's talk about some of the scientifically proven benefits of turkey tail. First. One is it can help to prevent and or treat the common cold or flu. Okay. So it boosts your immune function. It can offer support to those people who are undergoing chemotherapy as well. Do you guys want these slides? Okay, I'll share them with you. I just have to get your surveys back with a nice comment. Otherwise you don't get them. Right. That's fair. Right? All right. You can offer support to people who are on chemotherapy as an adjunct if they're undergoing chemotherapy with turkey tail. I've got a great story I'm going to share with you. Psk, which is a compound found in turkey tail, has been shown to strengthen the immune system. And from what I understand is that what it does is it creates an environment where the tumor exposes itself to the immune system or the cancer cell exposes itself to the immune system. And so our own immune system can attack it. Okay. Next thing it does is it aids in digestion. So these are carbohydrates, right? Hydrocarbons turn into carbohydrates. There's compounds called beta glucans. These are prebiotics for our gut bacteria, and that's found in there, too. And it can also help combat against breast cancer. I promise you that early screening for breast cancer doesn't prevent breast cancer. It detects it, it doesn't prevent it. So if that's our only strategy, then I think this is a much better strategy. All right, now check out this video. This is super powerful.
Another mushroom empowers the immune system. And this is turkey tails. And turkey tail mushrooms have also been used for more than a thousand years. NIH funded our group with a 2.1 million dollar breast cancer clinical study which has been recently completed. Now, this breast cancer clinical study.
Another.
Mushroom empowers the immune system. And this is turkey tails. And turkey tail mushrooms have also been used for more than a thousand years. NIH funded our group with a $2.1 million breast cancer clinical study which has been recently completed. Now this breast cancer clinical study was dealing with a non, er, non estrogen responsive breast cancer patients.
Ladies.
And the study has come back with some remarkable results. And when patients have radiation therapy or chemotherapy, their immune system is oftentimes impaired. So natural killer cells are decreased. Taking these mushrooms as adjunct therapy, not as a substitution, but to support the immune system. The natural killer cells increase on a dose dependent basis. The red bar is no treatment with 3 grams and 6 grams per day. And then post radiation, the immune system depressed. And then on a dose dependent basis, the natural killer cells are enhanced over a period of four weeks. So this raises base immunity function, which I think is critically important. Now this hit home to me very personally In June of 2009 when my 84 year old mother called me up and said, paul, I have something very serious to talk to you about, but you're always so busy. It's a terrible thing to hear from mom. I said, mom, what's wrong? And she's a very happy, genuine person. She goes, I'm worried. And my mother is deeply religious, has not seen a doctor since 1968. She said, My right breast is five times the size of my left. I have six swollen lymph glands the size of walnuts. And her voice started shaking. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I started crying. Why didn't you tell me sooner? We spent a large part of June at the Swedish Breast Cancer Clinic in Seattle. The oncologist examined her and upon the second examination, she had a 5.5 centimeter diameter tumor. It metastasized. It went to her sternum, it went to her liver. She had stage four breast cancer. The doctor gave her less than three months to live and stated it was the second worst case of breast cancer she has seen as a doctor in 20 years of practice. We had the circle family meeting. Many of you have gone through this. My mom announced that she bought a pine casket, the cheapest one that she could find, because she was going to heaven. But then the doctor said, you know, you're too old to have radiation therapy. You can't have your breasts removed. But there's an interesting study on turkey tail mushrooms at Bestira Medical School. You might want to try taking those. And that's. My mother goes, well, my son's supplying those. So she was put on Taxol and Herceptin, wonderful drugs. And then she started taking eight turkey tail capsules a day, four in the morning and four in the evening. And that was in June of 2009. And today my mother has no detectable tumors. And I'd like to bring my mother.
It. That's powerful. Sorry, I always. It's hard. It's hard to watch that and not know what's available to us. Right. My mom has had shoulder pain for years. And it was. I've tried everything to help her. It's not always, you know, the people you love the most, they're the hardest to help, aren't they? Right. So she actually started drinking the latte that's back there. And in three days her shoulder pain went away. So I've seen this Myself, you know, fortunately, I haven't had to have a loved one in that situation. But, hey, you know, we can use the best of what nature has to offer and what medicine has to offer and have some pretty remarkable outcomes. I don't know if he said it in this video. I was thinking about what I was going to say now when I was watching the video. So he actually. In one of the other videos, there was 49. I think there was 49 other women in that study. Did he talk about that? No. Okay. I didn't think so. There's 49 other women in that study, and his mom was the only one that survived, and she was the only one taking the turkey tail. So there you have it. Right? All right, let's go to another one. Cordyceps. Cordyceps militaris. There's thousands of different types of cordyceps. This is a cool image. Sometimes you'll see cordyceps growing out of pupae. Butterfly pupae. Okay? So that's what that is right there. Cordyceps boost the immune system. Okay? There's an actual. There's a red tea back there that has cordyceps. And it's great also for increasing energy. Rejuvenates the skin. Skin. It's also helpful for people with asthma and bronchitis. We all probably know someone who has some breathing challenges, helps prevent arrhythmia and heart disorders, and promotes healthy cholesterol. So it does all of these things. Now, here's the thing. Let me ask you something. When you update the software on your cell phone, does it just improve one thing and then destroy every other function, or does it improve everything? You know, you hope at least that everything gets better. Right? So the way I look at mushrooms, I look at them as software upgrades, okay? There's information that they're providing our body that our body didn't have before. Okay? And that's why when we provide information, we can make a lot of different systems work better. Okay? We can make a lot of different functions in our body operate better. It also helps with kidney health. Okay, Watch this. This is another cool video. You guys finding these videos fascinating? Yeah.
Incredibly, 80% of all insects live in jungles. Few are more successful than the ants. There can be 8 million individuals in a single hectare. But jungle ants don't have it all their own way. These bullet ants are showing some worrying symptoms. Spores from a parasitic fungus called Cordyceps have infiltrated their bodies and their minds. Its infected brain directs this ant upwards. Then, utterly disorientated, it grips a Stem with its mandibles. Those afflicted that are discovered by the workers are quickly taken away and dumped far away from the colony. It seems extreme, but this is the reason why. Like something out of science fiction, the fruiting body of the Cordyceps erupts from the ant's head. It can take three weeks to grow, and when finished, the deadly spores will burst from its tip. Then any ant in the vicinity will be in serious risk of death. The fungus is so virulent, it can wipe out whole colonies of ants. And it's not just ants that fall victim to this killer. There are literally thousands of different types of Cordyceps fungi, and remarkably, each specializes on just one species. But these attacks do have a positive effect on the jungle's diversity, since parasites like these stop any one group of animal getting the upper hand. The more numerous a species becomes, the more likely it will be attacked by its nemesis, a Cordyceps fungus.
Pretty cool, right? So they are natural pest controllers. Okay. In fact, Paul Stamets. Who is that gentleman? I should have prefaced that video. He's probably the world's leading mycologist. Okay, so if you want to, like, Google somebody or watch somebody, it's Paul Stamets. P A U L Stamets. S T A M E T E S or M E M E T S? Sorry, I was never the spelling bee champion. Stamets. S T A M E T S. Yeah, he's got some fascinating stuff. He's also got a line of products as well called Host Defense, and you might see them at health food stores. Really, really amazing guy. He's done a lot for this movement. All right, so let's go to Chaga next. I should have. You know what I should have done? Next time I do this, I'm just gonna put the picture and see who can guess the mushroom. But I know there's a lot of Chaga files in here, so this one's a popular one. This is a birch tree. That's where you'll find chaga growing, usually on dying. Birch trees that are using the chaga is essentially acting as the immune system for that tree. Okay, so if you ever see chaga like this, you want to carefully. If you're going to. If you're going to take it off, you want to carefully take it off, because if you don't, you're taking the immune system away from the tree, and the tree will die. Okay, so. So you always want to ask people how they harvest their chaga, if it's ethically harvested. So you might see it. And on birch, you'll also see birch polypores growing. Birch polypores. There are several trees in here that, if anyone's ever interested, I could take you to them, and you'll see dozens of birch polypores growing on them. All right. Now, what does chaga do? Well, like I said, it's the immune system for the birch tree. So do you think it probably helps with your immune system? Yeah, of course. Right. So it prevents and treats cancer. It has been shown to slow down the spread or stop the spread of cancer. So it stops metastasis and it causes tumors to shrink. Okay. Chaga, you can buy it in big blocks like this. But what you would do is you would take it and break it down into small chunks, like almost grind it down, not quite as fine as coffee. And then you would steep it like a tea. Not super hot, like very low temperature. And you would just keep steeping it until you can't get any more. Until the water is like clear, basically. Okay. So really easy to consume. You can also use chaga tea as a base for your coffee. So if you wanted to, you let the chaga tea soak overnight, then you can use that water to make your coffee in the morning. Okay. So it's pretty versatile. It increases immune function, so it increases the function of T cells. Are we good? Yeah, T cells, which are natural killer, like T killer cells, part of your immune system's way of destroying things. And it also helps with Interleukin 6, which is a cytokine that helps promote healthy immunity. And I'm just keeping this very basic. I don't want to go down the medical rabbit holes as well, but just know that it helps improve your immune function. And then it's also antiviral, so it's been shown to be beneficial for people struggling with hepatitis, for example. It helps decrease inflammation. It also helps with physical endurance. So that's why a lot of athletes might enjoy the benefits of chaga. Cordyceps is also great as well. So cordyceps and chaga and even Reishi, as you'll see in a minute, are great for endurance athletes and people who are looking to increase physical performance. It's got a super high ORAC rating of 146,000. So what that means is that it's a very potent antioxidant. Okay. Very potent antioxidant. So a lot of benefits. Now, this mushroom is known as lion's mane mushroom. Okay. Hericium arenaceous. This is really, really fascinating. So the compounds in this mushroom that we've discovered are actually the most powerful brain growing growth factors ever discovered. So the most potent nootropic on the entire planet, naturally occurring, is actually found in this mushroom. What does it look like to you? Brain. Right. And we've heard this concept or this idea that if something looks like a part of your body, probably helps that part of your body, right? Because it has software, right? There's a certain code, mathematical code that's coded into this mushroom for it to grow this way. It doesn't randomly grow this way, okay? So it's no coincidence that it looks almost identical to your brain and it also is one of the most potent healers of your brain. Okay? So it's the most potent naturally occurring growth factor for brain health. It protects the brain from degeneration. Okay? All of us, at some point, if we live long enough because of the crazy world we live in, our brains are going to, you know, start deteriorating and we can make better choices to preserve our brain health. It increases something called acetylcholine. Acetylcholine helps with memory and it also helps modulate blood sugars. Right. If we're going to have a healthy brain, we need healthy blood sugar function as well. It also helps enhance mood because that's associated not only to our brain health, but also to our gut health. And it can reverse cognitive decline. There's actually a patent right now that Paul Stamets owns, and in that patent you can take niacin, lion's mane and psilocybin mushroom and actually reverse Alzheimer's. So there you have it. Okay. All right, now let's go to my favorite mushroom. And it's Ganoderma lucidum. And this is one that I've gone really deep down the rabbit hole with. And in fact, it's one of the businesses I own is one that incorporates Ganoderma because I believe of its, you know, not only its spiritual potency, but I believe that it can do so much good in this world for people. Okay? So not only physically it can heal you, but it financially can heal you too, if you let it. So here's some of the benefits. These are known benefits of Reishi and some facts. It's been used in China for thousands of years. Okay? We'll look back like if, you know, I mean, we'll all be dead, right? But our great, great, great grandkids will look back and be like, oh my God, like they were so foolish, right? They would spend all these years and all this money developing a drug only to find out that it was poisoning people and then take it off the market. Right. Isn't that kind of the life cycle of most medications? Right. We have a blockbuster drug, it kills people, then we take it off the market, we come up with another one that does the same thing, and then we take it off the market. Now we have drugs like we have companies that make opioid medications and the same company makes the cure for the addiction to the opioid. So we've run out of things to create an economy off of. So we just create problems now we create artificial problems and then we create these artificial solutions to solve these artificial problems. And we call that an economy. I mean, this is so stupid how we've evolved to all these years, isn't it? When you really give it some thought, isn't it ridiculous? Ridiculous. So we're just like bored now. So we just create problems and then we create solutions to those problems. And that's not sustainable. Nature would never do that. Nature would never artificially create a problem and then create a solution for it. It just wouldn't create the problem in the first place. So we got to start thinking like nature. If we're going to use nature as a tool, does that make sense? Okay, so it's been used in China for thousands of years. And that should tell you something. Something that's been around for thousands of years probably has a history to it, it probably has some potency to it. It probably has helped thousands or millions of people for it to be continued to be used over all these years. Would you agree? Yeah, of course. So that's one reason I mentioned that it's known as the mushroom of spiritual potency. And I'll share some stories as we get through this. So one of the things that we've noticed with a lot of people is when they start drinking this coffee or tea or taking the capsules is their spiritual potency changes their level of empathy for other people changes the decision making capabilities that they have, changes they start thinking more clearly. Has anyone experienced that? Look around the room. And for those of you at home, pretty much everyone has their hands up. So there's a shift that takes place in people. Okay. And because I'm sharing this live, I won't mention any names, but people that I love and care about, you know, come to my house, drink this stuff, come back a week later and they want more because they feel better. Okay? And they feel a shift taking place. And what we see over time, without even my nudging or suggestion, is that these People start making better decisions for themselves because they started with this one better decision. And in a form that's delicious, we also get increased microcirculation with reishi. Reishi increases something called nitric oxide in your body. So what parts of your body require microcirculation? Any guesses? Your brain, for sure. So if I want to increase cognitive function, if I want to make you smarter, don't I have to deliver more nutrition to your brain? So let's do a quick test. Whose hands are cold? Some of you, it's okay. Mine are actually cold right now. Whose nose is cold? Okay, so just touch it. Don't touch it with your cold fingertip. Right? Touch it with the back of your hand. Anyone here? Okay, so what that means is your brain is cold because the blood vessels in the tip of your nose and the tip of your hands are the same size as the blood vessels in your brain. Okay? So we can increase microcirculation. And the hardest place to get blood to is the top of your brain because it's working against gravity. Okay? Oh, sorry. So microcirculation is huge. If I want to heal an old injury, what do I have to do? If I want to heal a new injury, what do I have to do? I have to send it circulation. So surrounding every single cell in your body is three things. Write this down. Lymphatic vessel to remove waste, a blood vessel to bring nutrients and a nerve to be the maestro and orchestrate what the cell does. So you need information and nutrients coming from the blood. You need waste products being carried out by the lymphatic tissue, and you need the nervous system telling the cell what to do. Okay? So really, really simple. So we increase circulation, we increase healing. This is why people can feel better in one organ or every organ. Every organ at the same time, okay? It helps modulate blood sugar, okay? And we've seen this. We have case study after case study. People coming off of their diabetes medications, not by me, okay? By their own doctors. We have people who are taking less or no insulin. We had one person in our group, we do a metabolic reset group, and people come in that group to lose weight and to get off some of their medications. He came off all of his insulin in nine days. Insulin is a death sentence, by the way. This mushroom proves to us that our bodies can heal. That when we give our body the right information, when we give it the right software, it can do amazing things, just like this computer. If I don't have any software on this computer or the software is outdated, or it is loaded with viruses. I'm not going to get the same functionality out of it, am I? So that doesn't mean I have to throw the computer out. I just need to update the software. Does that make sense? Our entire medical system is based off of throwing out the computer and buying a new one, not updating the software. Right. That's why we give people, like when we give people vitamins and minerals, I mean, yeah, that's great, but if the software is broken, like giving you a new keyboard is not going to fix the problem, right? Replacing the screen is not going to fix a problem if the software isn't working. Does that make sense? Okay, so right now, nobody's approaching healthcare from a software perspective. Everyone's approaching it from a hardware perspective perspective. You know, take these pills, take this. You know, let's replace that body part if it doesn't work. Let's cut it out if it doesn't work. Right? Those are hardware solutions. Okay? When you start promoting software solutions, the software can make the hardware work better. I can take that same phone and update the software and make every part of that phone work better. Does that make sense to everyone? Okay, so very important to understand that it's also been shown to de plaque the Alzheimer's brain. So the plaque, the amyloid plaque that forms on a person's brain who has Alzheimer's, this starts stripping that off, okay? It can cross the blood brain barrier. It reduces inflammation through 11 different mechanisms. This is why people can start drinking the tea or the coffee and almost instantly their pain goes. Anyone here experience less pain after drinking the tea or coffee? Look. Yeah, including myself. Like, I work out regularly and that takes a toll on your body. And one of my strategies is to use reishi, but also to use something called a beamer. A beamer is a pulsed electromagnetic field mat. And this mat I lay on it at night increases microcirculation. So I'm pretty much never sore, no matter how much I work out. It also increases NRF2. NRF2 is a pathway through which our body makes antioxidants, so it can actually protect our cells from damage. Okay, there's about 150 published articles that demonstrate how Ganoderma's compounds increase NRF2. What do I have here? Okay, now remember, when something looks like something, it probably carries out a similar function. Okay, so here we have our liver, and here we have a tree. And here we have ganoderma. So what is that ganoderma doing? It's taking basically the rotting tree. If you Will and turning it into a less harmful compound. In this case, it's turning it into a medicine. Our liver does the exact same thing. Your liver takes harmful compounds and turns them into less harmful compounds. That's what the detoxification process is. So doesn't this look like your liver? Okay. Same color, same everything. So guess what? It's one of your most potent detoxifying allies. If I turn it on its side now, what does it look like? Looks like your kidneys. That's why it helps with detoxification. At rest, the majority of your blood is going to your kidneys and your liver. So guess what? If your body's prioritizing blood flow to these organs, do you think that these are important organs for you to support? Yeah. Now, here's the thing. I said at rest. So most people are not at rest, are they? They're running around all day, they're stressed out, they might be sitting, but they're not resting. And we're going to talk about that in just a minute. And then if I turn it this way, what does it look like now? A brain. It's not a coincidence that pretty much all your major organs look like mushrooms. It's not a coincidence because we actually share 50% of our DNA with them. There's genes called Hox genes, H O X genes. And if you study these, you'll see that the structures in our body come from these genes. And we share these genes with the fungal kingdom and also with the plant kingdom. That's why our lungs kind of branch like trees do, right? Because we share that genetic architecture. Look at that reishi. That's massive, isn't it? I think that's. That might be the biggest one in the world. When you start learning about certain things, you start seeing it everywhere. So my son has a Ripley's Believe it or not and it might be this reishi, but they have a 300 year old reishi and it's just like huge. Okay, so these things can get quite beautiful. All right. It also promotes, as I just mentioned, healthy detoxification. All of us live in unfortunately toxic times. And some toxins we can smell, some toxins we can't. Okay? So just be mindful of that. You can't always smell the toxins in your environment or in your water or in the food supply. It helps improve exercise performance. So one of the things that I noticed when I switched out my morning pre workout drink to just having a black coffee, a king coffee in the morning is I got stronger. I actually had better gains in the gym. And Josh is nodding his head because it sounds like he had a similar experience. And it was actually scary for me because I started increasing the amount of weight I could push without actually, like, it was rapid. I think Adam had a similar experience as well. It was like rapidly increasing in strength. And I was talking to my trainer. I'm like, dude, am I going to hurt myself? Because I don't feel like I'm going to hurt myself. But this is not normal to be able to do this. So, you know, it's been amazing as a pre workout just having coffee instead of something else. So it does improve exercise performance, you know, knock on wood. I haven't missed, you know, for, you know, injury reasons, haven't missed a single workout in probably like 12, 15 years. But, you know, so I know that this stuff works. Okay. There's measurable benefits. It helps with weight management as well. Okay. There's a few people in here that have lost significant amounts of weight, and part of the reason they lost that weight is because they got a software upgrade. One of the things that also happens with reishi is that it actually helps you suppress your appetite in a healthy way. Okay. So you feel like you need less. Some people who here has heard of intermittent fasting? So all of you, right? So having a cup of reishi coffee or tea in the morning makes that fast a lot easier. It gives your brain a quick boost. It doesn't break your fast. Helps modulate your immune system. It's a great way to start the day. And you'll find you're snacking less, you're craving less of the things that you don't want. Okay? One of the things you guys have to remember is that this software up here that most of us have, maybe not you guys, because you're at a mushroom workshop, right? But most of our friends have, right. Is scrambled. It's all over the place. It's like completely fragmented because it was programmed by somebody else. Our brains. I mean, the most expensive thing that companies do is marketing, right? Where are they trying to get. Try to get in here, right? So they realize that this is the most valuable tool that you have. That's why they spend billions and billions and billions of dollars trying to penetrate it, right? So keep that in mind. So they're constantly telling us, oh, you got to eat breakfast. You got to, you know, keep. You got a snack, right? I mean, who came up with that advice, right? Yeah, you know, Dr. Kellogg, right? Who said that breakfast the most? Well, that's actually a true story, right? So we just make things up. You'd be shocked at how little you actually need to eat. And every single scientific study that's ever been done on calorie restriction shows that people who eat less calories live longer. When I'm constantly sending blood to my digestive system, where am I not sending it? To my brain. Right. So if I want to make somebody dumb and lazy and take down all their defenses, I just keep putting food in their gullet. Right. Isn't that the truth? So this helps you manage your weight better by naturally suppressing, not even suppressing your appetite, normalizing your appetite. Because it's not normal to feel hungry all the time. Okay. It also regulates a healthy appetite. As I said, it improves sleep. How many of you have noticed an improvement in your sleep since you started using the products? Yeah, a lot of you. Okay. Because it normalizes autonomic tone in your nervous system. And I'll spend a few minutes. This is probably, in my opinion, one of the most important things that you need to know. You want to take a picture of that? Go ahead. Can I be in it? All right, so how many of you have heard of your autonomic nervous system? Most of you. Okay. So I'm going to show you this information because I feel it's extremely relevant. I just need somebody. I need a volunteer. Any volunteers? Come on up. Just quickly introduce yourself to everybody.
Hi, my name is Alex.
Okay, so, Alex, thanks for volunteering. We're going to ask you some seemingly really simple questions. Okay? No tricks up my sleeve. So on the left hand side, we have your sympathetic nervous system. You can't look there. You can't look there. The answers are all there. They're kind of small to read. So on the left hand side, we have our sympathetic nervous system. On the right hand side, we have the opposite of this, which we'll get to in a minute. But this entire thing, this image is called your autonomic nervous system. And I'm really simplifying it. So if there's any, like, science warriors out there, like online, like, you know, I just want to pre face myself. So. So we have an autonomic nervous system. It sounds just like that. It's kind of like an automatic transmission in your car in a sense. Okay. So what happens in all of our brains is when information comes in, when, you know, touch information comes in. When visual information comes in, auditory information comes in, olfactory information comes in, taste information comes in. All that information, to a certain degree, gets processed through a part of our brain called the amygdala and then the amygdala makes a decision based on our past experiences and what we believe to be true. Make sense? So, Alex, for a minute, let's just pretend a lion walks into this room. You're not a lion tamer, right? No. Okay. So that information gets processed in her brain. She's. I mean, you probably think lions are cute when they're behind a cage, right? But if they're in a room like this, you're going to probably freak out, right? Based on the information that the average person has. Now, if my son was 2 and he was sitting here, what do you think he would do? He'd probably go towards the lion. Right? Same situation, different information. Okay. And different value system. So in her brain, from all the experiences that have been programmed into her from wildlife programs and all that stuff, the lion might attack her. We don't need her thinking, does the lion have teeth? Is the lion hungry? We don't want her overthinking that situation. We want her nervous system to react immediately. So before her conscious brain even knows what's happening, the amygdala, which is the decision making part of the brain, has already decided what's going to happen for you. And it's decided that this is a bad situation. And it's already sent a signal down your entire spinal cord to all of your organs. All of your organs shut down. Because they're not going to save you from the lion, are they? Your breakfast is not going to save you right now. Okay? Using up energy to detoxify is not going to save you right now. Emptying your bowels is probably not going to save you right now. Detoxing your blood through your kidneys is probably not going to save you. So what is going to save you? Where do we send blood if we want her to survive? Arms and legs. And we have to take that blood from somewhere. So we take it from the trunk, we take it from here. And where we send flow is where we send function. So a system in your body can't function unless we send blood to it. Does that make sense? So if I want your brain to function better, I've got to send blood to it. If I want your muscles to function better, I've got to send nutrients and blood to your muscles. That make sense? Really simple concept, but I hope you guys get it. So let's look at what happens to her as her body goes through this instantaneous transformation. I'm just going to ask you some simple questions, Alex. So would your pupils constrict or dilate.
They would probably constrict.
They would dilate. But let's think about that logically. Right? So if I'm under extreme amounts of stress, do I want more information coming to my brain or less information? Probably more. Right. I want to be able to see as much as possible so that I can plan my. My brain can unconsciously plan its escape route. Right. So when people are under stress, how does this show up? They go outside and they, like, it's too bright for them. They need sunglasses all the time. Do you guys know someone like that? Okay, I mean, some people in here, and there's nothing wrong with that, but that's like an outward sign that you're probably in a constantly stressed out state, that your pupils are always dilated. Okay. What would happen to your saliva production? Would it increase or decrease?
I'm thinking about it in a much different way.
Well, you're not going to eat the lion, right? You're not going to eat the lion, Right? So your saliva production would decrease. So people who are under chronic stress, they experience dryness in their mouth. Okay. They might be thirsty all the time. Right. Their thirst might be unquenchable. Okay? So that's one thing that people might experience. But what also happens when your mouth dries out is your teeth rot out of your mouth too, because you need moisture, you need saliva. You need the enzymes that saliva produces to keep your mouth healthy. Okay, what about your lungs? Would your breathing capacity increase or decrease? Okay, we need another volunteer. Just say the opposite. We'll do it. George. Yeah. So you need more oxygen, right? If I need more blood flow to my muscles, I need more oxygen going to my muscles so I can escape. Right? So my breathing. Just think about a stressful situation. When somebody's stressed out, they're usually hyperventilating. What about your heart rate? Would it increase or decrease? Decrease. It would increase. Yes. Yes. Let's give her a round of applause. Okay, the next ones are easy. So your detoxification function, would it increase or decrease?
Okay, so are we thinking about it in a way?
You're stressed out. There's a lion. Yeah, yeah. So when you're stressed out, detox doesn't make sense. Right. When you're running away from lion, detox doesn't make sense. How about your stomach acid production? Would it increase or decrease? Decrease. Okay, don't overthink it. You're overthinking it. Right. So you're not going to eat. So why would I make more stomach acid? Right, but you're also not going to digest. So your bowel shuts down, too. Okay, how about your reproductive organs? Would they function better or worse under stress?
Worse.
Worse, Right. She got that one right. How about your kidney function? Would that. Would that function better or worse?
I'm just thinking about the system at home. When I go into fight or flight, like, everything kind of shuts down.
Everything shuts down. Yeah. So again, these aren't trick questions, right? I know you know the answers. You're just overthinking it. How about bladder function? What would happen to your bladder? Would it relax or not? Under extreme stress, your bladder actually relaxes. Right. That's why people will pee their pants if they're under lots of stress. Because if I have a liter of urine in my bladder and I need to run, I need to get rid of it. Right? See, our body's smart. It does what enhances its likelihood of survival. Sometimes it might not make sense to us, but when we put it in a survival perspective, it makes sense. So have you ever seen a child really stressed out? They pee their pants because they're succumbing to their nervous system. Us as adults can probably hold it in, though. Okay. All right, so let me point this out now and bring this all together. So if somebody comes in to me a couple more questions. Would your blood pressure increase or decrease? Increase, Right. How about your blood sugar? Would it increase or decrease? Increase. And then how about your immune system? Would your immune system work better or worse? Worse, Right. So if somebody comes in and they have this lion that's constantly chasing them in life, which some of us do, it's our job. It's our. It could be our spouse. It could be the IRS or the tax revenue. It could be whatever. It could be deadlines that we have. I mean, there's so many things. It could be bill collectors. So some of us have these lions that are just chasing us all the time. Right? And so what does that do to our nervous system? It puts us in a state of fight or flight. And when we're in fight or flight, we have no choice. So she can't be like, you know what? I'm going to run from this lion, but I want to keep my liver working. You have no choice. Every organ is under the command of the nervous system. Does that make sense to everybody? Now, here's the thing. The nervous system is under the command of our belief system, right? Because it's our belief system that made the decision to be stressed out or not. Okay? So when we help patients in our office, we don't work on this. This is a hardware solution, right? And I would have to work on all of these things separately. I'd have to send her to a dentist. I'd have to send her to a heart specialist. I'd have to send her to a GI specialist. I'd have to send her to a reproductive health specialist. I'd have to send her to an endocrinologist because her blood sugar's through the roof. I'd have to send her to a neurologist because her brain's not working the way it's supposed to, because we're not sending any blood to it. Do you see why our system is so broken? Because you have super stressed out people whose nervous system is doing exactly what it's programmed to do, but their mind is weaponized against them. Do you see that? I'd probably go to jail for saying stuff like this, but I don't care. It's the truth. And this is built into your biochemistry. This is why nothing. You can keep spending more money on all this stuff. You can keep building more hospitals. It's not going to fix anything. I promise you. It's not going to fix it. That's why it hasn't. We're sicker than ever, right? And this is biology 101. You all now know more than our entire system knows, because you know this, okay? Now, wouldn't it be nice to turn all of these organs back on? How cool would that be, right? Guess what? The body already has a tool that does that for us. So this is known as our fight or flight system, which most people are constantly in. Fight or flight, okay? And then we have another system called the parasympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system. This is our rest and digest and reproduce and regenerate and restore side of our nervous system, okay? Now, you know our bodies are so amazing, right? You can see how complicated all these levels of the nervous system have to be involved in order to create a stress response, but in order to undo the stress response. It's only one nerve. It's your cranial nerve number 10. It's actually two, because you have one on each side of your brain stem. But it's called the vagus nerve, okay? And a colleague of mine, Dr. Habib, has actually written a whole book about this. He's one of the world's leading experts on this topic. And so you know what happens when we stimulate our vagus nerve is all of these organs turn back on, okay? So now we start sending blood to our Digestive system. We start sending function to it, we start sending information to it. Okay, Reproductive health improves, right? You know, there's all this, the government spending all this money on infertility, right? They'll pay for IVF therapy for you. If they just sent you on a vacation at the right time, right? And allowed you to get out of the crazy, stressful life you're in, you probably get pregnant. That's how most people get pregnant. They get pregnant when they stop trying because their stress levels are down. Okay, so reproductive health would improve. Kidney health would improve, Liver health would improve. You know, our heart health would improve. Okay, all these things would improve if we were able to get this vagus nerve activated. Does anyone know how to do it?
Well, by the looks of it, you need to eat mushrooms that are going to open up your spiritual channels. Like they're going to activate your third eye, your crown. Like those are our belief systems, that's our intellect. So I would imagine how you're working this in would be the chaga, for example. The spiritual enlightenment aspect of it would be opening up your belief system. So when I see that lion, I understand that if I'm stressed, he's stressed. If I'm not, he's not. I can walk away. I'm not gonna run to him and be like child, but right.
So great answer, right? That's awesome. And that's, that's the. See, she's already awake, right? So that's the high level answer. I'll give you the, the layperson answer is through our breathing. Okay? So if that vagus nerve is right here, I can stimulate it by chanting or humming or by deep breathing because my diaphragm is innervated by that vagus nerve. This is why things like yoga are so powerful, because they incorporate your breath. This is why chanting om is so powerful, because it vibrates your vocal cords, which vibrates your vagus nerve and mechanically stimulates it. This is why every form of meditation involves your breath. They may not have known all this anatomy, but they didn't have to. I don't have to know how my engine and my car works to drive safely. I just have to know what the rules are so I don't kill other people on the road. And they have to know the rules too. So we don't have to understand all of this stuff. All we have to understand is the implications of it. So if I want to heal somebody, can I ever heal somebody who comes in like this? Probably not. Never. They'll keep going to other doctors. They'll keep popping more pills. They'll keep getting MRIs and CT scans and brain scans and wondering and blood work and wondering what's wrong with them. But this is what's wrong with them. They have a fragmented mind that's programmed by the people that want them to be sick. The profit off of illness, right? The profit off of them not knowing. A lot of stuff you guys learned today. You guys see that? You think it's by accident. We learn about anything meaningful about health in school, anything meaningful about finances in school, and anything meaningful about food in school. Do you think that's by accident? And then those three industries happen to be the most profitable industries in our economy, right? If people knew how to take care of themselves, this economy we have wouldn't exist and a new economy would emerge. Imagine what would happen if all of us were healthy. That's a beautiful world, isn't it? The world I'm trying to create for my son isn't one where he gets an obscure disease and there's a cure for it. Because in order for him to develop that disease, he had to live a life that created the disease in the first place, which means he didn't live his best life, right? So the reality I'm trying to create, and maybe you guys are trying to create for your children or grandchildren, is one where they can have that full human experience. They can know what it's like to be a human being, okay? And so not many people get to actually experience that. You see this. You see the casualty of this society all around us. Thank you so much, Alex. Thanks for joining us. Let's give her a round of applause. So we want to get you here. We want to get you in a state where you're resting, digesting, reproducing, replicating, restoring, and regenerating. One of the things that Reishi does so beautifully, and the reason I bring it up now, is because it does that to your nervous system. It gets your nervous system from being in that fight or flight state to being in a state of rest and digest. This is why when somebody takes reishi, they can feel an improvement in all of these systems. Their sleep is better, their digestion is better. Their detoxification is better. Their allergies are better. They're thinking more clearly. Here's the thing. It has everything to do with what I do to the nervous system. Do you guys see that? Okay, so that's why this is such a potent tool in our belt to help our patients. Here's some reishimonials. I call them this lady actually lives in South America. And you know, she messaged me a few months ago and wanted to learn more about the Reishi coffee. And she started consuming, consuming it. And she saw I was doing this workshop, so she specifically messaged me and wanted me to share this message with you. She was in an accident, and unfortunately, she had some significant issues with a lot of parts of her body, but specifically her digestive issues. She developed many, many challenges. And so as a result of that, she started drinking the coffee, not knowing what would happen. She was just curious to see what would happen. And within three days, she started having regular bowel movements again. After months of not being able to, she would have to do all kinds of, in her own words, embarrassing things. Where is it? It's somewhere in here. But she would have to do humiliating actions in her own words to get to have a bowel movement every day. And just after three days of consuming the reishi, it all regulated again. Right? Because we tonified her nervous system. We put her nervous system in the right gear. Right? If I put your car in reverse, is your car ever going to go forward? No. Okay. So most people, they have their car in reverse and they're trying to drive forward in life because their nervous system is in a stressed out state and they're never going to get where they want to go. Here's another one. This is a great one from one of my clients that I coach. So I didn't mention this, but I coach doctors. So I coach about 150 doctors all over the world. I teach them what I know, and I always ask myself, what do I know? But I teach them what I know about how to get more information out like this into the public. And so one of my clients, his son started drinking the hot chocolate. I don't think we, we have some hot chocolate back there. And what was super awesome is in four days, after drinking the hot chocolate, he didn't know this. He had no idea that this was going to happen. We didn't know this. I didn't even know he took it until after this happened. In four days, after drinking the hot chocolate, his son's stuttering stopped. Debilitating stuttering, okay? And he's tried everything to help his son. And I'm sure he would have spent many thousands or tens of thousands of dollars more to do that for him. Right? But after drinking four hot chocolates. Now here's the thing. How do you get a kid to drink four hot chocolates? You can make it taste good, right? So the hot chocolate Here is delicious. Okay. So if I want to deliver reishi into that young child's body, I got to make it taste delicious. Kids don't lie, right? So if it doesn't taste good, they're gonna let you know. They're gonna spit it out. And guess what? You're tough. You're out of luck. You can't get it in them. Reishi is bitter, but the hot chocolate is a perfect match. And they've masked the taste of the reishi because they've processed the reishi in such a way that it doesn't taste bitter. And so, $6 worth of intervention and his child's stuttering problem went away. Now, is this a hardware upgrade or a software upgrade? Software. Right. And how long does it take to upgrade the software on your computer? Not that long. Right. So in a short period of time, we can expect miracles because we're shifting the nervous system, we're putting it in the right position, and we're sending the right information through that nervous system so that the cells in the body can work the way they're supposed to. Does that make sense? Pretty remarkable, right? Pretty amazing. All right, here's another one. This patient has had IBS for years. Okay. Probably spent thousands of our money, right? It's all our money. Half of our tax dollars go to the healthcare system. So we all paid for this, and she wasn't getting results. And here's the thing. She'll spare us the dirty details, but she's put many of her issues to rest. Her IBS has completely gone away because of the reishi. Okay. In fact, do you mind coming up and sharing? All right, Come on up. So I just heard. I didn't hear the full story because I told him to save all the juicy nuggets, but. Kishan, thanks for coming up Here. I'll give you this. We'll pin this on you, and then we'll give you the microphone as well. Yeah, I'll get it on there. Got it. All right, hold that and pull this. Okay, so tell us. Tell us what you've noticed in the last few days or weeks. I don't know.
25 days.
5 days.
25.
25.
25 days. Okay. So like most people out there, I have digestive issues, right? They've since gone away in the past 25 days. So it started, obviously, when I started drinking the Organo King coffee. So I came to. It was Ricky's workshop for digestive issues and stuff like that. And after the thing, after the workshop, like, okay, I give. I'll Drink the coffee. I'll try it out. Right. Within five days, I've noticed all my digestive issues completely stopped. I live up in Innisfil, so to get down here, I have it pre planned in my mind. If I got to use the washroom, which exit I gotta take, where has a clean bathroom, where can I stop to use the washroom? After five, seven days, no longer an issue. I use the washer one time for the day. I'm more relaxed, I sleep better. I usually wake up about an hour to an hour and a half before my alarm clock goes off. My wife, she started using the green tea with the reishi mushrooms in it before when she would comb her hair. She doesn't know I notice these things, but clumps of hair, clumps of hair would come out after that. Maybe 50 strands at most. So it stopped her hair from falling, which is one of the things.
Just.
To mention off the top of my head.
Right?
So yeah.
How does it taste?
It's woody. But it works.
Yes, Woody, but works. How about that? You drinking the King or is that Black King? Okay. All right. I wish I heard about this when I had hair. Maybe my hair wouldn't have. I try to grow it back. Just gonna rub it on there. All right, here's Sylvie. Sylvie, I don't know if she made it today, but she was supposed to join us. But she's actually a health coach and nutritionist. And so she started drinking the King coffee before she was avoiding coffee because it made her jittery and she would get a big crash and she didn't experience that with this product, so she was happy to share that. And then another person commenting on how beneficial their brain health is, their thoughts, their energy is bright and crisp vibes and everything makes sense to them, right? And they were feeling run down since December, so it's been noticeable to feel good for the first time in a long time. All by just changing a simple habit that people already do every single day, right? I love, like, I love hearing stories like that. You know, Kishan's been a big proponent and follower of ours, right? And he, you know, drove all the way down here to listen to this conversation, but also now contribute and share to the conversation. But you know, just by making this simple change, right? Not even becoming a patient, but just by making a simple change, we can help him, right? And that makes my heart just overflow with joy because if I can help him, then I know that either through him or with his story, we can help way more people, right? So now I have not only an obligation, but a responsibility to share this with as many people as possible, because I can't help everyone one on one. You can't help everyone one on one. But we could teach them through a simple tool how to help themselves. Okay? And you know that 25 cups of coffee saved you, like, $2,500 more or more, right? And I'm okay with that. That's the world that I'm trying to create. I don't want everyone having to run to my office to get better. I want to bring health into people's homes. I want them to feel empowered. I want his wife to feel great. I want, you know, their young family, when they have one, I want them to feel great, okay? Not wait until they get sick and then profit off of that. Like, we're here to help people and we would have helped you the whole time, Right? But now you can help yourself. Right? And that, to me, is actually more magical and more powerful. So let's talk about a few ways and we'll wrap things up how you can consume more medicinal mushrooms. Because you guys all saw the power, you know, that nature has to offer us, right? You guys all learn something new today. Raise your hands if you learn something new. Can we take a picture of that? Okay, maybe you can raise both your hands. Let's get a nice picture. Make the backs of your heads famous.
All right?
I'm going to send that to 45,000 people. Okay. Now, literally, that's how many people I have on my email list. So how can we consume more medicinal mushrooms? Well, let me give you a delicious recipe. Okay. One of my favorite recipes, my wife, you know, she makes, she's a great cook. Thanks. Thank you to her mom and her grandmother for passing down that art because, you know, she's amazing. So this is her recipe. I want to give her credit. You're going to start with enoki mushrooms. Okay. What I'll actually do is we have a video of her making the mushroom soup. So maybe I'll try to send that in a follow up email to you guys. You get some chives, a clove of garlic, minced, 3 sprigs of onion, chopped, 2 tablespoons of miso paste, 1 mushroom stock bouillon soup cube, half a pack of tofu, six to eight cups of water, and cilantro for garnish. Okay? Now, the tofu is optional if you decide, you know, for whatever reason, you avoid soy or if it just isn't compatible with your body or you're on an Elimination diet. The soy is optional. Okay. Or you can substitute it with something else. But that tastes amazing. Okay. So that's a really simple, like three to five minute recipe that you could prepare. And especially on cold days like this, I mean, a nice warm soup is just really soothing to your body. Here's how I take. And my family takes mushrooms every day. So my wife drinks a latte. Super delicious. Anyone try the latte today? How was it? It was great. It's good right now. Here's a cool thing about these products. A year ago, I wouldn't have recommended that you drink the latte because it has sugar in it. And then I realized when my mom had three and all of her shoulder pain went away, and when my client's son drank four hot chocolates and a stuttering problem went away, I realized that if I remained a purist, I would help fewer people. In fact, his son would still be stuttering. My mom would still have shoulder pain. Okay. So I realized that I wanted to be a realist and I wanted to help 99% of the population, not 1% of the population. I want to help as many people as possible. Okay? And if I know that all I have to do is get Reishi into their beautiful bodies and allow Reishi to do its magic, then I'm going to find whatever delivery system is necessary. And so my wife drinks a latte every day. She loves it. It's a great way that she starts her day. I drink the King coffee every day, which is organic coffee with organic spores. It takes 2,000 pounds of spores to make 2 pounds of spore powder. It's a lot of work to make these little spores and put them into the coffee or even put them into the capsules. There's three parts to the mushroom that I mentioned, and I just want to give you guys. You might want to write this down. So the spore is good for everything. The spore is the most potent part of the mushroom. It's about 70 times, 75 times the concentration of nutrients and antioxidants than any other part of the mushroom. The spore has two walls around it, has two thick coconut like shells around it. And so what Organo has done is they've opened up that shell because what did I tell you about the spore spores? Normally they would go right through you because that's what they're designed to do. But if we crack them open and preserve the concentration of nutrients inside of them and allow your body to access this information, then we can do good things. Okay, so you can take the spores in a powder. Now, I didn't add it to this recipe. I should have. But you can actually add the spore powder to the soup and it won't change the taste. Okay? So if you've got kids and you want to get the products into them, it doesn't have to be through the hot chocolate. You can add it to the food that you give them. You can add it to a smoothie, you can add it to, you know, anything that you make. Okay, if you wanted to add it to your pizza crust, like let's say you make a homemade pizza crust, you can just put it in there. Okay? So the spores are good for everything. The mycelium is that underground root network. So in the forest, it's the nervous system, immune system, digestive system, and respiratory system. So guess what? It heals in you. All of those things, okay? Because it has that information. If it can do that in the forest, it can do it in you. Right? Remember, you're part of nature, right? So what we see happening out there happens in here. The Ganoderma lucidum, that's the fruiting body. That's that beautiful bright red reishi that you see. And so what does that do for the forest? It helps detoxify, right? It looks just like your liver, looks just like your kidneys. So guess what that does in your body helps with detoxification? Okay, the black coffee back there deeps. Can you hold that up for us? So the black coffee, my son's holding it up. Thanks, Devin. That has the ganoderma lucidum in it. Okay, so that's a kishan. If you want something that's a more bolder roast, then you can try the black coffee. Okay? Try that one out and see how you like it. That has that. And that's going to help with weight loss. That's going to help with detoxification and elimination, okay? Because that's what it does in the forest. So these are the organo products I use. And then there's two other things that I might add if I want. If I have a mentally taxing day or week, then I'm going to add a powder of lion's mane. Okay? So this is a dual extraction lion's mane powder made by a company called Harmonic Arts. This is a product we carry in our office. We actually didn't bring any today because we didn't get our shipment in time. It'll be in the office on Monday. And then the five mushrooms I talked about today, you can also get them in one blend. So this one blend has a dual extraction of reishi, cordyceps, lion's maneuver, chaga and turkey tail. So all those benefits that I gave you today, there he is, holding him up. He wants his moment of attention there. Thank you, buddy. You can get all those upgrades by consuming this very inexpensive. I think that this 45 gram bottle is only $30. We carry it at our office. Yeah. You know, the daily. I take half, I take, I take, I drink my coffee and I add half a teaspoon to it. Yep. And you can add more if you want, but I just take it as a maintenance dose on a daily basis. Yes. Okay. And again, you can add this to your food, you can add it to your soup, you can add it to other things, you can add it into your smoothie. It doesn't really change the taste very much. Okay. So you can get all those amazing benefits without, you know, without having to go forage for these mushrooms. Okay. Yes. Just a quick question that I'm getting a lot. Does the boiling water or hot water or the heat from the stove, does it affect it at all? You know, it really depends. The answer is my assumption is not right. It's always best to use things in their most natural state. And here's the thing with mushrooms, all mushrooms should be heated before being consumed. Right. So just a general rule of thumb, I mean, these are, these are processed in a way that you don't need to heat them. So the capsules, you're not going to have to heat the capsules before you consume them. But I don't know if, if the damage would take place, if that's a concern. Right. Like, I just take the capsules on their own. But if I'm trying to sneak it into my, you know, I don't have to sneak it into him, but if you're trying to get it into your children, then that might be the only way. Right. And if it's a concern, then we can always use it in cold beverages like smoothies, right? Yeah.
So if you're doing it in a.
Cold beverage, like you're making green juice, would you add that in the blending part or would you pour it out into a glass and then add it in and stir it in? Great question. So all powders, here's a pro tip. When you're making smoothies, all powders should be added last and pulsed. So even your protein powder, whatever you're adding, like if you're going to add your frozen stuff, add that first and blend it, then add your powders and then pulse it. Yeah, you don't want. Because what happens is when you, when you over blend, you start denaturing things like protein especially. And you'll notice that you start off with this much and then when it's done blending, it's like this. And that's all air, right? And that's why when people drink smoothies, they get gassy. Well, half their smoothie is air, so we want to minimize that. Okay, so these are the things that I do on a daily basis. And it's also important with mushrooms to know your sources. So here's an interesting fact. This on the left can be called organic reishi. When it's ground up in a powder or in a capsule, you don't know what it looked like to start. Right. So this can be called organic reishi, but it grows, you know, on wood chips out of a garbage bag. And that's not the same as growing on logs in nature. Okay. So the source matters and you can see the difference in the color. You look at that color and you look at that color. Okay? So Organo grows all of their reishi in China in lands that are preserved. And they have exclusive agreements with the Chinese government to be able to grow the reishi. Their reishi in China is a. Is a national treasure. Okay. So it's revered over there for thousands and thousands of years. So they had to get special permission to grow it there and then import export it all over the world. Yes. You have a question? Yeah.
So when you're buying it, how would you know the difference between some, like, special.
Yeah, so we kind of do that research whenever we recommend products. So sometimes it'll say what I encourage you to do, especially if it's something you're going to put in your body every single day, it's worthwhile just exchanging a few emails or having a phone call if you're not sure. Right. So Harmonic Arts, you know, I know the founder of the company, super great guy Yarrow Willard, and they all their mushrooms are wildcrafted, which means they're grown in the wild. Okay. And then there's some companies, and I don't want to throw anyone under the bus, but there's some companies that are organic, but they grow them indoors. Right. In like, farms. Okay. Still better than nothing. But we want the best, right? We want the best for all of us. So that's what I like about Organo. That's what I like about Harmonic Arts. Okay. So the sourcing is very, very important. Know your sources. And then as I mentioned, there's an amazing trend going on right now and you saw all the amazing benefits that people have. So, you know, only now do we really have an understanding. And we're still learning, you know, what these powerful tools can do for us. Mushrooms are super sustainable, okay? So we're never going to run out of, you know, logs or trees to grow them on, okay? That's part of life, their natural life cycle. And then they're also very eco friendly because you saw, right, the turkey tail grows on the tree stump. We don't have to destroy anything around it to grow it, right. In fact, it grows better under those conditions. Mushrooms also have a multitude of benefits. So they can benefit multiple systems, multiple organs inside your body at the same time, and they have little to no side effects. Sometimes when people initially start consuming mushrooms, depending on the dose, they might have a few loose bowel movements. That's actually a good thing. It's your body getting rid of some of the waste. It's that bowel movement that you've been waiting to have for a long time. You just didn't know it. So sometimes that will happen initially, but that usually passes when within a day or two. And it usually happens to people who are more toxic. So if that happens to you, that's your body getting rid of things, okay? So be okay with that. Mushrooms. Has anyone, some of you have probably heard of things like ayahuasca, right? Ceremonies where people, you know, take these plant medicines and they purge, right? So they're vomiting or they're having bowel movements and these are like this, like evil leaving their body. So that's how I look at it. When somebody says, I had loose stools, I'm like, awesome, let's get rid of that stuff, let's dump it out. Because that's the intelligence of the product. Mushrooms have no side effects or very minimal side effects. They're food medicine, but they're also teachers. They can teach us things, they can show us patterns, they can allow us to see things that we didn't see before that were always there. Okay. And with that being said, I'd love to answer any questions that you guys have. Thank you for your attention and thanks for being here today. Any questions? Yes, Would you like, you know, you talk about how they can be dirt coated mushrooms, but if we deal with like, so, like, would you say like candida is some kind of mushroom or mold is some kind of mushroom and they can be very coded as an adversary, right? Yeah. So it's really interesting you say that because some of Our clients that use this. Yeah. So the question is. Thanks, Deepa. The question is, you know, people with mold challenges or candida overgrowth challenges, are mushrooms contraindicated for them? So typically, some people will say that mushrooms, like button mushrooms, the mushrooms that we would probably eat, those would potentially be contraindicated, and maybe Sylvie can back me up on that. If somebody has candida overgrowth, then we might not recommend, like, those edible mushrooms to them, but we would certainly recommend reishi to them. We actually have case studies of people using reishi, and their mold counts go down because now their immune system works the way it's supposed to. So just like different kingdoms. Like, if you think about animals, we all belong in the same kingdom, but we're all very, we're different than, you know, all the other animals. Right. So there's hundreds and hundreds of thousands of different types of fungi or fungi. So they don't all fall into the same category. They can do different things. So these are medicinal mushrooms, which can actually enhance our immune system function, whereas molds and candida can suppress our immune system function. Yep. And, you know, if you're concerned about that, then you might want to do a trial run with some people Right. Before you ramp things up. But our experience has been that very few. I, I, I don't think I've had anyone have an adverse reaction to it. In fact, they usually feel better. Yeah. Yes. How do beta glucans fit into the conversation? So beta glucans, that's a great question. So the question is, how do, how does beta glucans fit into the conversation? So they're a prebiotic fiber. Right. And so one of the first things I talked about in turkey tail. Turkey tail is loaded with beta glucans, as is reishi, as are all mushrooms, essentially. And that helps heal the microbiome, which is the biggest footprint of your immune system. That's why eating or consuming the mushrooms is so powerful, because it serves as a prebiotic nutrient. Thank you. Great question. Anyone else? Are you guys just stunned with the information? Don't know what questions to ask? I, you know, this. Do you guys find this interesting? Yeah. Like, mind blowing. Right? Like, to me, like, I've been, I've been like. And for those of you following, you can see why I'm so excited about sharing this information. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Right. I was, like, afraid I was gonna, I was actually afraid I was like, am I gonna know what to talk about or am I gonna talk too much? And I hope I found the Right balance for you guys to follow along. I tried to keep it as simple and as relatable as possible, but I hope you got value out of this. I hope you learned something new. I hope you learned something that you could take away from this. At the minimum, I would suggest that you find your favorite beverage and replace it. I think that's a really great place to start so you can have some great testimonials to share at some point in the future as well. And if you're interested, I'd love to discuss what your health goals are, what your health challenges might be, to see if we can help them. But I would say that start with adding mushrooms into your diet. Start by adding mushrooms like Reishi into your daily routine and see what happens. Give it 25 days like Ishan did. Right. And saved himself thousands of dollars. Right? Yeah, yeah. So. And not with us. Right. So just to be clear, so I don't want people to think that you gave me all that money. It didn't work. And now the mushrooms work. Right? So our goal in our office and our mission at the Living Proof Institute is this. It's to find ways to keep people out of our office. Because that's the only solution. Okay? That's the only solution to our current healthcare situation. It's not more doctors visits. Even if you come and see me, that isn't the solution. That's. That's a fix for you. But that's not the solution. The solution is how do we get get health back into people's homes? And this technology allows us to do that. This delivery system allows us to do that. And that's why I'm super excited about it. Okay? So thanks again for being here. We'll be in the back. We do have to clear out the room by 2:30. So I'm here to answer any questions that you have. This will be on my Facebook feed, on my personal feed. Can I get a promise from you guys that you'll share it on yours? Who can do that? Okay. I really, really appreciate that because I have a big network, but with you, I have a much bigger network and I think a lot of people would benefit from this. One other thing, if you want the slides, you have to write me a nice comment. So that's about it. That's the only condition. Thank you. I love you and have an amazing rest of your day.
