This ONE THING helped Latia lose 21 stubborn pounds without...

YouTube interview (Living Light Metabolic Coach / Living Proof Institute) between coach Alice and client Latia describing Latia’s experience in the Living Light Reset program and the Living Proof accelerator. Latia reports releasing 21 pounds in ~12 weeks (her husband lost 35 pounds on the same plan), improved sleep (deeper, richer sleep), resolution of joint pain, reduced inflammation, and reversal of early metabolic dysfunction signs (she noted prior signs of insulin resistance). She highlights program features that mattered: provider-focused design, built-in community, objective tracking (Oura ring), accountability, and business systems from the accelerator. Professionally, the program simplified onboarding and systems, increased confidence in her offerings, and—she estimates—moved her business ~1–2 years ahead. The interview closes with practical advice (remember your why; ripple effects on family/clients) and gratitude.

Well, just say hi.
Yes. And they're welcome to say hi and hello community as well. And welcome to this beautiful Friday afternoon for anybody that's in Canada at least. And good morning for anybody that's tuning in and other parts of the world. Happy Friday. My name is Alice and I am the health coach running the Living Light Reset program at the Living Proof Institute. And today I'm with my amazing client here, Latia, who has completed her journey through our Living Light Reset program on all the while working and completing and pursuing her own business and creating her own online business and working to fine tune that through our virtual group program accelerator. So today I would love to jump on here with my wonderful client Latia and she is going to share a little bit more about her story on how she was able to release £21 in 12 weeks and counting. So big round of applause for Latia.
Thank you. You're so kind. Thank you so much for having me here today. It's such an honor, it is such.
A pleasure for you to share your wonderful story and I know that there's so much excitement that happened in that 12 week time where we've had the opportunity to work together. So to kind of begin and segue in. I would love to know what initially brought you to the Living Proof Institute.
Yeah. Thank you, Alice. So I've honestly been following Satchin for a few years. Before joining, I was following the podcast initially and had participated in some of the Perfect Practice Live events and heard about the opportunity to participate in this most recent Perfect Practice Live and just felt like it was a good time for me. I was really tired of where my practice was and I just needed help. I recognized that I needed help and it was just a good time to take some chance to make some changes towards getting the practice that I wanted. I felt like overall it was just such a gap between what I envisioned and where I actually was in reality and I was just tired of trying to figure it out on my own and so that it just felt like the right time to join.
Awesome. Awesome. And I truly believe in kind of what we were chatting about a little bit earlier. Everything happens in good time and everything presents itself in your life when you're ready to accept it and when you're ready to fully benefit from that. So I love that this kind of, you know, fell into your lap or fell into your, into your peripherals at kind of the perfect time. And I would love to know what you tried prior to coming to the Living Proof, whether it be in your own health journey or additionally your business journey.
Yeah, I must say I was probably a little more stubborn than I should have been. Coming in. I always saw the value of group practice. And in my, my world as a nurse practitioner in women's health, I was cert a group facilitator for a model called Centering Pregnancy. And so we use group models of care. And I had used them my entire career as a nurse practitioner for about 10 years and had done my dissertation on group visits and my postdoc research on group visits. So I came in thinking that it would be just easy peasy. I don't really need any help in trying to figure out what to do. And I was wrong. I was really wrong. And so what really put me over the edge was just seeing how much time I was spending trying to piece together something that would work and that I knew had proven outcomes and that had the efficiency that I was looking for to kind of take away from the time that it was taking for me to do one on one visits. And so having an opportunity to participate in something that had that evidence was a key push for me over the edge. But then also this focus on taking care of ourselves as providers and the notion of that my cub needs to be able to run over before I can give to anyone else. And I definitely found myself at the verge of burnout, honestly. My practice had been open for four years and I was in this state of just, I'm rebranding, I'm reworking for a very long time and didn't really feel that I was really moving in the direction at the speed that I wanted. So I. All of those factors really came together to just confirm for me that it was just the time to make some changes. For sure. Yeah.
Amazing. Thank you so much for sharing that. And what did you find different about this approach compared to maybe a couple of things that you've tried either on your own in the past or I guess, other programs that you thought might be the right fit for you?
Yeah. What I love the most about this approach was definitely the notion of the provider health being the priority and having to experience the things that we're wanting our clients to do. That was a really huge eye opening piece for me. And in the past I've done the Daniel Fast. My church does the Daniel Fast annually. And so we've done that as part of a spiritual practice. And I've done the elimination diet and trying to prepare myself for what I ask clients to do. But just the overall structure of this was very different. Like having the built in community and the support to help along the way. And knowing that I wasn't alone. I had other people that were in very similar points in their lives, in their health walks and in their careers that just really made this approach very different. I also really enjoyed all of the extra perks. Right. The oura ring and kind of looking at the data like I like numbers. And so it was just really nice to quantify and to see my progress. Right. And realizing that I was not as healthy as I thought I was and that I really had a lot more work to do on myself in order to show up the way that I wanted to for my clients.
Beautiful. And I love how you were able to bring that awareness in and use that objective data to see where exactly could I be there for myself a little bit more. Because as you said, we're all majority of us in this field are providers, we're nurturers, we want to be healers. And then we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves, which then in turn, you know, of course creates that burnout. So I'm so happy that, you know, you have such an amazing awareness and you were able to use that information for, you know, bettering yourself and creating that best life. I'm so happy to hear that. And my pleasure, My pleasure.
And it was shocking at first. Like I really, I really had this perception of myself being in a very different place than what the data was showing. So it was, it was really eye opening for sure.
Yeah. It gives you those little reality checks where you're like, okay, maybe I do need to work on things a little bit, but all good fun as well. And I would love to, to know and for you to share some of the other results as you found kind of come through either it be in your health or going through the virtual accelerator.
Yes. So definitely health wise. I was excited, like you mentioned, to release 21 pounds. And not that it was about the weight for me, but just realizing the amount of inflammation that I had present in my body was really eye opening. My husband joined me on the journey and he lost 35 pounds. And so it was just very. Yeah, he released 35 pounds. And so it was just very eye opening to the point of we're not as healthy as we think and there are definitely areas for improvement. I noticed just a lot more mental clarity. The sleep that I experienced, it was phenomenal. Like just really rich, deep sleep, which is always challenging for me as a mom of small kids that are still waking up in the middle of the night or still need Attention in the middle of the night. So having that quality sleep was just very important for me. And then I was also starting to notice that I had just lots of achy, weird joint pain that is just completely gone now. And so I'm very grateful for that. I feel like I wanted to be able to keep up with my kids, and being able to do that is wonderful. And then from the business standpoint, the systems, like having a plan for the systems in my business, a plan to be more efficient. I really appreciated the way the program modeled the different behaviors and practices that we were to implement via the Q and A's or via the coaching calls or just even in our coaching sessions as we went along. It was really a great example of how to apply everything we were learning and to do so in a manner that was, you know, we have protected time to work on, but it was efficient and realistic. And so I was just really thankful for that.
Amazing. Wow. Just so many, so many highlights. And I'm so happy to hear all of these wonderful, wonderful wins and training transformations. And, you know, you've put so much work, so much wonderful effort and love into yourself, and it really shows, and it's coming through in you and it's coming through in your business and in so many ways. There's so much to be excited for, to come to. I would love to know how has this changed the way that you're going to practice moving forward?
Yes. So I think one of the most important revelations I had during the program was I don't think that I fully pieced together that I was my ideal client. I work in women's health. My practice focuses on reproductive wellness and just transitioning into motherhood and the time after that. And just overall women's health and wellness, what changed first is I keep saying this, focus on myself as a practitioner and making sure that I'm in a good place to be able to show up for them, but then recognizing just the different challenges that I had in implementing some of the lifestyle changes or just in general, the sustainability piece and thinking through what that would look like for my clients and how I can better support them because I'm walking that walk with them. And this is the reality of my life. And I'm asking them to do something that I'm doing as well. And so that has changed the perspective or the lens in which I use when I'm thinking about my clients. But then I've also learned to really put the highest value on the, I guess, the priceless components. Right? Like just making sure that I'm making the time for the things I'm most passionate about. And I think we talked about in our coaching session during the group like every day I would just, I would go outside and blow bubbles with my kids and it's just a random. Well, I guess not random, but it seems insignificant. But I found myself just really enjoying that time and I would go outside barefoot so I'd had some grounding time. And just to see the smiles on their faces, it just reminded me why I went into entrepreneurship and that I need to make space for the things that matter and that I need to build a business around that. And so that's been, those have been the biggest changes I would say really a better perspective on how to move forward with my business.
Oh my gosh, my heart, it just, it feels so full hearing that. And I love exactly what you mentioned just there. You know, building a life outside of the things that, that you're. You're pursuing this career for. You know, you're pursuing these freedoms to be able to have this amazing time with your family and not take away from it. And I love that you're. You're making and incorporating those wonderful habits and family time, connection time. It's just so wonderful to hear. And I would love to know has this changed your confidence? I gu in what you are offering your community and what you have in your business currently?
Yes, I definitely believe that it has changed my confidence. And I mentioned before, you know, when you're creating something on your own and this is not to say that I don't have aspirations to create things on my own, but it just you have that small amount of doubt about whether or not it's going to do what you're intending for it to do. And then it takes time, you know, just like how you go through any type of research methodology to make sure that your getting those proven results over and over again and that you can actually stand behind the claims that you're making. I definitely have more confidence in myself as a practitioner because one this confirmed what I already knew with regards to my knowledge base and the things that I do tell patients to do on a one on one basis. But just being able to see the results within my, my own household, seeing the results that occurred with all of my group mates and the program overall is just. Is really helpful. And then even seeing the results that I've seen and some of the pilots that I've done thus far just, it makes me feel much more confident about what I'm asking of my clients.
Yeah, because you yourself are walking the walk and talking the talk.
Exactly.
Completely resonates, which is so awesome. And do you feel like this is simplified, your approach moving to, you know, creating your own online business and offerings to your clients, or do you feel like maybe it's been more complex? Where do you stand in that?
Yeah, I think it's simplified things because I really find this as a really good foundational place for people to start, and that's how I've been using it. Right. And so it's a really good buffer to offer the program as an intermediary if patients are still having issues that persist after the group. Then we talk about one on one care. It's really simplified the onboarding process. It's really simplified the systems and the amount of work that I need to do. These are foundational steps that I think are very important to not necessarily master, but to introduce before we get to the point of working one on one. And that just seems so far to be working better for me than what I was doing before, which was pretty much just reinventing the wheel with every single client. Right. So it's just, it's helpful to have that structure in the system of kind of filtering out my time and also.
Leveraging your time and leveraging. Yeah. And to be in your zone of genius and to be where you're passionate and where you excel versus trying to be a jockey of all trades, even though you're very good at it. You know, know everyone has their unique talents and their unique strengths, and as much as we can stay in those zones, I think that's the best place to be. So I love that. And so thank you for sharing that and thank you.
And that's definitely an area I'm still working on. You've been phenomenal and really kind of pointing out how I can do that better. So thank you.
Oh, it's my pleasure. And I'm so grateful to have been along and to get to know you more throughout the last, you know, I guess three months now and just be along for your amazing ride because you are doing so many wonderful things. And so I always want to stay posted. I want to always be in your corner rooting you on because you're doing wonderful, wonderful things. And I would love to know, what would you say was the best part of working together, both with, of course myself as your health coach, but then as well with the Living Proof team going through the accelerator?
Yes. Well, there were to just name one. It's a challenge, but I would really say the accountability was really, really helpful for me. I need it. Yeah. I needed that extra layer of accountability and being able to show what I'm working on to either the other. The other members in the cohort or to the Living Proof team. And getting that feedback was helpful. So accountability and just real working feedback that really, really set this apart for me.
Yeah.
Thank you.
And where do you feel like you would be now with your business, or how long would you think that it would take you had you not, let's say, gone through the accelerator to be at the place that you're at with your business right now?
Yeah, I don't know that I could fully quantify. If I had to quantify, I think I would say that this definitely put me a few years ahead, if not at minimum a year ahead of where I want it to be. And that's just because thinking of all the different phases in which you have to implement things, maybe there are some practice owners that are much more risk takers. But I overthink everything, and I like to plan for things and have a system in which I like to implement before I do something. And so I definitely would say that this put me a year or two ahead because I have the tools that I need. I have the systems that I need and the ability to implement them very readily. And so, yeah, that's what I would say.
Awesome. Yeah. It's two years saved that we would have been reinventing and hopefully not burning out, but potentially just using your energy in places where, again, it's not your expertise or your zone of genius.
Yeah. And it's always so challenging when you're trying to do something new, when you have an established practice because you're trying to maintain what you already have going on, and then you're trying to make time for. For that creative thought, for the planning time. And so it was definitely this tug of war with my time. Either I was going to have to cut back on seeing patients so that I could have this extra creative time, or what was happening for me was just limiting that creative time and planning time so that I wasn't really moving the dial the way that I need to, but that was just the reality of my life as a micro practice.
Yeah. Thank you so much for sharing. And where do you feel like your health would be right now had we not gone through the actual metabolic reset? Where do you feel like you would be or what place would you be in currently?
Yeah, thank you for that. And I forgot to mention earlier that I was starting to see signs that hormonally things weren't quite right and just seeing signs of insulin resistance mainly. And so I definitely would say that I probably would have found myself on this progression, unfortunately, to some type of prediabetes or diabetes or pcos, I'm not sure, but definitely not in the direction that I would have wanted to be. Definitely some early signs and some metabolic dysfunction that just weren't necessarily on my radar to the extent that they should have been. And so I'm just thankful, and I'm thankful to not be achy and to have those opportunities of being able to keep up with my kids and to really enjoy the life that we're trying to provide for them.
That's beautiful, Beautiful. Thank you so much for that. And I would love to share words of wisdom from you. What would you say to a practitioner or somebody who is thinking about transforming the health, who is sitting on the fence right now and really wants to move ahead in their business? Move ahead, you know, and gain those, those different freedoms and additionally those health freedoms as well. What piece of wisdom or advice would you give to that person?
Yeah. So first I would always say I like to start with remembering your why. The world needs you. The world needs the specific work that you're doing. And we need you to be able to show that your best, fullest capacity. So remember the why and really evaluate where your life is, where your practice is, is it everything that you wanted it to be. And if not, there's no better time than now to make those changes. And the changes don't just impact your life, they impact your family's lives, they impact your clients. It's like a ripple effect. I gave the example during the group that every night I was using essential oils, lavender essential oils, but I started putting it in my kids diffuser and it got to the point where my 7 year old was like, wait, mommy, I need my lavender, I need my lavender. And it was so cute. But it was at that moment that I realized, wow, I'm not just making steps to change my life, I'm making an impact in his life as well. And that ripple effect is so necessary. And so I definitely would say there's never going to be the best time. It may not ever feel like the right time, but the time is now to make those changes for no one else but for yourself. Because the world needs us and the work that we do and we have to be at our best in order to deliver that.
You put it so beautifully and I love how the ripple effect is already showing up and it's already presenting itself and in so many ways, this is the start to so many fresh beginnings and new amazing things to come your way. So I want to say thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview with us today and sharing your wonderful accounts with our community.
