If you're struggling with digestive issues, I have a tip that can change your life. After working with thousands of people, what I realized is that many patients are looking for a new pill, a new diet, a new test, or a new doctor. And instead of that, I'm going to give you something that can really clue you in into your own body and activate your own digestive fire. This simple tip can change your life, and I want you to start paying attention to it. So here it is. Never eat unless you're salivating first. The act of salivation occurs when we're in a parasympathetic state, also known as the rest and digest state. So just like you'd never drive through a car wash if there was no water running, never put your food in your mouth until you're salivating first. A few things that you can do to increase salivation that can be helpful. One is smelling your food. Engaging with your food by smelling it will increase saliva production and tell your body it's time to eat. Another thing that can help is some lemon water. This will activate your saliva glands. And then some box breathing. A few breaths that will help you get your nervous system into a relaxed state to prepare you to digest that beautiful, healthy meal that you're about to have. So here's my tip for you today. Do not eat unless you're salivating first.
