Happy Friday. We are having a little bit of a quieter class today. It looks like it's just me and you for the time being. I'm gonna wait a few more minutes to see if anybody else jumps on board, but if not, we can have a private little chit chat if you'd like. If you have any questions, but if you're just plugging away, kind of tuning in, go for it as well.
Okay, thank you so much.
My pleasure. Feel free to ask any questions and in relation to any part of the program, post program, pre program, any and all, I'm happy to address those.
Okay.
Do you have any questions?
This is about the program my husband and I are doing. So I'm doing my second round and my husband's doing his first round, but we're doing pretty well. Oh, oh. I thought of a question. I remember when I went through it the first time, Natalie said you can only drink 8 ounces of sparkling water. And I, she gave me a good reason for it, but I don't remember what the reason is. And I was trying to tell my.
Husband, yes, so sparkling water is great, but it does have more of an acidic base to it. And while it's, you know, a small amount of carbon that's actually causing the carbonation, it is still creating more of an acid like environment. Whereas our bodies, and specifically our guts thrive in alkaline. So not that it's going to make a huge swing, let's say in any direction, but it can kind of propel or maybe take away a little bit of that healing power.
Okay, that makes sense. Did you hear that, hun? Okay, yeah, he's sitting there, he's sitting there gulping on that and I'm like, no, it's only 8 ounces. Okay, that makes sense. And then since I have you all to myself, I might as well just wrap it. Fireware.
When I think of something, I love it.
The other question I had, okay, so my husband is going to reach his like I, okay, how low is too low? Because I'm thinking my husband's going to reach his goal weight or if he hasn't reached it yet, like how far should I let him continue to lose weight? And then what do I do to like level out that? Do I add a break, do I have an out of breakfast or you know, whatever your solutions are for that.
Great question. So some way to kind of gauge. There's two different ways people use bmi, which is not kind of the best in terms of evaluating how your body stores weight and where so what you could use, Actually, I made a Facebook post about this. I can tag you in it if. Are you in our Facebook group?
Yeah, I should be, but I have so many Facebook groups, I probably don't steal a whole lot.
No problem. I know there's so many different things, like coming at you in every which direction. Is your name Becca as well in the Facebook group?
No, I think it's Rebecca Khan.
Okay, I will take you in it right now. And what I'm. Oh, Found you. Perfect. So what this is is your waist to height ratio. And that's kind of a better way of determining where your body should be in terms of your weight based off of your height and your waist. And the reason being is that your waist is what holds kind of the most toxic fat, if you will, for your body because it's coating your visceral organs. So that's usually what causes a lot of those metabolic issues for a lot of people. So I would suggest using that as kind of a marker. And then also gauging how your husband's feeling, how you're feeling. Obviously, if energy is good, if he's sleeping up, if he's sleeping well, if he's waking up rested, you know, all of those things matter as well. And that's a more of an intuitive feature. You're gonna have to sharpen yourself and it will pay to know that feature for yourself too. So that's what I would say in terms of recommending, like more of a healthier weight. Tune into both how you're feeling and then also using either BMI or WA to height ratio to determine that. And then if he's still continuing to release even though he doesn't want to. So you can add in more starches with either of your meals that you're already having, you can include a breakfast, like you've mentioned as well. And open up that fasting window to be six or, sorry, 13 hours instead of 16 hours of fasting. So you still get a little bit of that benefit, but with extra time to still enjoy a third meal and have those extra calories.
When you say add starches. So that would be vegetable starches, right? Not. Not like green based starches.
Is he like.
Oh, this is for the maintenance, I thought to add calories.
So sorry, is your husband in the maintenance phase right now or is he in the release?
No, still release. We're both still released.
Okay. So still the same thing actually applies. So you can go ahead and still open up that window to include meal, so everything is still as Is. But yes, instead of focusing on grains as your kind of primary complex carb or starch, mix in like sweet potato, beets, parsnips. And if you feel like it's still going down and you still wanted to see a bit of a difference, then you can include the grains. So doing like some rice or quinoa, something along those lines.
Okay. And this is. You're saying that is okay to add. Like, I don't think we want to go to a third meal because we were always doing two meals anyway. But you're saying it is okay to add a starch during the release phase if you don't want to lose any more weight.
That's correct. And that's only if you feel like you're happy with your set point. You want to maintain around that. That's when we go ahead and add in the starches.
Okay. Okay, I will do. I was just reading about that waist to height formula, but it was. I don't know if you ever read the Statin Free Life, I think it's called, but they were talking about that and they have it in centimeters. Could they? Oh, I guess you. Oh, you're from Canada too. So you guys.
Yes. And the cool thing is, is it works both ways. So as long as you keep the units consist, it works both ways.
And it should be half. Right. The waist should be half of your height is what I was reading last night.
So I. That's like in the absolute ideals. That's not really the. Where most of us are living these days, just because food and, you know, so many different factors play into it and how food is raised and. And agriculture and stuff. So ideally what you want to see for women is 0.85 and below, and then for men it's 0.9 and below.
Okay.
And anything closer to half, you're better off for it in terms of your metabolic health. But if you're sitting at those ranges, you're going to be really much more metabolically fit and kind of more immune to different diseases, let's say, and disorders.
Okay.
Okay.
And you said 0.85 is for women or men.
That's for women.
Okay, I got that down then. Okay, I see somebody else must have come in. So not on the stage here.
No, it was great questions. I'm sure, you know, everybody is a little curious about the same stuff. We all have something in common being here. So information, you know, it's. Four heads are way better than one, in my opinion.
So.
Welcome, Christy. Welcome, Usha. Lovely to have you. Ladies we kind of started off impromptu today because nobody signed on for the first 10 minutes. So Becca and I have just been having an intimate little chat about her reset and her husband's as well. So welcome ladies. We are chatting about any and all questions you have in regards to your journey through the release phase, maintenance phase, life there, beyond life beforehand. So any and all questions from you ladies or any shares really, please feel free to put those in either in the chat or. I love seeing your faces. Love hearing your voices as well. So if anybody wants to share, I would love seeing your beautiful faces. Something it is that you are grateful for today.
Hi Deepa. I'll kick it off. I'm Usha. I haven't started yet. I'm starting tomorrow with my loading phase.
Amazing.
And so I'm pretty excited. I had to read a few times just to understand what I'm doing and then post that. I guess Monday will be my release phase and whatnot. So I'm just starting. I'm slightly confused on some things, but something I think I'll just sort of have to go through it to fully understand what's happening and any tips and tricks would be great at this point. And I had a little surgery so my face is all a little bit distorted so I can't share my face just yet. But in. In due time it'll. It'll be fine and I'll share, no problem.
Thank you so much for sharing. Usha. Am I pronouncing your name correctly? Sorry.
Yep.
Usha.
Awesome. Nice to meet you and welcome to the program. My name is actually Alice. My apologies. My. I'm under Deepa's meeting Zoom room right now, so hence why my. My name is showing up as Deepa. So I apologize.
Yeah, you didn't look like Deepa Chohan, but yeah, you know what.
Exactly. We went through a little bit of a phase change. No. Yeah. So also so speedy recovery to you. I hope all goes well and kind of a perfect time to get started on the loading days when you kind of have to heal up and rest and take a little bit of downtime for yourself. So loading days are the hardest days of the entirety of the program. So I say that with, you know, hope that they're only two days. So really doing it on two days where you don't have too much going on. So weekends typically work best, which is great if you start tomorrow. So making sure you're not doing any sort of physical activity or your regular routines, really grazing throughout the whole day is going to be super important. You want to graze on foods such as like nuts and seeds and olives and things that are kind of small when it comes to quantity, but large when it comes to caloric intake and fat intake. And so sitting down with three large meals is just going to make you feel really heavy throughout the whole day. So as best as you can to kind of just graze, have maybe four to five meals spread out throughout the day. Keep lots of snacks on hand. We have two metabolic or sorry loading day meal plans in your metabolic reset guide. One is catered towards vegetarians, the other one is catered towards animal protein. So those are both kind of around 3,600 calories. So you can base your loading days off of those suggestions, but feel free to swap out what you don't have with some something that you do. There's no need to buy anything super extra for those two days and there's no foods that are actually off limits for those two days. So while it does definitely recommend to do a cleaner load, you will feel much better on a cleaner load. It also is a great opportunity to kind of go into your pantry, your deep freeze, like take out some of the foods that maybe aren't on plan that you'll be coming in contact with if you're interacting with your cupboard, your deep freeze and use those items for your loading days. So it could be like a see you later ice cream party, goodbye pizza party, whatever it is that you want. So really just trying your best. Don't go to the point where you are nauseous, you know, because of course that's no fun and also kind of mitigating all of the wonderful work that you've done. So I would just suggest taking it easy, you know, having some of your favorite things on hand that you can munch on, extra snacks, drizzles of olive oil on top of your vegetables, your protein. And then when it comes to calorie tracking, I recommend using just because the practice better journals, they don't have a calorie feature. You can use this website in case you're curious roughly about how many calories you're getting for those two days. I'm going to put it in the chat right now. I hope that was helpful, Usha. Good luck. And the final and actually the most important thing is making sure you start your spray for the first first time on the loading days. Taking seven sprays at 7am, 2pm and 9pm, that's going to help kind of ramp up your fat burning system for the release phase. So super important to start that too.
Yeah, perfect. And then the one question I did have. So I saw that, you know, change up your face products and creams and serums and whatnot to the. I saw that on the introduction video. I forget which one it was. The fractionated oil or something. How's petroleum jelly like Vaseline for your lips? Is that all right?
Or I would pause that for the time being just because it is a processed product. So there is and could be more kind of different ingredients inside of the petroleum based product. So if you can. If you do have any sort of fractionated coconut oil or even shea butter, those work much better in terms of the program because they're just one ingredient.
Okay, gotcha, Gotcha. Okay, cool. Thank you.
No problem. Thank you for your questions and good luck this weekend.
Thanks.
My pleasure. Becca, I saw that you had your hand up. My apologies. I don't know if you had another question or if you had your own experience to add to Usha's question, but that's still a question. You have. Feel free to share.
I was just gonna share my experience with load days because I did it. This is, you know, my second round, and I felt like I did it way better the second time than the first time. And you pretty much hit on all the points, actually, Alice. But what I changed was I really just. Even though we can have our temptation foods, you know, kind of get it out of her system, I ate some, like, gluten stuff, and it caused a lot of inflammation and just made me feel so much sicker. I really needed to be. So the second round, when I was doing the low days, I just focused on high fat foods, and it was so much easier because you have less foods because of the concentration of calories. So I did eat a lot of cheese, which I don't know. I mean, I tried to get cheeses that were less inflammatory, if that makes sense. Like, so we were putting parmesan cheese in our omelets, for example, and just help get our calories and not feel as sick. And of course, like you said, you know, start early in the morning and just eat more frequently than having these larger meals. And that really helps as well. So, anyway, good luck because it's. It's a hard phase, but it definitely felt way better without the inflammation the second time around.
Yeah. Thank you so much. It's so true. Like, anytime somebody sees the loading days initially, they get so excited. They're like, I get to eat all this food and I lose weight at the end of it, and I'm like, yeah, but wait till you get to these days. They sound fun and in part they are, but at the same time, it is quite a lot of heavy lifting. So, you know, having things that you like on hand and sometimes it's kind of good at creating an aversion. So for instance, like if you. There's been some clients that have actually gone overboard with whatever their favorite food was for those loading days, and then they created an aversion to it because they went and loaded on it so much that they're like, I can't even ever look at pizza again. Like, it just brings me back to that day. So, you know, do with that information what you will. I would say to primarily make the base of it healthy. Just so again, you're not kind of creating more of that inflammation that you don't necessarily want to take on, but whatever you do gain, you will lose. So there is that, that silver lining as well. And the release phase really is, you know, releasing not only excess weight, but just anything excess in your life that you want to let go of. So a good practice if you haven't already done so too. Usha, in your modules, the kind of first few ones are preparatory and energetically to kind of, kind of prepare for this program and prepare for releasing and just kind of new energy in your life in general. Doing a declutter and decluttering clothes that, let's say, you know, you don't want to fit into anymore, you don't want to come back to those clothes, you're ready to let go of that life. Maybe it's foods that no longer align with you that know that, you know, create inflammation or pain or, you know, whatever have you, maybe certain products that might be adding to your chemical or toxin load. So creating space is another big element that kind of is less tangible, if you will, but very energetically showing your body and, and your universe that you're ready for a change and so new things can come and fill that space. So just a couple of tidbits on how to, how to make the most out of this coming weekend.
That sounds great. Thanks for that, both of you.
My pleasure. Enjoy.
I don't know if I can now. I'm a little nervous.
Enjoy as much as you can. Let yourself enjoy.
Right?
Okay, cool.
Beautiful. Excited for you. And thank you for your share. Becca. That was awesome. I know it's those two loading days. They pack a punch when it comes to powering through them. But kudos to all of you ladies for embarking on this, for working on yourselves for deserving more out of your health, out of your life. I'm so proud of everybody here. Thank you for showing up for yourselves. Any other questions or topics or anything we wanted to touch on today or any kind of shares? Does anybody have anything fun, apart from, I guess, a lot of eating for Usha this coming weekend? Something fun that anybody is looking forward to?
Sorry, Alice, before we jump in there, can I just ask a quick question?
Of course.
How do you con. Like. So the scale has grams. Is there conversion to grams to ounces?
Yes, if you double click. I believe. I can't remember which button it is, but one of them, if you double click it, you can change from grams to ounces.
Okay, perfect.
Yes.
Good.
So I don't have to guess then?
No. And like, even if for whatever reason, it. It doesn't change. Four ounces is 113 grams. Each ounce is 28 grams, roughly. So I know there's no math involved in this program or there shouldn't be, but just in the event, that is the conversion.
Okay, great. Thank you.
No problem. My pleasure. Yeah, and Becca and I actually, before you ladies jumped on, were talking about how to determine what a good set point is. And you know, if you're on this program, maybe the first round or even maybe the second round, some people, like, could do it two, three times before, you know, they. They hit their new set point or they feel like their body is done releasing. And some people are just curious. So I say as long as you're feeling good, your energy is good, your sleep is good, your moods are good, you know you're feeling good, you can continue on the release phase or continue on whatever round you're on up to the six weeks, even if you've surpassed your weight release goal. So really, again, being in tune with how you're feeling, making sure you're feeling good and not going past, you know, the mark, if you're feeling depleted, if you're feeling shaky or anything like that, we don't want to keep going. But let's say you are ready to keep going and you feel really good, you want to keep pushing your body in that release phase direction and kind of see where it equalizes out itself. But if you do kind of want a number, if you feel like those goals and those numbers keep you more attached to a goal, then using something like the waist to height ratio is a great formula to determine kind of where a healthy set point for you is. And BMI was that marker for a long time, but it doesn't necessarily take into account all the features of weight and where, you know how much skeleton masses and your bone density and all this stuff. And people carry weight in very different areas and actually that matters a lot. So this waist to height ratio measures your visceral weight, which is your abdominal weight, and this is the weight you kind of want the least of because it's hovering around your visceral organs. So that is what can cause a lot more kind of disorder, let's say, in your body and maybe stress on the organs that are filtering, that are detoxifying, that are metabolizing things that we need processes that we need every single day to kind of not function as, as good as they can. And so this waist to height ratio, I made a post about it in our Facebook group actually this month, so about two weeks ago, on April 10th. And it goes into how to calculate what your ratio is currently at and based off of your height, what a set point should be for your waistline. So for anybody that is curious, I can tag you in the post as well so you can learn a little bit more about that. But if you want to also just allow your body to, to take you where it wants to go, be my guest. As long again, as long as you're feeling good, as long as everything is moving in a positive direction, you can, you know, go to those places and be explorational. So just a little side note in terms of how to decide where to end up in terms of weight, if you're kind of indifferent of the number, let's say.
Hey, that's awesome.
Awesome. Yes.
Sorry, I do not know how to get my camera to turn on because I would much rather have it. It says I'm in driving mode, but I'm not in the car.
That is so weird.
I, and like, I used to have my son's photo on it when he used to do zoom in preschool. So I switched that. But I can't see you, so I apologize.
That's okay. Thank you for making it on the call.
Yeah, I try every week and every week I'm like, I can't see, I can't hear. I just like, feel like a ghost. But Usha, I am so excited, excited for you to start this, like, next phase, like the loading phase, and into it. It's like, very intimidating. And I remember those feelings of like, I'm going to be starving and I'm going to be like, eating like a little bunny. And it's so much better than I had, like, ever imagined as far as meals go. And I just, my Advice is just like, encourage you to be creative with the like, handful of ingredients that you get. Like, you can be like, the recipes that the Alice posts and Deepa posts are so good. And that really motivated me to like, keep going. Instead of just eating the same carrots and, you know, celery, it was very fun to, to throw in the shrimp and the scallops with the tomatoes. So the recipes on there are excellent. And my favorite was the sorbet at the end with the cinnamon. So good luck. Let's see one of my wins. I am down, let's see, £27. I'm nearing the end of my 10 weeks and I'm kind of in, as Alice says, like the playground phase, the experiment phase of adding new foods in. And when I tell you that I like had my in laws in town and ate like a donut and the next few days my body was just so upset and angry and it was like, I didn't need that. I was like, so curious, like what my body would do. And the whole reason why I started the program was to like fight a lot of inflammation and to see it return after like a couple of days of adding in these new foods. It was very evident that that those were my triggers and the elimination of a lot of things was so helpful and just really made things evident that like, this is, is it going to be worth. So sorry, my headphones are dying. But that is, that's my, my journey. And I'm excited. I'm gonna start the, the loading phase again in a few weeks and I'm really nervous because I feel like my stomach is like so much smaller than it used to be. Whereas, like, oh, a loading phase, 5,000 calories. That's like my normal, like, I could do that, no big deal. But then you do it the second day and you're like, oh my gosh, this is a lot. So now I'm worried about doing it when I haven't been eating a lot. And the, I think the, the best advice Alice gave me was like to eat nuts. Like, I didn't realize like a handful of cashews was like hundreds of calories. And so that just like a few times really helped in between the meals and adding in the oils. So good luck.
Thank you for that, Christy, so much. And you've had such an amazing journey. It's been so wonderful to see your recreations of the meals as well. They're so inspiring on my end too, to see them and when you upload them and everything, like, Christy is a huge Foodie, actually. And she loves making gorgeous meals and baking and all this stuff. So coming on to this program, she's like, what the heck am I gonna eat? But like, here we go. And I've coined her, like the healthy foodie now because she makes these stunning meals and they're so colorful, like you're ratatouille. Come on. That needs to be.
It was so good.
Oh, and looked so, like. I could see how good it tasted just from the way it looked, like, just phenomenal. So I love what you said, too, about just kind of like, you know, taking it easy, focusing on the nuts and seeds and stuff like that. And the second time around, it is harder to do the load, like you mentioned, Cristy, because your stomach has shrunk eons at this point. But what I would recommend to kind of gear up for the second round that you're going to do is prior to the loading days, the two main loading days do, like a soft load for two to three days. So what that means is kind of adding a little bit more onto your plate, including maybe even a third meal, slowly extra snacks in between. So you kind of help to open up your stomach a little bit, too, in that period of time with the soft load. So then when the two main loading days come in, you don't have to load as much much, or I shouldn't say that.
You.
You're still going to be loading, but your stomach has expanded, so you can kind of load a little bit more food. But you've also been focusing on healthy fats kind of leading up to it. So you're doing yourself that favor of not kind of just sitting in two big loading days and. And kind of consuming all those calories.
That's.
And then.
Christy, sorry, I said that's super helpful to know.
Thank you.
Yeah, you're. You're welcome. And I'm also going to reach out to you because on your second round, you're going to be loading to a different amount because of your new goal and because of where you're starting from. So that also modifies the kind of caloric intake from time to time. So we'll chat about that too, and that'll make it a little easier as well.
Oh, okay.
Awesome.
Awesome. Yeah. Thank you for. For sharing your experiences and just, you know, even grateful that you tried the donut. While I'm not grateful the effect it had on you, you know, it's. It's important for everybody to see for themselves how they feel with the different things that they introduce to their body or do with their body, because no one's gonna know until you do it for yourself, whether it's in the, you know, in the benefit or in the not so benefit. But it's all insight. It's all valuable information. It gives you more confidence, more awareness to how you uni work, and, you know, you can just build on top of that. And those skills nobody will ever take away from you, those are yours to keep. Yours are, you know, yours completely grown, tried and true methods. So nothing to fear, you know, let mistakes be completely learning lessons. I'm here to support every step of the way. So, everybody, I'm just so proud of you for continuing to work on yourselves.
Awesome.
All right, I'll go ahead and mute myself again.
Sure, no problem. Thank you for your share, Christy.
Yeah.
Awesome chat today, ladies. Any more questions before we end off for today? It's a little bit of an earlier day. Kind of got a bit of a switchu or switcheroo in my plans for presenting today. But we can post the content. It's all about digestion, actually, so I can post the slideshow so you ladies can have this information. We've gone through it in the past before, too. But any and all questions in terms of anything in the program, I'm happy to address.
You know, sorry, Alice, I just want to ask, did, did. Did the ladies who've gone through this feel any changes in their skin or hair? And I guess that's related to the digestion. Like, did it improve or did it go to shits? I guess is my question.
Yeah, no, great question. I mean, I can answer from my own experience. And then if anybody else wants to share, please, by all means, go for it. Personally, my skin cleared up, like, almost instantly in terms of kind of like clarity, evenness, tone, texture, all of that stuff because I was hydrating properly for the first time, I think, in my life. So in terms of skin, look, it looks so much better in terms of releasing weight. Some people do have looser skin when they do go on this program and release a substantial amount. But we talk about that and we talk about ways to kind of tighten things and how to take care of your skin, your collagen, your Alex elasticity, all that jazz and hair as well. Personally, I saw a huge uptake in hair growth because I was nourishing myself properly for the first time. I don't think prior to I ever measured how many. How much protein I was having, ever ate that many fruits, in complete honesty. So I was eating so many vitamins and so Many minerals that everything on my body was just, like, happy and growing. So personally, that was my experience. But people have, you know, a slew of different experiences because everybody is so unique. So if anybody else has any. Anything to add on that, I would love to share.
Can you hear me?
Yes.
Okay. I was just going to add my 2 cents on that as well. My skin's very sensitive and reactive, and I also noticed it. It just felt brighter and more clear. And when. When I did have all of the inflammation, I just noticed even just like a cut on my skin would take so much longer to heal. And I had been planning to go in for surgery, and I was so worried about having surgery with all of this inflammation in my body and my body taking so much longer to heal. And maybe, you know, it's like once you hit your late 30s, it's like, oh, everything's just taking longer to heal. But I also think it was just the extreme amount of inflammation that I had and so on it, just like you said, adding in more water and more vitamins and. And all these, like, healthier things. My body was just functioning the way that it was supposed to, and everything felt happier and more glowy. And you can just see, like, a huge change in my complexion as well. And I was just happier and more confident, which I think does shine through your. Your complexion as well. So I agree. Yeah, I agree with what you said.
Thank you. I'm so glad that was the case for you, too. And. And I love that you touched on the point of just feeling more confident as well and, you know, more just happy overall, because that does shine through. It really does makes a difference and kind of reminds me of the nicest compliment I've ever received. And it still stays with me to this day. But I. And this was shortly after I completed the program for the first time. And so I stepped into an elevator, and there was two gentlemen just having a conversation and, you know, in their own little world. And I stepped into the elevator. We were all riding it down, and they stopped mid conversation, and they turned over and they looked at me, and they're like, you look, like, really healthy. And I was like, thanks. That was the nicest thing I could have possibly ever heard. And I wasn't even, like, like, paying attention to it. I wasn't aware of it. I was just, you know, heading somewhere. And that was what they decided to share with me. And I thought that that was such a, like, beautiful testament to how much we can care for our own bodies that other people can pick up on your degree of health, which is really cool. I see Becca has her hand raised. I would love to hear, you know, your. Your share on this topic or anything outside of it, too.
Oh, I wasn't necessarily going to add to the topic. I had a different question, but I will just say I'm, you know, I think I. Because I had fibromyalgia in my mid-30s and now I'm in my 50s. Mid-50s. And so I had to change a lot in my diet. I didn't even understand back then, but I quickly found out that I was allergic to gluten and it's highly inflammatory for me. And so I will say that I look probably younger now than 20 years ago because I look so inflamed. Like, I look at my pictures back then and I'm just inflamed. I mean, I. And I. Oh, I remember having dark, dark circles underneath my eyes and I was like, worried about it and I don't know, it was a whole mess. But definitely looking healthier because of this. I have a very similar diet to what this release phase looks like in terms of it's very clean. I actually try to avoid grains, which is similar to this diet. I. I do eat legumes, though, but what I do is I soak them so that it gets rid of the lectin, sort of like, sort of sprouting it. So for sure, the. This healthy diet improve my skin. I, like, I have a pretty good skin for 50 and I'm menopausal too. So, yeah, I definitely think this will improve your skin for sure. But it might, you know, if you end up detoxing, that's a whole nother subject. But, you know, sometimes you see pimples for the short term, but that's just stuff coming out, needs to come out.
Yes. Thank you, Becca. And share any and all of your skin care tips with us. I'm a skincare junkie. Would love to know, but you're. You're right in terms of the detox. Something to also keep in mind is the first week or two or sometimes a little bit longer for people. You could be detoxing. And so you will see those little bumps. You might see discoloration or just some acne coming up because your skin is your largest organ, so it kind of shows up on there the fastest. But that's your body getting rid of those toxins and so drinking lots of water, getting a good sweat in. Like if you have access to a sauna, infrared sauna, or, you know, even a portable Sauna, anything along those lines, it helps you to bust through that detox kind of era of the program a little bit faster and a little bit more pain free. Not that it is painful, but for some people it can be, you know, a little bit longer, more dragged out. So just hydration, elimination and just sweating are going to be your best friends.
So the question, Can I ask my question that came up for me when you mentioned. So when you mentioned about digestion, I was thinking when sometimes I have had in the past and I was before the second, second reset, what causes like overwhelming cravings and lack of satiation. I kind of went to Pendulum products. I need to go back to it maybe. But if you have any tips on that, just the lack of satiety. This is not obviously during the release or this is not about the program. It's like after the program, once you're off of it for quite a while, it possibly could have been triggered because I do eat rice. I'm of South Asian descent, so rice and curry and. But Deepa's definitely said like I probably have some kind of sensitivity to rice now. Like no, but I don't have any satiation with eating rice. It's like I just want to keep eating. Especially if you eat something like biryani. I don't know if you know what that is. It's like a pilau.
So good. Indian cooking is one of my favorites because it's so flavorful, it's so delicious. And you know, often it's vegan too, which is even better. So when it comes to the satiety, there's really two things. Three things that I would focus on and really pay attention to. The first one being sleep. That's huge. So in sleep, specifically between the hours of 10 to 2 is when your body balances out all of its hormones. Bye Usha, thank you so much for joining. Have a great weekend. Good luck again with the load.
Thank you everyone. Bye bye.
Bye. Take care. So when it comes to, yeah, balancing out your hormones and specifically your satiety, it's leptin and ghrelin, who are the managers of that, which are your hormones that get regulated at night. So if you're having dysregulated sleep or not optimal sleep, that could be where the non satiety could be coming from. The second thing could be stress. If you're under stress, your body is just constantly craving energy and resources and it usually does that in the form of carbs, starches and sugars because they are the fastest forms of energy. So that could be a second piece to it if you're experiencing more stress or maybe if you don't even know that you're experiencing stress or you're not having it in your kind of like your mental world world, maybe looking into your chemical world, maybe looking into your emotional world, your spiritual world, those things can be kind of stressful over layers on your life too. And the number three, lack of proper hydration. So I know you've been working on this for quite some time and your hydration has been much better. But that could also be a sign because typically when we're feeling none satiated, it's not. Or when we're craving and we're hungry, often it's actually a dehydration response. It's not a full blown hunger cue. Our body doesn't have separate cues. I don't know why they didn't include it. It would have been great if they did. We probably would eat a lot less. But oftentimes it is a dehydration response. So grabbing a glass of water or herbal tea or you know, even maybe sparkling water, if you enjoy your 8 ounces from time to time, enjoying that waiting 15, 20 minutes and then seeing if you're still hungry. And if you are, then going ahead and grabbing something light, maybe cucumbers, something like that, or celery sticks. You know, whether you're on the release or off the release, it'll still help and keep a good fasting state. So those would be the three things I would really take a look at. And especially the sleep. I would say that would be the biggest thing too.
You.
Yeah, I actually do think it might be the sleep because it's, you know, can't. Like last night was just a random night and I couldn't sleep. I went to bed. You know what's considered early for me, which is 11, and I toss and turn till 2. And that's very rare. But now I'm gonna keep an eye out on my appetite today because I don't think I, I don't think I was tracking the two together. If the appetite goes up with the lack of sleep, which we learned in our modules, but I guess I just didn't think about that. But I bet that's what it is. I really think that's what it is. And so just to, if I do have a bad night of sleep, just basically eat the fiber like the celery cucumbers and drink lots of water. Anything else else I should be doing on, on those days that I have bad Sleep where I really just couldn't control it.
I would say give your body a little bit more of that nourishment if it's calling for it, but do it in ways that are helpful and that actually still are a vehicle of nutrient dense foods. So you could include, you know, a few more calories because that's also going to put your body into a safe mode by you craving something and then giving it something healthy. It feels like you're listening to it and you're actually feeding it when it's asking you to be fed. But at the same time, I would say today, go to bed a little bit earlier, make up for the lost sleep that you, you know, you tried to have the previous night. It just didn't work out in your favor. Try to get to bed maybe a little earlier than you did yesterday, even though I know yesterday was early for you and that was a great move that you made. Do a relaxing wind down routine. Our bodies sometimes can't just go from like being on and then just being completely off off. It needs to have a little bit of that wean off period where you're, you're slowly, you know, getting ready for bed. Doing your, you know, skincare routine or doing your shower, having some nighttime tea as well is really helpful with magnesium. Calming the nervous system from inside is really, really important. And that'll help just to kind of relax your muscles, relax your brain, so that when you do go to sleep, you'll actually be tired and ready to go to sleep. And one of the best ways is to be surrounded by red light at night. It's huge when it comes to regulating your sleep and actually getting you tired to go to sleep. So immersing yourself in red light or something like salt lamps, something that is a warm orange, red hue, is going to actually increase your melatonin production. So that's going to be really key as you're kind of passively getting ready to go to bed, just to have red lights on wherever it is that you are. And then number two, if you wake up early, kind of around when the sun comes up, or whenever it is that you wake up, try your best to immediately get outside and get a couple minutes of sunshine because that will be boosting your serotonin production. It's suppressing melatonin. So your energy starts kind of going up, your happiness starts going up. And then at the end of the day, that extra serotonin you produce from the morning sunshine is actually broken down into more melatonin. So it's this beautiful kind of feedback loop. So for today, definitely focus on hydration. Definitely give yourself a little bit more starches if you feel like you need it. And again, focusing on nutrient dense sources. Getting to bed a little bit earlier and doing a relaxing routine tomorrow, if you can, two minutes outside as much skin. I know we're getting a little bit nicer weather so it makes it a little easier. But as much skin outside to help your sleep the following night, too.
Okay, I will do that then. Thank you so much.
