Welcome to the first episode of the Moving Mastery Podcast. My name is Louis Massaro. I'm the founder and CEO of Moving Mastery, a mentoring, coaching and education company dedicated to helping entrepreneurs in the moving industry increase profits by implementing proven strategies in marketing, sales, operations, leadership and getting their mindset right to be able to really get to that next level in their business. We've helped hundreds of moving companies transform their business and break through to the next level of success by unlocking their full potential through our monthly training programs, our online courses, our live seminars and our coaching programs as well. This podcast will be the place that you could come every week and walk away with new ideas, strategies, best practices, habits, perspective to take your moving company to the next level. This will be where you can come and learn what's working now, the new strategies, the new marketing, the new tools that you're going to need if you wanna take your moving company to the next level. So if that's what you wanna do, you're in the right place. Because you know what, there's nothing worse than setting up a business that you're working for the business and the business isn't working for you, right? For me, it's all about profiting in business and thriving in life. And you cannot thrive in life if your business isn't producing a profit consistently. Right? And even if your business is producing that consistent profit, but it comes with stress and aggravation and, you know, chaos, that's not good either. So this podcast is going to basically, you know, my goal here is to give you the tools and the strategies and, you know, everything that I use to build my company from two rental trucks as a 19 year old kid to a $20 million a year nationwide moving company. I'm also going to share what's working with my clients and my coaching clients and my students. And to help you rid yourself of the stress, rid yourself of the worry and produce, you know, have a business that produces a consistent cash flow for you, right? I mean, imagine what it would be like if you had a business that instead of worrying about when the next dollar's gonna come in, worrying about when the next move's gonna get booked, worrying about which employees are gonna show up. Imagine if you had a system and a process to where your business ran like a well oiled machine. I know that sounds cliche, but let's say it ran Like a well oiled machine to where all you had to do was a little maintenance here and there. All you had to do was direct that machine where you wanted it to go as the leader of the company as opposed to, you know, basically having a business to create a job for yourself. So I've seen too many business owners in the moving industry that are not living the quality of life that they should. It's my mission to help those companies reach higher levels of success. Because when you're not worried about when the next job's coming in, when you're not worried about the money, you can do a better job servicing your clients. It's a win win for everybody. You make more money, your clients get a better service. The public has better companies to choose from when it comes to their next move. And that's my mission, that's my goal, is to help everybody in this industry elevate their level of service, but also elevate their income to a level that they deserve. Because you know what, there's a lot of liability, there's a lot of responsibility, and there's a lot of stress that goes along with the moving business. If you're going to be in this business, you deserve to make a lot of money, period. If you want to do things the right way, if you want to take care of your customers, why not set up some systems? Why not set up some processes that will allow you to, to do that much easier? Okay, that's the point of this podcast. I want to share what I've used. I want to share what's working today. I want to be able to give some feedback. I get messages and emails every day on social media and different platforms asking me different questions, and it's just impossible for me to answer all of them. We have our online training programs, we have our monthly training, we do live seminars. I do coaching, group coaching. But for the people that are sending in questions, I wanted a platform where I could help answer some of those questions. Be able to provide, you know, some very valuable free information where you can take it and apply it to your moving company and see results right away. All right, so let me tell you what you could expect from this podcast. You could expect some valuable insights, lessons, strategies, habits, tools, processes, specifically for moving company owners who want to take their business to the next level. Okay. I'll share what worked with me on my journey, starting from two rental trucks working out of a truck rental yard to $20 million a year. I'll also share the mistakes that I made along the way. And the pitfalls that you need to avoid if you want a long term success in this business. I'll share what's working for hundreds of our clients. It's completely transforming their moving companies and improving their life. And I'll share the mindset and the way of looking at the business that you're gonna need if you're really gonna succeed at higher levels. I'll be sharing tactical stuff that you could apply to your business. I will not be wasting your time with a bunch of chit chat. Right? So when you're listening to these episodes, make sure you have your notepad out, make sure you have your pen out, make sure you open up the app on your phone that you take notes with and implement this stuff. Alright? I'm doing this podcast to be able to help as many people as I can reach that level of success that they want to get to. Reach that level of success that they deserve to get to if they're out there every day working hard to do it. Let me tell you who this podcast is for. Anyone that wants to take their moving company to the next level and master the key areas of their business that they need to get there. All right? This is not only for owners, but also for managers, also for employees. Listen, if you work at a moving company and, and you see the value of going above and beyond and doing extra work for your company and providing value to be able to kind of rise up within the company, this is for you as well. This is for local moving companies, long distance moving companies, independent companies, van line agents, franchises, big companies, small companies, everything in between. It doesn't matter what type of company, it doesn't matter what size of company. All that matters is that you're open to learning new ideas and you have the desire to improve your business. That's it. Our clients range anywhere from the small mom and pop to large franchise agents. I'm sorry, large franchises and van line agents as well. And that's who's going to be listening to this podcast. That's who this information will help. So if you, if that's you listen to the podcast, listen to the future episodes, if you like it, continue to listen to it. If you don't like it and it's not for you, you don't like me, you don't like the sound of my voice, then you know what? It's not for you. And that's okay. It's not gonna be for everybody. But I'm here to provide value. I'm here to help you grow and get to that next level. So let me start by just kind of sharing a little bit about me. I'm telling you all this stuff about what you're going to learn and what I'm going to teach you and what I'm going to have some amazing guests and expert speakers that are going to come on and join us and share their perspective as well. But where do I have the right to share this information? Right? How do I know what I know about the moving business? How can I talk to people and teach strategies on becoming more successful? So let me just kind of talk to you about my story, where I started and how I got here today. I figure this is the first episode, let us get to know each other a little bit. Let me kind of share my story, which, you know, you probably haven't heard. So I think it'd be a good time to just, you know, get to know one another and let you know where I'm coming from. So I already told you earlier that I am founder and CEO of Moving Mastery. We're a coaching, mentoring and education company. But it didn't start there. I started. At 19 years old, I had an opportunity to open up a moving company. I opened up my first moving company in Denver, Colorado. Name of my company was Neighbors Moving In Storage. And I was a 19 year old kid. I didn't have any money. I rented two trucks, worked out of a truck rental yard, Penske Truck Rental Yard. I kept my trucks parked there. And every morning I would drive there and dispatch the trucks. Right. I would start it by putting an ad in the paper and hiring movers, having them come meet me at the truck rental yard for an interview. And you know, they were, they were laughing at me. They thought it was a joke. I mean, I was this young looking 19 year old kid sitting in my car, trying to interview him in my car. And so, you know, it wasn't an easy start. And I know a lot of you have a very similar story to the way that you started. But I want to kind of show you the progression and how it moved on from there. So, you know, every day I would go and I would dispatch the trucks. I had a yellow page ad which the phone number was forwarded to my cell phone and I was basically answering calls from home. I would drive to the truck runner yard, dispatch the trucks and then I would spend all day going from apartment complex to apartment complex to real estate office to apartment complex to real estate office, rounding up business. And you know, at first I didn't even really, you know, I didn't have any special folders. I had a business card. I would literally go there in my jeans and a company sweatshirt and just walk in, start talking to them. And I started rounding up some business that way. You know, I was receiving phone calls all day from the yellow page ad and would pull over and give everybody a quote, give them an estimate. And quite frankly, at first I had no idea what I was doing, right? Everybody that called, they got a three man job. That was it. It didn't matter if you had a one bedroom or studio or if you had a 12,000 square foot home. I didn't know how to quote, I didn't know how to estimate. You called in, I quoted you three men in a truck and I gave you that price. And you know, I quickly learned that that's an issue and that I needed to learn to start estimating moves. And as I tell you this story, and as you get to know me a little bit better, you'll understand that a big theme for me and a big reason for my success was the fact that I knew that I didn't know everything. Right. I accepted the fact that there was so much that I didn't know and I was eager to learn those things, right? For example, estimating moves. Well, how did I know that? Well, when customers are calling and screaming at you because you basically sent one truck and three men to a job that's going to take them all week to get done with one truck and three men, you learn that that's not the right way to do it. So as I would have different issues and as I would have different obstacles that I was trying to overcome, I had this little black book that I kept in my back pocket. It was kind of like a little phone book. But I kept my notes in there and I would write down everything that I needed to find a solution to, right? So as I was kind of going on this journey, I would figure out an issue and look for a solution. I would go and I'd go to Barnes and Noble and read books. I'd start calling anyone I knew that was in business that could share some information with me. And that's really what started me on the path that I was on to, you know, a continual education, self education process. I mean, even till today, that's something that I highly value is, you know, self education. If there's something that you need to learn that's going to help you get to that next level, you need to go learn it. And that was a philosophy that I adopted early on and I really attribute that to my success. So anyways, you know, I kept. I kept at it, you know, I just kept hustling, working out of the truck rental yard and, you know, booking the moves. And I was really started to do well. I mean, after like three months, I went and negotiated a deal on a warehouse. Place had no carpet. It was just like ripped up. You know, like the carpet was there at one point, but now it was ripped up and you could see the glue. But landlord said, listen, if you take it as is, I'll give you this deal. So I moved into the warehouse and, you know, it started to become more official, right? I started to take on some storage. As I had the money, I would start buying storage vaults, either, you know, 10 or 20 at a time and building those up and start doing storage as well, right. After maybe about six months, I recruited one of my friends who was on summer break from college, had him come out for the summer to help me, and he ended up staying and being a big part of the organization for several years. And at the beginning, it was just, you know, straight hustle, you know, there wasn't a lot of systems in place because I was learning them and I was starting to develop them, but they were getting developed by every single time that something happened that went wrong. My question was, you know, how can I prevent this from happening again? Right? This was an issue. How could I prevent it from happening again? And that's what allowed me to quickly turn things around and find better solutions for each and everything that we were doing.
You know, I mean, it was, you know, ordering trucks. I started, you know, order my first truck, you know, got the specs, ordered a, you know, manual truck with a stick shift, quickly learned that the drivers were going to burn through the clutch. These local drivers that didn't have CDLs and, you know, weren't really equipped to be driving a manual transmission, were burning my clutches, right? So you learn to start buying automatic trucks, right? You know, in the winter. I started the company in February. If you don't have your trucks plugged into an engine block heater, your diesel is gonna gel up and the truck's not gonna start, right? So, you know, you learn. I learned all this stuff the hard way, right? Trucks don't start. I have to figure out what to do. The mechanic I have on call can't come, but he's like, hey, I could walk you through how to do it over the phone. So now I'm in the hood of the truck, you know, letting out the. If anybody, anybody that's in the cold climates. You know exactly what I'm talking about, right? So I start letting out the valve stuff spraying all over my face.
You know, you just learn everything the hard way.
But it was that constant, constant, constant desire to learn how to overcome these challenges and not just accept them as part of the business or accept them as the way that they are. And within a matter of two years, we were the largest local moving company in Denver. I mean, we were, you know, really dominating based on, you know, the. The ability to sell over the phone, first and foremost. I mean, I, in high school, spent time working at a call center where we were selling vacation packages. And, you know, I learned, you know, the art of having a script and rebuttals and how to close deals and how to sell. And that really helped to elevate the company quickly in those first couple of years. And once we got to that point, I was like, hey, let's expand, let's grow, let's open additional locations.
I had some processes down, not all of them that I wanted or that I really needed before I started to expand. But I said, you know what? This is running. I could duplicate this in other locations. So that's what I did. I started to open up additional locations.
The first, my third year in business, I opened up three additional locations throughout the country. And it was a whole different animal. It was totally different than running one office. When you run one office, you're there, you see everything. You know, what's going on. You could kind of touch it and feel it and see it. Well, when you have remote locations out of state, you need a whole different way of managing those locations. Right? So, you know, again, I learned from that. I started to dive into, you know, business process because now I knew I needed to have my processes in writing so that the people in those locations knew exactly what to do. Right? It wasn't like, hey, I trained you in our Denver office. Now go and do it and try to remember everything that I taught you and do it the way that, you know, did I do it here Instead, I realized that I needed things in writing. I needed processes in writing, and I needed everybody doing things the right way. Because, you know, even over the next couple of years, I continued to open more offices. And, you know, why is it some offices were doing really well and some offices needed help? Well, it was because of that inconsistency in the way things were being done. So, you know, I started to, you know, hire consultants to learn business process, you know, read books on business process, and Start to develop systems and ways of doing things that are consistent. Right. Like, if this happens, then you do that. If this happens, then you do that. And you do these things exactly in this order. And that's how you do it. And that's really what you need to know in order to run any successful business even before you start to expand. So that's something that I wish I had done before I even expanded. Right. Was put those things, you know, in writing, in detail before the expansion. But I had to backtrack a little bit in order to do that. Right. You know, I was young. I was. You know, I opened up my additional. You know, by the time I was 23, I had six locations throughout the US and I decided that it was time to open a call center. I wanted to make sure that the consistent sales that we had had at the beginning were happening in all of our locations. And I realized that it wasn't going to happen if each location was operating independently on their own to handle sales. So I opened the call center where we started to handle sales for our companies. And I didn't know anything about call centers. I mean, you know, it was. It was a whole new learning experience. Right? So I went to call center conventions. I hired a consultant, I hired a sales manager with a ton of experience that at least I thought was going to be the person that I needed to help set this all up. And again, every day, as you went through each struggle, the question was, all right, how can we prevent this from happening again, and how can we make this operate and run better? Right? It's running okay, but how can it run better? So, you know, really spent my time diving into getting this call center on point because, you know, it doesn't really matter how great of a job you do in each location if you don't have moves booked on the board. Right? You need that consistent flow of business, period. I mean, that's. You know, there's. You could fix everything else, but if you don't have business, then, you know, there's no movers to train. There's no processes to create. And I knew that, and I realized that early on. And, you know, opening that call center was really the best thing I did because it really allowed me to become even more efficient and develop even better processes over time.
You know, because of, you know, the size of the company in its, you know, as a whole. Right. So, you know, these are some of the same processes I teach now in moving Sales Academy that, you know, because of the ability to grow into that call center and develop those processes. I was able to, you know, really get those down, get those documented and that stuff that can be applied to, you know, even smaller moving companies now. But, you know, it was really a blessing to be able to set up that call center and learn everything I did because it really just helped to keep the sales coming and keep them going. And we did that for a few years. And it was running, it was running great, you know, local moves only. I didn't even do long distance. Every long distance move, every, you know, person that would call and say, hey, I want to move long distance, we'd say, we're only a local moving company and we'd give them, you know, we'd refer them out to a long distance company and that was it. I mean, not even refer them as in get a commission. We just literally said, hey, why don't you try calling this company? And that was it. And then in 2007, I said, you know what, it's time to get into long distance. Let me start booking some long distance moves. Let me buy some trucks. So, you know, at this point we had, you know, six offices throughout the country. And I said, all right, I have all this work coming out of all these locations. This is a huge division that could, you know, open up and get going right away. So I place, I bought a million two in trucks. I spent a million two getting 12 trucks, brand new trucks, tractor trailers, you know, custom 30 foot straight trucks. Everything that we needed to launch our interstate division. And.
It was challenging, the same way that it was challenging to start the local company at the beginning because it's a totally different business. Yes, you're moving people from point A to point B, but point A to point B are much further away. You most of the time will have more than one person on the truck. The delivery and the delivery spreads are not, hey, we'll pick you up at 8 o' clock and deliver you at 11am it's different. So, you know, there's people out there that they specialize in long distance and people that specialize in local. And at that time, my specialty and the processes and everything we had in place was for local moves. We were doing very, very well with local moves. And now we got into long distance, so we had to learn that completely, you know, so that's, you know, 2007 and 2008 comes around. And those you who are in business in 2008 know how tough that was, you know, with the recession, not only with the recession, but with the, you know, change in the way that marketing was handled at that time, between my locations, we were spending $250,000 a month in yellow pages. Well, 2007, 2008. I don't remember exactly when it was that the iPhone came out, but that kind of marked the time for me in history when people really made the shift to searching for services that they need online. Right. You'll hear me talk a lot about diversifying your marketing. Right. To spreading out your marketing dollars into different sources and not relying on one source as long as each individual source is profitable. And I learned that the hard way. When you know you're spending that kind of money every month on yellow pages and they just stop working, you know, it wasn't that they stopped working completely that we were still getting calls, but not at the level that we should be getting for the money that we were spending. So now I have to scramble to learn different ways of marketing. I mean, from 2000 to 2007, 2008, that was my main source of marketing. Yes, we did other stuff, and I'll talk about that in future episodes, but it was the main source of marketing. Most of my eggs were in that basket. And that's when I said, all right, I need to learn Internet marketing. I need to learn online marketing, SEO, pay per click, leads, everything that was coming online, because that was the future. We're going back 10 years. We all know that that's the reality today, but we're talking about 10 years ago. And so I made that my learning mission over time. I've always had these learning missions to where there's something that I need to learn, and I don't just dabble in it. You know, I'll dive in and really learn that subject if I know it's going to improve my life, improve my business. Because, you know, I'm a big believer that we can all really achieve what we want to achieve if we set our minds to it. Right. And it sounds like something your grandmother would say to you, but it's really true. I mean, it's just, are you willing to go out there and get the information that you need? Because sometimes, you know, all you need is a little bit more information. Sometimes all you need is a little bit more motivation.
When you know how to do something, when you have the competence of how to do something, you then become more confident. If you know how to do something, aren't you confident at doing it? But if you're doing something for the first time, you're not confident at doing it.
I learned a lot of psychology along the way too. And there's something called the competence confidence loop. And when you become more confident at something, you become more confident. And when you become more confident, you'll then go out and learn more stuff to become more competent. And it just goes around and around. So for me, that's always again, been a big part and that's reason I started Moving Mastery is to provide that dedicated, specialized information, knowledge and training specifically for people in the moving business. Because all this stuff I was going out and learning was not specifically for the moving business. I catered it and applied it and customized it to the moving business, but it wasn't for that. So online marketing, I learned everything that I could on SEO, pay per click online marketing, how to generate leads. Because as good as we were, and I trained my people to be on the phones and booking moves and going out and doing on sites. If there was no leads coming in, well then, you know, it's like there's no fuel going into your machine, right? So you needed to have the lead. So that was a whole new thing. And you know what? It was another blessing in disguise. Because even though at the time it felt like.
Felt like the world was coming to an end, it was like, oh my God, where are we going to get business from?
I knew things were shifting online, but I didn't realize how you could do it. Everybody that you talked to didn't really have anything positive to say about it, or they would say everything's shifting online, but didn't really have the answers on how to get the business from online.
Again, hiring consultants, SEO firms to not only do the work, but to teach me the work. I mean, everything that I learn, even to this day, before I hire somebody to do it, I want to learn how to do it first. And then I could hire somebody to do it and run it for me, right? So if I'm going to hire somebody to do, you know, the SEO, I want to understand it first and then hire them to do it. So that's just personal preference of mine. And so I learned that. Right? But you're still in the middle of the recession and at this point, I didn't even really know my numbers. Right? You'll hear me talk a lot about knowing your numbers and reviewing your profit and loss statements and knowing your marketing ROI and your cash flow because without that, you're in deep trouble, right? I was able to not review those numbers from, you know, 2000 to 2008 because the companies were doing so well. And you know, here I was, a young kid you know, coming up in the business and making money. And it was really a matter of, okay, well, how much is in the bank account, how many, what are the bills? Let's pay the bills. What's left over? Okay, I could take that out and pay myself that, and we still have enough to keep the business going. That was how I ran it, and I know that's how a lot of people still run it today. But what I can tell you is that when things got tight around the recession, it forced me to finally listen to my cpa, who had been telling me this from day one, to really dive into my profit and loss statements, to make it a priority to review those every single month. And so that's what I started to do. And it just opened up an entire new world of possibilities in business for me. Things that I could not see before, I could now see. Right. It was like. It was like I was blind, and then I could see. I mean, it's. If only if you've experienced that, will you understand what I'm saying. So, you know, in future episodes, you'll hear me talk about it. A lot of our training consists around knowing your numbers and being able to benchmark where you're at and make changes based on that information.
So that was a huge, huge lesson that I learned, again, from asking, like, how could I prevent this from happening again? How can I prevent a recession coming and things getting tight financially? And the answer was to have my thumb on top of the numbers to where I knew exactly where we were at. Not like, you know, oh, my God, we're running out of money, but, you know, more. You see the trend happening month after month, and you could, you know, fix it before it happens. Right? So, you know, that was a huge, huge turning point for me to be able to really run my business now off of numbers, you know, from that point forward. That was, you know, again, 2008, it was, you know, I didn't run my business just off emotion anymore. I mean, the numbers don't lie. The numbers can tell you exactly what's going on if you have them configured, if you, you know, put your attention on them and really, you know, honor those numbers and what they mean. Right. You know, before then, the P and L to me was just something that you gave to the accountant to file the taxes. Right? But it's not. It's a powerful, powerful tool that you can use, really, to guide and lead your business to success. So, anyways, that's another lesson that you learn through these hard times, and the reason for this podcast. The reason that I'm doing what I'm doing is I don't want anybody listening to have to go through these tough times. I want to be able to share what can happen, what the pitfalls are, what the problems are, what to look out for, what to, you know, not doing your business as well, and what to start implementing habits wise, process wise, best practice wise, that will allow you to succeed, but also not to fail. Because, you know, in business it's, it's, you know, first and foremost, it's a matter of survival, right? So you don't want something like a 2008 to come along and put you out of business because it put a lot of people out of business, put a lot of moving companies out of business. I mean, it knocked me on my heels. But we stayed in business because I regrouped and did things smarter from that point on, you know, so, you know, that's really, you know, my journey in the moving business. A couple years later, I decided to sell my long distance division and become a broker. Long distance broker. We were still. I still had all my local moving companies, but decided to start brokering the long distance just because it was, you know, there was. There was a lot of work with all the trucks all over the country and our locations were completely spread out. You know, we didn't plan on long distance. When we opened the locations, they were open strictly for the, you know, market research that was done to see if a local moving company would be profitable there. So we had trucks running all over the place and our sales were rocking. You know, the call center was, I mean, as systematic as it could get and decided to sell the trucks. So became a broker, and I'll talk about that in future episodes. But that, you know, led down a path that was just very hard to control because now you're just booking the move and you're not, you know, really in charge of what happens after that. You know, you're counting on the carriers to service the moves. And, you know, it actually led me to get into some legal trouble and I'll. I'm gonna do a whole episode on that in the future, kind of dive into that, what you could do to avoid that. But yeah, so, you know, a few more years later, up until, you know, 2016, when I decided to completely get out of the business and sell my companies and start helping others to avoid these pitfalls. And I just felt like there was so many.
Different scenarios that I had been in. Starting from scratch with no money, local moving company expanding to Other locations, taking on partners, taking on licensees, taking on.
You know, starting long distance, having a call center, going into brokering, you know, navigating through the recession, right? And I wanted to be able to share that information because as I got out of the business, I had, you know, people that I knew in the business reach out to me with, you know, issues they were having. And I kind of informally started coaching them without, you know, realizing it and saw some major results for them. And so, you know what? Let me do this. I want to help people. Because you know what? It was really tough, you know, not to mention that up until about 2000, until that time frame where I started reviewing my financials, like 2008, period, I didn't really, you know, focus on my life, right? I focused on business. I focused on making money. And I can tell you that if you make a bunch of money.
You could be bringing home seven figures a year for yourself personally. But if you're not balanced, you're not going to be happy. The money doesn't necessarily buy happiness. I'd rather have the money than not have the money. But I started to focus on, all right, how can I.
Live a good quality of life? How can I. You'll hear me say a lot, my catchphrase, which is, you know, profit in business and thrive in life, right? Because if you're just profiting in business.
It'S. It doesn't really make for a good existence, right? And it's. It's something that I allow myself for a lot of years to, you know, kind of make the excuse, like, you know, I'm young, I'm on the grind, I'm getting this going, and didn't really, you know, focus too much on my personal life, right? I, you know, I wasn't out there partying. I wasn't, you know.
You know, it was work for me, it was building the business for me. And what I can tell you now after going through all that is it doesn't have to be that way. You can do both. And I started to do both, right? Like 10 years ago, I started to do both, and it just changed everything. When you have the systems in place, the processes in place, when you then have the good people to run those systems, and you now put a focus on enjoying your life, you can step away from the business, because now you're working on the business, you're not working in the business, and you could start to enjoy your life. So for me, this podcast, too, is not just about go out there, you know, I'm Not a big believer. And just hustle, hustle, hustle. You know, that's what you need to do when you're like, literally first starting, right? But after the first year, it can't be all about hustle. You have to work smarter than that. All right? And that might hit home. You know, I might be touching a sore spot for some of you that, you know, that's kind of been your M.O. your whole way in business. And I just hope that I can kind of, you know, shed some light on how you can, you know, not only make the same money you're making now without that level of, you know, grind and hustle, but actually be able to become a better business person and a better leader and make more money by being able to step back and look at your business from the standpoint of a CEO and zoom out and look at the big picture as opposed to just having your head down in the day to day. Right? So listen, that's essentially a little bit about my story. That's how I got to this point of where I am today. And now we're on a new journey together. This is my first podcast, right? So if this was a terrible podcast, if this wasn't good, let me know because I'm going to. I promise to get better at this because that's, you know what, that's just part of what I do. I mean, if I'm gonna do something, I'm gonna do it well, right? The first time. Maybe it's not the best. Same thing with you, right? Same thing with me when I started my moving company, right? Maybe there's something you need to do. Maybe there's something you need to try or take that leap and take that step, but you're nervous that it might not go well. You know what, you're only gonna know if you try, right? So that's what I'm doing with this podcast right now. I'm committed to doing it. I'm gonna keep doing it only if it's helpful to you guys. So, you know, we're on this journey together. Let me know, you know, let me know what's helpful for you. Let me know what information you need to hear. Let me know, you know, which episodes you like, which formats you like, what you're learning, what you're taking away, is it motivating you? Is it helping you?
And in the future episodes, if there's stuff that you're really taking away from it, I'd love for you to go and leave me a review on Apple podcasts, on itunes.
So I could gauge what is it you guys want? Are you liking this? Are you not liking this?
I promise that each future episode will not be me just telling my story of how I got in the business and everything like that. It's going to be tactical takeaways, strategical stuff. Not a lot of chit chat and just talking and conversation. It's going to be like, hey, here's something that's working. Here's how you can apply it to your business. Here's the steps to do it. Go do this, try this, implement this. See if it works. Maybe you take something from it and you don't take my exact idea of what worked for me or what's working for my clients, but just hearing it sparks an idea that makes you think of something even better, right? I mean, you know, sometimes just hearing one thing can spark a major idea or a major spark of inspiration that'll really set off a chain of events that could change your business and change your life forever. So, you know, let me know, you know, send me a message. I communicate on this podcast through Instagram and itunes, Apple podcasts. So, you know, themovingmasterypodcast. Let me know what you think. Let me know what information you need to know. Send me a message, send me a DM and let me know what you guys want to hear. What I could help you with all future episodes, you're gonna see that it's all tactical stuff you can implement. And I'm doing this for you. So I'd love to know I'm not just here talking to myself. Listen to the other episodes that are already up. Let me know what you think. All right? But I want to let you know that no matter what level you're at now, and listen when I say this. If you're just starting out, okay, or maybe you work for a moving company and you have the idea of opening a moving company one day, or you're just starting out, or maybe you've been in the business for, you know, 20 years and you're just so used to doing things one way, but you know that you need to make a shift and, you know, you need to make a change. Here's what I can tell you. There is a next level for everybody, okay? I don't care if you have, you know, 20 locations throughout the US or in other parts of the world. I know we have people listening from all over the world, and, you know, you're doing, you know, 20, $30 million a year. There is another level for you. So if that's where you want to go, just know you can get there. And my hope is that this podcast will help spark some inspiration, spark some ideas, give you the motivation, the tools, the strategies, the habits, the best practices. You know, create a community to really help support you along the way in your journey and your growth so that you could fulfill your dreams and build the business you want to build. And my friend, I can tell you that I'm just honored to be here. I'm honored to serve you and be a part of it. And until I see you or speak to you or listen with you on the next podcast, go out there every single day. Profit in your business and thrive in your life. Talk to you soon.
