The Only Thing That Hasn't Changed In 26 Years

Louis Massaro says 26 years in moving comes down to two things: booking moves and servicing them well enough that customers come back. Marketing and AI change, but the fundamentals don't. When you're lost, focus on following up leads and delivering what you promised.

The moving business has not changed in 26 years. There's two things you've got to do: book moves, service moves. Book moves, service moves, with a result, with a goal of what you're trying to accomplish each and every time is a raving fan, a customer that's going to use you again, leave a good review, uh, use additional services that you may offer, and high profits. Meaning you can't just do moves for the sake of doing moves. They they've got to be profitable, right? So when we think about this in the course of time, it's 26 years this year I've been in the business, and I've watched things shift from the way we market to the way we use technology. And all of those things are great, and how we apply AI today and how we apply automation today. But when it comes down to it, book moves, service moves, do a good job for the customer and make sure that it's profitable has not changed. So when you get overwhelmed, when you think about all the things you need to do. Come back to the basics today. What are you doing to book more moves? What do you actually have control over? What leads could you actually call back or direct somebody on your team to call back to get more jobs booked? On the service side, how do you ensure that you're doing a great job, that you're delivering on the promises that you made to the customer on that call, right, or in that estimate? That you're delivering on those? And then how are you also looking to extend that relationship with the customer beyond the last item coming off the truck? Think about those 3 things. Leave me a comment down below. Let me know how you could take all of these things that you probably are thinking about right now and bring it down and simplify it. Book moves, service moves, raving fans, high profits, repeat, right? Stick to the basics. Let's go win this week, guys.
