Hey, my friends, it's Luis Massaro. And welcome to another episode of the Moving Mastery Podcast.
Good evening, Facebook. What's going on? So listen, if you're interested, by the way, and work with me over the next year. I do work with a small group, my Mastermind program. It's called the Flagship Experience. If it's something that you'd like to do, if you'd like to have me help you scale your business over the next year, just go to talktolewis.com and you'll get more information there. It is application only. So, you know, make sure you fill out the application. We'll let you know either way. But so, yeah, so, you know, I get a lot of questions about Louis. You know, people kind of want to figure out how to get to their first million, right? That, that's kind of the question that comes up a lot. But typically, usually when I'm dealing with, you know, people that are my one on one clients or prospective one on one clients or people that are joining our Mastermind program, it's more about how do I get to that next million or, right, they're already at seven figures. They want to go to multiple seven figures or they want to go to eight figures. And you know, it's a really, really.
Unique place to be, right? Because if you've already had that level of success, if you're already at seven figures in your business, like you really, you know, you broke the million dollar mark, maybe you, you know, broke a few million dollar mark, but now you want to scale, now you want to grow. This is where it starts to get challenging, right? Because if you are already there, by the way, let me know in the comments who's there, who's already hit that mark, who's looking to go even higher beyond that multiple seven figures, multiple million dollars or eight figures, 10 million and up. But once you start to try to figure out and chart that course of how you go, you know, to that higher level, a lot of things can happen, right? One of those things is you get stuck in analysis, paralysis, right? You're trying to figure out what your next step is, what your next move is. You know, what should you do in order to get there, right? Should you.
You know, open another location? Should you continue to grow where you're at, should you start doing long distance, should you get in the commercial, right? How are you going to make that next million, right? You've already hit that million dollar mark. How are you going to get to that next million? And you know, a lot of People get stuck in this place, right? And even though being stuck and not being able to make progress is not really where you want to be, another place people end up is making a lot of, you know.
Being all over the place, right? So in other words, they're not stuck, but they're like, hey, I'm going to try this and I'm going to try that and I'm going to try this and I'm going to try that. And don't really think through exactly what their plan is for growth in advance, right? And then chart the course based on that. They'll say, you know what? I hear there's money in storage. Let me try that. I hear there's money in long distance. Let me try that, right? I hear, you know, I've got this guy that works for me that says, hey, I'm willing to open up another location with you. Let's open up another location, like, okay, let me try that. And you know, if you go into this, you know, this next level of growth, right? Because, you know, we all know that to go from zero to, you know, a million even really, you know, is a lot of just hustle and hard work and grind. Hustle, hard work and grind. And for me, that's, you know, that's how I started, right? Was that just that hustle, that hard work and that grind? But that can only get you so far, right? So if you want to break past that million dollar mark and you want to go to multiple millions, or you want to go to eight figures, 10 million and up, you've got to think about it differently. What you need is you need a blueprint to get started. You need to establish where exactly it is that you're headed. And let me tell you why that's important. Because as you start to chart this course, right? As you start to really go down the path of getting to that, that next next level, you're going to be faced with a lot of what seem like opportunities, but a lot of times they're distractions, right? There's always things that could be good. They may be working for somebody else, right? You may see someone else that's really successful in a certain line of work and you think, oh, you know what, let me start doing that line of work and I'll be successful in that too. So you're kind of being reactive to the opportunities that are popping up. And here's why that's really dangerous, is because you'll start to start, you know, chase down these different opportunities without a clear focus and a Clear vision of how that's all going to tie into the big picture of where you're headed, right? Because you know, it's fun to make that journey, you know, to continue to grow, but it's not fun when you start, you know, climbing the ladder and realize that the ladder is on the wrong wall, right? That you put in all this effort, that you put in all this work, but it's not the right work and it's not taking you where you want to go. So by the way, if you're just joining us and you want to work with me over the next year, I'm actually opening up a group. It's my mastermind group. We have several of them now, but we, they're limited to 10 per group and we have some new ones rolling out this year. So if it is something you're interested in, go to talktolewis.com and there's more information about. You could fill out an application. But I want to tell you a story about one of my coaching clients, my one on one private clients that I've been working with now for a few years, had a great business, has a great business, and you know what his main thing is that he struggles with is chasing down new opportunities, right? Because when your main business is running smooth and it's running efficient, all of a sudden people come to you with different ideas and different opportunities and, and it's very tempting to add those on, right? Because we tend to really underestimate how much of our own personal bandwidth, how much of our own personal time, energy and strength it's going to take to take on some of these projects, to do them, you know, correctly, right? And you know, when you take on all this additional stuff and you don't do it right, you don't really follow through and you risk spending a lot of time and a lot of energy that not only doesn't really get you the results that you want, but it takes away from your current business as well. Okay? Anytime you take on something new, you have to know that it will take away from your current business. So you want to make sure that you set yourself up with a blueprint. And by the way, that's what we do in this. It's called the flagship experience. It's a training and mastermind where you come out to my office, meet with me for four, four times a year and then we talk every month and then every week you're talking to one of my accountability coaches to keep you on track with the plan that we put in place. But, you know, here's. Let me, Let me give you. Let me give you some examples, right? So let's say you're thinking about getting into a new line of business. You currently do local moves, you want to get into long distance moves, or you currently do local long distance, but you want now open an additional location, right? Maybe you want to franchise your company. I work with a lot of franchises, and, you know, the start of it is really that point of making a model business. But here's what I want you to consider. So if you're like, you know, Louis, I'm doing local, I want to get into long distance, or I'm doing local long distance storage, I have an additional location. I don't really know which one to expand on. I want you to write down these categories, all right? And then what I want you to do is I want you to rate yourself these specific categories. Not rate yourself, but rate, rate, you know, the category. So, for example, let's say local moving, right? For local moving, I want you to write down these categories, all right? First one is net profit, okay? So not what the net profit is, but I want you to give yourself a score from 1 to 5 on how profitable your local moving is, right? Then I want you to write down the category of ease of service, right? So for you, how easy is it to perform local moves from a scale from one to five, one being it's not easy at all, and five being hey, it's super easy. If I could do this every single day and just get more local moves, that's what I would want to do. Third category is ease of sale, right? How easy is it to sell this? So we all know that it's easier to sell a local move than it is to sell a long distance move, right? Or a commercial move. Fourth category. So again, we're rating all these on one to five. I'm trying to help you establish, right, what that next move is for you to get to that next million, right? And if you're not already at a million, this is going to be really helpful for you to get there, right? So the next one is energizing. How energizing is that particular line of work? So you might love, love, love everything about long distance moving, but the local moves, it just drains your personal energy, right? Because what we're talking about here is we're talking about laying out a blueprint so that you could establish where you want to take your business next. And you don't want to have the ladder that you're climbing against the Wrong wall. And let me tell you something, if you're getting into something that drains you of personal energy, you just hate doing it every day. You've got the ladder on the wrong wall. All right? So I know there's, you know, when you're first getting started, it's like, hey, Louis, but I need to make money. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Cool, right? Do whatever it takes. Hustle hard, work hard. If you don't love it, if it doesn't energize you, okay? You've got to make it right. Once you make it, you're at that peak of the mountain, if you will, that one mountain where you could see beyond, right? And then you still need to go higher, but you could see things more clearly. And now you need to plan things out. So you want to make sure that what you're going to do will energize you. The next category you want to rate this on from a 1 to 5 is again, we're talking about every line of business that you do or thinking about doing, right? So local moving, long distance moving, I would put open a new location or if you have multiple locations on there, or maybe you have agents that you book moves for them and they handle the moves, whatever it may be. Put all of those down and then rate them in these categories. The next one, scalability.
You want to make sure that if your, you know, your goal is to scale, meaning to take something that works and grow it. Can you scale the local moves or the long distance moves or, you know, opening additional locations? How easy is it going to be for you to scale that? Right? And the last category to rate it on is going to be sustainability. Is this something that you can do continuously over the long term? Right? Because, you know, what we're talking about right now is not about, like, how to make it and how to just start putting things together and making your profits. This is like, hey, you made it to a certain level off your grit, off your grind, off your hard work, off your cleverness, right? All those great ideas that you put in place and just kind of figuring it out on a day to day basis.
But now you're at a certain level and you've got to be very strategic about what your next moves are. Or number one, you risk everything that you've built, and number two, you risk your own sanity of trying to, you know, build this, you know, empire that you want to build, right? Whatever that is. Every. And I talk to a lot of people. Everybody's got their own idea of what that means, right? You might say, Louis, hey, listen, I just want to make X amount so that, you know, I can live comfortably and I can, you know, hang out on the weekends with my family and go have some hobbies. And, you know, that's all I want to make. I'm good with that. And that's cool, right? And you've got other people that they want to take over the world, right? And you've got everything in between and you've got moving company owners that want to do it in different ways, right? Some want to become the next big independent van line. Some just want to be a hometown dominator and dominate their hometown in every which way, where they're doing local long distance commercial and they're just cornering that market. Others want to open up cities throughout the country, while others want to take that model and sell franchises of it. So, you know, don't think that everyone's trying to do things the way that you want to do them and don't think that there's a right way. Right? You might say, Louis, but, you know, what's the way that's going to make you the most, make me the most money? What I would suggest is watch this video again, write down those categories, rate them, okay? Because it's different for everybody. You're not going to be able to, you know, build something that's sustainable if it's not enjoyable for you to do, right? So listen, if you want to work with me over the next year to scale your business, I'm taking on a new group of 10 people. It is application only. It's not cheap, okay? It is expensive. So if you're already at a certain level in your business and you're like, hey, I'm ready to, you know, go from that, you know, million dollar mark and take it to that next level. And I just need some help on how to structure it and how to get there, work together over the next year. Just go to talktolewis.com and.
