Congress extended the deadline for new hemp CBD rules by one month, pushing the 0.4 mg THC limit from November 12 to December 11. Mark Gillilan says the extra time helps develop better policy, though the current language still needs work.

The new hemp regulation deadline was extended. So it was going to be November 12th, around when the new 0.4 milligrams per container THC law went into effect. But Congress finally this week approved an extension to December 11th. So it is off to the president's desk to sign now. So again, just an extension. So by a month. So still a little— I mean, it's good that it was extended because the language as it stands now is not right for the category. Here at Kyoto Botanicals, we absolutely agree with the intent behind it to get intoxicating, dangerous synthetic and high THC products separated out from our wellness-based CBD products. Don't think this is necessarily the best way to do it. So the extension is great to hopefully get some more time to put together some, some common sense policies around CBD in this country. So yeah, stay tuned, we'll see what comes of it. Hopefully the president signs it soon, and we have till December 11th to figure it out.
