Mark Gillilan explains how to spot trustworthy hemp lab reports by checking for ISO 17025 accreditation, an international standard that audits testing labs. A reliable report means the product was tested by an independent lab for THC, pesticides, and heavy metals, and that lab itself was independently audited. Brands should publish which labs they use so you can verify both the testing and the accreditation are real.

How do you know you can trust a hemp lab test result? So everybody in the category talks about lab results, published third-party lab results, but how do you know you can trust those actual lab results? And it really comes down to ISO accreditation. So ISO 17025 is the standard for hemp laboratories. What that is, it's this international standard that's been set And it's a third-party body that confidentially and independently goes into the testing labs and looks at their equipment, their processes, their results, their everything, and makes sure that the testing they are doing is— can do what they say it's doing, that it can test for the specific compounds down to the limit of detection and the limit of quantification they say they can do. So basically it's an audit of the audit, which is really good for peace of mind. So we, we publish who does our testing on our websites. You can go in and look at their website. So basically there's just a really good paper trail of the processes that go into each batch of our hemp products to make sure that they are what we say they are and that they don't have anything you don't want. So it's kind of like a tiered system. So we send our batch to the lab to make sure that it has the cannabinoid level in it that we say it does, it doesn't have the intoxicating cannabinoid that we say we don't have, pesticides, heavy metals. And then the lab itself is audited as well by an independent auditor. So it's really a double, double protection layer. And when you're out there shopping, make sure that the brand you're looking at shares all of those details. Because Because you want to make sure it's an independent lab testing the products that you're buying, and you want to make sure that that independent lab is independently audited too. So kind of a double gateway to make sure that the hemp you're buying is what it says it is and is safe for you to consume.
