How much money did you make last year in 2020?
Over $102,000. It feels. It feels exciting. It feels like, wow. I did it.
Another episode of on the Road, the loan signing system here with notary public loan signing agent Lauren out in Florida. How you doing today, Lauren?
Very good, Mark. Very, very nice. How about yourself?
I'm so good. Thank you for asking these stories. I am so excited to tell yours. So let's just get people excited and inspired right out of the gate. How much money did you make last year in 2020?
Over $102,000.
When you say that, Lord, I can't wait to watch the fact you smile ear to ear when you just said that.
Yeah.
And so I have to ask, how do you feel when you say that out loud like you're saying that?
It was fun. I mean, it feels exciting. It feels like, wow. I did it.
You did do it, man.
It feels good. It feels real good. Oh, yeah.
This is your moment.
So excited.
I'm so proud of you, Elle. You had no idea.
Thank you. Thank you. We did it. We did it.
Yeah. I can't give you credit for your amazingness. You know, if there's any loan signing system students watching right now, you know, this is a real story of slow and steady wins the race. Lauren is not one of those students. You're like, oh, I made $10,000 in my third month. You know, I can't wait to show your income story. But you've been a loan signing system doing for a couple of years, and you hit your stride last year, which is amazing. We're going to share all that goodness. But, Elle, let's get. Let's get into your story because you've watched some of these on the road. You know how. You know, we love to show that anyone could be a notary public loan signing agent. I love to. You know, your story is as inspiring than anybody's that we've shared. So I'm excited to show people your amazing journey. So why don't we take us back to the beginning on kind of, you know, how we got to where we are today to let people know that they can make this happen, too.
Yes. Yes. Okay. So I became a notary public loan signing agent because I was in a marriage that needed to end swiftly, and I needed to make a choice quickly and to move forward with my life. I have a son, and he's my why and to for survival mode. It was just net. It was just met for me to make that decision to move forward.
You know, I I. I can see how powerful the decision that was for you and your family, you know, to. To help other single parents, single moms, you know, fathers, you know, who have to make a decision of, like, I need to make a decision to move on. Talk through that for you so people don't feel alone. Like, why was it such a powerful moment for you? And talk through that to maybe help someone else. They can relate to your journey.
Well, with any type of transition people. Well, for me, I felt very nervous. I felt scared of the unknown. I also felt like a. I didn't. Like, my family would judge me. For my family and my friends, for them, they. I felt as though they would judge me because of the marriage not working.
Wow, that's very vulnerable. Thank you. You know, I mean, talk through that, if you don't mind, to help someone else that know that they're not alone. Right. And so, you know, what were you scared of? I mean, did you feel like, you know, and I don't want to put words in your mouth, you know, but did you feel like maybe they would see you as a failure or it failed? Like, talk through some of those emotions. I can. I can feel right now in this conversation.
Yeah. You know, all my life, I've always been the type to. You can. You can do whatever you want to do. I'm always encouraging people to look at their best and, you know, cheering people on and say, yeah, you can do this. You can do this. But then when it was time for me, when I would have issues, I felt vulnerable where I could not share with what really I was going through. And my. You know, so although I might have been there for others, I didn't really open up to receive that help. So other people can help me because of the. The judgments and maybe the. The naysayers or, you know, fear of the unknown. Fear, you know, a lot of. A lot of chitter, chatter, what they call it, a lot of gossiping. I probably was being gossiped on. And, you know, once I realized that it was time for me to make that change, I had to make a. Make a choice to be more authentic and true to myself. And this is why I became a notary public loan signing agent, because I knew that I needed to make a change not only for myself, but also for my son as well.
I think you said something that was like, awesome is you had to become more authentic and true to yourself. You know, you had to make a decision that was best for Lauren, best for your son, not relative to any outside pressures that for better for worse. We all feel. And so thank you for saying something that I don't think a lot of people are willing to say. And that is, you know, we feel pressure from parents, sisters, best friends that, like, oh, this marriage has to be work. Oh, we're a perfectly happy couple. And, you know, meanwhile, you know that you need to make a decision that's best for you and your son. And. But you made that because you realize it was. You had to be authentic and true to yourself. And I was like, the most beautiful thing that I've heard in a long time. And I think more people need to be more authentic and true to themselves to make decisions on. Maybe not as drastic as leaving a marriage, but maybe as drastic. I mean, as small as making the choice. Become a signing agent, right? You do what you feel is true and authentic to yourself, and I think that life just opens up, right? And Lauren, I think making that decision, everything worked out okay.
I mean, yes, it did.
Your signing agent.
Yes, it did.
You know, as a single, single mom, right, you know, talk to other single moms who might be going through something that you went through because you're now on the other end, right? I mean, you went through, quote, unquote, a dark time, and now, like, everything is great and you're on the way up building your six figure business. You know, talk to another single mom or single dad who, you know, may not being true to themselves on whatever level. Like, how freeing was that for you? You made that decision.
Oh, it was a load that was taken off. It was a load. It was a load that was taken off. Because once I identified that the problem was not going to change, I made the conscious choice to make the change. And. But this too shall pass. This too shall pass. And what that means is, is that it may be. It may not look like it's going. It may look a little fuzzy. It may look gray. It may look dead flowers. It may look like dead flowers. But just know that once the storm is over, the sun always comes out. The sun comes out and it's shining, and the. The waters are crystal clear. And you got blue skies again.
I love it. And the blue skies are blue as they can be right now for you, Elle.
That's right. No clouds.
No clouds. If people get it, they get it. I love it. No cloud to kind of wrap up your. This part of your story, you know, and you said so many vulnerable things. Thank you so much. Because I know someone can relate to your journey and that, you know, there was clouds and now there's no longer clouds, you know, but, you know, you made a decision, you said for you and your son, right? Like, when your son looks at you now and they see his mom's owns a six figure business, how awesome does that feel for you?
Mm. Oh, it's. It's something that I've always wanted and now it's here. It's like, wow, this is absolutely awesome. It's like, awesome. It's awesome. It's awesome. They have the freedom to, you know, be able to accommodate with his schoolwork and his soccer practices now that he's getting back in soccer. So, you know, any extracurricular activities that he may want to do, it just allows a lot more freedom. Freedom. It's amazing. It's amazing.
I mean, I mean, he made the decision for him and for you. And like you said, there's no clouds. Again, thank you for that. You know, and if you don't mind me going back to something we talked about, because I think a lot of people, we use the word failure, right? We use the word like the people are going to judge me. Right? And so when you get into, when you got your divorce, you know, did you feel like a failure? And people, some of your families, did they see you as a failure? Because what I'm trying to get at, obviously you're not, but you had to have had those feelings and talk through those feelings of quote, unquote failures and how those just made you better and stronger. And so talk through kind of what, what that felt like for you when you had to tell everybody, I'm getting a divorce. Right. And did they see you as a failure?
I had to realize that. Although, yes, I did have a divorce. But guess what? That's my past is my past. It's not who I am today. It's just a situation, a bump in the road. It was a mistake, and we learned from our mistakes. And without failure, then there's no succeeding. It's like the 20,000 no's to success. You know, it's like, just think of it as just another, another situation, but that, that the weight is off once you are. Forget it. All right? Yeah, I had one. So what now? So what? So what? Okay, I can still move forward and, and move on with my life or with your life. You can move on. It's okay to move on. It's okay to get from this point to that point. It's totally okay. It's okay.
I agree. It's okay. And I thank you for talking about it. Right? And it's because some people there's such a stigma about being divorced. And it's like you said, it doesn't define who I am. It's a part of me, but it isn't. That's the past, it's not the future. And so I thank you for talking about that because all that kind of led to the road of being a six figure signing agent. Like you made six figures last year. That's incredible. You know, this year you're going to clear 120. 125, maybe 50. The party's just getting started.
I can't wait.
I'm so proud of you, Al.
Thank you.
I've known you now for a couple years. What, two and a half years maybe, going on.
Yeah.
And just know. And I never knew your backstory like you just shared, so.
Right.
You know, it just makes me even admire you even more, you know, and you're such a superhero and, and an amazing mom making decisions that, you know, were very tough but ultimately worked out for the best. And thank you a lot for sharing that. And that's what I appreciate all you students who come on these interviews, it's, you know, talk about things that a lot of people aren't willing to talk about. I appreciate you being very, very honest and with your journey. So let's continue to talk about your journey. Right?
Yes.
You know, let's talk about the money as of your journey. It's amazing. So again, you know, to go into this part of your money, you're not a, you're not a. Oh, mark. I made $10,000 in my second month student. This has been a two year process. So let's take people through that. So you started with loan signing system roughly a couple of years ago. How much money did you make in your first month of being a notary public loan signing agent?
First month was $400.
I love it. I love it. What I love about what just went down is you smile ear is I made $400. The thing is, we have some students who make $500 your first month and they'll feel like that was a failure. You just were so excited that you did.
I was so happy.
How come you didn't see the $400 as a failure that you make? $400. And I don't want to say that's it because that's not it. It's a lot of money for a business that you've never been a part of. So, you know, speak to another notary public loan signing agent who might see $400 in their first month as they failed. Why didn't you see that $4 of income as a failure? So I can get into your mind.
Well, so I saw that it was. I saw that it was a success because I knew that if I got my first one, then there's tons of other businesses out there. I. I knew that it was for real when I got my first one. My first signing was for 65 freaking dollars. And I was so excited because finally, for three months, like, I really started. Started after the conference in June 2019, when I got back. So I went to work right away.
You said something that I think was very poignant. Is $400 your first $65? You knew the business was real. You knew that there was more on the horizon. So it's a. It's a mindset of, like, I didn't only make $400, you sold your $65 as possibility.
Yes.
All your $400. As I can make $400 this month. Wow. How much can I make next month? How can I make a month before that?
That's right.
That's the mindset I want some of our students to pick up on. It wasn't, oh, I only made $400. Like.
I made $400. Yeah. And I worked. I worked. And I knew. I said. Because I thought in my mind and I said, you know what? If every piece of real estate that's around me need a notary, it's always going to be business around. I just have to find a way how to get it.
No, I love it. Yeah.
No, I just have to find a way how to. How to get it. And I didn't stop until.
You're not even. Still. You're still going. This is just the tip of the iceberg for you, man. But. But thank you for sharing that, because I think it's all perspective. It's how we see things, you know? You know, how much money did you make your second month?
Second month, I made 2,300.
And then your third month, how much you make?
3,300.
Okay, cool. So again, you're a. Slow and steady wins the race, right? We have some students, as you know, we're making 5,000 the first month, 8,000 the second month, 12,000 the third month. That wasn't your journey. So my question is this, to get into your mindset. You know, you see other students like Robin or Tracy or whoever. Make it 8,000, 10,000, 15,000. How come you're not getting discouraged by that, you know, are you. What is that motivating you because there's some students. And I asked that l. Because there's some students who see who might watch this video today and like, oh, she made six figures. That means I'm not succeeding if I'm not making six figures. How come you didn't get discouraged by seeing other people's numbers? And while you're just building your business slowly but surely.
Because like I said, I know. I knew that it was going to work. I knew that this business was going to work because I realized that I just had to find a way using and implementing what you taught, mark the course and make it work for me.
So what I heard is this, I think is beautiful, is what I heard of. What I loved is that you, like, you were clapping for them on the side. Good for you. But I was keeping my head down.
That's right. I was focused. I was focused on my own goals. Yeah, I focused myself on my goals, on my journey. You know, I wrote down my goals like you teach. I wrote. I wrote it down and I saw it every single day. And I said, I'm going to get it. I'm going to get there. I'm going to get there. I'm going to get there. And then when I had my first 10,000, when I. Well, actually, my goal was to hit 10,000, but I actually exceeded it to 12,000. So when that happened, I said, okay, you know what? It's time for the signing service. I said, because I know. I said, once I get that point, I know it's a sure sign that it will be time to. To start the sign service.
Well, we're going to get to that in a moment, you know, but I still want to. I'm going to end with this fact point that you made is like, you didn't see other people's success as your failure because you were too busy just keeping your head down.
That's right.
And I hope every signing, student loan signing agent gets inspired by that. Right? Just keep your head down, focus on you, focus on your next goal, focus on your next step. Because I think too many students and signing agents out there see videos like this, and it discourages them. Versus saying, oh, it's possible if they're making 10,000, if Lauren's making 100,000, then so can I. Let me get back to work. Versus like, oh, no, she's making this. He's making this. You saw it as like, man, they could do it.
I could do it. If they can do it, I know I can do it. I know it.
And I want you to Say, I want to ask you a question like, could anybody do it if someone.
Anybody can do this business? Oh, my goodness. Anybody can do this business. The thing about this business is this. You make it your own. It's your business. So it's not like it's a 9 to 5 where you have a boss that's telling you, clock in, cock out this time. No, you can't go on vacation. No, you got to do this, you got to do that. No, it's your own. So you treat it like your own. What you put in the system is what you're going to get out.
I love it. I love it. I love it.
Oh, yeah.
You know, just to inspire. I mean, so let's keep going.
Keep.
Let's keep inspiring, right?
Yeah.
So, you know, how much money did you make last month?
Last month I made 11 to.
What'd you make a month before that?
98.
What'd you make a month before that?
11. 2. 11. 2. Yeah.
I mean, I love it.
Yeah. And then in October, I made 16.
Grand in one month.
One month.
30 days.
16 grand. 16 grand. 16 grand. That was my biggest in the whole. It was amazing. 16. Yep. So excited.
You keep saying, I'm so excited for you.
Yeah, it's exciting.
This is just the beginning. Al, your signing service can be just as big. And you know this.
That's right. That's right.
Okay, so. So let's take people back, right? You know, let's see people back. What you talked about five minutes ago, you started this journey. Signing services weren't calling you up. You weren't getting the notifications that you wanted. So what did you decide to do?
So I decided to print out Mark's script that's in the loan signing system for. I went to work, I started to memorize and read over it to make sure I can visualize myself saying what is on that script. He's explaining in a way to make the people want to use you.
I love it.
Meaning. Yeah.
So, you know, I don't want this to be a big loan signing system commercial, but thank you so much. You know, but what I. But I. What I, you know, what I want to inspire people with is you weren't getting the signing services, the business that you want from signing services. And so you said, I got to go direct.
That's right.
That's what people want to be inspired by. It's like, look, some people get back and they get frustrated that the algorithms aren't finding them, and they get frustrated like, oh, my gosh, this person Snapdogs verified and they're getting a million texts. Everyone's algorithms are different. It's just a software program.
Right, right.
You realize that. Look, look, I'm not getting the texts as rapid fire as someone else. So I'm going to go out and build my business. And you went and went and got direct business right out of the gate. And that's, that's the mindset that a six figure notary public loan signing agent has. And that's what I want. And so let's talk about that. So why did you say, you know what, Mark, I'm going direct?
Oh, because I, I wanted it. I wanted to, I could taste it. It was almost like I knew that this business was had to work. It had to work because of the choice that I made to be a mentor to my son. And I didn't want to fail him. And I wanted him to see that it is possible that if I start something or anything that has started from the bottom can rise and grow to whatever you want it to be.
It's beautiful. You know, there's a few things I want to touch on that fact is, you know, you just said very purposely this had to work.
Yes.
You know, I always tell you students, when your why is big, the how is easy.
Yes.
You know, when those texts weren't coming in the way you wanted it to come in, you're like, instead of being victim, instead of saying, oh, poor me, how come this isn't working? Oh, the market saturated. Oh my gosh, there's too many notaries where I live. I'm not made for this business. You said, I'm going to go build my own direct business because I have no other choice.
Yes.
And that's a beautiful thing. That's this mindset of a six, the reason you're a six figure notary public loan signing agent, because that's your mindset. And I hope everyone else hears that there was no failure as an option for you now because of your son, because you needed to prove to him that's right. Can build something.
That's right.
There's no quit in mom. Never quit. So you should never quit.
That's right.
And you're the best mentor like you said that he could have, because it is. Actions speak louder than words. You've got to work. And so I hope every other notary public loan signing agent watching this is inspired that the notifications weren't coming in. So you did something about it and you went and built a direct business right out of the gate. And now you're six figures. What do you want to add to that?
Keep. Keep your goals close to you. But it's important to write out the goals so you can see where you want to be. Because when you achieve that goal, when you write it out, it now becomes a plan, all right? And it's power in writing out your plan because it hits the subconscious in your brain, all right? So once it's in your subconscious and when you actually do make that goal, it'll be even more achieving to you because you like, oh, shucks, I did it. Yeah, baby. Yeah, right? It gives you a whole nother sense of self gratification. Oh, yeah.
You know, let's take people to the moment when you first market a direct, right? Your brand spanking new, right? Let's talk about how nervous you were, right? Because I think there's a myth, Lauren, that, you know, six figure notary public loan signing agents never have nerves.
Oh, God.
Or cool, call McCleck from the moment they walk into a title company. So people, if you can back to the moment of. Of not necessarily how you got the first signing, but more through how you got through those nerves and talk through it to let people know they're not alone if they're nervous.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, you know, I knew in the morning, I said, you know what? I talked to Stephanie. Everybody knows Stephanie. Stephanie was my girl. I met her at the conference in 2019. And I would talk to her from time to time and I would say, steph, hey, what am I doing? Am I doing anything wrong? And she's like, no, girl. It just takes time. You know the same thing you're saying. She's like, it just takes time. At first, it is a little slow. It was a little slow. And she had her New York accent, her Kings county accent, right? But she was saying, just a little slow. But at that point, before you take your first one and then you get your second one, and then everything is going to start rolling for you. And I said, well, I just got to find a way to get my first one. So I told her, I said, well, look, I'm going. I'm just going to market myself direct. So I printed out the actual script. I went on my lunch break because, see, at this time, I was still working full time. Okay? I was an insurance agent, so I was still working full time. And I went on my lunch break and I went to my first title company and I drove up and I'm telling you, like, I started sweating. Like the beads was like pouring off the back of my neck. Like, I was so nervous. And I said, no, Lauren, you know what? You got this. I started talking to myself and, you know, not answering, but start talking to myself and giving myself some inspiration, like, you can do this. Got this, girl. So I walked in and had my, my dress on and my heels and had my briefcase in one hand. And I walked in, there was a lady standing right in front of me. And she said, hi, how can I help you? And I said, well, my name is Lauren. And I began saying my spiel. And she sat there and listened to me. And I said it with such nervousness, but she let me. Once I got it out, she said, okay, well, what are your prices? And I was like a deer in het. Like, I was like a deer car.
You're like, wait.
You're like.
You're like, wait, what? That works? Like this works. You want to know how much I charge?
I cannot believe it. I was so shocked. I said, oh, my gosh. So I said. And I told her what my prices was and she said, okay. The next day she called me.
Just.
Like, from there, from there it's been on and popping. I mean, my story might be a little different because I never. And I, and I just, I had to get my first one. Once I got my first one, I was good.
I mean, I hope everyone is inspired. She was nervous. Beads of sweat. She went in there, she said the script. And they called her the next day.
Yeah, they called me the next day, asked me for my availability. Yeah, she asked me, she said, what's your availability like? And I said, and see, remember I was still working my full time job, right. So, you know, I, I had to tell her that, you know, I was available, you know, I could do six o', clock, you know, like when I got off of work. But just the simple fact that it worked, that that's all I needed.
So many things that I want, I want people to hear and be inspired by. You went on your lunch break.
Yeah.
You worked through your nerves.
Yeah.
And you got a title, company. Success is one step past fear. And I hope everyone's inspired by Lauren's story that if you can just push yourself through the comfort zone. But again, the reason you push yourself through the comfort zone is because this had to work.
Oh, yeah. It was no other option.
And I hope people are here on that.
There was no other option.
It's amazing what we can do as humans when our backs up against the wall. It's amazing what we're able to accomplish when there's no Other options. And it was as easy as memorizing the script that everybody has in the course. Everyone has the same script, but not everybody uses it. But if you can just push yourself past that comfort zone, you can be a six figure notary public loan signing agent just like Lauren. And I hope everyone's inspired by that. Man, it really is such a great journey that you've been on. I'm so, so proud of you, man. And your signing service is going to blow up in 2021. Let's go.
Yes. Yes. Now there's one more thing that I use, Mark, and I like to share with the other, with, with my other fellow family. So what I did was I did something that was, I had to be thoughtful because I knew that I had to be strategic because I was still working at the time. I was still working a full time position. So I made it my goal for three days to visit eight title companies. I call it the three by eight. And before you know it, when you're finished with the three by eight, you have 24 title companies that you had a chance to, to really work. So. And that's, that's how I started T.
Shirts Girl three by eight at conference this year.
That's right, the three by eight. Yeah.
I think that's powerful. I think it's amazing. I want to speak to loan signing system students right now if I could. Even though this is on YouTube. But you know, every student has the same script. Not everyone uses it. And if you just put the effort, if you just push past the nerves, you can be a six figure signing agent. Use the three by eight that Lauren just taught you. She was sweating, she was nervous and when she was done, she got. So how much are your prices? If you expect greatness out of yourself, you will become great. Every single one of you are amazing. Lauren, you are so freaking amazing. I am so proud of you. Thank you for letting other people know what greatness they are capable of. Let's go.
Yes, let's go.
All right, cool. So let's get that next stage. The interview that I always ask. Same question. You know, if your best friend calls you up and you're says, hey girl, I want to become a signing agent. What is one piece of advice that you would give your best friend on how to build their notary public loan signing agent business, what would that be for you?
Just do it. Just do it. Just do not reinvent the wheel. We have, we have mentors. There's not one successful person that does not have a mentor. And without, without A mentor. Not saying that it can't be done, but why reinvent the wheel if it's already been created for us to succeed? So look at your own journey. Don't look at somebody else's journey. Look at your own journey. Also learn from your mistakes and just do something. Whether it's calling the different signing services or going to different events or just do something. You have to do something because it can. Remember your past does not define who you are.
I love it. I'm taking notes because I don't want to forget all the greatness you're saying here. You know, there's a couple things. Just do it. Right. I mean, that's really the mantra of someone who doesn't have another option. And, you know, that's the mantra of somebody who. There is no plan B. Right. Plan B is make sure plan A doesn't fail.
Right.
And so I love that you're right. Like I said, if you just push yourself past those nerves and you just get it. And number two said, don't reinvent the wheel. You know, and I think that the most successful people are implementers. And, you know, I don't want this to be a big loan signing system commercial. Maybe I'm not the mentor for everybody or for you watching this right now, but you're right. Get one. You know, whether that's me or somebody else, there's so many amazing mentors. I'm not that mentor who talks down about other mentors. I think every mentor is amazing. I'm not the only person out there teaching notary public loan signing agents. Find someone that you can relate to, that you enjoy their personality and just don't go at this by yourself.
Yeah, no, you have. One thing about our, our family with LSS is that we're all here to help. You know, we're colleagues. We, we, we help each other. So, and, and this was. Those numbers were pre pandemic. So for me, I just knew that it was going to work. I just knew that it was going to happen. When the pandemic happened, it was like a double year for us because not only were the interest rates as lower as it's ever been in the history of mortgages ever being created in this country, but it was also, you know, the pandemic, you know, so right now the pandemic is still going on and these loans need to be closed regardless. Why not let you be the one getting those loans that need to be closed and helping out your clients.
You know, you have a, you have a great, your mindset is why you're six figures, right? It's. You have a why. You have a mindset of why not me.
Exactly.
I agree. Why not me?
Exactly.
You know, and I think that if you understand love digging into these conversations because, you know, you're not six figures on accident. You just do it. No plan B. Why not me? Always optimistic. Someone else is doing it, so can I, you know, always take everything as an abundance mindset. And I hope people really are picking up on the way you think and the way you act and that's the purpose of bringing these out. But I think your advice is awesome, you know, and I'll end with my piece of advice is, you know, because I agree with yours and that is, you know, don't reinvent the wheel. The most successful people are already done. Yes. The best implementers always. Everyone always asks me, mark, how would you become an expert at creating online courses? I'm like, I bought a course on how to do online courses and I just copied it, you know, and so, you know, like I said, I think every notary public, loan signing agent trainer out there is amazing. I'm not one, as you guys know, I'm not one to talk down about anybody else. I think they're all amazing. I think they bring their experience to this industry and I want all them to be successful. I think there's business for everybody no matter what we do. And so, you know, if you're watching this and I'm not your mentor, that's okay. Just pick one. Just get one.
That's right.
It's not me. I'm okay with that. I'm a champion for you. I want you to succeed. So pick someone who resonates with you and do what Lauren said, because I agree, like, don't do this by yourself. Find someone that you resonate with. Get it. And I'm on the same page with you, Al, as far as that's the best piece of advice is don't do this by yourself. No mentor. I have mentors. I have more than one mentor, you know, and so every successful person has a mentor. So I agree with you. Get a mentor and just find someone that clicks with you and build a business. I love it. I love it. You're dropping Fire Girl. Let's get to the last part of this interview. You is. And you're doing this on a Sunday night. Thank you so much, by the way. I know you wanted to jump on and inspire, so thank you for spending time with me on a Sunday night to. To hopefully help somebody else. Watching this today.
Yeah.
So another thing I always end with this, you know, is, you know, I want to speak to someone who's not currently a notary public loan signing agent. And you know, they're hesitant. They're like, man, am I going to do, am I going to be able to do this right? And so I want people to know that six figure notary public loan signing agents were also nervous in the beginning. Like, they also had their moment of like, quick scheme, like, you got to work.
Yeah.
But I think which was cool was you was like, look, you admittingly said I was overwhelmed with how much information it was. And you were like, am I going to be able to take all this information and actually make money with it? Was I actually going to be able to have a signing with the borrower? Was actually going to be able to use the marketing tools? There's so much information flying at you. Am I actually gonna be able to take alteration and actually make something of it? And I think that's really cool because you're right. There are some students who get a little overwhelmed in the beginning and you're like, look, I was in your shoes. I was also overwhelmed with all this information. I was overwhelmed with all the trust information. But guess what, you got to your signing and all the pieces came together. Is that kind of what I'm hearing?
Yes, yes. So it was more of nervousness about implementing the. All the info, all the information. And it, I was like, oh gosh, like I'm really from the lab to real life. Right, right. It's like for real. It's here. Let's, let's do it. You know, I'm like, okay, yeah.
I mean, do you have any advice for maybe a student who's getting a little overwhelmed with the information on how to get through the information a little bit better where they can read like anything work for you or I'm just trying to dig in, get one. You know, whether that's me or somebody else or so many amazing mentors. I'm not that mentor who talks down about other mentors. I think every mentor is amazing. I'm not the only person out there teaching signing agents. Find someone that you can relate to, that you enjoy their personality and just don't go at this by yourself.

Like they also had their moment of like, is this going to work out right? So for you, what were you nervous about in the beginning of your journey? That looking back, you're like, man, why was I nervous about that at all? What was that for you?
The education, you know, being able to apply all the information that was taught, being able to apply it into a real live signing, it was, it was just, it was just a lot. I mean, you know, because with, there's certain ways on how to do a trust, you know, and that one particular thing that gave me anxiety and during taking the test, that was my actual first signing, like, oh my gosh, are you kidding me?
Well, no, I think you said something that was amazing though. And I think think it probably resonates a lot of new notary public loan signing agents is, look, I tell everybody there's a lot of information, man, this is not a get rich quick scheme. Like you got to work. Yeah, but I think which was cool was you was like, look, you admittingly said I was overwhelmed with how much information it was. And you were like, am I going to be able to take all this information and actually make money with it? Was I actually going to be able to have a signing with the borrower? I mean, do you have any advice for maybe a student who's getting a little overwhelmed with the information on how to get through the information a little bit better, where they can read, like, anything work for you, or I'm just trying to dig into your brain a little bit, you know?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for me. And see, I'm. I'm saying my experience, because I took your course, and this is what helped for me. What helped for me is in your course, you had a mock signing with your wife. I think the video was 47 minutes long. And that particular video was what helped me so much, because what I've done. Hey, March. Remember back in the 80s when, you know, we're talking about cassette tapes and you hear a favorite song that you liked, and you would have to rewind it and press play and fast forward? Well, that's what I did with your course. Okay. For that favorite song that you wanted to learn and memorize.
I have no idea what you're talking about. The 80s, everybody how old I am.
Well, that's the method that I use. You're so funny. That's the method that I used for. To help me with knowing the documents and knowing the, you know, trying to get through and guiding the customers through the packages.
Well, first off, you know, I love that you said the mock video helped you so much, but what I really heard was repetition is the mother of learning.
Yes.
Watch that over and over and over.
Notes. Yep. Took a lot of notes. A lot of notes. And then I made it my own.
Yeah, I love it.
And then I practice. Practice in the mirror. You know, how do I look? And ask my son, hey, do I look? Do I look? You know, tell me what I really look like. You know, the facial expressions, you know, and you just use people around you. You know, those are some techniques that's learned.
No, I love it. You used. You know, you'd mock signings. You use other people. I think those are all great pieces of advice. Open all new Notary public loan signing agents are, are listening. You know, it's not, you know, to bring in maybe you know, a friend, a mother, a daughter or someone and kind of do a pretend signing with a mock signing with them and get the flow down. Those are all great pieces of advice. Well, I think you dropped fire too.
Okay. Yeah.
Wrap up with this. You know, and I want to, I want to bring it back to like someone who just may be going through their version of a dark time. Right? Because I mean, you've come from where you were, to doubting yourself, to being scared and to being a six figure notary public loan signing agent, to starting their own business, hiring other people to work for you. You've come a long way and I can't be more proud of you. I hope I say that enough. And so I want you to help somebody else right now who might be going through that dark period that you went through. What would you say to somebody who's going through their moment of struggles that you experienced. What would you say to them?
That.
That it's going to be okay. Their lights at the end of the tunnel, like, leave us with that.
Okay. So you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you and you shall not die, but you should live to declare the works of the Lord. That's it.
We'll end with that. I think you're amazing. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I will see you at conference this year.
That's right, Vegas. Bam. Can't wait. I'll be right there. I can't wait. Listen, if any more of those 20, if you extend it, you let me know. Call me. And it's time to upgrade.
I was going to say this year you're going to be walking across stage.
Yes. Oh, I can't wait. Yep. And I'm working out. I'm going to get right and tight. I'm getting there. I'm so excited.
Well, Lord, I want to say thank you. I can't wait to see you, give you a huge hug if that's okay.
Yes, absolutely. Come on, bro.
I love it. And I'm gonna see you in Vegas. I'm so proud of you, Al. Till next time. Bye.
You too. By.
