Okay. So in 2021 I made 127,000. I never thought I would be here. I've watched your on the road interviews and I thought that definitely can't be me. Like, how can I make 5, 10 plus K? I've never made that in my life. But you know, you just got to hold on and believe and just see it through with hard work. Foreign.
With the loan signing system here with signing agent angel out in the great state of California. How you doing today?
I'm doing amazing, Mark. Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited to share my journey and just give huge thanks to you. Thank you.
You're so. Thank you. You need very little introduction, girl. If you've been on Tick Tock, you've been on Instagram, you an unbelievable Instagram following a Tik Tok follower. Small little plug. How you doing? Everything's good today or what?
Everything's amazing, Mark. I never thought I would be here. I've watched your on the road interviews and I thought that definitely can't be me. Like, how can I make 5, 10 plus K? I've never made that in my life. But you know, you just gotta hold on and believe and just see it through with hard work.
I love it. Okay, so let's inspire people right out of the gate. How old are you?
I am 24 years old.
24 years old. How much money did you make last year? 24 and 23 years old.
Okay, so in 2021, I made 127,000.
$127,000 at 23 years old, then turned 24. When I say that back to you, how does that make you feel?
It's. I can't even believe it. Even to this day, I don't believe it.
You're 24. You were so young, girl, if I could tell you guys, you know, 24, you actually don't want to know. I was not $127,000 in a year. I mean, everybody, you should be inspired. Let me ask you another question. To inspire people. 24 years old, you just launched what.
A signing service company, baby.
Yeah, I know. In the comments, everybody be like, what's the name of our signing service? So what's the name of your signing service? I love it. I love it. So at 24, not only did you have a six figure banner year last year, you now have launched your own signing service in 2020. Two, hiring out other notaries, making money off of other notaries, ever. What I tell you students is going from a solopreneur to an entrepreneur and a 24 girl. How does that make you feel when I say that?
Oh my God, it's amazing. Like I don't even know.
Speechless at 24, I didn't start my signing service. Gosh, let me do the math here. Probably 30, 34 years old. Yeah, 34 years old. I'm so proud of you. I hope you know that. I say it as much as I can to you, but girl, you're 24. So we're gonna take people through. So if you're another 24 year old, 23 year old, be inspired by angel, because if she can do it, you can do it. Let me ask this quick question is if you can build this business at 23 and 24 years old, can anybody build this business?
Absolutely. I mean, I have no degree. I don't have a rich family. Okay. It's just hard work throughout those years and having just belief in yourself. Yeah. And we'll talk about that more. But that's, that's the just things I just want to mention real quick.
I love it, I love it, I love it. Let's just get started, man. I know you've seen a few of these episodes. You kind of know how they go. So I always ask people to start, take us back to the journey, the beginning of the journey. Now you're only 24, so your journey isn't so long. I mean, gosh. But like every one of these stories that I share, I argue it's just as inspiring, especially if you're a young notary public loan signing agent, young in age. I'm super excited about telling your story because this is great. But take it from beginning and inspire people through what you've built.
Yeah, definitely. So my dad, he was a very successful real estate agent when I was very young. And I realized if I'm not going to go to college and do the traditional route, then I should try real estate. I mean, my dad was successful at it. I should be too. Like it should run in the family, right? No, it did not pan out that way in any way whatsoever. It's just I wasn't a very good real estate agent. I was always so worried about having to talk to clients and then second guessing myself and then real estate agent or working whatever. Like working a safe and high paying career. And if you're not doing that, you just feel like you're being rude to your parents. And disrespectful. Like, you don't believe them. And that I didn't want my parents to feel that way. So that's why I wanted to try to be a real estate agent and then do something for my parents.
What was it? Moment. You're like, you know what? I just got to move on because this is not my. This is not.
Yeah, it was just realizing it's really difficult to be a real estate agent. And I'm not trying to say that, like, give up on things are difficult, but I just wasn't in a place I was very. I have really bad anxiety and just talking to people all the time, having to persuade them and I don't know, it just sound really stressful at the time to be a real estate agent.
Yeah, no, I love it. Well, no, what I love, by the way, is this unbelievable journey. Like you just said, you're full of anxiety, you don't like to talk to people, but yet you do that with your notary public loan signing agent business and you flourish. And so what I would argue happened is you found your thing, right? You found what you're supposed to be doing is usually they say stress is simply doing something you don't like to do, right? And so it feels like now you found your thing. And so even though you are someone who has anxiety and it has some of those feelings, you've broken through. And so that's what makes this story amazing. And you're only 24 and you have so much success and quote, unquote, you failed. But you didn't fail, you learned from it. Right? It was more of like sometimes, especially when you're young and this is me. Sound like an old man now, but your job in life is to kind of try things and find things that kind of fit you and something you can be passionate about. So with that, you failed to be a real estate agent. You just tried something that you didn't click with. And then be so blessed, girl, that you found something you click with that.
23.
You know, I'm notary public loan signing agent till I was 25, 26. And so the fact you found this so early, I'm so, so proud of you. You know, this is kind of going on a right turn here. But, you know, you have a very relative background of being a real estate agent. What do you love about being a notary public loan signing agent that you didn't want about being a real estate agent? Because my bet is there are some young adults watching this right now who are probably waffling. Oh my gosh, the real estate market is so hot. So, out of curiosity, what is it that you love about being a notary public loan signing agent that really differs from being a real estate agent?
Yeah, if I'm going to be really honest, Mark, it's just that being a notary public loan signing agent, you've got to just dedicate one hour to the signing and then that's it. It's go through the signing and then, you know, that's it.
Yeah. So what I love, what I heard is, which I love by the way, and it's very honest, is you really don't have to bring your work home with you. It's like you do your one hour appointment and then your responsibility is quote unquote, over. And where you sell a house, it's a six, eight, nine month leeway on sometimes, mind you, in a hot market like this, a little bit different. But my point is it's a one hour. You make your money, you get in, you get out, you. Let me ask you a separate question though, because I think that was very honest answer. Let me ask you a different question, is what makes getting business different? I don't want to use the word easier because this business is simple. It's not easy. I'll never say it's easy, but I will say it's simple. But my point is, angel, it's like what I love is you're not the only person have anxiety, right. And so what makes it easier or simpler for you to get business on this? Because you still talk to people, you still have to go, quote, unquote, persuade them. Right. So what makes it different to maybe help someone who also has anxiety and maybe help them through their journey?
Yeah, I think it's so much easier to just go into a title office, bring the bagels, that's it. Just introduce yourself with a big old smile. And then for some reason the bagels and the smiles, it just lowers the escrow officer's guard down. And then they'll just want to talk to you and then you'll get business from there. Easy versus being a real estate agent. You've got to know a whole breadth of things, right? Like county requirements and like knowing like, is this wood like vinyl or is it like heart? Like there's just so much being a real estate agent.
Got it. That's interesting. So I love these candid conversations. So you find it easier to market as a notary public loan signing agent because there is less pomp and circumstance about what you're presenting. Right. Look, I'm a notary. You have to hire a notary. Here's why I should be the notary versus being a realtor. You need to know not only the market conditions, you got to know what that house specifically is. Down to the vinyl, down to the square footage. And so it's itching. I never heard that before. So basically what I'm hearing is the product is easier to sell as a signing agent because the product is you.
Right.
Versus the product to sell as a realtor because it seemed a little bit overwhelming, especially as a young adult who may never ever bought a home or whatnot. And so it's just an easier product to sell. Did I kind of boil that down correctly or no?
Perfectly. Yeah.
I love the way we kind of frame that because it's really intriguing to me. I'm curious, in your own words though, what makes it easier to sell the product as a notary public loan signing agent, which is you versus the product of being a realtor? What makes it easier on being on a signing agent to sell the product?
Yeah, I just think that for me, when I sell myself, I just talk about how I'm going to take care and really handle every step of the transaction. I'm really detail oriented. It's. I don't think there are many, that many requirements when it comes to, you know, presenting yourself as a great notary public loan signing agent versus being a real estate agent. You just have to know so many things and it's really stressful. Like you're all not only selling yourself, but like you're skilled, like the market knowledge and like, like y to know about construction too. It's just so much especially since I've never owned a home before. At that time, when I was younger, I didn't own a home, so I didn't really know anything about.
Well, I know it's interesting, you're such a young lady, but I think you're so much wiser and then you give yourself credit for it because what I heard is you just told me it's easy to walk in because I'm so detail oriented. I'm so patient. I think there's a couple words you just used. So it's easy to sell you when you are the product like look like when it's easy to sell me because I know I'm great. I know that I'm patient. I know that I'm detail oriented. I'm trying to think what else you said, but I think it's very enlightening. Because I would tell you students, there's nothing better to sell in this world than you. And you really hit home with some of those attributes about yourself. So what you're really saying is it's easy to sell me because I know what I'm good at and I'm not afraid to communicate what I'm good at versus I'm not sure how great this house is, but I know how great I am. Did I summarize that right?
Perfectly.
And so I think it's super interesting that you're a real estate agent in the COVID boom, but you still found it easier to be a notary public loan signing agent even when it was super easy to sell homes. But I love this. You know, I know we're. We're in April 2022, you started your signing service. I mean, girl, I mean, you found your thing. I am so proud of you.
You know, my parents are super proud of me. I mean, they tell me every day like this house is because of you. I can brag to my, brag to my friends about you. Like, this is what I've always wanted for my family.
So I don't know. So. So you bought a house because of the money you're making as a. Yeah.
My income. We couldn't have gone the house. And we got it right before the interest rates went up. So my parents, they love the house. They talk about every day. They thank me because of it. And then of course, I always think about you in the course and how much it's changed my life. Mark, thank you.
Oh my gosh, you're so welcome. I'm just so proud of you, girl. I had no idea you bought a house for the family with the income you're making. This is why I do it. This is amazing. Okay, cool. So, you know, again, you know the reason I want to get you on is not only because of this crazy success you've had financially, but because of your age, man. I think I want to speak to some young adults here specifically. Right. There's a 23 year old right now watching this, like, can I do this business? Right. So let's talk about your income journey. So you started out this business part time, if I remember correctly.
Right. Part time. January.
Cool. So you are a full time, full time job. How much money did you make the first month?
Part time, part time notary? I made one 6K. 1600.
1600. How much money you make your second month? Part time?
February 2021. 3.5K.
So 3500 bucks. How much make your third month part.
Time, March, 5K, $5,000.
Let's talk about this a little bit. You know, there's a couple things I want people to hear is, you know, you're not one of our students who did $8,000 your first month. Right. You're not one of our students who did $10,000 in the third month in the business. Right. And so I think that's inspiring by the way. Okay. Because I think a lot of people think they're like failing if they don't make like 5,000 bucks their first month. But you know what I, what I want to talk about is a couple things on this. You made 5,000 bucks your third month with a full time job. I mean how many hours were you working a day? We mean to make that $5,000, I.
Would work from 5am and probably not get home until like maybe 11. The time spent to putting things in notary gadget, learning more and just preparing myself for the next day with my current work and signings for tomorrow. So I think I probably didn't sleep until 1:30 or 2. Yeah.
And I share that because I think a lot of people see a successful notary public loan signing agent like you just thinks that it just accidentally happened. Right. I mean you were putting in, you know, what you said, I mean 1618 hour days in between working your full time job and then going home, printing docs, going to signings, returning docs, Take someone during your part time days and we'll get to your full time dates in a moment. But I want to inspire some people to really get a day in the life of a part timer. So 5,000 bucks, big money, around a full time schedule in my opinion. What did your average day look like when you were busy? When were you doing signings? When were you working at your job? Kind of walk me through like a day so people can see behind the scenes of what it takes to be a successful notary public loan signing agent.
Yeah. So let's talk about the 5k month. I would wake up maybe 5am and then let's say I have a signing at 6. I would get dressed, hurry up, go straight to the signing and then once I get home I would get ready for my day job. Right. So I mean I was still dressed professionally to the signing, but I'm just saying I wouldn't really dull because I have to go, it's early in the morning, I don't have time to get dressed. So 6am doing the signing. Signing probably takes about an hour and a half because I was newer and I want to take my time. And I have to drop off the drop off of FedEx too, right. And so probably wouldn't get into work until maybe 8 o'. Clock. 8:30. Sometimes I would be late. 8:30 is considered late. Then I would do signings. And keep in mind this is working at my aunt's insurance.
