I've been saying this for years and CNBC just wrote an amazing article on becoming a notary public loan signing agent. What it is, startup cost and how often notary signing agent works. I've been saying this for you, the most in demand side hustle in America. So in this video I'm going to go over this article with you, break it down, tell you what's true, what's not true, but we're going to go through this article together. But before we start, you might be wondering what is a notary signing agent? A notary signing agent is a notary public who knows loan documents. So with that information, that's deep dive in this article together starting with the title this in demand side hustle pays up to $200 an hour and doesn't require a college degree. Yes, when they say in demand is because every single home in America has to have a notary. And I just explained that a notary public loan signing agent is a notary who knows home loan documents. And every single home in America needs a notary close. So it's crazy in demand. Millions and millions of homes close every single year and notaries who understand this make up to $200 per hour just like I stated in the headlines. So let's deep dive into article now and cover each one of their topics to make sure that you know exactly what they're talking about. So let's start with bullet point number one. Becoming a notary signing agent can take less than a month and doesn't require a degree. So let's do a deep dive into that. How come they say less than the month but if you're not a notary, on average it takes about three to four weeks for your state to issue your notary commission. Here's the best part about becoming a notary. There's only five or six states in this country that even require a test. Most states it's simply an application and a background check and bada boom you're a notary. Now what the second part of that sentence says it doesn't require a degree because a notary public who knows loan documents is a notary signing agent. You can learn the loan documents on your own or you can take an amazing course like the loan signing system that can teach you this. All you need to learn are the five most common loan signings you would see at a signing table or which is a refinance, a purchase, a seller, package, home, medically, line of credit or reverse mortgage. And again, these are skills you can learn on Your own. You don't need a degree, you don't need a specific certification. You just need knowledge and your notary public commission. It is really the best kept secret America for income opportunity. The next bullet point, as you can see here, is the startup cost is under $1,000. I would actually argue it's a little bit less than $1,000. But you're probably wondering, Mark, what are the startup costs for a notary public loan signing agent? The big key is getting your notary commission. Like I just said, super inexpensive. In most states, the next biggest cost is going to be a dual tray laserjet printer. So you can actually print the loan documents that you receive to go sign the borrower. Then after that you have your very basic supplies, notary stamp, a journal, you know, insurance. But collectively you can really get most of this for under $1,000. Especially if you're savvy on the Internet. You can get a lot of these things for really inexpensive. But I would say up to $1,000 is probably a better way. They should have titled this subsection. So let's cover what I think is the best part of this article and that signing agents can make up to $200 an hour. $200. Now why do they say for an hour? They actually probably should have worded us a little bit different. A notary public loan signing agent can make up to $200 per loan signing appointment. And each loan signing appointment takes about an hour. So really it's up to $200 per loan signing appointment. Now what you're probably wondering is, well, Mark, my state only allows me to charge $2 a signature, $5 a signature, $10 signature, whatever it is. So here's what you got to understand. Loan signing agents charge a flat fee for having the borrower go through their paperwork. A loan signing agent has the skill set of knowing where every signature, date and initial is on 150 pages. That skill is charged as a flat fee to the signing agent. Three or four signatures on average in the loan doc set needs to be notarized. But that's actually just an included part of your service. You are not charging for signature notarized in the loan documents. You're doing that essentially for free, but charging a flat fee to drive out to the borrower's house to put it in FedEx or return it to the escrow company. You're charging a flat fee for knowing where all the signature dates, initials are. You're charging a flat fee for summarizing the loan documents. So again, the biggest misnomer is. Oh, well, Mark, my state only allows me to charge per signature. You're not charging per signature. You're actually notarizing for free. But the loan signing is what you're charging for the skill set and the Service. Up to $200 for an appointment that takes about an hour. So they end the article with the best part, which is the flexibility.
