How do notaries get paid and how quick do they get paid? Great question. We are independent contractors, meaning that we get 1099. It's our responsibility to pay taxes on that money. But you're a business owner, so you have a million write offs and if you know what you're doing, you can keep most of every single payment. Number two, how quick do we get paid? And the answer is it depends where you get the signing from. So if you get a signing from a signing service, it is usually net 30 to 45 days after you do the signing appointment. So if you do a signing on the first, you usually get paid by the end of the month. If you do a signing directly through a mortgage professional and you go through an escrow and or title company, you usually get paid three to five days after the signing occurs. So this is why I teach all of my students how to go direct and I teach marketing scripts and why it's importance of not going with a signing service. Because signing services should always be used as an internship as you're building your direct business. So on average three to five days you'll get a paycheck after the signing is completed through direct business and then it's 30 to 45 days for a signing service appointment.
