I Didn’t Get Paid for 18 Months — Here’s Why I Kept Going

People always ask me how did I build it? And there was 18 months I didn't get paid a dime. And I always tell people when the mission is bigger than the money anything's possible. I think a lot of times people put money before the mission and that's why they fizzle out. That's why they give up in three months, that's why they give up in six months. But when the mission is bigger than the money then you can see it through to the end. And so literally I was being a notary doing title company signings. My wife and I had a newborn in the middle of the startup phase. But the mission of helping others was more important than money. And now I'm blessed to say that you know I helped a lot of people but that was secondary because it was the mission. And I feel like if you can have a mission led business I really think the money kind of follows itself. It makes itself.
