Welcome to a loan signing system notary networking event. Did you know that we have free loan signing system notary network events and notary education events all across this country. I'm talking from Miami to Las Vegas to Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Charlotte, all across the country to help you grow your loan signing agent business. Now, some of these are free, some cost like 5 or $10, help cover event space like this one. Again, have you ever wondered what goes in, what goes down? Well, you don't need to wonder anymore because we're going to show you right now. Follow me.
Hey, we're here. LSS Southern California. First one of the year, baby.
The key to this entire job is to network and meet as many people as you can possibly can every single day. Because nobody knows that you're a notary public when you're walking down the street. Nobody knows that. You know there's a billion transactions that happen on notarizations in the United States every year. So if people don't know what you do, how are they going to ever contact you? I learned from some of the mentors that I, that I have that you have to talk to people every day and tell them what you do. If you don't, you're not going to be successful in this business. No escrow officer is going to come knocking on your door and tell you do you want to do a signing. Remember that this escrow officers or title officers or even real estate agents or loan officers, they have already contacts that they work with. But that doesn't mean that you're not going to be an additional contact for them. Every single office or every single escrow person that I work with, they've already had contacts, people that before I met them, but through the persistence and the relationship that you build and the quality of work, which is very important by the way, is what's going to get you in the door. Once you get in the door, just continue to be the same person that wanted to be in there in the first place. Don't ever change.
Don'T be discouraged. If you do go to a company and we do say, hey, I'm really sorry, I can't talk to you right now. Don't be discouraged. It's that we really don't have the time. We got deadlines to meet. Come back in the afternoon or come back the next day or you make an appointment, keep going. Don't let that discourage you. And yes, it's gonna be scary, but you'll see that the rewards will be great. I think email is what mostly I get. And I think it's nice. I mean, it's something that says, oh, look, she cared enough to send an email, making sure that everything was fine. You don't want to tie up the person's emails, you know, by sending 10 or 20 of them. But one to say, hey, how did everything go? Can I do anything better or is everything okay? Here's my invoice. How they present themselves. Do you present yourself all timid or like, oh, I don't know. Or do you say, hey, you know what, I want to do this, I want to help you, I want to help your clients. Even though inside you might be nervous if you just come across with a little bit of confidence. That's all really, we have to guide ourselves with, are you comfortable enough to do the job that you are going to be asking me to give you? If the person that's signing on the written line says John B. Smith, but his driver's license shows John Bryan Smith, you need to notarize them as John B. Smith, because that's the way he's signing. Now if he signs Brian Smith, that's fine, you can go ahead and notarize him. But if he signs the way the documents state, which is the way you're supposed to be signing, is the way the documents state, regardless of what the driver's license says. We don't care to see white out, you know, yeah, we all make mistakes and that's fine. You know, people sign in the wrong spot and that's fine. You just cross it out. You don't make it so that you can't see what was there. You just cross it out in your initial and that's it. Every time that I send something out, especially if it's a new notary, I will put my cell number and I'll also put the loan officer and phone number because that's the worst thing you want to do is resigning at 8 o' clock at night and not having a way to get a hold of somebody. If you mess up, if you don't know what to do and you can't get a hold of anybody, just ask. Because it's better that you ask than you do what you think is right and not really know.
I Google what can I do with my notary commission. And Beautiful's Mark's face came up. Yeah, it changed my life. You can be a notary public loan signing agent, gives you all the information, all the education. And the best part of it is you're not alone. This is a community so whenever you feel like you're second guessing yourself, not only will your mentor always reach out to you, or you can reach out to them, but you have a whole community of other notaries who will support the road to your success per se. Very grateful for Mark, for the community, and happy to be here where I am and striving for more. Keep growing.
My first meetup of the year. My first meetup ever. It was fire. D was dropping nuggets. Bill was dropping nuggets. Took a lot away from this meeting. Very straightforward. And hey, if you aren't a loan signing system student yet, get on it.
And I'm so grateful for everything that I've learned for the community, for the team teachings of LSS and just all of everybody.
There's so many places you could be on a Saturday, but you chose to be here. Give yourself credit for that. Give yourself a round of applause.
