Hi, Mark here at the loan signing system. Back with my quick loan signing agent tip of the week. And today's quick tip of the week is you should be getting a thumbprint for every single one of your journal entries in your notary journal. Why? Because it protects you as a notary public. And that's what we are first and foremost as notary signing agents. A borrower can never come back and be like, that's not my signature in your notary journal. If you have a thumbprint that goes with that signature, it will protect you if anyone ever accuses you of fraud. So the quick tip of the week is get a thumbprint. Now, is it required by every single state to get a thumbprint with every journal entry? The answer is no. Every state is different on what's required to have a thumbprint. But it's my rule of thumb, pun intended, to get a thumbprint for every single thing that I notarize within a loan document set. If you like this tip, please click like down below.
