Don't do this and that is highlight mortgage loan documents. I know you as a new notary public loan signing agent are kind of panicking like well mark, what if I miss a signature? So I want to go through and highlight every single page where the borrower has to sign. Don't do that. Those are legal documents. The moment you highlight the documents is the moment they become not legal paperwork. So the solution, if you have some anxiety about missing some signature states initial is to use stickies. The sign here, date here, stickies. Those frankly a bit more expensive than just getting generic yellow stickies. But either works. You can put a yellow sticky on every single location where the borrower signs dates initial to ensure when you get to the signing that you're not going to miss anything because you pre sticky all the locations under a pressure free environment like your home getting ready for the signing appointment. But whatever you do, do not highlight the loan documents because it will then legitimize the signing itself. Because banks do not take loan documents that have been disfaced which would be highlighting where the borrowed date signed an initial. So again don't use a highlighter. If you're brand new, use stickies. Sign here, date here, stickies. There's nothing wrong with it. The borrower doesn't know if that's normal or not normal. Do what you have to do to not miss signature dates and initials. I hope this tip helped your business. And for more tips and tricks just like this, follow this page.
