I'm here at North American title, one of my biggest clients for my signing service. And I'm here saying hi to my clients and something hit me like a ton of bricks. One of the biggest mistakes a notary public loan signing agent can make when they walk into an escrow officer is to ignore the escrow officer assistant. See, what you need to understand the way escrow works is the escrow officer assistant really handles the majority of the desk. They're the ones who actually give the signings to the notary signing agent, not the escrow officer. And most notaries come in and they just ignore the existence. Would you say that's true, Amy?
I would say majority of the time it's true.
They walk in and go directly to the escrow and bypass you. And the crazy part is you're giving the signings out.
Yes.
Right. So you know what I want this really video to make sure I'm communicating is when you walk into an escrow office, make sure you don't forget about the escrow office assistant, you know, because I really want the people watching this to understand how much influence an escrow officer assistant has on handing out signing. So over real quick, how many years have you been an escrow officer assistant?
Over 20 years.
20 years as an assistant in escrow officer. This is giving you the inside information, which is amazing. Her phone's literally ringing in the background. This is great. So really quickly to end this video, how many signings over 20 years you think you've literally given out to notary public loan signing agents?
Thousands.
Thousands.
Yep.
Incredible, right? So once again, she's literally ended up thousands of notary public loan signing signing agents. And most notaries walk right past your desk directly. The escrow officer. When you're the one who really hands out the majority of the signings.
Yes, that's correct.
Unbelievable. I hope guys really have that sunk in. So when you're going out direct and you're marketing, understand that you need to speak to the assistant, not just the escrow officer. I'm Mark. I teach the loan signing system. I hope this video gave you amazing insight on how to market your business directly to escrow officers. That was a shorter interview, but I hope you truly understand how powerful this piece of content was. And to really understand why this piece of content so powerful is to understand the dynamic between an escrow officer and their assistant. So if an escrow officer is busy enough to actually have an assistant, the division of responsibilities usually fall like this. It's the escrow officer's job to be the front of the house, what I would call relationship management. It's their job to get new clients. It's their job to make sure the client relationship is well and thriving. It's their job to do recordings, anything that really puts more business on their desk. That's the escrow officer's job. And if they have an assistant, the administrative responsibilities falls on the assistant. Like ordering payoffs, ordering insurance, figuring out what notary public loan signing agents to hire on the loan documents. It's not the escrow officer's job to call three or four notaries to attach a notary to a loan document set. It is the assistant's responsibility. That's why if you ever approach an escrow officer who's busy enough to have the assistant to make sure you create that relationship with the assistant, because that is the one who's usually finding the notaries. Now, does the escrow officer find a notary from time to time? Of course. But the majority of the escrow officers jobs not ordering insurance, ordering updated payoffs, ordering HOA documents, or finding notaries, it's relationship management. All the administrative duties falls on the assistant. And that's why this piece of content was so important. So remember, if you're ever out there prospecting and trying to get direct business from escrow officers who have an assistant, don't glance over the assistant. You heard directly from Amy. She's handed out thousands of signings in her assistant career and I wanted to make sure that you're out there getting the most signing opportunities you can by never overlooking the assistant.
