Business owners are always students for some reason. We get our NA certification and we stop. We get the loan signing system certification and we stop learning. Learning needs to be a continual process. It needs to be something that you do every day. It's something you become. You know, we're notaries, man. Like, living out of our car is our jam. And yeah, I know, but yet some of you guys take that time to listen to music and listen to other things, not listen to anything. When you should be feeding your brain audio books, podcasts. A good business owner is constantly trying to get smarter. One of my favorite sayings, if you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room. So your job is to constantly get smarter and understand. Now what should a business owner get smarter on? In my opinion, there's three main topics a business owner should get smarter on. Sales and marketing. Okay, so look, we're all notaries and signing agents. That doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to Russell Brunson or Jeb Blunt and read other people that are outside of the notary niche. Because look, a business owner understands that sales and marketing is sales and marketing. You know, a lot of times, you know, I'll hear talk to other, you know, people who are hairstylists and only follow other hairstylists. I'm like, why? Well, they know how to, they know how to get customers in a haircut. I'm like, no, I mean Brunson. Brunson is one of those genius marketers. You should listen to him and get a nugget. I think too often the employee mentality is, oh, if they're not in my industry, then I shouldn't listen to them. Or the employee mentality is, well, I just wasted 60 minutes for one nugget. What if that one nugget changed your business? So I will listen to podcasts for an hour to get one thing that I can pull out. But employees or non business owners are like, well, shouldn't every 60 minute be life changing? No, that's not a real perspective. So the number one thing that I teach my students is all avenues of marketing. It's not just, oh, this works and this works. It's like, why don't we see what this person does in this industry and see if it works for this industry. I've had people who are recruiters on before talking about what they do to recruit. And I can see the blend between recruiting and being trying to get title business. But your job is to put those dots together. Does that make sense? So I want you to start reading and listening into audiobooks because business owners are always feeding their brain. That doesn't matter to me if you're in general notary work or if you're a notary public loan signing agent. You should be listening to everybody. Everything at all times leads me to the next thing that you should be always be focusing on. That's personal growth. Conference like this I'd call personal growth. But again, we have so much time in our hands that we should be listening to Jim Kwik or whoever, Tony Robbins, whoever, your version of that. Gary Vee, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, some of the old school ones. Zig Ziglar is my man. But too many times notaries. What's weird in our society is kind of like, you know, everyone, we graduate high school, we graduate college and all that. So. And we stop learning. It's like, you know, we all sudden we just. For some reason, society says, okay, you've graduated high school, graduated college, it's cool just to like, okay, what's next? And then people wonder why they're stuck and they haven't grown because they're not growing. But they're not growing because they're not prioritizing it. I teach everything like physical health and fitness, nutrition. And I'll get students be like, oh, I don't have time to go to the gym. I'm like, no, just not prioritizing it. There's a difference. You have to start prioritizing things that move your business forward, like sales and marketing, like personal growth. And this last one I'm really passionate on. And what I teach my community is personal finance. Man, so many of you in this room are so concerned about making a dollar instead of learning how to make a dollar grow. We weren't taught personal finance in college or high school. And again, back to that example. I just told you, it's like, you know, all of a sudden we get out of high school or college, we don't take the time to learn. But a business owner understands business is not just about making money. Business is about growing money. So how do you grow? They prioritize that. By the way, so many of you notary public loan signing agents just have their head now. Work, work, work. And they're not figuring out what's doing a 401k and an IRA. What's the difference between Bitcoin and Ethereum? What's the difference between an ETF and what other acronyms out there in business finance? Thank you. But so many people don't take the time because you're not business owners yet. And that's what this whole talk is. I need to start thinking and breathing and acting like a business owner. So you have to take the time to in your podcasts, start listening to personal finance coaches. Learn how investing in compound interest and how that works. Too many times, business owners. And it's not just signing agents, by the way, or notaries. We get in this make money, make money, make money, make money mode versus cool, I've made it, how do I grow it? And again, that's just prioritizing your education. You need to be listening to people who are not just notaries. Any industry, there's a podcast, get it. If you need some good podcasts, DM me on our Instagram page. I'll send you some. You need some good audiobooks, Send some Jeb Lounce, Sales EQ on the best sales book I've ever read. You should read it. It's going to change your mind, it's going to change the way you do sales, but you should always be looking. If you need any book recommendations, please DM me as well. I'll give you some book recommendations, but you've got to always be learning, man. You need to start prioritizing your education. That's why business owners are always students and that's why you're going to be always students. Let's Sam.
