Which Notary Public Loan Signing Agent Certification Should You Take First? NNA or LSS?

Mark from the Loan Signing System argues beginners should take LSS certification before NNA. LSS covers loan documents, closing statements, and marketing to land your first signings. NNA is better after you have experience and want access to title companies.

I'm frequently asked what certification do I need to take first, the loan signing system certification or the NNAs? And the answer depends if you're a beginning loan signing agent or not. If you are just becoming a notary public loan signing agent for the first time, then without a shadow of doubt you you should take the loan signing system training course and certification first. Why? Because understand that the NNA signing agent course is designed for signing agents who are already notary signing agents so they can be certified to work with some specific title companies. And if you're new to the industry, the NNA certification isn't quite for you yet. And there's a reason why that the NNA doesn't even give you a set of loan documents with their certification. It's because they assume you have already done loan signings, which in that case would mean you don't need any loan documents to study. But trying to learn to be a notary public loan signing agent without ever seeing a full set of loan documents would be like trying to learn how to play basketball without ever actually holding a basketball. See, a basketball to a basketball player is loan documents to a notary public loan signing agent. They are the single most important thing for a beginning notary public loan signing agent to learn. And the NNA does even give you a set. I mean, how in the world can you learn to be a notary public loan signing agent without ever seeing, touching or getting to know a set of loan documents? The very thing you're going over with borrowers. Once again, the NNA certification is designed for experienced signing agents. That's why they don't give you any because it's not meant for notary public loan signing agents. There's a number of other things that's missing for their training. They don't tell you how to organize a loan signing appointment. They don't tell you how to go over closing statement note, mortgage, deed of trust with the borrower. And the NNA doesn't even give you real estate and Morgan definitions to study. How can you enter a brand new industry and not even know the industry verbiage? Now this video is not a knock on the NNA certification. It's just not meant for brand new notary public loan signing agents. It is meant for signing agents who have already been signing agents. This is also why if you've taken the NNA certification and still don't feel comfortable that you can even do a signing. That is because once again, the NNA is for experienced signing agents, not beginning signing agents. Taking your NNA certification first is like learning how to drive a race car without even knowing how to drive a car. Lastly, the biggest thing the NNA doesn't teach you is how to market yourself so you can actually receive loan signings. Why? Well, because they assume as an experienced notary public loan signing agent, you already know how to market yourself. And that's also why they're a signing certification only. See, the loan signing system is so much more than just a signing certification. We are a total immersion into becoming a successful notary public loan signing agent which includes teaching you how to market yourself as a notary public loan signing agent. What good does it do to know how to do a loan signing but not how to get actual loan signings? That's like being able to drive a car but not knowing where to drive it. I mean, how you actually get loan signings. The NNA doesn't teach you that. The NNA does have a great certification. It absolutely holds weight in the industry and you will need to take it eventually. Just not if you're a beginning notary public loan signing agent. Save your money. Take the NNA certification when you are more experienced and need to expose yourself to more title companies. Taking it right out of the gate is overzealous and frankly a waste of money. And more importantly, you won't learn what you need to as a beginning signing agent. And this is specifically why I created the loan signing system training course and certification to teach both new and experienced notary public loan signing agents what the NNA does not teach you. And that's the ABCs of being a notary public loan signing agent. Every single thing you need to know, including how to get your first signing, how to get your 100 signing and even how to get you 1000 signing if you want to be walked through a set of loan documents. So you want to know what every single question our borrower will ask you. You want loan documents in your hand? Take my certification first. You'll be glad you did. Oh, and the last thing that NNA does not do that the loan signing system does do. All of my courses come with 100% money back guarantee.
