Here's 3 things to never say in door-to-door sales. First thing: "Sorry to bother you, sir." Guys, are you sorry to bother them? No! You're there to sell them pest control, so cut that out of your vocabulary and instead say, "Hey, glad I caught you." You're gonna sound way more confident and you're not gonna sound like a pest. Second thing— keep it running because we're gonna cut it. What was it? Tell me. Um, just stay there, do not move. Second thing, sorry to bother you, correct me if I'm wrong. Ready? As you know. Yeah, okay. Second thing, stop saying correct me if I'm wrong. Guys, these people have no idea what their service does, so stop saying correct me if I'm wrong, but your company does blank. Guys, sales is a transfer of certainty, and you're the one that's supposed to be the expert. So instead of saying, "Correct me if I'm wrong," say, "As you know," or, "I know for a fact." You need to be the expert, and if you're not the expert, they can't borrow certainty from you. And third and final, never say, "Are you pregnant?" I did this once. She wasn't pregnant. I still made the deal.
