In this vlog, Austin Maser documents day three of a door‑to‑door pest‑control sales run in Birmingham, Alabama. He opens with a mindset mantra about consistency and resilience, noting that the first two days were mixed and emphasizing the need to keep showing up. Austin explains a strategic shift from a generic "cookie‑cutter" approach to targeting older, rural‑type neighborhoods, which he believes yield higher conversion rates. The video interleaves on‑the‑spot sales interactions—most notably a brief pitch to a resident named Pam—followed by Austin’s recurring promotional plug for his Maser Sales Training course (code MASER20). Mid‑day, the crew takes a snack break at a local food‑truck, where Austin discusses quesadillas, his past work at Chipotle, and uses the conversation to re‑engage prospects. A later encounter features an elderly homeowner who stores Dursban pesticide, prompting a discussion about legal permits and safety. Throughout, Austin references team members (videographer Norman, colleagues Jenna, Hope, Matt) and sets a concrete goal: secure three new pest‑control accounts before nightfall, citing the need for high‑volume sales to meet compensation targets. The vlog blends personal anecdotes, sales tactics, legal cautions, and motivational commentary, culminating in a call to action for viewers to join his training program.

It's day 3 in Birmingham, Alabama. I drive home tonight with Norman, my videographer, and the mindset going into day 3 is, hey, let's just leave everything out. I'm gonna leave everything out there and try to get more deals than what I've gotten so far. And in door-to-door, you have to just be consistent. Just because something doesn't go my way, I can't freak out and I can't, you know, start questioning whether or not I'm I'm good at this job or not. And the reality is the last 2 days, some of the chips haven't fallen in my favor, right? And that's okay. I keep showing up. We still went to the gym this morning. Check out the episode for my gym routine. I talk about my middle school and high school bully. It's fun. And now I'm heading out to Aria right now. The good old, uh, the BBC is driving us to Aria right now. The big black Cybertruck. Get your mind out of the gutter. Um, but We're gonna go have a big day. It's gonna be fun. We shifted from going cookie cutter out here to going more into like older stuff just because I feel like the cookie cutter just got pretty slammed. And the older stuff, what I've seen in door-to-door, the managers, they'll go hit like virgin territory cookie cutter stuff and then send their lower performing reps to this country bumpkin stuff. It's like, dude, I can go to these country bumpkin areas and do really, really well. That's what I did in Atlanta this year. So all areas has its different, has its unique strategies. But so far we've seen the most success in some of this other stuff is a little bit older. So wish us luck today. And luck is where preparation meets opportunity. And I have been preparing a lot. We have been putting a lot of knocks in. So it's time for me to collect. We just showed up to area and when I parked my truck, in front of somebody's house, I always try to just like address the elephant in the room and I'm like, hey, this is me. So that way you know who I am. So we're going to hit this door first and then this one right after just to basically, you know, clear the air. Like, this is who I am. I'm not doing anything crazy. We're just selling pest control. Oh, dude, did you— the back pop. Getting old. We've got two things going on. Number one, our truck's in the neighborhood today, so I have an opening at 5 o'clock. Number two, we're doing training, so that's why they got me mic'd up. We got Norman here doing training stuff. And your name one more time was?
Pam.
Pam, okay. So like Pam from The Office. Yeah! There we go. So basically what we'll do for you, I'll tell you what we do, how much it costs. If you like it, we do it. If you don't, we don't. Yes, ma'am. So I just texted you a little bald guy. What I'm also going to do is shoot you a selfie of me and you, that way you remember who I am. All right, sounds good. Good to meet you. Thank you for your time.
All right.
God bless you, ma'am. Take care. Bye-bye. Between 5 and 7. What up, guys? If you're wondering how I close some of these deals, you need to hop on my training course. I've put together a course with over 100 live sales, and I show you exactly what to say in every single market with every single demographic. And use code MASER20 to get $20 off your first month of Maser Sales Training. Code is MASER20. See you on the other side. You know who we should text is the guy that didn't have the courage to make the decision. You're signing it. Feel how good it feels to just call your shot. Jenna, we freaking did it. And dude, just feel that. And all I need from you, just your John Hancock. When I, when I talk to a couple people, I, I, I will be confident. His name was Jeremy. I said, I don't want— I don't want you to be— we can't— you don't be a Jeremy in life, people. Well, I have my best friend is Jeremy, okay? But I have a good Jeremy. I also have a friend who needs help, and this is our friend that needs help. So we're gonna call him and get to the shade right here. This is our friend Jeremy from the other day who I gave a motivational speech to. You're gonna walk in and like arms up, background music, right? And you have— you're gonna walk in a confident man. You walk in after telling me no, Jenna's gonna be like, my man didn't call the shot. Dude, you can do it. I will within the next 2 days.
Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice message system.
Jeremy doesn't want to be a better man. Jeremy wants to be a bad husband. That's a shame. Jeremy I know would have done it. This Jeremy? Nope. What a damn shame. I'm doing it dirt cheap. Yeah, um, not interested. Okay, no. All right, I just said the words dirt cheap just because I got no buying signs, and so I did the traditional, yeah, we're doing everything dirt cheap. And I just went quiet because it's an easy way to get off the door. So yeah, don't say dirt cheap if you're actually trying to sell though. We just stopped to get a recharge on all of our camera equipment and we found this beautiful food truck. So we're gonna get a quick quesadilla and then go out and hopefully get one or two more before we have to go drive up back up to Georgia. And we're gonna go back into this country bumpkin stuff because we've had some good success there. Our deal yesterday came from an area like this and our deal today came from an area like this one, and we get it at $109 monthly. So the whole idea in pest control is to sell a ton of accounts and a ton of revenue because the more you sell, the more your company will compensate you. So this is a little snack break. I'll let you know right now, during my Golden Door year, we didn't do like taco breaks, okay? Like it was go, go, go all the time. Now we're doing content creation, so This is dope. I mean, this is fun, uh, but we're doing— we're recharging all the batteries, uh, to be able to go back out and resell and get more content for you guys. So we're gonna enjoy this quesadilla and then just go rip. Time to chow down on a quesadilla, and then we're gonna go close our last couple deals of the night. Um, Hope's here. We're having some fun, okay? I think in door-to-door it's okay to have some fun. Okay, so we're gonna eat this. We're not any— we're We're not in the prime time yet, so we're just getting a little bit of a snack and then go throw down. We paid $13 for these quesadillas. They're freaking small. She got us good. She got us on a $120 monthly.
What?
Are you more of a quesadilla guy or a taco guy? I like me a good quesadilla. These things are freaking good. I used to work at Chipotle when I was in, uh, high school, and then even in BYU I would work at Chipotle. I got half-off burritos. My wife and I, we were dating, I come home with Chipotle every night. I got half-off, and when I worked a shift, I got free food. Safe to say that was the time when I used to weigh 250 pounds. Now I'm slimming out a bit. Mexican food, best food in the world. If I could only pick one food the rest of my life, it'd either be Greek or Mexican. So yeah, chowing down on this side of the neighborhood. So we just got— you ever been to that taco truck right there? Oh yeah. It's decent. That's okay. I was not thrilled. Yeah, I got a quesadilla there and it was kind of— it was $13. It was this big. I was like, eh, not— I'm okay with that. Yeah. Our quesadilla just got us a deal because we started talking about the food truck. The food truck's like a 2-minute walk away. It's right outside this neighborhood. And I was like, have you had that food truck yet? And I was like, it sucks. Okay. By the way, the quesadilla was nasty. I didn't do it in the video. I just didn't think it was the time. It was gross. I had to take like half the quesadilla and half— like I had to take off half a quesadilla because it was just loaded with cheese. It was kind of gross, but I talked about it. Everybody thinks that taco stand is just disgusting. So we fell victim of the taco stand today. Now we just need to find out if we're going to be just sharting ourselves on the way home to Georgia today.
You're riding too fast. Please slow down.
Here, get the, get the doorbell, Matt. Knock knock, bug guy.
I'm an old man.
I know.
I got Dursban. I got almost a case of Dursban downstairs.
That's illegal.
I know.
You got a permit for that? Yeah, you got a permit?
You've got to be kidding me. No, I'm just an old man and I have stored it for a while and it still works. You know, I, I sprayed my basement the other day. I have a bathroom and everything in my basement that I have a hell of a time with Granddaddy Long Legs.
Really?
I sprayed my basement down, you know, where I lived at and everything. Yeah, I ain't seen one in a damn week.
But you gotta have a permit for that stuff, it's illegal.
I don't have to have a permit, I'm an old man.
I'm gonna call it in. Okay, we got it, we got it.
I also got marijuana down there.
I mean, you know, now we gotta go. Bust me, you can bust me, but I don't— I'm playing with you, brother, I'm playing.
I don't think they gonna bust me for a little bit of pot or a little bit of Durzban that's in my house.
But look, man, look, man, I know y'all trying to make a living. Look, look, we'll hook it up though, okay? You tell me this because I want to hook it up. Are mosquitoes a big problem for you or not at all? Now, son, do you want to pay for them?
These are a big problem for—
do you want to pay the premium price to get the mosquitoes or just do the normal bugs and get it cheap?
Let me tell you what happened 2 days ago.
Well, just— hey, I want to know, you want to do the big one or just the little package?
Uh, probably just a little thing because mosquitoes are not that big of an issue for me. Well, then that answers my question, is because I smoke cigars and they don't like that, huh? They don't, they don't never light on me.
But so that's a service we're going to start selling, just cigars for mosquito protection.
You see that garden right there?
Yeah.
You see that new dirt?
Yeah.
I paid the girl next door, um, to dig out my compost pile out behind my house.
Yeah.
And yesterday I went out there after she did that We dug a hole probably 4-foot wide, 4-foot deep.
I showed it to you.
If you go back there, they will eat your ass alive.
I know!
You know.
I know.
I got it.
I got the concept. I don't want to go back there. I just want to spray your house.
They will eat your ass alive.
Hey, now tell me this. Have y'all ever had a pest control company, or would this be the first time ever? I told you I have a pest control company. No, no, no. For the termites.
For the termites.
But for like the bugs, who's— who sprayed the house professionally?
No, I've been spraying my house. I told you I had a case of Dursban.
We're not licensed.
I'd like to sell you some.
Nah, okay, look, I ain't even playing, it's $29.
Let me tell you what's up.
Okay, we gotta keep on trucking.
We gotta keep on trucking.
Well, I gotta find 3 people.
I used to sell bug spray myself. I'm a salesman and I sold bug spray and I know it's a tough life. So you got to hit enough people to make it work.
We just want my brother-in-law to shave his head. Okay, you take care. God bless you, sir. Oh, good Gandhi. Here we go. We're going to get 3 accounts before the end of the night. We've got to, like, hit townhomes. It's just— this is not— I mean, my closing ratio could be great in here, but like what I have now shows that I need to go to like high, high, high volume. We need to throw down some cheap, cheap quarterlies, or whatever it takes. I get 3 more deals and Rex Bramwell has the same haircut as me. Will it happen? Let's see. Let's go. That guy said no. Okay, Chad, you didn't laugh. Bad joke. You ain't seen our basement. What do you mean? What's the basement? Oh God, what do we got in the basement? Y'all scaring me now. What? Meet you. Hey, happy we could help. We're gonna get to work on those wasps, okay? Okay, enjoy y'all's day. Yes, I gotta, I gotta keep him walking here. 1, 2, 3, woo! We got 2 more to shave his head. Okay. I'm just going to keep going in here. I just won't get it super, super late. I'm not— I don't want to leave bad reviews for y'all, but I want him to shave his head.
I do too.
Let's go.
