Hello, hello, how y'all doing today?
Get the fuck out of here and don't ever knock on my door again.
Uh, we're doing pest control. If you guys— get the fuck out! All right, God bless, bro. Bring a platoon down here.
You're lucky you didn't draw fire.
Oh, we're just doing training. God bless you, brother. Uh, just rolled up to Knoxville, Tennessee. I'm out here with Hawks Pest Control and we're selling for Green Logic. Let's freaking go. Okay guys, let's go tear it up.
Let's go, baby!
Cool.
Yeah.
Hey, I feel like Romeo and Juliet right now. I take thee at thy word. For real, you know the play, right? Where he's like talking up to her. So look, you have the wasps just like everybody else. They're bad out here. Everybody needs to have pest control, Juliet. So when it comes to the bugs, do you guys have a company yet or still not yet? Yeah, we've got his brother's going to be doing it. And so he works for a big complex. Oh yeah, we— I mean, I just still recommend getting it done professionally. So everybody loves us. We're just doing the full property inside and out. The thing is, I wouldn't recommend doing it with like a— look, look at the one right there. Do you see it? So those are already in your vents. I wouldn't be shocked if we got them inside. And we're also dealing with a lot of spiders here, which I'm sure you've seen. Look, I can kind of show you what we're doing. I can just meet you at the door, kind of show you right here that we can see the sheet. We're just doing everything for over half off. And I mean, I'll be able to get you guys set up for very affordable. I'm not here to break the bank, I'm just here to, you know, kill the bugs. And, uh, really a lot of people out here, fixed income, Social Security, on a budget, so we make it really affordable for the folks out here. But yeah, I can meet you at the door, kind of show you what we're looking at. I'm busy right now. Yeah, cool. Well, let's just do it from the window. I've signed people up from the window before. So basically, uh, we take care of the full yard for you because if you don't treat the yard, then bugs will get inside. Obviously. And, so you got a wasp right here. So we want to make sure we treat the yard for you. What was your real name?
Bee.
Bee? Okay. I'll call you Bee.
Thank you, Bee!
Thank you, Bee! Thank you, Bee! So basically what we'll do then, we need to spray the base of the house, otherwise the bugs will climb up and get in. And I need to basically, I need to brush down your whole house. I mean, it's bad already and it's only July 6th. So let's talk numbers. I think you'll like it, okay? So the owner of the home isn't here. I don't own the home. Okay. You rent? No. Okay. Hey, well, we'll catch you a different day. Okay. You have a blessed day. Okay. Okay. Parkour. Ready? Parkour.
Parkour.
So I'm doing the bugs out here with Green Logic. Good to meet you, man. So we're doing the ants, mainly spiders, stuff like that. Do you have a company yet or not yet?
I do it myself.
Okay, perfect. I like working with guys like yourself. What bugs are you mainly treating for right now then?
Ants.
Okay, inside or outside right now? I've seen both in all the houses.
Uh, depends on if it rains.
Okay, so when it rains, they obviously get inside the house. Your name, sir? Matt. Matt, pleasure to meet you. I like selling to salesmen, dude. You get it. This is the needs audit. Find out how I can help, and then I Give you how I can help you.
I got you.
What you got? So basically, I'll tell you what I do, then I'll hit you with the numbers. If you like it, by the way, just kind of set the expectation. Our truck is going to be here today to— we're filled for today, I think, guys. So we're going to do either tomorrow or the next day. We have the opening.
Okay.
That's why I do a discount. Okay. So what I'll do for you, sir, is I'm going to do a full 30-foot treatment in the yard. That's going to create a barrier around the house. That way the ants don't get close. That is going to prevent— because you'll treat the ants, they'll pop up elsewhere like playing whack-a-mole. Um, I know you guys are getting the occasional spider web around the eaves. Anything big or just mainly the ants? Okay. Um, the garage is a hot spot for ants. They like to get in, so I'll have you pop that open, assuming we do it. We'll flush everything out, make sure it's all good there. Um, inside, mainly bathrooms or kitchen areas that you're dealing with?
Uh, just the back door.
Okay, that's what I was talking to a guy earlier today, same thing. They get by the back door. So, uh, I can treat inside if you'd like. Would you even want the inside or just the outside? Depends.
Okay.
I'd recommend on the first one we do the inside. I'll throw it in for you. So the last thing I need from you, I'm not going to charge it till we do that first one. Would you rather do debit or credit for the first?
We're going to do debit.
1, 2, and 3. Brother, it's a pleasure meeting you. You got everything emailed to you. Okay. God bless. You'll see tomorrow. Hey, they're in the training process, so. Okay. Take care, my friend. Okay. So a lot of nos and we get a yes. That's how sales is. So with that one too, it's like, what was the main problem? Ants. And so the main thing is just like talking about the granules. And I can train— I can talk to you guys right in front of him because he's also in sales. But the main problem was what? Ants. So then I'm like, cool. Now, was he kind of a lay down? Yeah. But is there some sales reps that would have totally fudged that?
Yeah.
Absolutely. Did I ever ask if it was okay? Nope. I just assumed the heck out of it because he's like, yeah, cool, we've been looking, like, we need something. Great, sign right here, give me your card, done. Anything you guys noticed?
I noticed that when— especially because he just mentioned seeing the ants, like, you asked him about the spiders and he said he didn't care about it. You didn't even talk about it.
Nope, didn't care about it.
Literally, like, I'll still talk about it. And so I feel like maybe sometimes over-talking loses you stuff.
If there's anything to be learned from that, it's called ammo— that's called ammo dumping. Okay, so ammo dumping is when you talk about things that don't matter. Well, when you're just like spewing your service pitch, that guy would not have cared about mosquitoes. He wouldn't have cared about ticks. I mentioned it as an afterthought. All he cared about was, can you kill my ants? Yeah, done. And so that's why I didn't even mention the wasp. I'm like, yeah, whatever, we're just going to do the base and the— like, he literally is getting a yard service and a base spray. He's stoked about it.
Yeah.
So you'll notice I did not show you the full sale there. It's because I want you to invest in the training course. Guys, on the training course, I had over 150 live sales of me selling to real people, real-time, no objections, all over the country. And doesn't matter what shirt I'm wearing, it's all the same, guys. Pest control is pest control, sales is sales. So if you don't pay, you don't pay attention. I'm happy you're here on my YouTube page. That's a lot of free content. But if you really want to take this job seriously and treat it like a career, invest in yourself, put a little bit of skin in the game, and let's get on the training course, guys. I have an iOS app with an Android app coming soon. Plug into this daily and you will sell lights out. You'll be at the top of your leaderboard and people are going to wonder how you got there. Guys, you need to train daily. Hop on the course today. Let's get back on the video. See you soon.
Went today.
Oh, we got, we got one.
Did you?
We did good.
Golly, door-to-door sales.
That's right.
You guys are, you guys are bad.
Yo, no, it's like if I said you're— I'm a bad man.
You got, you got to be.
Yeah, for sure.
What, what, what's one thing you learned?
Stay in the pocket. Assume the sale is good. Yeah, don't judge that somebody's not going to buy.
What you guys are doing, man, you bet, you bet, you better— it's like cold calling somebody, right? That's what you're doing. You got about 20 or 30 seconds to bring that wall down. I like— y'all are like the, uh, Y'all are like the circus in the car business.
Y'all come in. Yes. Hey, take care. Because when you guys have consistent inputs, it's a lot easier to have consistent outputs. If you have no inputs, no morning routine, no nothing— that's why we talked about it this morning— it's harder to have consistency on the doors. Like, what you do for your studies and what you do for your physical, like, and what you do for spiritual, like, all that stuff's so important. If you're an empty— if you, if you're empty inside, it's really hard to do this job because, I mean, you guys saw me get told no a lot. Am I right? Like, if I am not confident in myself or if I don't have a— my bucket's not full, how can I then capitalize when some guy is open to being sold or open to being closed?
Right, right.
So that's why I stress so much those routines, the vision, all of that stuff, because if you do that stuff, it's a lot easier to be better at this job. And even if your numbers don't go up and you're working out and going to the gym and going to church, you're a happier human.
Yeah, like when I first got out here, my first day ever knocking doors, I popped 4.
Good.
Um, and then after that, like, I like 3 the next day and then like 2 the rest of the week, and then I was consistently like popping 2, like Johnny, like you remember. And, uh, and then, well, I come out here and the first week, like, I don't have a very good week. I put up like 6 $6K or something, barely. And then it just starts getting worse and worse, and I'm like, you know, just keep doing what I'm doing. Now, like last week, I bageled the entirety of the week. The week before that, I made 2 sales. And so like now I'm just like, you know, it feels weird because it's like, I know I can sell, I know I used to sell, and I'm not doing that much different.
You just said, you said, you know, you used to be able to sell. Like that, you have this story going on that like something happened and it's like permanent now. What happens, and this is not— you're not in a bad spot, like you can break this right now, okay? You have allowed yourself to think that this Bagel train is like a continuous thing. It was just a bunch of isolated events. Well, you've allowed it to turn into like, like, yeah, oh my gosh, can I sell? Yeah, and you're actually putting a lot of pressure on the next deal that you get. For sure. Is that— you put a lot of pressure on it right now, dude?
I fumbled the app. The biggest laydown I've ever ran. What happened my entire life? He started asking me questions and I stuttered like 4 times in a row and then like just forgot how to resolve it.
Yeah, dude, you're like—
he was just like, let me get a card. Like, I'm good, man. Then he backed off.
You're like, uh, I walked away and I was like, what the hell? Like, you're getting nervous about it. It's like, yeah, it's like it's your—
it's like I like didn't even expect him to like say yes, like, and go into it. And so that was the problem, like, I wasn't ready.
Didn't you see how I'm expecting people to say yes? For sure. I'm treating them like they're all gonna be yeses.
Yeah.
Yeah. That's what you have to do. Yeah, so it's like, you're getting so nervous and excited about it, it's like, dude, relax.
Yeah.
Like, don't put so much of your importance in the deal. Yeah. What is better to focus on? Your inputs, the processes. And the deals will come as a result.
Right.
Right? Those days that you had that were slower, they're isolated events. I need you to truly believe that and accept that.
For sure.
It's not a slow, it's not a slump. How are you in your personal life right now?
Not the best. I mean, it's affecting me in every area, really.
Okay.
I'm not, I don't really want to talk to the, to the girlfriend when I get home after a really bad day.
Is she here?
She's in Colorado, but like on the phone, you know?
So if you allow this, this is a really good skill for you to learn, because if you don't learn how to have a slower day in sales and then still show up mentally for your wife or your girlfriend, dude, your wife's not going to want to marry you. Yeah. Like if I showed up every day after a slow sales day, like awful, and I gave my wife leftovers, do you think she actually wants to be with me?
No.
Does your girlfriend love you for who you are or for how much you sell?
Who I am.
Okay, so then show up and like separate that part of your life. This is called compartmentalization. This is— you need to learn this, okay? Because it's not just a sale. Pest control is a learning lab for life. You're learning skills here that will translate into your marriage. If you do not learn how to compartmentalize things, it will destroy you. Okay? Because if you let everything bleed into other places, you can't actually show up to your wife. If you, if you have a bad work day, show up to a bad home day, then everything blends in. That's why it starts with you, by the way. So you need to work on you, be sold on you, work on yourself. Like that morning routine stuff, most important thing I talked about all day. Vision. Most important thing I talked about all day. And that trend, that starts to bleed into other areas. Okay. But if I come home after a slow day and I'm pissed at pissed and I'm pissed at my wife after that, like, that's not fair.
For sure. Yeah.
Yeah.
So just like your girlfriend loves you for who you are, not for how much you sell.
Yeah.
That makes sense. Yeah.
She's great too.
Yeah, she's awesome, dude.
She probably hurts too. Because she's just like, you know, she knows.
Yeah, like, can you just like get over yourself and, and talk to her one day and be like, hey, how'd your day go? And not think about you so much too.
Yeah, for sure.
That'd be good too.
Yeah, 100%.
Because if you stop focusing on you, you, you, you, you, like me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, and you start like pouring into your girlfriend— how'd your day go? Tell me. So here's a question: tell me about your day and then just shut up. Yeah, tell me about your day. Don't say a damn word after that.
Okay.
And then watch what happens.
Okay, I will.
How was that? Talk, tell me more. Okay, tell me about your day. Say that.
Tell me about your day.
Tell me more.
Oh, tell me more.
There you go, great. You get a woman talking forever. There's that whole—
then what?
Then what happened? Yeah, for real though.
You did it.
Yeah, that's all she wants. You get better at listening.
For sure.
You're listening all day, but you can't show up and give your girlfriend or wife the leftovers. When I'm a dad, when I get home, like, I'm not perfect either. Yeah, but like, I want to show up and give my family my best.
Yeah.
So like, just reset.
Yeah.
Don't let work blend into other areas.
Yeah.
That's why a lot of kids suck at this job, because they let work blend into their— like, they're like, oh, I feel so lousy. I'm not going to church. I'm not going to the gym. I'm not going to read. I'm not going to do anything. Their inputs tank. So what tanks as well?
That's exactly what happened with me.
I care a hell of a lot more of like who you're becoming rather than how many accounts you sell. Because if you're becoming a better person, then you will sell more.
