Austin Maser, a pest-control technician for Anthem Bugs, records himself selling door-to-door in Georgia. He closes five deals in 4.5 hours, earning roughly $1,000 in commission by offering the first service for $79 instead of $350, and tailoring his pitch to renters and specific communities.

All right. Just pulled up to Dawsonville, Georgia. Got a little bit of cough. I popped a cough drop and I think it's gone. Hello, darkness, my old friend. But we're going to have a good day. It's going to be fun. This is new development. So just pay attention to how I distinguish termites from pest control pretty much off the rip to help people realize that they need pest control. They just don't have it set up yet. A lot of these people will have had the option to go with like the local provider. You just have to box that company in really, really quick, build value in how you're different and how you do the whole yard. So it's going to be a fun day. We're going to go rip. Let's go. And the spider webs, they're obviously doing nothing, right? Yeah. Is she here right now? No, right now. Okay, different time. Okay. Yeah. All right, well, God bless. Okay, take care. Normally the first one is $350 We're doing the first one today for just $79. No kidding. And then after that, just because we're here— I appreciate your time. But again, like I said, I'm in Miami. Okay, cool, cool. Thank you. With Ring doorbells, I'm going to just try. And then if it doesn't work out, you go, right? Don't waste your time on Ring doorbells. With a Ring doorbell, you can say, hey, do you guys see more ants or spiders? And they're going to think that you're supposed to be there. They'll answer a question, you get some traction. But in that one, she's like, I'm in Miami, I'm in Miami, I'm in Miami. Cool. I'm out. So here we go. How y'all doing today, brother? Oh my goodness. You're riding too fast. Are you guys— you guys on your way in or out or just hanging out? I would like to go in. I'll keep my thing really quick because I know how it is. I got two daughters, so I know how it goes. So name's Austin. We're doing some training stuff today. So I'm with Anthem Bugs. So we do the pest control. That's why he's got— he got me mic'd up and he's recording me because we use this for like training stuff. Take your scooter and go. God bless. Because this job can be tough. So I'm going to save you some time. Yeah, yeah. Well, I'm already done. I'm sold. Wife is home. Probably. Let's talk to her about 9. Oh, shoot. I have to be home by 9 tonight. Oh, let's do this. Let's, let's give her a ring real quick. What does she do for work? If she doesn't answer, it wasn't meant to be. She's an ER doctor. Okay, she doesn't answer the phone when she's at work. 5 minutes later. Your husband told me that the, you know, the bugs out here do get bad. It's a rental community, but they don't cover anything. So what part were you saying was a scam? Just the whole— the whole thing. Do you have any questions, or did I do a good job covering everything pretty much? Your guys's last service with me will technically be in July, so you guys will just have one more service when you guys end up leaving. And well, instead of doing like the 2 to 3 year agreements, we'll just set you guys up for one year. That was awesome. I think that in that case, I was trying to push the sale, push the sale, push the sale, push the sale. And then like there was a point where they're like, no, no, no, Friday it has to happen. Where there's a will, there's a way. We'll get it scheduled. I just sent over a selfie, a little text that says, hey, we'll let you know what time Friday, give me a couple hours to get back to you. And so taking selfies with customers really helps because if Adam ever texts me, I'll see a picture of him and I'll know exactly who I'm talking to. So a lot of times, like during the summer, I don't even answer phone calls as they come in. I'll just say, hey, can I call you later? And then I'll see who called me. I'll go to the text thread, find out exactly who's calling me. And oftentimes I can get a good idea of, oh, is this going to be a headache phone call or is this going to be just a normal phone call? Any teachers, military, firefighters, policemen, or healthcare in the family? Or military? What branch? Marine Corps. Cool. That is Air Force for 21 years. A lot of, uh, yeah, a lot of moving around, right? Dubai didn't sound like a bad deployment. He's trying to get back. Yeah, dude, I mean, was he in Dubai or like Alaba— was he in Dubai Dubai? Dubai's something else. Have you been? It's cool, that's cool. We went to Abu Dhabi too. Oh yeah, dude, everything, everything's bigger, better out there. They're building the new They have the Palma, Palma Junior or something like that. I appreciate you, man. Brother, I got a call getting ready to start. Yeah, I got you. Fist bump. Okay. You the man. Take care. Good, good. Name's Austin. I'm the bug man out here. For today, would you rather do debit or credit for that first one? I'll do credit. Yes, sir. Happy we could help, brother. So in that last deal, I had to really lower the rate to make the 1-year contract make sense. And so there's going to be some times where people like really don't like contracts, and that's okay. Just try to make a discount to make it feel like it's less than a year, like, or the overall cost is less than a year. And you'll see how I did that in the very beginning of the sale, basically explaining it's usually way more, but I'm going to lower the cost overall. Oh, if you don't want to pay in full, we'll just do the quarterly payments. That way it's more simple. So off we go. Pest control? Yep. Okay, stay right there. I'm gonna get my husband. You got it, you got it. How are you? Good, good. I said pest control, Super Chief, and your wife said, hey, let me go get the husband. So that's all we're at. All right, beautiful. Let's just go straight to numbers. Yeah, SEC football is something else. I went to Brigham Young University. Oh, did you really? Yeah. So 3— there we go. Okay. Okay. Thank you very much. God bless. Okay. Thanks. Take care. Now, this is beeping at me. Yeah, that was a bull personality type in door-to-door. They just think they want things quick. There was very little rapport. Even when I talked to him about his favorite football team, guy didn't give a lick. He just wanted to know the numbers. He wanted to know them fast. And I closed him pretty freaking quick. So in door-to-door, a lot of times new guys will get scared of pitching to those personality types because they think that they're saying no just because of how they're holding themselves. But that's not the case. Like, those— that was like the easiest sale I've had all day. I just had to go through my pitch super quick, have an assertive energy, and the guy bought. So make sure that when you come across a bull, you hold your ground, you don't stutter too much, you just have a very like sharp cadence, and it's very, very assertive the way you talk. And just go back and study that if you need some one-liners to be able to help you with these, uh, very dry— these are called driver personalities. Okay, what up guys? If you're wondering how I close some of these deals, you need to hop on my training course. I've put together a course with over 100 live sales, and I show you exactly what to say in every single market with every single demographic with every single objection. Everybody needs pest control, and I show you exactly what to say step by step in this course. So hop on the course and use code MASER20 to get $20 off your first month of Maser Sales Training. Code is MASER20. See you on the other side. Where are we headed? You'll see, buddy. 1,19 minus 9,9, that's $20 divided by 3. It's an extra $6.66. That's a very unlucky number. Okay, we don't like that number. So that's a— we won't talk about that, but it's just an extra $6.66 a month. Like, that's it. If we're breaking the bank on the extra $6 a month, you're not. You know what I mean? The thing is though, if you give it to me for a less price, there are like a couple of other friends who are coming. There is one more guy who is actually signing up. We're doing a discount for you guys in the neighborhood. Do you know San Botla by chance? Who is it? We're just doing his pest control and that's my truck right there. So we had another thing, they've got me like mic'd up so we're doing some training stuff. That's why he records me. But you get a good price because of it. You got the nice epoxy floor. I don't want any bugs coming in. Yeah. I heard that you, is it I think Anthem giving you $50? Referral fee? Yeah. Yeah, I'll hook it up, man. So anybody that you sent, how did you hear about that? Did you already hear from? Yeah. Yeah. So every person that you send to me, I'm gonna give you $50. What's a good number for you, brother? 925. But you're about to get an email from us, and happy we could help, man. Thank you. Good to meet you, brother. Thank you. Have a great day, okay? Hey, teach me "have a good day" in Telugu, or something like that if it doesn't translate directly, or "thank you." Thank you. Krutek netelu. Oh, really? Real quick. Krutek netelu. Yeah. I am so smart. I am so smart. Woo-hoo! This couldn't be a more perfect day. He said he did IT. Yeah, everybody's doing IT, brother. There we go. So it's fun. A beautiful home. And so basically I'll show you what we're doing for him. And then my wife's already hollering at me to tell me to get home. I like your goggles. My what? Glasses. Oh, thank you, dude. They're definitely unique. I was just talking— you ever seen Spider-Man? Yeah. Doctor Octopus? How he's like the circle? Like, sounds like— I feel like they look like that sometimes. Okay, so this is for you, and then I'm gonna submit that over to your email. You'll get that here in just a second. Hey dude, have a good day, okay? Diego, thank you, my friend. We'll see you later. I gotta get home. I need to get home. That's all I care about right now. Take care, my friend. All right. We did it. Okay. We're wrapping up the day and we finished up with 5 deals total today. And what a cool day. 3 deals in a renter-only community, followed by 2 deals in some of my favorite type of neighborhood to knock at. If you give it to me for a less price, there are people within the Indian community They're super big on connections, right? So like the first guy I didn't sell, if I was knocking later, I might go back for a callback with him, but I'm done. We got to make it home to my wife now. But like within the Indian community, they're really big within communication. So if you're watching this, you're like, oh, Austin only sells low CV in these communities. Yeah, because they all talk and they all know, like, and they all want a good deal. And so because of that, I'm going to get more repeat business and I'm going to make a lot more money than if I just try to price gouge somebody out here. It's just not smart. That's my hot take on selling in Indian communities. Okay, so I did like a $119. You'll notice I don't say $119, I always say $119. A $119 quarterly for all of them. And then I just hooked them up with like a $50 Zelle. That last guy, I collected his information before I ever even told him pricing, if you've noticed, cuz it was— he was so hot. He was a next-door neighbor. I just got the information, I'll tell you the pricing. And then I just went for the close. There was no objection because the other thing I did there is I pointed to the friend and I said, hey, you're about to get $50. That's a crazy tie-down. Now homie doesn't want to back out. Deal, right? So overall, great day. Time to go home to the wife and the kids. It's going to be a good time. Really, door-to-door is such a cool job because you can do so much with this career. And I just went out and I made— I don't know the exact commission on all this stuff, but I made over $1,000. And like, we've been knocking for what, 4 and a half hours? And, uh, you can do the same thing too if you plug in to training and you learn the way I pitch and the way I interact with people. Which, by the way, was very different with every single person I talked to today. The words were somewhat similar, but the energy was different. And that's the biggest thing that you need to take from Maser Sales Training is you sell to different people different ways. And the golden rule is treat others the way you want to be treated. The Platinum Rule, and the way elite salesmen sell, is treat others the way they want to be treated. Everybody kind of operates on different wavelengths and different frequencies. Your job as a sales rep is to be a chameleon and kind of meet them where they are and match their frequency.
