Insane D2D Pest Sale | Every Objection in The Book

The video records a door‑to‑door pest‑control sales pitch by Austin Maser (the "bug man") to a family with five children. Austin introduces himself, mentions a trainee (Jim/James) and positions the company as a local, experienced service. He asks about the homeowners' current pest‑control situation, identifies common local pests (stink bugs, ants, spiders, fleas/ticks) and a specific concern about a puppy. The homeowners raise several objections: a tight budget, a desire to review pricing later, a preference for cash payment, and scheduling constraints. Austin responds by offering a discounted first treatment for $69, explaining a comprehensive 30‑foot yard treatment, non‑repellent chemistry that kills colonies, and a quarterly service schedule. He proposes a 12‑month contract with the option to cancel after a year, promises to follow the family to a new home, and attempts to secure a signature and payment method (debit/credit only, no cash unless paying the full year). Throughout, he uses informal, upbeat language, repeatedly reassures the prospects, and tries to close the sale by reserving a Friday evening slot. The interaction ends with the homeowner indicating they will discuss with the spouse and consider the offer.

I keep checking my watch even though it's dead. Hello! Hey, how y'all doing?
Good, how are you, man?
Hot. Name's Austin Maserati, I'm the bug man. So we've got our truck in your guys's neighborhood today. So we just set up Jim, or James, however he wants to go. We just set his house up for the bug service. These guys are in training. I'm working with them today, so they're brand new. They get to follow around the old bald guy. And just kind of show them the ropes, man. I know I'm not the first guy to come to your door, okay, for like pest control and stuff. Do you guys have a company yet or not yet? We're dealing with a lot of the spiders, a lot of the ants in your guys' neighborhood. The other thing that's been bad has been the stink bugs. You know how it gets out here.
Yeah.
When it comes to the bugs though, I mean, some people like had a company before they switched over to us. Others were doing it themselves. Did y'all have somebody yet or still not yet? Other people have been switching over from like— you guys have somebody yet or not yet?
No, we don't.
Okay, so that's good. So our truck is coming here tomorrow, uh, basically Absolutely, we want to help you out with that. Who'd you guys end up going with?
Uh, we do.
Okay, cool. Yeah, so I've been doing pest control for 6 years and they're one of the solid companies. As far as— I've been doing this job for a long time. A lot of the guys with the mustaches, or if they're bald like me, they're trying to, you know, spray themselves every now and then.
I don't know.
Yeah, I don't know what it is. We're more of a local company, so it's great you've had a good experience with them. You haven't wanted to fire them and they've kept the bugs away up to this point, so they're awesome. What bugs are you guys mainly seeing? Because I know the stink bugs are the worst out here and then the other one have been the ants. My biggest concern— is this dog a puppy, right?
He is, yeah.
Cool. Biggest concern with that is that you're going to be getting a lot of fleas and ticks out in the yard as well. What's it been more for you guys? Yeah, it's stink bugs, spiders. The stink bugs, when they do get inside, where do you guys typically see those? I know like bathroom areas has been a big common one.
We're not interested right now. We've got a tight budget. We've got a plan to spend it on other things.
Gotcha.
Well, you got the kid pulling the weeds.
That's it.
As soon as my kids—
We have 5 kids, so we got them working on it.
Seem like a straight shooter. I'll tell you kind of what we're doing and how we can help, and assuming it makes sense, I'll have a spot open for you tomorrow where we slide you in for a half off. Okay, have you ever had pest control?
How much are we talking?
I do want to earn your business. I'd love to help, and you know, try us out. For people in your situation on a tight budget with 5 kids, I am not here to break the bank. I just want to get you guys set up on a service to where you don't have to— excuse me— don't have to worry about it at all. We're doing it cheap, but you know, no pressure. I'll just basically tell you the differences between us and what we're looking at as far as costs go. It's gonna be granulation there. Okay, next thing we'll do for you, Derek, every time we come out, we'll do that full 30-foot treatment out here in the yard. Reason being is all the bugs like spiders, they get in through the basement, they make their way— I'm sure you've seen several in the kitchen occasionally with the little tiny ants. You currently just have about a 5-foot treatment out, and that's great and all. I just know that with the dog, I just don't want you dealing with any of the fleas and ticks. So we're going to be— I'll put a note here to make sure we do treat for those. We're going to do a 6-foot power spray here at the foundation. That way nothing gets in. That way they don't get in through the wall voids, because if left untreated, they will, you know, permeate through the walls. I've seen some stuff that, like, you wouldn't imagine with, like, ants and spiders. Okay, so, um, ours is going to be like a non-repellent, meaning it's going to get on the belly of the bug The bugs are going to bring it back to the nest, knock out the whole colony. You own the house, right?
Yeah. Okay.
We need to have something to protect the home. When we come out, I'm going to take a brush pole, brush down your entire home all the way to the second story with a product on it. That way they stay down. One thing to knock them down, brother. Another thing to keep them down. Sure. Because I know you've seen the spider webs out here and the wasp nest. They're bad. Service is going to happen every 3 months for you, man. If you see anything in between the every 3-month services, because scientifically you do need to break up the egg cycle. About every season. Call us, come back out free of charge. Now let's talk numbers, okay?
I mean, if you want to send me prices or info, that's fine. Okay. Right. I, I, I, we're going to pass for right now.
We're going to go ahead, treat you as an existing customer tomorrow. Do the first one for just $69. If I did that for you, does that sound fair?
Can you come back Friday?
I will. I'll take a look at it and I'll talk to my husband about it.
You're awesome. Okay, well, if I'm still around, we might be able to come back later. We'll try though. Okay. We might just cut through this way. That's fine. Cool. Hey, take care now. You're awesome.
Thank you. Thanks for your time.
Yeah, have a blessed day. Okay. Sounds like on Friday you feel way more comfortable doing it, right?
Right.
We're just going to pull some strings and move some routes around. I'm going to help you out, but I'm going to have all this sent over to you, man. I'll just have you sign right there in that white box saying I went over that with you.
Sign it?
Yes, sir. But I am so confident that you're going to try us out. Please keep this between me and you for owner. I'm just gonna do it for just 12 months, dude. That way at the end of the 12 months, if you want to dump us, you can. That sound fair?
Well, 12 months—
So, oh yeah, dude, we are going to follow you to your new home. So when you get your new house, call me before you move your stuff in. I'm gonna spray the house before you do literally anything to the house. That way you have a good fresh start. So I literally have everything set up Friday night after 5, after 6:30 PM. I'll come by, do everything for you. The only thing I need from you, brother, John Hancock, and we'll get you rocking and rolling.
I— can I talk to—
Yeah. Is she here?
No, she's gone.
Okay.
Just so that we don't have to go back and forth, talk to the wife, this or that. Just because I've been doing this for long enough to know the women truly don't care if you do it or not. They just want you to, like, make the call. Okay. I've been doing this for a while. Women hate bugs. I've never met one that's mad that you did pest control.
I think so.
Dude, I've been married 6 years. My wife hates bugs. I don't know how long you've been married.
Does your wife love money though?
Yeah, that's why I'm out here working. But now we're talking less than a tank of gas per month. You know what I mean? For Friday evening, I'm not charging it today, but I put it on file today to reserve it. You can either do debit or credit. What would you prefer?
You guys don't do cash?
No, no, no way.
What?
No, no, we do debit or credit.
Well, you can't give the cash to your—
Oh dude, we just do debit or credit.
That's it.
That memorized. Do I need this right now? Yes, to get it reserved. Seriously, I cannot reserve the appointment without it. I am not charging it until the tech pulls up in your driveway.
You guys can't do cash?
Literally don't.
In an envelope?
No, dude.
Sealed?
No, unless you pay for like the whole year in full, they won't do it. Is that something you'd want to do?
Okay, hold on.
You're the man, dude. Don't even stress, dude. You're the man.
I'll be back, dude.
You're— no worries, brother. I'll take a selfie with you, that way you remember who I am. You ready? 1, 2, 3. Okay, hopefully you stick with us for a while. Take care, bro. What up, guys?
