Austin Maser is redesigning his 2,100-sq-ft basement into six zones: an office, podcast studio, homeschool area, playroom, guest bedroom, and family room. He's involving his wife as appreciation for supporting his travel, and hiring professionals to execute the vision. The remodel is his argument for designing your life intentionally instead of letting it happen to you.

Live your life by design, not by default. My wife and I are designing our 2,100 square foot basement this year, and it's part of her incentive for putting up with all my traveling this last year. Like I said earlier, make your wife a part of the journey. So come follow me. This area right back here is going to be where I have my Maser Sales Training office, and I'll have a podcast room here in the back as well. This room over here is gonna be where we have our kids' homeschool. Like I said earlier, make your life something that you designed, and that's where we're gonna have our kids learning every day. And then this old mess over here, we're gonna turn into a playroom for our kids so they can— my kids are nuts, they jump around and everything. Guest bedroom for a family, and then this is gonna be a big family room for us. The point is, we hired somebody to help us cast a vision on what this would look like, and we've hired people to build this for us. So two things: make sure that your wives have a part of the journey. She's put up with so much traveling of mine this year. And second thing, design what you want your life to look like and go build it. Life is so much more fun when you're living life by design and you're the one in the driver's seat. You're not just going through the motions.
