You gonna teach me something?
I could.
Teach me one jig.
One jig?
Yeah. Again, jump, kick. You want to clap with us? Sure. All right. Good! You won! You won! Okay, pleasure. Dude, congratulations. So I'm with Fox Pest Control, okay? Here before. I know, but this time you won because basically the truck— we have an opening on the route today.
You taking the kids away?
That costs extra. Yeah, we, we could do that. It's just going to run you a little bit more. Um, okay, so, so you know this already. We have a truck in the neighborhood. We're doing it for over half off. Now, I already killed a spider for free. That one's free too. Okay, but mainly it's the spiders and then the ants too. What else have you guys mainly been seeing? I know stink bugs are bad, spiders are bad. You Yeah, so okay, and your name, sir?
Mike.
Mike, pleasure. Okay, some other guy came by earlier, he's like my flyer guy, but he wasn't able to do the discounts that I do. Um, so when the truck's here, we do it for well over half off. I'm assuming you guys don't have a company yet set up, correct?
Um, I work with, uh, there's a guy that I work with, his name is Troy, and he comes out and does it for me.
He's just like a guy that you can call every now and then if you need him? It's not like a—
well, I work with him, I see him pretty much every day, but he comes out and I have— I just had to take care of something first.
It's Oh, good.
And what was yesterday?
We'll take it off your hands. The day before yesterday? No, no.
When did they do the septic? We're losing them.
The reality is if you've just got a buddy coming around every now and then, it's not actually going to get rid of like all the webs that you're seeing. What we'll do as well, you know how you get the webs around the window frames? I'm going to take—
That one?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I put those there before I came by. I'm playing, I'm playing.
I think Bill's been here since spring.
Bill's tactic. That'd be great, right? But let's go over numbers just because you guys need the service more than anybody I've talked to today. And these guys, for real, like, We killed a spider in your doorframe, then we killed an ant, and there's spider webs and the ant mounds. Like, we'll be able to help out, but I'm not here to break the bank. A lot of people are on a budget, fixed income, you know what I mean? Who's going to be the one with the money money?
Me.
Is that—
that—
okay, Mike, I got you.
I don't have any of it. That's why I'm— that's why I'm cutting along, not the guys up the street.
Okay, so look, we're going to make it affordable because I know— look, I, I just talked to a, a grandma today. Her name's Grandma Linda. She has two of her granddaughters living— grand— grandkids living with her. Grandkids, and they've got a friend of the grandkids living with them. And she's like, I'm on a tight budget. I want— like, she was such— no, no, Grandma Linda's in a worse position, and Grandma Linda still did it. Oh, but I'm telling you, Grandma Linda, Grandma Linda needed it bad. Yeah, Grandma didn't have no teeth, and she needed— you know what I mean? So like, we're gonna help you out, okay?
Eating the bugs?
I don't know what she was eating, but anyways, so I didn't have teeth, I'd be eating the bugs. So here's what we got. So what's the square footage of the home? Did I see any dogs or just the kiddos?
3 dogs.
3 dogs.
Did you want to add on the one that takes care of the kids or just stick with the bugs?
I want to stick with the bugs.
Okay. Okay. Yeah.
So what's the rider for the kids taking care of them?
I mean, it's pricey.
Okay.
But yeah, so basically the way it works for you, Michael, we always, we're good with communication. What's a good number for you?
My number is 574.
So I'll shoot you a selfie. That way you remember who I am if you ever text me. All right. You want to be in it too? All right.
You're good in it.
1, 2, 3. All right. You're in there. There is literally nothing like my training course in the entire door-to-door industry. If you're serious about your door-to-door career, hop on the course, use code Maser20, and I'll be seeing you soon on the course. Number one sales call in the world. Jack Maser. So I'm going to have this sent over to you. But real quick, I'll just have you sign right there saying I went over that with you in that white box. That's gonna go directly to your email. We're just gonna put the card on file to reserve the appointment. We'll charge it tomorrow. For that first one, do you wanna do debit or credit?
I don't have either of my cards with me, and it would have to be on Kathy's credit card.
But let's just do card if you wanna go grab that from mom. Basically tell her— Yeah, well, and I'll have her come on out too, 'cause I'd like to meet her. You know what I mean? No, for real.
I'm not so sure about that. She can barely get around.
Yeah. Do you want me to come say hi then? It's bad. Hey, hey, hey, do me a favor. Talk her into it. You know what I mean? I've been doing pest control for a long time. These guys will sign up. What'd you say?
I can't do it.
Please, please don't say that.
Wait, what happened? Well, she showed me what our bills are and how they're going to be until the spring, and I can't do it till spring.
We must find a way. I'm not, I'm not kidding. He can't, he can't do this. So because I'm in training, I'm going to pull some strings. No, I'm serious, they're in training. I need to be able to help you guys, okay? Everybody's rooting for me right now. She's like, I hope you do it, I hope you do it, I got stung. So we'll get it done for you guys. You You been stung by one of them yet? A bee?
Mm-hmm.
Oh yeah, and, uh, my pants were falling off my butt and it stung me right on my cheek.
Too much information.
Left cheek or right cheek? I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
I wanted to know if what you're doing is legal.
Oh, if it's legal?
Yeah.
I mean, cutting the price. Oh, uh, these guys, if they ever do anything like that, I yell at them. But I'm the boss man. Yeah, don't do it. That's why the flyer guy didn't sign you up last time. But it's all right.
He didn't do the deal.
He didn't do the deal. And then as I told you before, we do a winner one for all the mice and rats, all that stuff. But anyways, I'll have you sign right here. This is your copy. You get to keep. So we got that set up for you here. And then I'm going to go ahead and take a picture of this for my own copy. Hold that pen for me real quick. But hey, pleasure to meet you. She taught me how to do an Irish jig.
Did she? Oh, good God.
Again, jump, kick. Oh, oh. I got it.
Yeah, you got it.
You're awesome.
Thank you. This was one of the— you guys are some of the fun— one of the funnest families I've met. Brother, you're the man. Give me a Michael Jackson move. Let's see it. A spin. Oh dude, what about the hee hee? There you go. Let's go. All right guys, we'll see you later. Okay, we did it. They won, dude. Irish jig, never been done before by anybody. That whole thing was recorded. Maser sales training.
Yeah, haha.
Just got my new guys following me around. I'm their trainer. Hot day, I'll tell you that. Decision that way you do it. Otherwise I don't get paid, Dan. I only get paid to sign you up. Well, I'm not— $99.
20 years from now, you probably sell me, but I'll do it for the next 20 years.
You're the man, dude. Do you have a cold bottle of water I could take on the road?
I do.
Dude, you're the man. Notre Dame fan? Yes, sir. And then help me understand Nike factory store, because I went— I used to work for a sign company, so anytime I took a sign down that I thought was cool, I just brought it home. I got a whole shed full of them. Hello, hello! How y'all doing today?
Good, how are you?
Hot, really sweaty, but I can't complain. So, name's Austin. I'm glad that you didn't have— I didn't have to knock. Name's Austin. I do the—
my office is right here.
Oh, you saw us rolling up. So I do the bugs. So these are the guys, these are my trainees. They get to follow around the old bald guy. I show them how to sell pest control. Okay, as far as pest control goes, it's a must. That's why it's such a big business out here. You need to have some sort of service for like this. Yeah, you're seeing them right here. The spider webs are starting to pop up pretty bad. Oh yeah, and then the stink bugs and the ants get bad out here. Where'd you move from, by the way?
Elkhart.
Okay, so, uh, and I'll be doing discounts on the pricing, so that's not a big concern. But as far as, uh, we're What brought you out here? Was it just a new house, job?
My girlfriend and I moved over here.
Congrats. So, and your name?
Richie.
Richie, pleasure to meet you, man. I hate to make you shake.
You move your phone. I wish I could do it. Great salesperson.
Yeah, you're—
I don't have time to do it today.
You're fine. Well, it takes me 10 seconds.
I know, but I'm not going to do it because I already take care of it myself right now.
If your wife were on board with it, if your wife wanted to do it, would you do it?
It's just right now we got so many bills coming out after the— because we just moved in, so we're just trying to make sure our budget is in where we need it to be.
So let me ask you one question, okay? Hypothetically, like today, there's no way I can do it for free, but let's just say hypothetically, let's say tomorrow we're free, would you do it? I'm just wondering, because that would be like—
I don't want to lock in signing up for other things because I got so much stuff right now. Yeah, I appreciate it.
No, it's okay.
You're doing a great job.
I love my job.
You're doing it. You're a hell of a salesperson. Learn from him.
The bugs are going to get so bad they're going to eat the house. If you come back in like a month, the house won't be here in a month.
Well, you're probably right. That's okay.
We got to spray the house. I get it. Hey, take care, dude. All right. So you can have fun with people too. So like, you see how like I'm incredibly like, oh no, I don't. I don't get told no, but I have fun with it too. And because I have fun with it, it feels more of like a pleasant persistency. As opposed to pushy, sleazy salesman. That makes sense. Cool.
Like, oh, okay.
Well, I would have a good day. You come across as like a sleazy salesman if you're like, let's do this instead, and you don't give any reasons as to why that price exists, or you don't have any fun with it. People are going to be like, this guy, why didn't he give me the best price to begin with in the first place? So there needs to be some sort of like, oh, I can only do it because the trucks are here tomorrow. And you have to stand your ground. If that guy hits me up tomorrow and he's like, hey, I want the discount, I'm like, no, sorry. If somebody gives you, uh, yeah, we're seeing spiders, you need to like latch on to it and you need to like pry on it. You need to make it a bigger deal because the people— the people wake up today hoping to buy pest control from you? No, that needs to become a problem in their lives. It needs to be at the forefront of their mind for them to actually want to make a change. I just finished up a sales training camp for Fox Pest Control out here in South Bend, Indiana, and we're stopping at the Notre Dame football stadium. Just check it out. One of the cool things about door-to-door is, uh, I get to travel the world during this training business, and at every place there's always one thing that I want to go check out. So come check out the stadium with me. Let's go! Oh, there we go. Is this the Rudy Tunnel? So we get to see the grass. That's the little Rudy Tunnel right behind me, what you see in the movies. And this is where all the magic happens. College football is about to start. Best time of the year. Pest control season is coming to a close. Look, that's Touchdown Jesus right there. So everybody's always talked about touchdown, touchdown Jesus, and there he is.
Touchdown!
I felt like the purchase was justified like almost immediately. So Ethan had been giving us a couple of the trainings just like for correlations. We had the Zoom call with Austin Maser and he recommended that we hop on the course. And so I said, hey, let me just give it a shot. And immediately after signing up for the course, that next week I had my best week ever. And then the week after that I had my best week ever. And the week after that I had my best week ever. And now it's rolling into this week. So since hopping on the course, I've had 3 consecutive PR weeks. I think the biggest thing that's helped me do that is 2 things I'd say. So one of the things is a lot of the technical skills. So a lot of the pricing, redirecting, closing, moving the customers. The second thing is a lot of body language and tonality that he does. It's kind of like less taught and more just kind of picked up while watching. There's a lot of like ways that he talks, uses his hands, and the tonality, downtone, stuff like that, that like has a huge effect on how you sell people. So with what the companies are gonna do, it's great training. It's gonna be a lot more like generalized, like your owner is gonna be trying to teach 20 people and it's gonna be a lot more difficult. But with Maser Sales Training, If I'm having issues with like spousal objections, I can go on his training, watch videos on spousal objections, and I can roleplay what he said, and I can, you know, watch it over and over again and see what he's doing that helps him overcome that stuff versus just talking with an owner because Maser has the full videos actually recorded. So you can see everything, not just kind of know what to say or whatever. It really just helps you be better. It's also like a lot of fun too. Like Austin Maser is a really personal guy. Like, I watch his videos and like, I get good laughs while I watch it, and it's just a good time. Like, if someone was considering getting it, I'd say do it. Like, there's nothing better than investing in yourself. Like, if you think of yourself, because as a salesman you are your own company in a way, like I work for myself really. So invest in yourself and believe in yourself and like put the time in and look at the course and you're gonna like get massive results.
