STOP BEING A FAT SALESMAN! Workout and Watch Sales DOUBLE!

Austin Maser and the Lion's Den Brotherhood connect fitness discipline to sales performance, arguing that getting in shape boosts energy, confidence, and client acquisition. The session weaves together faith, mentorship, and core sales tactics like listening and asking powerful questions, with Byron Golden framing profitability as health, relationships, and spiritual well-being combined.

It is our final day of Tampa and we're here at the gym because yesterday we started our training super early, went till super late, had a freaking blast at an Airbnb with all the other Brotherhood clients. And, uh, guys, like, so important to make sure you're healthy and in shape. My business was going really, really well all throughout this year. Then I got called out by Andy. I was like, dude, get a six-pack and we'll talk about this whole YouTube episode, which by the way, we landed. Stay tuned for YouTube episode with Andy and I. We're gonna be knocking doors this year. When I got in shape, I had certain clients that otherwise would have never hit me up for coaching. They hit me up because they saw that I respected myself. You can look at somebody and see the amount of discipline that they have just by how they have their— by how their body is. Like, if somebody is extremely overweight, they probably do not have a lot of discipline when it comes to controlling their urges, and I didn't. And my business blew up. I have way more energy. My marriage is a lot better because my wife actually has a husband who looks attractive now. Before, I was pretty big, chunky, right? Like a lot of you guys, young men who are just getting married, you sold yourself to your wife. You're like, hey, I'm gonna be the best husband ever. Exactly what I told my wife. I'm gonna be the best husband you ever had. We got married, I let my body go, and now I'm getting it back. I'm actually going to be in better shape than I've ever been in my entire life. In the next 4.5 to 5 months, I'll be sub-200 pounds. My peak will hit 185 pounds. It's just, just through discipline, tracking food, walking every single day. So guys, if you're looking for a way to increase your sales, obviously buy my course. Obviously join my roleplay group. Come to one of my workshops. Okay, we have one coming up at the end of the summer. But if you want to accelerate your life more than anything, if there's one takeaway from this conference, It's get your— get like walk with God, right? Like you can believe in God, but walking with him and actually walking the walk is totally different. And then getting yourself in shape and taking care of the one body that you'll ever have in your entire life. My whole thing is join a church, join a gym. Andy's version of that is walk with God, get jacked. So super cool to be able to like roll with these guys. They are our people. At one point I was like, yeah, there's no way I'd ever do anything with those people. Who's like all crazy on social media. And then once you get into the Lion's Den and you see like everything they stand for, it's everything I stand for: family, God, and sales, right? Like, put God first, take care of your family, and just go sell a lot of stuff because sales is like the funnest way to just accelerate your life. So if you're watching this and you want to get into sales or attend an event, hit up Chandler. We get you plugged into a Lion's Den event. He's an incredible dude, literally changed my life because he had the balls to just reach out to me and be like, bro, you should come see what we do. And I was— I didn't really have an open mind back then, but my life has accelerated so much since I started having an open mind and since I started getting in rooms with people that are doing 10,000 times more than what I've ever done in life. So get yourself around people that are elevating you. That's why as a coach, I do not expect you guys to hire me unless I'm pouring back into me. It would be stupid to hire me if I didn't have my own mentors and coaches in my own life. I work directly with Andy and he mentors me in building this coaching business. So I'm learning everything I can from him to be able to pour into you. So reach out to me if you're looking for more like one-on-one intimate coaching. Otherwise, join my course, join my roleplay group. Make sure you've got God in your life and you actually walk with him and then just get freaking jacked.
Give him a warm welcome and I think he's coming from the back of the room or something back there. So I want you guys to give it up for Chad.
Come on up, champ, let's go!
Alright, alright, alright!
This has failed is because there's many brilliant ideas with no idea how to sell. I've seen people with average ideas that really, really know how to sell kill it. I've seen people with brilliant ideas that don't know how to sell fail. And this is why, like, some people say 90% of new businesses fail. I don't think that's a true number. It's probably around 50 or 60%, but a large portion of it is that. Like capital, stuff like this. You don't need money if you know how to sell. If you know how to sell, you're going to convince someone else to give you the money.
Okay? Growth.
Oh, well, you need structure. Yeah, you need all those things, but you need to be able to sell your employees on following the structure, or else the structure doesn't mean anything. So sales is everything, and sales is hard.
If you're listening to this, it means you want to get better at sales. So you've probably heard about this, and if you're not on my course yet, I don't know what you're thinking, but you need to be on my sales training course. I have over 100 live sales of me selling to real people. Guys, if you're struggling and selling right now and you're not on there, you know what you need to do. Get on the course today. It's just $100 a month. You're gonna have access to all the videos of all my trainings where I go all across the country. So hop on there today. I'll see you guys in the course. Let's get back to the video.
I love when Andy said earlier, sales is easy. It is for him. It's not for everybody. But here's why sales is hard. Because we make it so damn complicated.
Okay?
For me, sales comes down to two things. I'm gonna share you those two things and anybody, if they focus on those things, I promise you can sell. What will make somebody lethal in sales?
Listening.
Fact of the matter is almost all salespeople talk too much. Now, what makes you an effective listener is asking the right questions. Effective and good questions. So the way to become a good listener is to put time into practicing with what type of personalities, what type of questions you need to ask. You do that, the person in front of you, whether it's your prospect, an employee, someone you're trying to do a partnership with, a family member, a friend, they're going to tell you everything that you need to do as long as you have the discipline to sit back and listen. It feels good. You ask a deadly question and the people start spitting all this information and you get excited as a salesperson. You're like, oh man, I got to talk again. No, you don't. Shut up. You do not need to. You can let that uncomfortable 5 seconds pass when they're done talking before you talk again. Believe me, you can do it. And all they're going to do is give you information that's going to help you make the buying process, or whatever it is you're negotiating, an enjoyable process. I don't want to be closed, and I don't want to close anybody. I do not want to be a master closer. When I got into sales, I was telling everybody, oh, you're, you're top closer, you're master closer. I do not want to be that. I want to let people buy. I want them to look at me after and be like, you know what? This was the most pleasant experience I've ever had. Well, they're sitting in front of me spending the most amount of money they've ever spent. Then here's the second thing. So that's one, listen, but listening by learning how to ask good questions and really, really putting in a lot of work into that. Then the next one is having the ability to constantly put you in the other person's shoes, not once during the process, I'm talking like 40, 50 times during the process, constantly putting yourself in the other person's shoes. Because what's going to happen is if you're doing that and paying attention, you're going to know exactly what needs to be said. You're going to know when you need to help them make a good decision by putting a little bit of pressure or taking a little bit of pressure off. If you're only paying attention to yourself, you're going to blow your leads, you're going to blow your clients. So this is a very strategic way to always make sure that you keep the right temperature of the conversation, the right speed, and all of these things. So these are two simple things. Can everybody remember those things? It's two things. I promise you that you apply those things heavily into your, your process of selling, it's going to change everything.
Okay, you can change everything in one second. And every day, I, because I do this for a living, I watch people sit I sit at these tables and I watch people build the most craziest businesses, have the biggest transformations, literally like the Bible, turn from Saul to Paul. I watch it in real life right now. I'm going to, I'm going to move back here. So follow me. This is important. All right. What's the number one thing in sales that you have to do? Everybody's going to say something different. No one knows what I'm thinking. The number one thing is in sales, you got to believe in yourself. Am I right? No one in the world— I want everybody to listen to me for a minute. Every single one of you— I have became a multi, multi, multi-millionaire by sales. I'm with my buddies, one guy's like, hey, what do you guys do for a living? He's like, I'm a chiropractor. Oh man, that's so cool.
What do you do?
I'm a doctor. Oh wow, man, you're killing the game. And what are you doing? I sell cars. Everybody looks down on me. I'm like, man, dude, God's preparing me for something big. Listen to me, sales, sales. It's the one thing that I can tell you, I can be broke today, rich tomorrow.
It's sales, it's sales.
That's it. You guys understand this.
Every one of you in here, a lot of you, you have insecurities, right?
Okay, do you think I don't have them? I got them too. They don't serve me though. Insecurities cannot be a part of my life anymore. You can't. Some of you in here, what's the most important thing in the world? A relationship, right? He said you create. Remember Byron Golden? He said we gotta create, right? Can I ask you a question? What's the greatest thing that we can create? A delusional mind. Everybody wants what I have. Listen, if I have a good product— do you guys have good products? Yes or no?
Yes!
Let's see, help people. Yes! It's disrespectful not to sign.
Amen.
It is disrespectful! If I don't close you, I am ruining and screwing you over. That's why when I get locked in with someone, it is done, it is finished, it is settled. Stay in great shape, run close to God, be good to people, never lie, never cheat, never steal, never break our word. Beat up, take care of your family, and then what? Kick it. And I saw those ropes way back there where I would have been. And I didn't understand the value of sitting at this table until something happened. He said, "Anyone here from a big Harry Belafonte school?" A BHAC. Now he had been speaking for 2 days. And I was like, "Grrr." I'm just like, I'm just like, I gotta get out of here. I almost didn't even want to finish the event. I just want to grab that handbook and run out of there and go home and do the work. And then he said, stand up if you got one. It's me and my wife. Remember, if you don't train with your wife, no dispensary life to get big. My wife kind of hits me, and I was like, okay, okay, okay, because I'm an introvert. Just so everybody knows, I was an introvert at this time. You're going to build one of the biggest companies in the world. You're going to do this. You're going to get shredded, ripped, jacked, family, awesome. Fire crazy, you're gonna go viral on social media, you're gonna do all this. There's no evidence. And watch what he does next. I didn't get my way when I was younger, I got my way by forcing my way. He's not gonna allow that. He's not gonna allow that. There's a lot of Americans that sells, it's what makes the world go round. 97% of the world operates on 3% of the salespeople. Salespeople make the world go round. Nothing happens until something gets sold. Companies don't grow until sales get built. Give it up for Byron! Come on, guys!
Give it up for Byron!
Let me hear you say, 'I am.' Give yourselves a hand for being here today. All right, y'all, y'all go ahead and sit down. I am going to share with you today the most valuable lesson I've ever learned in life. Now, when I say the master key to maximum profitability or maximum profit, that— I'm not just talking about money, but I'm also not excluding money. I'm talking about maximizing the profitability of your relationship with your spouse, your relationship with your family. I'm talking about maximizing the profitability of your health. I'm talking about maximizing the possibility of your internal peace. I'm talking about the whole shooting match. So I have to make sure that I am hyper focused on intention, and I ignore distraction and avoid distraction like it's the plague. I have to make sure that I am actively putting energy into making the aspects of my life better, or they are automatically getting worse. Like, for me, I have to make sure that I am working on making my relationship with God better Or it's automatically going to get worse. Say something other than good. God is great. Okay, that's good too. So God is good, God is great. Give me another one. God is— okay, awesome. Love, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, right? All of that. He's all of that. But you know what's really fascinating about God? The first thing that God tells us about God is not that he's good, even though he's good, not that he's great, even though he's great, not that he's omniscient, even though he's omniscient. Not that he's omnipresent, even though he's omnipresent. Not that he is love, even though he's love. None of those things are the first thing God tells us about God. Now, here's why that's important. Because when you meet somebody for the first time, the thing that you tell them about yourself may not be the most important thing about you, but it's the most important thing you believe they need to know about you. Right? Because when you introduce yourself to somebody, based on what the scenario is, You make sure they know the thing that's going to do the relationship between you and them the most good, right?
I can't stop, I can't stop, I can't stop, I can't stop. Thank you.
I lasted through the disruption that followed my intention. And I proved that energy— I mean, that entropy and distraction are no match for a person who's willing to stake everything on energy and intention.
I said I will be your number one testimonial that comes out of the Elliott Group. The number one. I didn't want to be number two. I didn't want to be number three. I wanted to be number one. But my journey didn't start here. It started in the, in the dope house. How many of you have prayed? Prayed, show me a sign, God. How many of you have prayed that prayer? Almost every hand should go up. If not, you're lying to yourself. Show me a sign. Like, I couldn't work anywhere, and when I saw that piece of paper hanging on the door, I called them up and I said, hey, check it out, there's a piece of paper. I'm looking at it right now. It said you guys are looking for telemarketers, you're paying $15 an hour. And they said yes. I said, cool, let me tell you who's about to come in for an interview because I was sick of being denied. And I said, I'm living in a halfway house. I said, I do not have a license. I got about 90 days clean. I'm broke. And I'm hungry. And they said, you're just the person we're looking for. You're just the person we're looking for. And I ended up going on to be their number one person. Number one, not number two, number one. Very first company that I ever started with my wife. We started a company in the timeshare exit space. One out of 8, how many people own a timeshare in here? There are absolutely people lying in this room, it's okay. If I had a dry eraser marker and I went to go spell entrepreneur right here, I guarantee you I would mess the word up. Very first business we ever started, started in a bedroom. We built it in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We had over 150 W-2 employees doing $34 million a year, netting $12 million a year. Netting $12 million a year. And in 2019, we were getting ready to exit that company. We had an evaluation on that company for 100% of it for $147 million to $92 million. Holy smokes, how does a dude like me do something like that?
The most important thing that you can do, for those of you that are standing, is to get plugged in. Don't walk away from here. I will stay here as long as you need me to stay here. I will shake your hand. I will hug your neck. I will get to know you. I will stay here if I have to. If Tommy and I have to stay till his church starts tomorrow morning, we will stay here. And we got people with us, and Andy's— you've got freaking 9,000 men and women of God. They'll stand with you too. I want you guys to look at them one more time. This is what strength looks like. This is what strength looks like. This right here is what strength looks like.
For those of you that are standing, you can be seated.
Thank you so much. We're so proud of you guys. I want to pray one more prayer. I want to pray one more prayer. So would you close your eyes with me? One more prayer. You say, Pastor Travis, I'm here, and man, I am struggling so bad. There's a part of my life that's just absolutely falling apart. Maybe your family's falling apart. Maybe your marriage is falling apart. Maybe nobody even knows. Maybe there's an addiction and it's just kicking your butt, man. It's just kicking your butt. You say, man, I'm struggling, man. When David said in Psalm 23, 'Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.' Man, I'm in the valley of the shadow of death, PT. I've been in the valley. Maybe you're here today and nobody even knows your struggle. Maybe your own spouse doesn't know your struggle. I want to give you good news. God knows. Jesus knows and he sees it. He's well aware of it. If you say, man, I've been going through freaking hell, man, I've been going through it, I've been getting hit from every which way, man, the devil has been relentless, I've been just getting beat to mess up. And you want to be prayed for, would you just raise your hand and I'll pray for you? I'm not going to make you stand or anything, but just raise your hand. I'll pray for you. Jesus, I pray for every hand, God, every hand that represents a heart that represents some hell that we're going through. And God, we're so grateful that your grace is sufficient. That's what scripture says, your grace is sufficient. Oh Jesus, thank you. That your grace is sufficient. Thank you that even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, scripture says we shall fear no evil because you are with me. Some of you today, man, your life didn't turn out like you hope. Your marriage, your family didn't turn— this addiction wasn't— you never saw it coming, man, but it's— man, it got you. Because addiction doesn't care. It doesn't care how you're raised, where you're raised, poverty, wealth. Addiction does not care. It's there to destroy your life. Man, it didn't turn out as I hoped. And then the Bible says that the potter takes the clay and he smashes it and he breaks it and he rebuilds it into a beautiful vase. That's what God wants to do with you, friend. He wants to rebuild you. Sometimes he's got to break you to remake you, man. He wants to rebuild you. I pray for addictions to be broken. I pray for addictions to be broken. I pray right now supernaturally in the power and the name of Jesus Christ for addictions to be broken once and for all. Devil, you have no place in our space. This is the child of the Most High God, a temple of the Holy Spirit. I pray against depression. I pray against depression, and I pray that you be our joy, unspeakable and full of glory. I pray against fear and anxiety, God, that you be our calm, that you be our peace in the middle of these storms, God. Lord, I pray for marriages today. I've seen you raise marriages back from the dead, and I pray that you do it again here tonight, God. Raise marriages back from the dead, God. I pray for our children. Maybe they're going astray, maybe they're prodigals, maybe they're lost and on a wild wilderness journey, God. Would you ever so lovingly Divinely interrupt them. Oh Jesus. And I pray for anybody that needs a physical touch, a healing. He is our great healer. He is our great healer. So God, I pray for healing. God, I pray the same thing that you did in me is the same thing you do for them.
But I promise you, none of this happens without the team. It doesn't, it doesn't exist. By the way, our team is better than us.
So if anybody wants to talk to me, probably smarter to talk to someone on my team.
They're better.
Hey, we love you guys.
When you get out of here, go Psycho! I saw the Lord, and he heard, and he answered. I saw the Lord, and he heard, and he answered.
