A sales trainer tells door-to-door salespeople to stop leaving their route. Use portable toilets, ask customers for water or bathroom access, skip gas station trips. More time at doors means more contacts and more sales.

Stop wasting time on the doors. If you've got to go to the bathroom, find a porta-potty and simply just use the porta-potty. Everything you need is behind a door. If you need a snack, ask a person at their home for a banana or granola bar. If you need a restroom, find a porta-potty or go into someone's home. If you need a bottle of water, don't go to the gas station, just ask a customer for a bottle of water. Point is this: more time on doors, less time at the gas station wasting time. You're going to sell more if you do this.
