Matt Fitzgerald explains why runners should cross-train on equipment that mimics running's leg motion without impact. The ElliptiGO 8S does this, and elite runners like Alephine Tulyamuk and Molly Seidel use it at DreamRun Camp. DreamRun participants get 10% off.

As an often injured runner, I've done my share of cross-training over the years, and as a coach and author of more than two dozen books for runners, I know a thing or two about the science of cross-training. The ideal cross-training modality for runners is one that closely simulates the independent leg movements of running but without the impact, and in my opinion, there's no better cross-training modality than the ElliptiGO elliptical bike. DreamRun Camp is outfitted with 2 of these beautiful ElliptiGO 8Ss. They can be used indoors, as this one is set up to do, and also outdoors. And I will say, physiology notwithstanding, cross-training should also be fun, because the more you enjoy it, the more you'll invest in it, and the more you'll get out of it. And riding an ElliptiGO outdoors especially is a heck of a lot of fun. Now, if you ride one of these ElliptiGOs outdoors in Flagstaff while you're at DreamRun Camp, don't be surprised if you cross by a top professional runner such as Alephine Tulyamuk or Molly Seidel also riding an ElliptiGO, because word has gotten out among the pros. As the official cross-training partner of DreamRun Camp, ElliptiGO has made a special coupon available for a 10% discount off all ElliptiGO products.
