Ep2: Number 1 Reason Why PT's Stay Broke

Personal trainers stay broke because they skip growth tasks like sales calls and booking consultations. Dedicate two hours weekly to these activities, aim for 10 consultations booked, and watch your session count climb to 250 per week.
Welcome to another podcast episode, everyone. Episode number two. We are going to talk about the number one thing that keeps PT broke. So number one thing I'm gonna narrow down to one thing that keeps PT broke over the. Like, I've been mentoring pts for probably just about a year now and I've discovered it's. It's nothing. It's. It's not a. Nothing advanced or anything like that. It's actually super, super simple as the reason why PT stay broke or are broke. You might think it's marketing or sales or like they might, they might not do a certain marketing strategy or they might not do a certain objection handle or anything like that. It's not anything like that. So I want, I want to pre frame here. The thing that I'm going to talk about is correct. However, if you don't have the right marketing and sales skills, then it's kind of irrelevant. So this is the number one thing. Are we ready? They don't focus on growth tasks every week. They don't focus on growth tasks every week. So let's dive into that. What is growth tasks? Growth tasks are tasks that propelled the business forward with cash flow. I. E. Making sales calls to book in cost consultations, doing consultations to get new clients, posting on social media to generate more leads. Getting more leads from the club, asking, asking the club manager for the new member leads, for example. Or people that have birthdays this month so you could give them a call and give them a gift. People don't make it a priority or pts don't make it a priority to get this done every single week without fail. The one of the reasons why I was able to grow from 0 to 250 sessions per week in under two years was every single week without fail, I was making sales calls to book in 10 consultations minimum for the following week. I've got my business tracker that I've still got from all those years ago where you can literally see the progress happening and it's only because I was doing growth tasks every single week. That was my highest priority for a lot of PS at the moment. And I'm. And they wonder why they're not growing. They're not doing sales scores every week or they're not. They don't have any consultations booked in every week. So how do they expect to get new clients when there's no consultations booked in? How do they expect to get consultations booked in? But they're not making the phone calls required to book in consultations? Why they. Or why don't they have the phone numbers for people to call when they're not asking the club manager for the report or why they're not, why they're not posting on social media to generate leads, why they're not doing any call to action posts on social media. You don't have to do all those things. I'm just saying the growth tasks come from booking people in for sales calls, discovery calls, whatever you call them, health assessments, consultations, free PT sessions, whatever you want to call them, people. If, if you're not doing that every single week, then more than likely it's the reason why you're staying in the same spot and not growing your business. Simple as that. And by the way, team with the leads. Leads are never an issue. You've got a lead problem, you need to send me a message right now because if you're in, if you're in like, especially for face to face PCs, face to face PCs in commercial facilities, Snap Fitness Jets, World Gym, Good Life, Anytime Fitness, all those type of clubs. If you're struggling with leads, then you need to message me right now and I'll give you some free training on how to get leads. And by the way, I'll give you a bit, bit more extra value here. The club manager should be able to send you all the new members that have joined the club for the month to offer them something for free. Consult, health assessment, whatever to get them started in the gym. Most of the time they don't know what they're doing, they've got no idea what they're doing. It's going to be a better experience for the member to be connected with the pp, not so much to sign up for their services straight away, but to have a point of contact if and when they do need help. They have someone that they like and trust that they know in the club that is going to help retention for the club way more than what the club is doing currently. All about the member experience. I'll touch on that on a different episode, but as I said for this one, the main reason people stay broke is because they're not focusing on growth tasks, which helps them grow their business, which helps them make more money. You don't have cash flow in the business, your business is failing and it's going backwards. Cash flow is king. Any cash flow in the business and get more clients. So short episode today. So if you haven't already, make sure what I would do, I would. I used to schedule in every single week for two hours to make sales calls or phone calls. The prospects to book into my calendar for the following week. It was the last thing I did every single week Saturday from 11 to 1 sales calls until I got 10. I didn't get 10. I just kept calling people until I got 10 booked in. If it only took me an hour to get 10, then sweet, I'll finish an hour early. But otherwise that's my last thing. Once I knew I had 10 consults booked in for the following week, I knew I was going to get four or five new clients next week, no questions asked. So I had the consults booked in. Gives me peace of mind going into next week that I'm prepared. Otherwise you're playing. You're pedaling backwards. The difference between it's all in preparation, really. Preparing for the following week. Prepare your week in advance. Oh, so if you get the Monday, you're recovering still from the weekend, you got no consults booked in. We try and call people on Monday to book them in and they're at work, they're busy, they don't want to talk to you because it's Monday. No one likes Monday. I recommend giving people calling people on Saturdays between 11 and 1. 11am to 1pm is generally the best time to call people. That needs to get done every single week without fail. That's it then. Enjoy that. Make sure you schedule that into your calendar and watch your business grow. So like and subscribe if you haven't already. If you if you like this episode, share it with a friend and let me know how you get on.
