Short motivational guidance (January 2025) recommending a 12-month financial goal for business growth, using backwards planning: set a 12-month recurring-income target, derive mid-year and 3-month milestones, focus on achievable interim income increases (example: $2,000/week → $1,000/week at 6 months → $500/week at 3 months), and reassess every three months to double down or adjust.
This is my recommendation on how you should set goals going into 2025. The first thing, set yourself a long term 12 month goal that's going to set you up for success for the years to come. For example, it might be to get to $2,000 per week in recurring income. Then what you're going to do is you're going to reverse engineer what you need to do at month six and month three to achieve that goal. For example, if you're starting at zero, let's say you want to get to 2k per week. If in 12 months. So let's say at the halfway point of the year, you need to be at $1,000 per week in recurring income. And we break that down again, you need to have that again. So in month three, you need to be at $500 per week in recurring income. So all of a sudden it seems achievable. So what you really want to do is just focus on getting $500 per week or even adding an additional $500 per week in three months. And then you reevaluate where you're at after three months and then either double down on what's working well or readjust things that aren't working very well.
