What I want to talk about today is overvaluing home runs. Too often in life we have bought into the mindset that in order to be successful we have to do something miraculous on one particular day. If we want to find the love of our lives we have to go out there and do one really solid approach on someone that we find attractive and that person has to fall for us instantly and we exchange numbers and we go on a great set of dates and that person becomes the person we spend the rest of our life with. If it's in business we have one great idea and that's the idea that makes us a multi-millionaire because everyone wants what we have in our minds and we create it and all of a sudden we are an instant success. That idea is one of the most destructive ideas for our success because the home run, very often it brings, if it comes, it brings a level of success that you're not ready for. You know, sometimes that's in a relationship. You all of a sudden meet the amazing person but you're not ready. You find a way to sabotage it. You don't feel secure in yourself yet. In business, sometimes you get a home run all of a sudden you get a thousand new customers you weren't ready for 'cause you don't have the systems and you haven't had the organization to be able to deal with that kind of thing. And so you're just not ready. There are many times in life where having a home run would be a very bad thing. But having to build organically to a place where you get a win that's sustainable, that's much more exciting. Or let's face it, getting a win every week or every month from something you're doing. And it's the same way in business, it's the same way in love, it's the same way with our bodies. It is consistent action, frequency and consistency that guarantees success and sustainable success. Sustainable success comes from what we do every day, not from some opportunity that someone handed us that just happened to be a lottery ticket. Because guess what? A lottery ticket is great for winning a few million bucks, but you don't know how to replicate the result. You can't do it again. You can't win the lottery again next week. So I would rather tear up the lottery ticket and say, give me the thing I can control. Maybe the success is more modest at first. Maybe at takes me much longer. But guess what? When I get it, I'll know that I did it. I'll know that it's something I can replicate if I lose it. I can do it all again. And it's something that I'll have the learning from and the experience from instead of being handed a win that I wasn't ready for. That, to me, is the game of life. We have to stop looking for the home runs. We completely overvalue the home run instead of valuing the inches, valuing the extra ground that we make up every single day. Now for those of you that want this consistent progress, I have something that I believe will give it to you. We are just this week launching our brand new podcast called Love Life, which is now available internationally. It's gonna be there for everybody in the world and it's completely complimentary. Some episodes I have live callers where they call in and I discuss their issues and I coach them through it. Many of them will have the same issues that you have. Others are me just going on a rant about something I think is really important for our lives some of them are very practical action plans for things you need to do that day. Most importantly, this is a 360 degree approach to enhancing and improving your life on a daily basis. Like I said, stop valuing the home runs. That's not where real success is at. Real success, the most successful people in the world, are the ones that build every single day, frequently, and consistently. So to get it, go to iTunes, type in Matthew Hussey in the search bar, and then when you get there, click Love Life, which is the name of the podcast. Not only download the first episode, but subscribe to the show so that you get all of the future episodes as well. We are gonna make this thing so cool. Every week, three times a week, you're gonna get these bite-sized episodes that you can listen to when you're in your car, going for a bike ride, when you're at home cleaning up the house, or whenever. So I'll see you there. Enjoy it the first couple of.
