Matthew AI argues that lingering tasks create a stressful feeling in your stomach and erode confidence. The fix: start one thing right now, no matter how small. You don't need perfection, just action and the feeling of checking it off.

This is the whole point of the video. It doesn't need to be perfect. Let's just start. We're making a video now, and it's a. We're slightly unprepared. It's fine. The whole point of this video is to get you to do something. Now, there are things on your to do list right now that have been sitting there for a while. And every time you look at that task, you get this feeling in your stomach, which is a mixture between stress, stress that comes from not having done something that you want to do, knowing that it's on that list for a reason. It's not there for no reason at all, but there's something that's holding you back from doing it and that feeling of not liking yourself, because this is something that you can't seem to overcome. Now, it may not even be a big task. It might be the tiniest little task that wouldn't even take that long if you got down to it. But something is stopping you from doing it. And by the way, the small tasks, they're often the ones that get you the most. They're the biggest demoralizers because the fact that you can't get yourself to do that becomes this splinter in your mind, this thing that stops you from doing a whole raft of other things. Because make no mistake, seeing something on your to do list again and again and again, never leaving that to do list affects your confidence over time. It erodes that feeling of faith that you have in yourself that you can actually get things done. Here's my challenge to you. Do it. Do it today while you're watching this video. I'm not going to make this a long video. I'm going to keep this short because I want you to get on with it. What do you need for the task? Do you need a pen? Go find a pen. Go do it while I'm talking. Right now. You need a piece of paper. Go find some paper. Don't look for the perfect piece of paper. Just get a piece of paper. The back of an envelope will do. Start writing. You could write the beginning of a novel on the back of an envelope. When you need more paper, you know you're doing something right because at least you've started. Get moving on it. Who do you need to call? Do you need your phone? Pick up your phone, dial the number. Who is it you need to speak to? What conversation have you been putting off? Which place have you been putting off going? Where do you need to go? Get in the car and start moving. This doesn't have to be something that takes 10 hours right now. That takes your whole day. Make it something that takes 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes. Don't put it off a second longer. I know the reasons you put it off. You put it off because it feels uncomfortable. You put it off because it's been so long, you don't even know how to do that task anymore. You put it off just because you got mental block, because you've been putting it off so long that now it has almost this mystical sense of difficulty, even though it's actually quite easy once you get down to it. But you've left it so long, it's been built up in your head. Maybe it's just a f ing annoying job to do. I don't care. Whatever it is, you're gonna do it right now. The purpose of this video is to reduce your stress because once you knock something off your list like that, it becomes this signifier for everything else on your list. When you can do that one thing that you've been putting off, everything else seems easier. And you will like yourself more. You will have more confidence because you'll show that you can get something done, that you do have the ability to muscle a task and get through it, and you'll like yourself more at the end of this day. This day will have had some meaning. You will feel good. I will take part of the credit for setting you on this path. You can take the rest for doing it. How's that as a deal? Let's just do it. Go now. Switch off the video. I'm ending now, so there's nothing else to watch. This is just fluff now. I'm just talking. I'm not going anywhere with this point. Now just do it. Switch off the video. If you're still watching this now, you're already on the wrong track. I'm going to stop right now. Jameson, you ready? And end. Hi, I'm Matthew Hussey. If you watched the video and do something productive, come back and leave a comment after you've done the f ing task. Now go. Do you want to know something funny? Is normally when we shoot a video like this, we wouldn't have the mic so close to me. The air conditioner, which is kind of whirring in the background, would be turned off. The light above my head, which is giving us really bad lighting right now, would have been fixed. But I said to Jameson, let's just start. Stop being such a perfectionist. Let's just for one day just get this shit done. Stop worrying about it. Let's get it done. I'm only asking you to do the same.
