The 3 Compliments Guys Never Get Tired Of Hearing (Matthew Hussey, Get The Guy)

Matthew Hussey breaks down three compliments men respond to: "You're such a guy" affirms his masculinity, "I feel really safe around you" validates his protector role, and "I feel bad for other women that I get to be with you" makes him feel rare. Balance praise with occasional mild criticism to keep him interested without breeding overconfidence.

Hello everyone, it's Matthew Hussie here. Today we're gonna be talking about the three compliments that guys never get tired of hearing. So let's launch right in. The first compliment you can give a guy, this is gonna seem interesting because it's not even gonna sound like a compliment. You say to something that he does, you,'re such a guy. Anytime you say to a guy, you,'re such a guy, he goes, oh, you're right, I am aren't I? I really am. Really, you can tell that I'm a member of the male species. He likes that because he never, he doesn't want to be associated with not being a guy and he doesn't think of it in terms of, well, then I'm like billions of other people. He just thinks, I like being manly. So you're such a guy. The next time he does something that feels like something a guy would do, just say casually, you're such a guy. You can kind of even roll your eyes a little bit as well, like you're that disapproving woman. It's all good. It's going to make him feel really good about himself. The next one, you say, I feel really safe around you. I like that. I feel really safe around you. Again, this is going to be a compliment that plays to his masculinity, but in a more serious way. Now he feels like someone who can protect you. He feels strong around you. By the way, the benefits of this are twofold. Firstly, he's going to like you more because he's going to feel like a man around you. Any time a man meets a woman who makes him feel more of a man, he wants to be around that woman more. Because guess what? Not every woman makes a guy feel like he's manly. The other thing is if you validate him for making you feel safe, what is he going to want to do more? He's going to want to make you feel safe. He's going to look for opportunities to make you feel safe as a woman. The third one, you say, you are so great, I feel bad for other women that I got you. I feel bad for, I feel bad for all the other women in here that I get to spend this time with you. When you say that, immediately he feels like the most special guy in the room. He feels so important. And by the way, I know as I'm saying this, there are gonna be some women listening to this rolling their eyes. Oh, what? Like, I have to say to him that I feel bad for other women that I got him. Well, he should feel bad for other men that he got me. Blah, blah, blah. They get very, very defensive. And what I'd say to you is, Those usually are the same women who say, well, I don't like to build men up too much because as soon as you build them up too much, they get confident and they leave you. Women, I hear women say this, right? They're gonna leave me if they get too confident. Oh, my last boyfriend, I made him feel great about himself. He was an insecure wreck when he came to me and I made him feel so great, I made him feel so sexy, and then he left me for someone else because he had all this confidence. Well, think about that for a moment as a way to live. The philosophy therefore is just make sure someone doesn't feel too good around you. Keep them lukewarm. Don't make them feel terrible but don't make them feel too good. So give them a nice healthy mix of compliments and knockdowns. It's a ridiculous way to be. If you're with someone, make them feel amazing around you. I guarantee you it's a better strategy for keeping someone around than keeping them insecure around you. So those are the three compliments. You're such a guy. I love that you make me feel so safe and I feel bad for other women that I got you or that I get to be around you. Enjoy. Go make someone feel special. I'll see you soon.
