In this monologue, Matthew AI examines the shifting landscape of chivalry amid modern gender dynamics. He notes that women have gained economic power and often serve as primary breadwinners, leaving many men uncertain about traditional expectations such as paying for dates or opening doors. He argues that both sexes contribute to a decline in manners, but each can take concrete steps to restore respectful behavior. For women, he urges them to stop blanket complaints about men, to set clear personal standards, and to communicate those expectations directly to the men they choose to keep in their lives. For men, he stresses that courteous actions—paying the bill, opening doors, offering seats—should stem from genuine care for women rather than societal pressure or a desire to appear “cool.” He calls on fathers to model respectful behavior toward mothers, and on mothers to teach their sons what they expect from women, rejecting the “boys will be boys” excuse. Ultimately, Matthew AI frames chivalry as a personal, purpose‑driven choice rooted in respect for all women, encouraging both genders to rise above average societal norms.

Is chivalry dead? Well, it kind of feels that way sometimes, especially to women, because they deal with a lot of guys who are not acting the way they want them to act. But I also understand that for guys, this is an extremely confusing area. Women, you became pretty damn powerful recently. And by recently I mean over the last few decades. I'm not an expert on women's rights, and there are people that could school me on women's rights and feminism. But what I do know is women have made great strides. In fact, in most households, you're the primary breadwinner. So guys are sitting there thinking, well, what do I do now? There are all these double standards on the surface. Men are looking at women saying, this woman makes as much money, if not more than me. And when we go on a date, I still feel the pressure to pay. Other men are saying, well, women don't want me to patronize them. But there are women who still expect me to give up my seat on a train. I'm expected to treat this woman the same in the workplace, but still hold the door open for her. Men are trying to figure this one out. And women are complaining that men haven't figured it out because they still want men to be men. Amidst all of these changes, I want to simplify it today so that we all know how to navigate our way through, through this area that is chivalry. Women, I want to talk to you first. I want you to stop complaining about men en masse not being chivalrous. Tons of guys out there are just dicks. But by the way, that's also a people problem. It's not just guys, it's women too. You know how many women that you stand an extra 2 seconds to open the door for and they just walk through and don't even say thank you. There are people out there everywhere who have no manners, who are not polite. And for sure there are a huge number of men out there who are not chivalrous. But the only thing you have to focus on as a woman is not complaining about society in general. It's demanding a certain standard from the men that you choose to keep in your life and spend time with. If you want a guy to go and open the car door for you because that's important to you, you have to communicate it to that guy. Does it matter that he didn't come pre made to do that? Not as much as it matters that he cares enough to do it for you. Now that you've shown it matters, men start acting right. Stop using excuses about Society and how we've changed and things are different now. And you don't have to do all those things for women. No, you're a dick. Be good to women. Stop doing it because you think you should do it or you have to do it. Do it because you care for those guys out there who sit there going, like, they're too cool to do that stuff. Oh, I'm so laid back. I don't do that stuff for women. I'm not that type of guy. I let other guys do that. You're a dick. Act right. If you would do it for your mother, do it for every woman. And if you wouldn't do it for your mother, then you need to learn. You need to figure that out and start treating the women in your life right. Dads, teach your sons to act right. They're gonna learn from you more than anyone else. You're the hero in their lives. You're the main male figure. And don't just tell them to act right around women. Don't just tell them they should buy them flowers or take them out or open the car door. Show them by the way you treat their mother. Mums, show your sons what you expect as a woman. You are his first real relationship with a woman. So the standards that you expect from him are going to be something that are going to color his experiences with everyone else. I'm sick and tired of seeing these moms who look at their sons and when they do something boyish or obnoxious, they roll their eyes and they go, well, boys will be boys. No, that boy is going to be a man at some point and the woman in his life is going to pay the price for your shitty stand. So instead, step up and demand the kind of chivalry that you'd expect from any other man in your life. Don't turn him into your little prince. Turn him into your bodyguard. Men, I'm gonna finish by addressing you because really, this is about us. We're being told left, right and center what we should do, what we have to do, what is the right thing to do. I want to depart from that for a moment and say everything we do in life has to come from a core. Why? Because if we're told to do something, that's never going to sustain us long term. But if we have a driving why for doing something that's going to make us want to do it. And let me give you the why. You love women. You care about them. You think they are the most precious creatures on earth and you would do anything for them because you want them to feel safe, you want them to feel comfortable, you want them to feel happy, and you want to be that man that doesn't fit the societal norm for today. Or who gives a about the societal norm for today and how men and women are today. Let's be better than society. Let's be better than the average. You're not opening that car door for one woman. You're not paying that bill for one woman. You're not going out of your way to give her your seat or to let her through the door first or to walk on the car side of the street for one woman. You're doing it out of respect for all women. Take care, guys. I will see you soon.
