Today I want to talk about the myth of intimidating women. And by the way, if you're already cracking your knuckles, getting ready to write an angry comment to me right now, this video is probably for you. Maybe there are a percentage of men out there who, no matter what, will be intimidated by a woman. Those men seek people who think they're a piece of shit because he thinks he's a piece of shit and it makes him feel okay by being with her. But for everyone else, I don't buy that anytime a woman has a good job and great friends and lots going on and is good at stuff, that men go on a date and go, I don't want to see her again. She's just too intimidating. When a guy says you're intimidating, I think it's far more likely that either, a, he was bored and he doesn't have the heart to tell you that it was just a boring date. Maybe it was boring because you just talked about the one area of your life that you feel validated by. For example, your career. You went on and on and on about that one area. Or it could be, B, you felt like there was no space for him in your life, that you're so busy and you have so much going on that actually if he was with you, there wouldn't be any time left for him anyway. Or C, he never feels like he's actually impressing you. When he talks about the trip he did to Buenos Aires this year, instead of being excited and stopping for a moment to ask him questions about it, you jump straight to how extensively you've traveled in South America. Look, let's remove this from men and women for a moment and just make it about people. Human beings want to connect with other human beings and they want to feel special. When we're on a date, if we want to connect and make someone else feel special, we actually have to give them the opportunity to shine. We have to be secure enough to take the focus off of us and put it on them, allow them to be important. The most insecure people are the ones that can't stop ranting about themselves and their achievements and everything that's great in their life. They're hiding something with all of that, that they don't feel enough. Remember, someone isn't going to see you again because of what you've achieved. Someone's going to see you again because of the way you made them feel. So if you make them feel great around you, you won't have a problem with anyone saying you're too intimidating. Thank you for watching. I'll see you next week.
