Matthew Hussey explains why men say they only want to be friends: you're acting like a male friend without flirtation or sexual energy. Instead of confronting him, gradually introduce a flirtatious side he hasn't seen, and he may start viewing you romantically.

Hi, I'm Matthew Hussey from Get the Guy. So what does it mean when a guy says he just wants to be friends? Well, firstly, we know that it means somewhere along the way you found yourself in the dreaded friend zone. And that's a place that no one wants to be. No man or woman wants to be just someone's friend when they're attracted to them. Now, the key is this. It doesn't mean it's game over, but it does mean something has to change. Now, when a guy starts to see you as a friend, what it means is something in your behavior has meant he's not seeing you in that sexual way that maybe he sees this person over here. So firstly, it's just a zone. You can get out of it. A guy can change his mind like that, it doesn't matter. But the behavior patterns have to start changing. So look at what you've been doing so far. Maybe you've been his relationship counsellor for every other relationship he's had. So he comes to you with his problems, but he doesn't see you as a potential. Or maybe you've just been acting like one of his guy friends. Instead of acting like a woman around him, a flirtatious, sexual woman, he's started to see you as one of his male friends. Maybe it's just a jokey personality that you have around him instead of that spark. Or maybe it's just gotten to the point where things have kind of staled and you're not breaking out of your shell around him. Whatever happens, that's what has to start changing. So what I want you to try doing, firstly, if he said he just wants to be friends, don't panic. Relax. It's going to be fine. You can still change it. But you have to do it from a casual place, not from a place where you're trying to make it work and you're trying to change things. So don't confront him about it. Just as you start to see him over the next few days or weeks, start to change some of those behaviors, throw in parts of you that he maybe hasn't seen before, Let him see you in a different light. Let him see that sexual, flirty side of you and see how it starts to change his mind, what will happen is, if you do it right, he'll start to sell himself on the idea that he actually likes you as more than a friend. And then you'll find that he starts to change his behaviors. So let me know how you get on with that. Go to gettheguy.co.uk for more information. And I can't wait to see you soon. Take care.
