Start early, finish early

Matt Ragland wakes at 4:30 AM to run and hike with his dog Abby at Percy Warner Park, then works nine hours and still has his day ahead. He argues starting early compounds into real productivity and suggests small weekend adventures like a new restaurant or park visit.

Hey, what's up everyone? Matt. Hope you're doing well. Out here at Percy Warner Park and enjoying a nice day. So the last 2, 3 days, kind of lost track, I've gotten up at 4:30. I don't say that to brag, and I am quite proud of it, but what the reason that I bring it up is because it's 4 o'clock and or a little after 4 o'clock, and I'm here at the park with my dog. Say hi, Abby. Oh, she's a fine dog. And we're out for a little run/hike. And, you know, it gets dark really early here in Nashville during the winter, so it's great that I can get up and do this early. Because I've done my time for the day. There's still some things to do, but it's easy to take this break, and I feel good about it. I don't feel like, "Oh, I've only worked like 5 or 6 hours, like half-day-ish," and like I still got a ton more to do tonight. I've already worked 9 hours, or close to it, and I just have a little bit of stuff to wrap up, and I'm here up on the trail, beautiful day, and can do this. I'm actually on the bike path. I don't know if I'm supposed to be here. Let me show you a little bit about what it's like. Hope I don't fall, nor do I drop the phone. Here we go. Go girl, go, go, go! See, isn't that fun? I get to do that. Right there. It's awesome. So, uh, this weekend I hope you get to do something awesome and something that you enjoy. It was just a little mini adventure like this one. I'm out of breath. Thanks for watching. If you end up watching this, leave a comment and let me know— leave a comment and let me know something interesting, something fun you're doing this weekend. And if you can't think of anything, just go to the park, make, you know, make something happen. Go to a new restaurant you haven't been to. New area of town, drink coffee— drink tea instead of coffee. Don't do that unless you like tea. Alright, I'm out of breath, and I'm gonna keep running without the risk of dropping my phone. Everyone have a great weekend. Next week I'm gonna be going live pretty much every single day from the ConvertKit retreat in Oceanside, California, so turn your live notifications on. If you want to know when that happens. Alright, take care. Bye.
