Each episode will blend real life coaching, grounded tools and intuitive insight to help you trust yourself more, lead with your energy and take your next aligned step now. Now let's find your clarity and the life that's been waiting for you on the other side. Welcome back my friend. Today we have the beautiful Sarah Jennifer on the show. She's the founder of Soulbright Studio and my incredible website designer who helped me with a huge rebrand on my website and my entire online presence really, which to me was so much more than a rebrand because this was the season that I changed my name getting married, which was a huge, energetic decision. It wasn't just like, okay, this is what we do. There was a lot of thought, a lot of intention that went behind it and then with that, because I have a personal brand as my business, my business kind of followed. And again that just took a lot of settling in and intention and energy work behind it all before ultimately making that decision. And so I wanted to find the quote, right person to hold it, right person being the right person for me, not that there is a exact right person out there. And enter Sarah. And we talk about how Sarah came into my life in the podcast episode which was such a magical experience. And of course we talk about branding and things you can do as a personal brand and a business owner to support your brand. But I think this conversation is so much more than that because especially if you have a personal brand, your business interweaves pieces of you and to rebrand or to just start your brand. Either way, those pieces of you come with you and and it makes you think about what you identify with and who you are and how you show up. And so there's so much that can be unlocked in this episode. A little bit more Sarah. Sarah is a color obsessed brand and website designer. She helps coaches and wellness entrepreneurs craft vibrant solar line brands that shine with clarity, spark connection and effortlessly attract to dream clients. Sarah is also a manifesting generator and such a testament of living in alignment with your design without even knowing what your design is. I love when I meet people like this where we look at their design and it's just like oh my gosh, this is so you. Manifesting generators are known for Their multi passionateness. Right. Of just like holding as many yeses as they can all at once. And so while Sarah is this incredible designer who truly does, as someone who worked with her, pull the essence out of your work and brings your unice through, which we do talk about a little bit in the episode today, she also has these other projects which is like, so in line with the manifesting generator spirit. She has an incredible podcast. I was a guest on that. I'll make sure to link it in the show notes where she talks about wellness and holistic practices. And she has a offering that's breath work for your brand. And it's just that pure passion that you can feel. And everything that she does, she has a passion for aerial yoga, which we talk about in the episode. It's just that spark is so alive and she's so in tune with it and it's so magical to be in the energy of that. As someone who feels like they operate a little bit different in the way that they hold their multi passionate yeses, there's something so special about hearing the way Sarah holds her pivots and her stories and the different directions that life has pulled her into without any force or pressure. And so not only are we unlocking some brand magic for you, but also unlocking the power and the permission to say yes to life as life says yes to you. So enjoy. And as always, I would love to hear from you after the episode. Yay. Okay. Hi, welcome. Sarah. I'm so excited to have you here today.
Hello. Thank you for having me.
Yeah, I'm. I have actually been teasing this conversation already because we're going to talk a little bit about rebranding, and I just feel like rebranding is so connected to, like, things we go through in our personal life too. Like, just like the pivots we make and like the changes we make in life. And going through a website rebrand with you, it felt like all of the, like, changes and pivots I made in my life were kind of like, amplified in that moment. Like a really interesting process. So I'm just really excited to see where this conversation goes.
Oh, me too.
Before we get into all of that, I feel like you just have, like, such an interesting story of, like, how you even, like, became like a website designer and like, how you got into this world. Like, can you just, like, take us back a little bit and tell us kind of what started your journey in this online space?
Yeah, of course. I feel like you'll like the story because I feel like it has some, like, butterfly effect, but. Okay, so essentially, when I've always loved, like, design and art and creativity and all that. So in college, I studied graphic design, but it wasn't my major. It was like, it was my minor. I studied, like, marketing communications. Because I didn't think I could do anything with graphic design specifically. I thought I needed to go into, like, a marketing role. So I graduated college and I got my first job working at a holistic wellness center as the marketing staff specialist. And it was really. It was really awesome. And I loved the. The industry that I was working in. That's when I kind of figured out that my industry was like, or my niche was health and wellness, like, that vibe. But long story short, like, the environment wasn't ideal. There was just, like, a lot of things that kind of led me to leave the place. And afterwards I was like, well, what do I do now? I, like, just had always, like, I freelanced graphic design on the side a little bit, but it wasn't something that, like, I thought I could pursue full time, especially not on my own. I didn't know what it was like to, like, be a business owner. And I was literally at a yoga studio, and I ran into someone that I knew many, many years ago. She did, like, my prom makeup, and I. We were just catching up, and I was telling her about how I left my job, and she happened to be in a networking group with this woman who owned a brand and web design studio who was looking to hire someone, like, at that time. And so she introduced me to her, and I started working under her. And she also happened to be a mentor for designers. So she kind of, like, took me under her wing. I had explained that I wanted to start my own business potentially, so she kind of taught me everything I knew. Like, I worked alongside her and also just started, like, my own thing. But if I had never gone to that yoga studio, I would have never been connected to her, and it never would have turned into what it did.
Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Do you feel like you've always been like that to just, like, kind of like. I feel like, you know, to quit your job, like, that's a big thing and just, like, not even know what you're doing. Have you always just, like, leaned into that trust?
I don't think so.
Like, I don't even know what I was doing. Yeah.
Sometimes I think about it and, like, genuinely, am I okay? I was, like, literally quit my job and then with no backup plan, and was like, I'm starting a business. There's no other option. And then I just did it. And like, I just didn't look back. And it's obviously been super hard, but at the same time very rewarding. And I feel like I've come so far in that time and it's just crazy that I really did just like jump right in. I mean, I did things on the side. Like I nannied for a while and I like worked part time at this place just to kind of like have some extra income while starting to do it. But yeah, yeah, no, I really just dove in head. It was just trusting that it was gonna work.
I feel like that statement that you just said is like so relatable where you're like, am I okay? Like, I feel like we've all made those decisions and then like looking back, it's just like, well, not even looking back. I mean, in the like close timeline of it, we're just like, am I okay? Like, what am I doing? But then there's just something like magic about following that trust too. Because yeah, you're right. There's like sometimes when we feel that nudge, there's something waiting that we just like don't even understand yet or we don't even know what's out there. So you're right. I do love that story.
And I feel like, I feel like I remember you said it was in one of your emails. Maybe, maybe I'm wrong, but you'll know when I explain it. But at the time when it was happening, I just was like, okay, I think I need to do this. But I was so scared to tell people that I was like starting a business or that when people would be like, oh, so what's the next step? I would just be like, oh, I'm looking. And I wasn't looking. But I didn't want people to know that, like I was trying to kind of go out on my own because I was afraid of judgment. And I feel like I remember you sending out an email about how like, don't take other people's advice that shoes you wouldn't want to be in or something along the lines of that. I think that was like the general consensus. But I feel like I know you can relate with like you and your partner wanting to travel the world and just like up and leave. And I'm sure there are people around you that think that's crazy. You're probably like, am I okay? And so it's just, it's interesting.
Yeah. Yeah, I love that. Yeah, I think I remember. I like, I often talk about like, some things you're meant to keep sacred. And like, of course you should have like your support group. Like, we don't need to like, keep everything like, bottled up. Like, you know, you're trusted people you can talk to. But it can just create so much stress in our life if we're just like kind of spewing it out to everyone, particularly if we know like, some people are going to come back with judgment and then it's this like, kind of it can like self affirm stories that you're like, oh, I knew that was going to happen. And then that doesn't like, support the forward action. So I love that you just like kind of did that intuitively as well of just like, I'm just going to keep this one to myself and like build it. It's actually so surprising to hear you say, to talk about that though, because you also. So like, Sarah rebranded my website if we haven't made that clear. And you just like popped into my DMs one day and I never answer like, cold pitches or like, I'm like, I'm just very choosy about it. But there was something so magnetic and I mean, I would describe that as you just like being so aligned with your energy and like, that was so felt by me. And like you've sat in some of the human design workshops that I've posted too. And Sarah's a manifesting generator and if you can't already tell, like the pivots, the fast, like, buzzy energy, like, it just makes all of the sense. But I just would have never guessed that, that you were kind of like, like, as you would like said a second ago, just like feeling kind of scared and like not really fully knowing what you're doing because, like, I just felt this like, bold confidence in like.
Well, I love to hear that.
Great. Like, I was just winging it over there.
Yeah, I know at that time I was really looking for some aligned projects and like, I obviously had experience, but in the beginning when you're starting up, you don't have like the experience that I necessarily do. I have now. And so I just remember I was like trying to reach out to people through DMs, but it feels so icky to like, sales, like, hold pitch yourself. But it was funny because I, I was looking for coaches just like in on Instagram because I ended up getting into mentorship when I, like a few years before. So I was like really involved in the coaching space. That was like another reason why I had like a pull towards Coaching as well as wellness. Um, so I was just, like, kind of typing that into the search bars, and then you came up, and I was like, oh, my goodness, I love her. Like, I just loved everything that you were posting. And so I'm. I'm really glad you responded because out of, like, I probably messaged, like, five or so people. You're the only one who answered.
Well, I'm glad I answered because my brand is amazing. Like, everyone just, like, pause the episode, look at my website, soak in all of Sarah's brilliance. Like, I don't actually. I feel like I'm such a hard client when it comes to, like, branding, because I'm like, I like everything. I like, like, you. She sent me brief of, like, do you like bold or cursive? Light, airy. And I'm like, yes, I like bold. I like cursive. I like light and airy. But I also like, like, powerful. And, like, I don't know how you pieced it all together in all of that.
Thank you for saying that. Honestly, you were not difficult to work with. I don't think you were. I feel like. I don't know, I feel like people like everything, but also, like, when you're putting pieces together on Pinterest and, like, kind of coming up with the general vibe, like, you are attracted to specific things. So I feel like a lot of elements, like, came together. And there's also ways to kind of, like, tie in multiple different. Multiple different things. So, like, how we have, like, the accent font for you that has that, like, cursive, whimsical feel, but that's not, like, everything on your site. But then we also had, like, this. I love the sparkles that we use in your branding. It's just, like, so magical. And so you. And I feel like I always see, like, I see you using your brand now across Instagram and stuff, and it's working for you. It's so working for you.
I just.
I mean, I know I made it, so I'm biased, but I feel like every time I see things now, like, I know it's you because of the colors and, like, the branding is doing what branding does.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, I feel like that's, like, what I loved about working with you is, like, I feel like somehow you, like, captured my essence where, like, I do feel like I like everything, but somehow even in that, like, you kind of cut through the noise and still caught my essence in that. So I guess I'm curious, Like, maybe someone listening is. Maybe they're, like, just Struggling with, like, figuring out what their brand is and they kind of feel that, like, I just like everything. So I'm just kind of like kind of mashing a bunch of things together. I don't know, maybe they just relate to this idea of like, I don't even know how to like, figure out what like, my brand is like. Do you have any tips or like, steps for them to take?
Yeah, I would say definitely, like, you want to try and make things more concise. So instead of just like trying to use a million different kind of colors or like a million different kind of vibes and switching up the vibe every day, you just want some consistency. And I know it's like super hard because everything is trending for like five seconds and then it's gone.
That's a great point.
And so I even like have that problem where I'll be scrolling and then I'm like, oh, I really like that font style. And so then like, I want to use that or I see people in my feed all the time, like, loving this, like, earthy color palette when it's trending and then all of a sudden they're using something like more dark and moody and then they're switching to something else. But, and, and that's great. And all. I know you probably like that style, but no one's gonna recognize you coming into your feed if it's changing every week. So I would say to just find like four to six colors that you like, that you want to stick with and can stick with. And then as well as one to two brand fonts that you feel aligned with. And this you can use. Pinterest is a great tool for this because you can look up like pre made color palettes, you can look up canva font pairings and it will like kind of kind of piece things together from there. But honestly, it doesn't really matter what it is specifically, but more the consistency of you using it. So you don't want to like switch up every single week. Yeah, And I think it really helps to kind of create almost like your own mood board at first just to kind of get a vibe going. And you'll probably see like a lot of colors are starting to come together from that in itself.
Yeah.
So just like going through Pinterest and like pinning a bunch of things that you like that you feel like give off the energy that you want your brand to give off. And then from there, like put those all on one page and then just pull colors from that and you can kind of start to piece Together a color palette that's, like, kind. That's my creative process in a way. There's obviously more involved, but that's like, an easy step that someone can take to kind of piece together some things and then try and pull some pieces together. And then once you have a color palette, just stick with it and really try and just like, only use that across everything because you don't want, like, your website to be different colors than your Instagram, then your Pinterest, then your TikTok. Like, you don't want everything to look different. So, yeah, I would say, like, cohesiveness and consistency, decency is huge.
Yeah. Can we speak to, like, the why in that a little bit? Like, I'm curious why even someone, like, just starting out, like, why you feel like that's kind of an important piece of the puzzle. Yeah. That they kind of mix in, especially, like, personal brands.
Yeah. So for one thing, with personal brands, there's. Every market is incredibly saturated, and we know that. So the one way that you're going to stand out is just by being you. And when someone's buying your coaching service or your product or whatever it is, they're not necessarily buying what you're selling. They're buying you because they find they found a relationship with you. They resonate with you in some way. They like the way that you show up. So building a personal brand is so important for that reason, because people are going to connect with you over what it is you're selling. And I think, like, that's one thing that you do really well with, like, sharing your travels and, like, sharing about your life and just like, your story, someone who maybe has traveled the world or wants to travel the world is going to connect with you over another coach, like, for that reason. So I think the small things that make us us are what we should, like, really share about. And then aside from that, with, like, having some sort of branding going into it, is that when you're first showing up, you want to be recognizable. And so, like, the more that you show up and the more you're using, like, the same kind of photos and elements and everything, the more people are going to recognize you and what you're selling, especially in the beginning, because you're trying to get known. And in order to do that, the consistency is huge. And I think it, like, people just don't really have high attention spans nowadays either. So the more that they can relate things in their brain, the easier it's going to be for them to then, like, take action on that.
Yeah.
The other thing I was gonna say is that, I mean, not everyone needs this, but I highly recommend doing some sort of branding shoot. Whether that's like, you invest in one or you set up a tripod and do it in your backyard, like, whatever it is. Having consistent imagery is so huge, and it just kind of helps you look more professional and put together. And there's a lot of great free stock photos out there that you can definitely use, which is super helpful, but obviously everyone else has access to those as well. And so having professional branding photography or even just, like, doesn't have to be professional. It can be, again, like, tripod in your backyard. Having that is really going to help you stand out even more because it's going to be more specific to you and your brand than stock.
Yeah, I love that. Yeah, I'm curious. Well, first of all, before I actually go into that, also, somehow Sarah took all of that and just, like, put it into my personal brand. So, like, also just shout out to connecting with Sarah, because somehow you took, like, everything of, like, my love for, like, travel. Like, I remember in our branding brief, I was like, yeah, and, like, I love travel and I love the ocean, and, like, I love nature, too, and can we blend that in? But also I love, like, the cosmos and, like, stars, and like, somehow you just, like, pulled all of those personal pieces in. And then I think I had either just had a recent photo shoot done. I think I had just had it done, or, yeah, it had just went.
On a retreat and you just had that. But you also had some older photos, too, that we pulled in. That worked really well. Everything worked well together.
Yeah, well, I think that's, like, kind of where I was going to of, like, what about, like, the evolution of your brand? Because I find that as someone who's had a personal brand since, like, 2016, I mean, I've evolved in that, and then my business has evolved as a. Like, I think I feel like that's just natural when you have a personal brand. Like, you're evolving, so your business is kind of going to evolve with you. And so how does your brand come along for the ride, too? Like, I. I don't know. I feel like there's like, even, like, different levels of a rebrand. I don't know if this is, like, my take as someone who's not a branding expert, but I feel like there's, like, these mini rebrands where you're just kind of, like, adjusting some things, and then there's, like, the big rebrands, which I know you personally just went through and. And that's what you helped me with as well. So I guess before we even get, like, so deep into rebranding, like, is there anything you would say to someone who's kind of in that in between phase of, like, I just feel like there's this little evolution, and I'm kind of, like, fighting the urge to, like, burn it all down and start from scratch. Like, is there any kind of, like, baby step that we could take in between?
Yeah, I know it's so hard because I feel like we change so much over the course of time. Like, even when I rebranded, it had only been, like, a year, I think, from when I. What I initially had put out. And I feel like kind of in the beginning, it's. You just kind of want to, like, put things together and then just, like, get out there and get started. And that can work for someone for a really long time. But I think that sometimes we can kind of get in our own head where we, like, stop promoting ourselves or stop marketing and stop posting things because we're not super confident in what we're putting out there. Yeah, because we don't feel aligned with it anymore. And so I feel like that's kind of where I was at, is I didn't even want to, like, show up on social media and stuff, because I didn't. I wasn't loving my website. I wasn't loving, like, the colors that I was using and all that. So I. I just kind of needed to, like, sit down and redo the whole thing. And I think that for someone who's in between, you don't have to burn it all to the ground. But I do think if you're feeling hesitant about your brand and what you have so far, you're probably going to benefit a lot from going through a rebrand because it's going to help you, one, get really clear on everything that you now offer, who you want to serve, what it is that you're doing, and then put all of that into your rebrand. So then your brand is now, like, more accurate to who you are at that point and how you've evolved. And I also think that you don't have to, like, go through a whole, like, rebrand every couple of years or so. It can be as small as just, like, getting a new branding shoot and replacing some photos or, like, going through and editing some text or maybe swapping out a font or two to just kind of, like, elevate your look. But what I will say is with investing in, like, Professional branding and web design, we go through this, like, whole process with, like, I know we did, like, a lot of brand strategy with you, like, who your ideal client is, what it is specifically that you do, who you serve, and all of that is intended. So that way your brand is created so it can grow with you. Because when you sit down and you really get, like, super clear on all of that, that's not gonna change, like, every year. You know what I mean? You might come out with like a new program or a new service, but your ideal client isn't gonna change all that much in a year. I mean, it totally can. But I think that when you, like, really get clear on all the strategy and everything behind it, like, once you know your why really strongly, I think it helps give you purpose going forward so you don't feel like you need to burn it all down every couple years or so or just like, make this huge pivot.
Yeah, that is actually like, such a great point because I feel like, like sometimes we can think, oh, if I, like, if I just do a brand refresh, like, something's gonna get fixed in my business, like, it's gonna create results that I've been looking for. And it's kind. We're kind of just thinking about it on the external of, like, the colors, I change the font, it's going to give a refresh and then, like, done. And that is like, something I loved about working with you is it was like such an in depth, like, starting worksheet that I feel like I did have clarity activated. And hey, that's what this show is all about here of, like, getting super clear of, like, okay, but what actually is this evolution? It's not just like, let me change my brand, let me rename something, and then, like, that's it. It's. It's so much deeper than that. Like I always say, and I def. I didn't write this quote. I don't remember who did. So I always say, when your why has heart, your action has wings. And that's like kind of what you said a moment ago too. Like, when you have that deep why behind it, like, it can't help but propel you forward. And so I think that's a great point because we've been talking a lot about, like, colors and fonts and like, that stuff can be really fun to work on. But also, are you doing the deep work underneath it, which I just feel like is a reflection of all the reinventions we go through in our personal life too, right?
Yeah, definitely. And I know it can seem like, okay, something's not working. Maybe I'll just change his color or maybe I'll do this. But maybe that's not the problem. Maybe the problem is that your business has grown and now you want to serve an entire different client and you're not speaking directly to them through your marketing. So, like, when you go through brand strategy, you really get clearer on messaging and, like, the pain points that the person you want to work with is facing and, like, how you can help them. And then you kind of pivot everything all together. So that way, now you're attracting who you want to attract because you're speaking to them and you're not just, like, I don't know, just marketing your services for the sake of marketing them. That's more, like, intentional that way. And it does help to change, like, colors and fonts and stuff, especially because obviously colors have color psychology, and, like, fonts can help give off a certain vibe or emotion. But sometimes that's not the problem. Sometimes it really is, like, way more internal in the business of, like, you don't even know who it is that you want to serve or why it is that you're doing what you're doing. And people can feel that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Your energy is, like, so felt. I mean, that is even like, Sarah popping into my dm. Like, I felt her energy immediately. Like, your energy so felt behind the screen. Like, whether you're talking to a stranger, you're talking to people who have been following you for, like, years and years and years in years. Let's talk rebranding a little bit. So you recently rebranded. You've shared that. What was the why behind that for you? So.
I think that in the beginning, I again, like, I just slapped some things together and was just like, I'm hitting the ground running. So I just, like, put things together. I definitely put time and thought into it, but I also didn't have, like, all the systems and strategies that I have now that I do with my clients. So I kind of just felt like I had a year in my pocket. I had a lot more experience, a lot more aligned projects. I know exactly who I want to work with now and what kind of projects light me up. So I was like, I just need to kind of, like, sit down and just, like, read, redo the whole thing. And I also feel like in the beginning, I was not trying to blend in, but I was trying to be like everyone else. So I was then in turn blending in because I just. A lot of designers in My. In the space that I was, like, seeing were doing, like, they have more minimal styles, more neutral colors, and, like, kind of more of that, like, high end, elevated feel, which I obviously love. But my style, I mean, you know, is more like, it's very colorful, very vibrant. There's just like, I don't even know how to.
You.
If you look at my stuff, you would know exactly what I'm talking about. But I think so. I think in the beginning, I was just kind of, like, not really honing in on my specific, like, specialties. And I didn't really hone in on my style in my own branding because I was just trying to, like, be like other designers because that was working for them and it wasn't my ideal style. So I feel like you could kind of tell maybe. I'm sure that, like, authenticity is the highest frequency. So I'm sure that, like, it was known that I wasn't, like, in my element. But once I started working with clients, I want to say, like, I had a big breakthrough, like, in November. I think that's, like, right before we started working together. I started working with three clients, and you were one of them. And they were all, like, some of my favorite projects to date. And after that, I was like, okay, this is. I can do this. Like, this is really working. And so for a while, I, like, put my own stuff on the back burner because I was, again, like, trying to keep the business going. But it got to the point where I was just like, I'm not promoting myself because I don't like the colors I'm using. And I think that everything looks, like, chaotic and terrible. And obviously, to someone else, maybe it didn't. I don't know. But, like, we just get in our own head about things. And it was a block for me, whether I wanted to admit it or not. And after I eventually, like, went through all that, I, like, felt the relief because I've been able to, like, show up more. I've started posting again. Like, I feel a lot more proud of my entire. What's it called? Online presence per se. And so I do. I feel like it just got to a point where I just kind of knew that I needed to shift some things in that way. And I feel like a lot of people can probably relate because I know I've heard from a lot of people like, that they eventually give up on marketing and give up on doing things, because when you don't feel right about your online presence, you're not going to want to promote it because you don't want people looking at your stuff.
Yeah, Yeah. I mean, I think that makes so much sense. And, like, particularly for, like, the role that you're in, I think so often, like, the thing that we teach and the thing that we support people through is, like, often the thing we, like, need to work on ourselves. And so then it's like, yeah. And it's so relatable to hear, like, oh, yeah, I put this on the back burner. I put this on the back burner. And I feel like so many people listening can feel that tension of, like, okay, wait, this can't be on the back burner anymore, because it's actually the thing that's holding me back now.
Yeah.
And then it can propel you forward once you just, like, give yourself the space. And I think that can, like, take a lot of courage, too, because even, like, something like rebranding, like, that means you have to kind of have that, like, slow down to speed up energy.
Yes.
And, like, let me do this thing I've been putting on the back burner. And you said a moment ago, like, but I have client work and I have this, and I have to keep running the business. But you took that pause to do it, and then it was like, okay, then we speed up from there.
Yeah. And I feel like it can seem super overwhelming to think about, like, going through a rebrand. I remember when I was like, okay, I think I need to do this. I sat down and I just brain dumped everything that I would have to then change after I did do the rebrand.
Yeah.
It was so overwhelming. And so I just want to say to anyone who's about to embark on that journey or if they're even considering it, it is not nearly as bad as you think it's going to be. I promise. Like, when you look at a list of a hundred things that you're going to do, you're not going to do those 100 things in one moment, in one day. Even, like, I think it was over the course of, like, two months that I did everything, and it was slow and steady. I still kept working in my business at the same time, like, I was still doing everything that I was doing. I was just doing a lot of those little things behind the scenes. So I'd be curious to know, like, how you feel or you felt during that time frame, because I remember, like, you were changing over to Megan Johnston coaching. So I know you had to change, like, links and, like, names and. Yeah, all of that. So I'd be interested to know, like, how you felt in that process, like, working with me, helping alongside that.
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Well, before working with you, I was so overwhelmed that I wasn't doing anything. And I think that's like, something you're highlighting here too. Like, in your own journey is like, if the overwhelm is the thing stopping you, like, look for a different solution within the problem. And I mean, sometimes it's like, served up to you in an Instagram DM as Sarah the angel, popping into my message at just the exact right time of, like, oh, my gosh, yes, I am looking for a rebrand and you're feels perfect because I need that manifesting generator energy in my business. But yeah, before working, I mean, I was so overwhelmed because I think a part of me was like, yeah, I can just do all this myself. Like, I've been. I've been kind of building website stuff. Like, I'm decently savvy and, like, Canva and things like that. And I just kind of thought, I'll take my old branding and create, like, a new iteration for it. But that didn't actually feel like. And I think this, like, taps back to the conversation we were having earlier. Like, it didn't feel like it connected with the why behind. I mean, for me, in my case, I was, like, changing the whole name of the business and everything. And so that didn't feel like it actually supported the why. It kind of felt like if I did that, I would be building something on, like, an unstable foundation. And so then when you and I started working together, like, so much of that was just taken off of my plate, that there was so much clarity activated in all the other pieces because, like, you were there to support the brand, the imagery. Like, you supported me on connecting with that why connecting with the ideal client. Like, connecting with the energy behind the rebrand. And then I had just like, a small list of other things of, like, okay, let's just find, like, the other links that need to shift. And honestly, it's something I'm still in process of, like, I'm still finding links. And I think you shared that in your journey too. And I think it's such a great reminder for people of, like, you don't have to do it all at once. Like, it. Your evolution can be an unfolding that's like, whether you're rebranding a website or, like, rebranding your whole life, you can just like, start, let yourself take messy action and, like, pick up the pieces as you go. But yeah, to answer your question, like, you Created clarity in that entire process. Like having I created clarity for the clarity Queen. Yes.
I do think that's super relatable, though, in, like, wanting to do it all yourself, because I think every business owner ever has been there. I mean, obviously you have to wear all the hats at some point. But I think that, like, it's so hard to let go and let someone else take the reins in something, especially when you can just do it yourself. But I read a book. Is it. Was it the Big Leap? It might have been the big leap. Have you read the Big Leap?
Yeah, it's one of my favorites.
And there was like, I think it's this book, but it was something about, like, your zone of genius.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And just how, like, the cost of your own time and energy and doing something that isn't in your zone of genius. And it's like, yes, you could have sat down and you could have redone your whole website yourself. And yes, you could have made your own branding and everything and then used that, but that probably would have taken you many hours. And then what if at the end of all of that, you still don't even like it? You know what I mean? And so there was like an example, and it was this guy tried to fix his printer and he couldn't do it, and he spent seven hours doing it, and he ended up having to hire some college student to come and fix it anyway, and he fixes the printer. It was like a hundred bucks. And he could have just spent a hundred dollars in the first place and not sacrifice all that time, but he sacrificed those seven hours as well as paying someone anyway. So it's like, how much, like, how much is it gonna cost you for your time? And kind of like putting that to the test because obviously, like, you want to be in your business, you want to be coaching, you want to be posting whatever it is that really lights you up in your business. You don't want to be worrying about, like, the back end setup of your website.
Yeah, no, I didn't.
No one wants to do that. And so it's like just giving it to someone else who, like, that is their zone of genius. And then you really just, like, save yourself the time and the energy because obviously, like, our energy is sacred.
Yeah, yeah. 100. Yeah. I think there's so much magic when we let ourselves be in. In our own zone of genius versus, like, trying to do it all ourselves and, like, really honoring the things, I think in the spirit of, like a rebrand, feeling overwhelming, like, honoring the Things that, like, could take the back burner. Like, okay, I don't need to fix all of the links tomorrow. Like, I can fix the links that are important as they go and, like, not make it this urgent thing of like, there's so many links out there from all the years. And like, yeah, I think I had this idea in my head of like, okay, if I do the rebrand, like overnight, people are going to forget about who I am. But I think that's just like, yet another thing I loved about working with you is like, I feel like, like, I mean, no one forgot about who I was and I felt like I was more seen.
Oh, I love that.
The moment I, like, chose to like, step into that versus, like, suddenly being forgotten about.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, I love that. I, I was gonna say too, about like the links. I was so worried when I was rebranding because I have like, like a Pinterest and I used to like, I could post blogs on my old website and then like made Pinterest posts for those and so they're all linked to like a website that doesn't exist anymore. And I was like, if someone finds that, like, it's gonna go to a dead end. But the thing is, I had to remind myself is if someone wants to work with you, they'll find you. And it's on Pinterest. But if they click on my profile, there's my website, there's my Instagram, there's my contact info. So there's a million other ways that people can find you other than this, like one dead end link that could potentially lead them nowhere. If someone really is meant to work with you, like, they're gonna, they're gonna find a way. And I think of all the times that I've ended up on a broken link and I've just backtracked and then found my way to the place. So, yeah, we give people less credit than they actually can.
Like, oh my gosh, it's just our brains. It's so true. Like, this could take us down like a whole rabbit hole. But this is something I think about all the time, especially with, like, the rise of like, things. Like many chat, like, just like getting quick answers of like, you know, comment, I don't know, whatever. Clarity below to get like the free guide. And like, there's this conversation of like, you have to do it like that because people aren't going to take the time to like, click to your profile and then click to your bio. And it's like, well, I just think we're taking a lot of credit away from people thinking that they're not going to take two steps to do something. Oh, it could take me down.
And if they're not, do you want to work with them anyway? Like, if they can't follow.
Like, if they can't.
If they're not going to click two buttons to then go here. Like, you want someone who's like, oh, my goodness, I'll click ten buttons to work with you?
Yeah. Yeah. My very first life coach that I ever worked with, I, like, I sent her an initial email, then I booked in a, like, discovery call, and then I wasn't sure if the discovery call went through, so I sent her another email. Like, that's the energy of, like, the ideal client. And I think there's, like, clearly a difference here between, like. Like, you don't want everything to be broken and you don't want that, like. Like, leaky energy out there. But, like, it's kind of the question of, like, what are the things that you're just spending so much time on, when, again, that's not the problem that needs to be solved. I feel like that has come up so much in this episode, definitely.
And I feel like sometimes that is, like, a subconscious block, too, where you're just, like, circling around this one thing that's gonna get you nowhere because you're not, like, ready to go somewhere. And so I think sometimes we, like, focus on things that are so unimportant and aren't actually gonna move the needle just because it's, like, easier that way. And I think I did that a lot in the beginning, too, with just like, well, I have to do this, and this has to be perfect, and this is perfect. So, like, eventually, my motto is just progress over perfection. I don't care what it looks like. I just have to make steps, and that's the only way you get anywhere. Honestly?
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I like. I mean, honestly, though, like, spoken like a true manifesting generator, too. Like, I wouldn't expect anything else. Like, that's, like, the motto for manifesting generators. Like, perfection. It's. I mean, it's so good.
If you, like, scroll back on my Instagram, I think I made a graphic that literally says, like, progress over perfection. Because it was, like, during that time where I was just, like, like, really resonating with that because there was, like, a million things that I wanted to do, and nothing was, like, perfect, and I was just, like, putting things out anyway, because I was just like, this is what I'm doing, and this is. It's gonna work.
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I love that so much. Yeah. It just feels so true to your energy. Oh, my goodness.
Okay. It's so fun to be on the other end of someone who likes. Know so much about that because I. I know, like, a little bit about my type, but it's so interesting to hear you say that.
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Like, everything, like, from. I. I think it was like, I was reading, it might have been the email that you sent about, like, your official rebrand and you. I think it said, like, I just kind of, like, threw together a brand and, like, hit the ground running. And I'm like, of course you did. Like, that's such. The manifesting generator energy, which is like. Yeah, I'm just gonna, like, put this out there and I'm gonna see what, like. And for anyone listening who doesn't know what a manifesting generator is, one, I'll link a separate podcast episode about all the types. But one of the things that manifesting generators are known for is that they find clarity in their process. So it's like it is the motion that creates clarity for them. And I feel like that's just come through at so many points in this conversation.
Yeah, that's so true.
Yeah. Yeah. It's wild.
Interesting. I had a guest on my podcast, like, a few months ago was this health coach who's from Australia who I did a program with, and she. Her dad's, like, favorite quote or thing he always used to say was, objects in motion increase in value or something along the lines of that. And it was basically just about how, like, you improve the quality of everything in your life by taking action and, like, movement in your life, moving your body, moving just, like, everything. And like, now she's a realtor, so she helps people, like, move home. So it's just kind of funny that it's like, moving.
Yeah.
So much motion and movement in her life. But it's so true because, like, you're really not going to get anywhere until you take that action in motion.
Yeah. Yeah. It's so true. It's so good. Oh, my gosh. I love it. Okay, something else I love about you, Sarah, as we're coming to, like, the end of the show, but something I love about you is, like. And again, I think this is just like that multi passionate, like, manifesting generator energy. But, like, if you listen to Sarah's podcast, like, it's not just like, like a branding podcast. It's like all of the loves in your life, like, You've got, like, health coaches on there, and there's conversations about intuition, and there's so many. Just, like, I just feel like every episode is, like, a little spark of you. So I'm curious because we've talked like, a ton about, like, websites and branding. Like, what's one or two things in your life right now that are, like, sparking clarity for you kind of in your personal life?
So fun. Okay, so last fall, I started doing aerial yoga. And I think you. You probably saw because I was, like, posting about it a little bit, but I just, like, fell in love with it. So I was going, like, all the time. And then I want to say, like, two months ago, I kind of stopped going a little bit, but I started going to, like, these organized, like, workout classes. It's called F45. I don't know if they're everywhere, but it's like just like a organized resistance, like lifting some cardio mixed in. And I've just discovered that I just love an organized workout class. Like, I love getting to show up and not having to do anything and then just like, tell me what to do and then I get to leave. And I feel, like, so fulfilled because I've worked out, I've moved my body, but also like. Like, it's taken kind of like the to do list part out of working out because I feel like I always was, like, I just. I need to move my body. Like, and it's just like another thing to check off. But, like, when I go to something, it's just kind of like I get to be in my feminine energy because I'm just not doing anything. Like, I don't have to set up the mat. I don't have to, like, figure out what it is that I'm doing. So I think with, like, through aerial yoga and that I discovered that just like, I like going somewhere else and having them, like, walk me through what to do. So that's something that really has been lighting me up. Aside from that, I've been loving espresso martinis lately.
Amazing. I love the contrast. And like, like, that is not what I would have expected. And I love that that's, like, the perfect.
Trying to think of, like, things that. Because, like, every month I do, like, a. An email with, like, monthly mindset and then, like, must haves. And it's basically just, like, things that I was loving that month. And so I was trying to think of, like, the things that I recently did. And I'm pretty sure I just, like, did one for an espresso martini. Because I just love an espresso martini. They're just so good. But I was also gonna say that I've been going to the lake a little bit and just like, like spending a lot of quality time with friends, which has been super nice. Yeah, I feel like life gets so busy and it's like, so hard to get together with people, but I feel like every time I like, make the time for it, it's just like. It's like people are what make life worth living. I feel like I just like, so enjoy doing things with other people. And so, yeah, I feel like making the time for that is huge too. Aside. And espresso martini. During. That is good.
I was gonna say during. So after the F45 workout, which is like an intense workout, and then like during the friend and community.
Yeah. Then we're getting espresso Martin after.
I love it. Oh, my gosh. I love, like, I wouldn't expect anything less of, like, let me find, like, three very contrasting activities.
Wellness and alcohol. Love that.
It's good. Whatever sparks you want.
We're multifaceted, We're. We got totally balanced.
Yeah. Yeah. I am curious, like, do you find, like, the more you give yourself access to these things that bring you joy outside of, like, your work? Do you find your creativity, like, your drive to, like, put things out there, reach out to people, like, whatever it is? Like, do you find that that's like, directly correlated?
Yes, I do feel like every time I take like some time off because I'm like, going away with friends or I'm doing something with family, when I come back, it's like I have a new lease on my work life. Like, I just feel like, yeah, I do feel way more inspired and way more creative after I get over the overwhelm because I'm the type of person who like comes back and then I look at everything I have to do and then I like, have a mentee mental breakdown and then I'm like, just grinding everything out. And like, it all always works out. But I do have like the mini panic always when I first come back.
From like a trip or something where.
I'm like, what did I do to myself? And it's never as bad as I think it is in my brain, but I also think it's kind of like the self sabotaging thing where I'm like coming down from the high of like, being away and like, with people and doing things and then like coming back into work. But yes, I do feel like it always re energizes me. And. And I'm also someone who's just really inspired by like, the outdoors and nature and like the colors of the world and just like, things around me. So I feel like when I take time and I go away, like the last weekend I was away at the lake with my friend and I was just sitting outside and I was just like looking at the pattern of the trees and like, they're just so pretty. And I just feel like I don't do that if I'm not like, away from work. Because, you know, when you're locked into your work, sometimes it's like productivity mode. And so I feel like when I'm away from that and I'm just like, having time to like, myself or with friends or something, I like, can pay more attention to the things around me. And that in itself is super inspiring.
Yeah, yeah, I love that. I totally agree. And I feel like it's like we can get in our work zone and then it's like, it's productivity mode, but then sometimes it's not. It's like to our detriment, like, so I'll find, like, I'm like trying to create. I'm trying to put a new workshop together or something like that. And then it's like force, force, force. And then suddenly I just go for like a one mile walk and I'm like, oh, everything's fine.
It helps so much.
Yeah, yeah.
But every time I'm like, no, I have to finish this. I can't go on a walk. I can't do it. And then finally I will. And it's like that took me way quicker than it would.
Yeah, exactly.
If I had just continued to try and grind it out.
Yeah, yeah. It's just like the moment you start to feel that, like, pressure, force, like I have to, to do this. Like, that's the moment, you know, you have to, like, take. It can be like sometimes less than five minutes. Just like step away and it's like, oh, it's like activated again. Yeah, yeah, I love.
Definitely.
Well, before we tell the people where they can find you and all of your fabulous work, is there anything else that you feel like needs to be shared in this conversation today?
I don't think so.
Okay. Lovely feeling.
Content. This was a good conversation. I enjoyed it.
Oh my gosh. Such a good. I knew it would be such a good conversation. It's so fun to just hear, like, the weavings of, like, your story and your energy and then like, how all of that just like, supports you to just be like, such so incredible. I feel like I can't even just call you, like, a brand strategist or, like, a website designer. I feel like it's just, like, so much more than that. You, like, capture the essence of. Of people and their brands, and it's just, like, so magical to have experienced that and just magical to watch, too, because I feel like every time you share someone else's brand, I'm like, I get it. I get who that person is. Like, you can just, like, feel it. Yeah.
Oh, I love that. That is the best compliment. This is, like, giving me the best energy to keep going for the week. I'm like, you were bringing me back to life, Megan.
