Hi, welcome to today's edition of Meganomics 101. I'm Megan, and I'm here with music artist Erica Ford, who today is going to be performing one of her songs in a movie. So we're going to get started, and I'm going to go ahead and take you through all the steps to make her camera ready and look hot for the film. So we're going to get started. This is how I do makeup. You've got to make sure that you ask the questions. Questions are so key. You want to ask, what is your level of comfortability with makeup. What do you normally wear? How do you normally wear your makeup? So we've already asked Erica all of these questions, and she's game to go from zero to Gaga in 60 seconds. The basis of any good makeup application is skincare. We're starting with Bare Minerals Wrinkle Concentrate. It's dry, it's dry. And now I'm gonna put on Senna Cosmetics Silky primer. You want to use a primer no matter how old someone is, how young someone is, how great or bad someone's skin is, because it's going to help adhere the foundation to the face and it's going to last all day. Curling the lashes first ensures that you're not going to mess up any of the eye makeup. You're not going to mess up any of the face makeup in case she tears. I like to keep their eyes closed and kind of push my fingers into their orbital bone to get their lashes to stick up. What we're going to do with Erica today is I'm going to put a light cream shadow base. This is Senna Cosmetics Finger Paints 2 Quad. And I'm going to hit the base of Erica's eye from the lash up and just kind of go right over her eyeball. I'm not taking this all the way up To the eyebrow. What I'm gonna do next is finish the base that I started creating with the cream shadow using another Senna palette, Fingertip Paints Angel Face. And I'm gonna go ahead and bomb on her brow bone. Now we're gonna move on to the actual eyeshadow. And I'm gonna brush— I'm gonna tap in The color. I'm going to bomb on her eye right now. Open your eyes, look up. Knowing how to make your client maneuver their face is really important. Now we've got the dark to the light. This is what creates that lovely stripper from Ohio look. We don't want that for Erica, not for this particular film. So what I do is I take a color, I call it a bridge color. And it'll be like a peachy tone or a rosy tone depending on the skin color or the look that we're doing. I'm using a color that appeals to both light-colored skin and more Latin-y looking girls. You see what that did? It's really subtle, but it just takes the color from the dark to the light and still gives it a sense of warmth. The bridge color is what I call it. Next is The eyeliner. I'm not going to use black because I don't want Erica looking too harsh. And brown is a great substitute that still gives us the intensity that we're looking for. Always sharpen your pencils before you apply them. I put the finger lightly into the orbital bone. And I'm pressing into— I'm sketching into the lash line. And what I'm doing, I'm just applying the color. This is not a pinup style, you know, Betty type of look where the eyeliner needs to be perfect, because I'm going to smoke this out. We just darkened her lash line, which her lashes are amazing. Look up. This is the part that really gets people excited. And I'm going to get inside the rim of her eye in the waterline. I'm going to create a lot of intensity for the eyes. Okay. And I want to not only get the waterline, but the lash line as well. I don't want to see any skin. Erica has the type of eyes where the top part of the eye likes to fold over a little bit, and so when you have the eyes closed, closed, you will have a tendency to try to go into the crease area, and you won't even be able to see that makeup. So let's avoid that situation. Okay. A good rule of thumb with eyes like hers, or Asian eyes, is to put it where you can see the skin start to dip into the orbital bone. And now I'm just going to take my finger. So I still have the shadow hint. I'm going to add a little more of the purple eyeshadow. This is where I focus on the eyebrows. So we're just kinda filling in the sparse parts and making the parts that need more hair to, to make a more fluid shape, we're adding that. And I'm simply going to wipe off whatever mess I've made with makeup remover. And then here I can really create the shape. So it can look like I've put a stencil and airbrushed But really all we did was wipe. Now I'm gonna move in with the eye cream. So now we are ready to begin the face makeup. Right now we're gonna move in with a cream to powder foundation because it's fast, it is long, long lasting. I wanna focus on this area in the middle. I want to get into the nose. Okay, so I'm going down these areas first. This is where parts of the face that need to be highlighted, and light brings out, dark pushes back, color rounds an area. And now I can kind of lightly brush in the rest of the blending. And focusing on the areas that are problems. Again, brushing that out. And making sure that it's blended. So this part will be more of like a veil. Next, I'm moving in with the bronzer. The bronzer I like to use not just to give the warmth, but to do the— Do the contouring. So the way I apply it is I start at the hairline, right around the temple area, and I call it the Kelly LeBrock. I'm going all around her hairline. We're mimicking what the sun would naturally do. At the same time, we're giving her warmth. We're contouring her cheekbones. And bronzer is a great way to do that. And a little bit underneath the chin. And I'm constantly doing this with my brush, taking the color off, because I don't wanna go on there and put a bunch of color. I wanna put as little color as possible and add as needed, not have to blend off. And I'm gonna go ahead and put on the blush. And I take like an ashy, mauvy, browny color and put it at the base of the cheek. And even though Erica already has her great natural blushy pink, we're still gonna add to it because that's just how she looks right now. Now for the concealer. Concealer is one of my favorite parts. I'm using Amazing Cosmetics Medium Beige. For Erica, and this you gotta be so careful with because it is intense. I'm gonna go here, here, here, here, here. Here, here, here, here, here. Highlighting, not only am I concealing, but I'm highlighting the parts of the face that we wanna bring out to you. Use my finger 'cause it's gonna melt. Underneath my skin. Open your eyes. I'm going to get super close. Erica has a very, very deep-set tear duct area, so we want to brighten that, bring it out. Also want to make sure that you get into the nostrils. There's nothing more beautiful than a perfectly done makeup, and then all of a sudden they put their head up slightly and it's Pink, pink, pink nostril. We don't want to see that. Now we want to do 2 things. We want to set the makeup so that it doesn't move and it lasts her all day of rocking and rolling and whatnot. But we also want to keep it dewy and fresh and moist looking. So what we do is I take 2 powders. I'm using Shu Uemura Setting powder, and this has no sheen. It is matte. So I'm gonna focus on the areas that we don't like to see shiny. We don't wanna see a shiny nose. But we don't wanna see a super powdery nose, so we just kinda brush it off. Make sure to get into the creases because that is where all the makeup likes to hang out. It's like their own personal office water cooler. And right here on the brow bone and up in the middle of the forehead, taking off any sheen. And this is gonna be the area that I'm gonna be paying attention to when I'm standing behind the monitor all day today to make sure that her skin looks awesome. Now I'm taking Bare Minerals Precious Diamond Body Minerals, and this is for the whole body, but I love this on the face. I'm hitting the cheekbone to really keep that sheen going right up in here. Now we're going to finish with mascara. I am using black mascara for Erica. I'm pushing, being very mindful of what my fingers are doing because I don't want to wipe off. Any of the makeup that I just so expertly applied. Alright, and now for the lips. For the lip, what we want to do is just throw on a gloss. So I took a very pretty peachy blushy Lip gloss. But Chroma Makeup Studio in Beverly Hills, this is their color. I would recommend a lip liner actually for Erika, especially for her top lip. So we're just gonna pump it up and define it more. So glam. Yeah, yeah, move it around, move it around. All right guys, so we're going to be moving on to the set and going on location. If you guys want to follow me, let's rock. All right, we are here at Amsterdam Cafe on set. What I did bring was the essentials. I brought face makeup, the face powder to take away the shine. I brought blush. Eyeliner, and all the lip stuff, just to be sure. And a sharpener, always good for the pencils. And my makeup brushes. So quick touch-ups for Erika before she goes on. And what? And what? And what? It's always the curveball you're throwing, man. It's always the curveball. You can't really sink your—
