$152,840 Down 🔻 | $300k Business in 30 Days (18)

Transcript of a YouTube video (Mike Andes with Pendroke) documenting travel and promotional activities while building a lawn-care business. The speakers describe a road trip (3,000 miles), logistical hiccups (deleted footage, low gas), planning for an adjacent Landscape Summit timed with Equip Expo, event details (classroom seating for ~600, Oct 16–18), and urgent ticket-sales needs tied to personal outlay (contract for $152,840; nearly $200,000 spent).

I'm traveling 3,000 miles across the country to build a $300,000 lawn care business in just 30 days.
We're out in the middle of nowhere. What time is it? Midnight. Let's see exactly what time it is. 11:45.
We're at the Waffle House. You're welcome. Thank you. Have a good night. This point could have been 500. We just want to say. Yeah, we've been like, ah. Okay.
Okay. This is the intro for day 18. We're recording on day 19 because we.
Realized that we deleted all the footage from the morning. Michael deleted all the footage off of his phone.
So the parking lot that you're looking.
At in the drone shot, we were shooting in that parking lot, and it's in the middle of nowhere. Okay.
And the little gas station you see.
In said drone shot is where we got gasoline. Because, remember last night, we didn't have any gas. Well, we had, like, eight miles left, and we had 20 miles to the next available gas station. Hence staying at Days Inn, where Zach.
Looked for bed bugs.
And the reason I'm telling you all this, because I had it all on my phone, and now it's all gone. Where Zach. The first thing he did was look for bed bugs. Our short expected pit stop, because.
Had to. It's on. It's not on my bucket list.
Now the question is, tell me in the comments, can you see bed bugs or not?
Well, we're making a lot of progress here. We're not too far from Knoxville, and this is supposed to be a highway, but it's temporarily been converted into a parking lot. So we're just experiencing that at the moment.
Oh, yeah, this guy's. Oh, yeah, dude, let's go. Oh, yeah.
That'S just what we need.
This traffic. We've moved, like, 48 yards. Yeah, it's not typical.
Four hours later.
Not gonna tell you yet.
I just don't. I don't know if I want to have banners blocking the windows. I would. You have banners blocking the window.
Was it, like, the backs of the.
Booth.
But there's plenty of natural light. Well, it depends on how many sponsors we end up having, dude. Because you know what would be cool is if you did a set, like, off the pillars and you. You sectioned it. Yeah. So you had, like, from here to there is a booth. That's smart, right? And you can either have two booths next to each other or just have one stand.
Oh, dude, this is a nice chair.
How long could you sit in this chair for exactly? Days. During landscape business. Landscape Summit, which is going to be.
Literally just a few days before the Equip Expo.
October 16th, 17th and 18th. It's going to be an amazing event that you will not want to miss.
So this is the style of seating.
We'Re going to be having at the event center. It's not in this room, but at the classroom style.
So this year you'll actually be able to face the front of the room.
Have a laptop, have plenty of room.
It'll be great. 600 people like this, A big classroom. So.
So before this event even started, I signed on this contract for exactly $152,840.
We need it now. That is before the event even started. So we need some people to show up.
All right, so we've been at Landscape summit for like four or five years now. One of those years, 2020, we had.
To have because of COVID on Zoom.
It was lame. So much better just to get together now. We've had it all the time in Seattle area, Washington state. Now, the problem with Washington state in the middle of January, when we typically have Landscape Summit is two things. Number one, cold and very good chance there's snow. And we don't do very well with snow. Number two is that flying to Seattle is expensive because you got to fly in Seattle and then we're like an hour and a half to two hours north of Seattle, so you got to go get a rental car or get the bus or do something stupidly crazy expensive. And so the cost of fly from like, let's just call it Ohio, because so many landscapers are in Ohio.
To Seattle is like literally $2,000 by the time you get your flight, get your hotel, get your rental car, and get a ticket to Landscape Summit. So what did we do? We came to landscapers because 30,000 plus landscapers come to Equip Expo every single year. And so we just figured, you know what, we'll make it more accessible. We'll plop Landscape Summit right next to Equip Expo. That's what we're going to do. We're here in Louisville, scoping out the land, finding a place to go. And where are we going to go? Omni Hotel, baby. Because that's where Equip Expo is typically coasted. It's like the main hotel. It's expensive. I. I don't really like that part. So we gotta split room. So, like, talk to someone else on lawn care Millionaires Facebook group and like, figure out you can, you know, bunk up with someone else or something. But it's a great place to be and you should really come. So.
Naru.
You can come to Landscape Summit too.
One day we'll just have to charter a plane and then you can come to Landscape Cinema on the plane. That would be. So for now, what are we talking about? Oh, yeah, you should bring your manager and you should bring your spouse. You should bring your key employees. You should bring your child and your dog and your cat. Just buy a lot of tickets because we need to sell a lot of tickets because it's a very expensive venue. But the goal in doing this is that we're right next to Equip Expo so you can come Monday all day long, like 8:00am to 6:00pm it's gonna be crazy. We're gonna pack in speakers. None of this two or three hour talking. It's gonna be fast, it's gonna be short.
We're gonna.
We got people, like really, really popular people that we all want to be like. Like Brian Fullerton and Sean Spencer and Savannah. They're coming. It's going to be great. But then we also have people who have big, really big businesses. Really big businesses. All right, really big businesses. And they're also going to be talking. And so whether you're just getting started, you're trying to grow your business, or you're trying to grow a really big business, you want to be at Landscape Summit and you should bring your spouse because guess what, guess what, they're 50, 50 partner with you. And if you get divorced because you're growing your business so fast and you're so enthralled with growth and I want your landscapes to me, I want to grow my business, get lots of employees and lots of trucks. You could be having really big, big, big, big problems. So you should bring your spouse. So you're on the same page. You should also bring your manager, someone that is very key to the organization. You need them on the same page as you as you head into 2024. And if 2023 was a disaster, guess what? Gotta get them on the same page. If it was great, it could be greater. 2024. It's gonna be amazing. So what do you need to do? Well, right now we need to go to mikeannies.com what is it? Mikeannies.com summit.
There you go.
Or just go to mikeannies.Com click a little thing on the top thing that says conference and book lots of tickets for your pet caterpillar, your iguana and your parrot. Because we need to sell. Did I already say that? We need to sell a lot of tickets because, look, it's almost $200,000 that I have literally shelled out of my pockets. And the media team is in the red. So we needed you to book tickets today. Go to mikeannies.comsummit and book today. We'll see you there.
That was really long. I'm gonna have so much editing now. You know we're driving, right? Can't be editing the car, dude. And I almost broke my phone.
That's like four more tickets, right, Pendroke?
