BTS of the Turnaround Show - Atlanta, Utah, Tri-Cities, Canada

A behind-the-scenes vlog from Mike Andes (uploaded April 14, 2025) documenting travel across Atlanta, Utah, Tri-Cities, and Canada. Brianna and Mike visit multiple gyms and rate them, review a Hilton Garden Inn hotel stay, and conduct small-business turnaround sessions: a 19-year-old owner (Kai) of Homey Window Cleaning aiming for $500k revenue, a 19-year-old window-washing business that did $250k last year, and TLC Lawn Care ( ~ $1.16M sales reported, with a stated net profit of $719k on the provided P&L). The video mixes practical business advice (focus on recurring revenue, move workers to W2 payroll, simplify services) with travel/logistics and casual vlog content (meals, protein shakes, luggage, team banter).

Hello, Vlog. We are at the refinery. Mike and I have decided that every state we go to, we're gonna try to go to new gym. So this one's pretty solid. Not a ton of machines, but the cardio machines are really cool. It's the Technogym brand. These.
Mach made by Kaiser and it used air compression instead of just like weight slats to.
Gauge the weight of your workout. Super cool. This squat machine I just used, it is super cool. It's like, so you can adjust it by either lessening the amount of resistance or increasing. And 100 pounds of like on a barbell is 100 points of resistance on here. So super co. I would give this place so far maybe a 6 out of 10 just because they don't. 7 out of 10 because they don't have a ton of machines. It's a lot of free weight stuff, which is good. But whenever I'm trying a new gym, I like to use the new different machines that they have. But those cardio machines are pretty sick.
We are in the Savannah airport flying to Salt Lake City turnaround tomorrow. And then Friday we are going to.
Friday we're going to Tri Cities in Washington for another turnaround as well.
And then we're going to Canada on Saturday.
Delta D.C. how do you feel about this turnaround?
Well, I haven't looked at any of the notes. I think they're smaller locations. I agree. Smaller business.
I think the biggest one's like 900,000 in revenue.
I think that's the Delta BC Pro destination.
I could be wrong.
No, we were gonna do a really big one and then they backed out.
You know what we say about quitters?
What do we say about quitters?
We don't say anything about quitters.
Cause that's right.
There's nothing to talk about.
Turn the other cheek, you know, Just let them fail in their business. Mike was about to be a mastermind. I have a reel to edit for you to post and research to do on Premiere Pro. Is that right? That's right. Amen. Being Carnivore and also being on the go quite often means.
To do with what we can. So we got four burgers and hot dogs. What would you rate it again?
Airport food. Carnivore only. No. Oh, is it 2030?
We have made it to Salt Lake City, Utah, and we are here with another hotel review.
You want another review?
As if he's the one who didn't ask. Do you want to go ahead and do that?
Okay, so this is the Hilton Garden Inn.
Right?
Is it Gonna give the whole review from right here.
So over there. Yeah. Okay, so this is Hilton Garden Inn.
As it says on the cup.
You want to explain them what you just did or what I just did?
There was downstairs they sell cereal but no milk. Crazy. Crazy. So there was no milk for me to buy for my protein drink. Now.
Last week, unaware, I read it, but I read it somewhere that you should have like 40 grams of whey.
Protein before you go to bed, because.
Easily synthesize and then just gain more muscle.
Why does the time of day matter?
Because it goes to sleep and it just like, just goes right to your.
Muscles as opposed to it not going too much as if you had it during the day.
Look, I don't believe it. I just read it. I'm not.
But you just drink protein for that very reason. No, no, no. And not only did he just drink protein, he drank water because they didn't.
Have milk, you know, and looked really gross. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. This is my guilty pleasure. This is sweetened with monk fruit extract and it has a little bit of sweetness to it. And I kind of like having a little sweetness in the day, you know? So it's my guilty pleasure and I'm enjoying it. So don't take it away from me.
I'm not gonna take it away from you.
And it's going right to my muscles, baby. That's right.
And it shows.
Okay, let's see. I haven't been here. Okay, this is a little dated, you know, this is very 2000ish. This granite situation. So kind of needs a remodel. I have another similar beef on the carpeting situation. I do like the walk in shower. Now, this doesn't pass code in some states. Now the fact that this, see how this like that, that could be like a real problem. And then also the fact like what I'm walking like, oh, boom, crash, head split open. Bad situation.
Maybe you should pick your feet up.
Yeah, but what if I'm 85 years old, I can't pick my feet up 6 inches?
I'm sure they have accessible rooms.
Why don't we get those?
Did we need.
Who booked our rooms? You hooked our room. Today was the first time that we have three rooms on a turnaround because there's five of us now breaking the bank. It is crazy how much it costs to make these turn around for this. Okay, see folks.
Next to my extremely fantastic luggage, we can see here that something went terribly wrong with the carpeting. I. I think they ran out of Carpet. So all in all, you know, and just gonna be honest, like, look, if you're gonna have a desk, like, it's kind of beat up. I'm trying to be.
Let's give it some pros. What are some pros?
Pros.
Yes.
Clean again. There's a bed that I can sleep on.
Correct.
That almost gives it a 7 out of 10 right off the rip. I'm gonna give it a solid 7.6. The reason I give it such a good review is because the lobby is nice. The people were friendly. They had a really cool area where you get food and it's self checkout. So like no talking to people.
Right. I like that.
You just go put it there and scan it and check out. This is how it's supposed to be, folks. So I'm gonna give a solid 7.4. What about you?
7.6 or 7.4. Okay, last one.
I don't really have anything bad to say about it, so like an 8.
So tomorrow's turnaround is a window washing company. Yep. 19 years old. Did $250,000 last year. It's gonna be $500,000. Besides, we plan for this year. We got six employees though, on $250,000. Revenue doesn't make a lot of sense. We have almost no recurring revenue. We don't know our numbers. So all I got was a bank statement. That's all I'm working with here, folks. I'm statement. And then he also has the age complex thing.
How old is he?
He's 19. And he thinks that's why people aren't working for him. And I hate to say it, that's not what.
Oh, really? You think he's a bad employer?
No, it's just not the reason. Why don't cast. Don't give power to something that a nefarious ghost that you just are fighting. We couldn't hire anyone because we were 19. Okay, so we're just gonna lose.
Okay. I think you need to get some sleep.
I'm tired.
Okay, that is all for the hotel review. The average will be like a 7.7.
Oh, wow. You went higher.
No, I did an 8.
You did an 8? Yes.
Average 7.7.
Why the car?
There's nothing bad to say. And that doesn't really affect my stay.
Okay.
Like turning the car is weird.
The festival. Okay, here on the vlog. See, right now this seems like a small thing, Right? I'm taking my shoes off. Right? No biggie. Right. Okay. Comment below. Do you a take your shoes off like a human Civilized person or B. See, I didn't even have to look over here. Didn't have to look over here. I just knew. I just knew there'd be triple taut, triple knotted sitting over here. Just sitting here. Listen. Like an alien. An alien.
It saves time if you just leave them tied and stuff them on.
Yeah. You should have seen her at tsh just cramming her foot in there. It's like, goodness, we're gonna pay for orthotics before you have new shoes.
Right. That's all for the hotel review and the roast of Brianna and Kai. Poor kid.
Hey, I love you, Kai. How's it going? Nice to meet you, Kai. Yeah, my name's Matt.
Matt, that's one thing about window cleaning. Why I wanted to get pressure washing is because after watching your channel.
You guys have the weekly longboy, right? Which is like just kind of recurring. And then you have the big landscape projects, which is. That's what I saw with pressure watching. Those are like my big landscape projects.
And what's your feeling as to why they're leaving right now?
I think. I mean, for me, I think that part of it is like, I was hiring a lot of older guys and I think it's hard for them to like, listen and work for a 19 year old. And so that I think is one of the reasons. And I mean, in the past, like, our training wasn't very good. We just didn't seem very legit. And so I think people didn't want to stay.
You're gonna crush it no matter what. I appreciate it mostly because the fact that last year really was your first year to 250. Yeah. And I think this year you already have some Momentum. You have 100 reviews on Google. Like that alone. Super cool. So I think a few little tweaks on the acquisition side and then the labor side.
You said cool.
I did have a couple questions that I wrote down.
I want to say any of them.
I was gonna ask Mike.
What's the point?
Just like Roe's soft or. No, it's just like to help people out.
That's his overall mission.
It's just like raise level professionals and help people out.
That's why we do like landscape summit and stuff like. Yeah.
What are your final thoughts on it?
Simplify services down to just window washing. It made up more than 80% of his revenue last year. He wants to sell the business in five years, so focusing on recurring revenue will be important. So there's no reason to like do driveway ceiling and all this other stuff.
His doesn't really have W2 forms for his employees and he pays them through Venmo.
Yeah, it's kind of the. Yeah. Payment through Venmo employee can't get like it's almost impossible to a rental application. It's almost impossible to get like a car loan. It's almost impossible to do get a credit card without a W2 if you're just getting money through from Venmo. So that's why I actually think solving his. Like, everyone's like, why won't employees stay with me? They're leaving for other jobs and I'm paying really good. He's paying pretty good too. Like 25, 35 bucks an hour. But people will leave because they got to get. They want to move out of their house, move out of their parents house and they want to get their own lease and do that. You need W2 income.
Do you kind of feel forums whenever you were 19, do you remember what it was like then trying to.
Oh, he has a better business than I did at 19.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah. 100. He's like, he's smart. He's been like watching YouTube videos. I'm super thrilled. Like this next generation quote, unquote, 10 years after me, like, they can go watch stuff about the 400 framework and growing their business and there's lots of influencers that share information and there's way more abundant. And so, yeah, like, I'm thrilled that he's ahead. He's ahead of me like when I was 19.
Yeah. See you, man. All right, so ready for the 400 framework.
Okay.
Today we're in Utah visiting Kai from Homey Window Cleaning.
Do you want, do you want the phone in the shot? Because it is. It kind of has to be like, unless I have a teleprompter, I'll hold it. Or unless you tell me you read me the lines. Sure, I can do that because we're going to chop them up anyway. Today we're in Utah visiting Kai from Homey Window Cleaning. Kai is a 19 year old. He's shooting for 500k in revenue this year, but cash is low and he doesn't know his numbers. My name is Mike Andes. I'm the founder of Augusta Lawn Care, where we have over 175 locations around the world. And I travel around the country fixing small businesses, struggling businesses. I travel around the country fixing struggling businesses. We went to the best gym in the world today.
Oh, my goodness. I impressed that I didn't get any horizontal shots for the vlog, but that was the coolest Gym. I might put pictures up or something or like a vertical video. Part three of visiting gyms across the country so you don't have to. Today we're in Kennewick, Washington, at PAC Gym. But it was so cool. It was like every other influencer's gym. Very different. Like, dark. A lot of overhead lighting. It even had a posing room.
Yeah.
And so many. So many unique pieces of equipment. Like tons of back machines and leg machines specifically.
Now, Brianna, what was the one bad thing that happened at the gym today?
The one. Oh, right.
Yeah. Okay. Okay.
It's gonna be a free trial for one day.
I have to explain. So I looked this place up on Google Maps. I go to the website, and all I see is free day pass. And I'm like, sick. We get a free day pass when we go. I do no further research. We get there, and she's like, so I need a card for this. I'm like, they all said on the website it was a free day pass, right? And she said, no. It was $33 plus tax per person. And there were four of us.
Yeah. I felt so bad. I was like, let's just go to an anytime fitness. I was 15 minutes away. But we didn't have time for that. So we just, you know, ate the dirt and we did it. But I can't say it was, like, totally worth it. But it was a sick gym. Overall rating is a 9.8. The only reason why it doesn't get a 10 is because of the price.
I would say, like, from a lifter's gym perspective. That was my favorite gym ever. 100.
It was.
So I don't know if I went with my daily driver, though, because there wasn't a lot of space to do, like, anything work, like boot camp stuff or once again, having our protein drink priorities. Just want to feed the muscles that we just completely demolished.
Oh, yeah. And then we went to Texas Roadhouse, which I did get a clip of that.
There's heavy things.
Today was such a good day. Utah. Oh, my goodness. I wish we had more time there. Salt Lake is very pretty.
All right, that's the wrap. Tomorrow we need to get TLC Lawn Care. $1.2 million in annual revenue. Doesn't know his numbers, and I once again, have absolutely nothing to work with besides an Excel spreadsheet that says he made $700,000 in profit. TLC, which, by the way, great brand name. I like it a lot. Okay, so all I got is a tax summary, and I got a profit and loss. But see, the Profit and loss is this. This is what I'm looking at. This is what we're working with, folks. Sales, 1.16 million. Net profit, $719,000. Let's go. It says less expenses. Nothing. This is what I got, like Vogue. We need a better profit than loss statement. But he has 12 employees, has no idea about the numbers of the business, but he's doing 1.2 million. And so if you're doing $100,000 per employee on a simple service, typically you can make money. So he's probably making. Okay, he doesn't even know. He literally said he doesn't know if he's making money or not. Tender love and care. We're gonna give him a look. Little tlc, if you know what I'm saying. All right, good night. Who knows what we're walking into today? He just doesn't know his numbers, he doesn't know his pricing. So it's been hard for him to hand things off to an admin because, like, how do you do pricing over the phone when you, like, really don't have any sort of pricing whatsoever? Good man. Good seal. The guys are rolling out this morning. It's always good feeling, especially on Friday. I can just tell. And it's like, I don't even think it's a problem at all. I'm just like, we can just make better sales systems and better admin systems. There's no reason to have system one, system two, fresh books, all that stuff. Most people come into your site, what do you want them to do? Submit an estimate request form. Make that, like the thing to do right at the top, right where they can see it without scrolling, without going.
To their page, post it up in the worst spot. The views are unreal. We're going to be doing the intro. Intro right about there. And Mike is practicing his intro currently.
Today we're visiting Trent from TLC Landscape Management. Our goal is to give Trent a strategy to turn around the company in the next six weeks and get the business back on track.
You could start by talking to Francis and then when you're actually explaining the elves, you could look at Joey each time. That'd be kind of cool.
All right, vlog, we are on our.
Way home.
From Tri Cities. Well, actually we drove from Tri Cities to Seattle and then from Seattle to home, but we're not home yet. We're about like two hours away. And we're gonna stop at this super cool looking gym called Clickway Athletics. So we will try it out, rate it, and let you know how we like it. How did you feel about today's turnaround?
Really good. That's gonna be a banger of a video also. We just released a video and it was one of our top performing videos ever.
Already?
Already hour. But kudos to the team. Shout out to the team. Props to the team. They crushed it. So we're gonna go on the way and pick up Lily's sugar free chocolate.
It's not carnivore type.
It's not carnivore. But we're gonna. We're gonna celebrate. Celebrate the video. And then we're gonna watch the video.
Together while we sit in traffic. Take hill time.
Yeah, Very romantic. Friday evening date. And then we wake up first thing in the morning and we go do another turn up in Canada, which this.
One'S only gonna be like less than an hour away from us.
It's not a turnaround. It's a business breakthrough for the location. Yeah, they're crushing it.
So is that all?
Got to take it to the next level, baby.
We've got Rebel. We've got them both, baby.
Get this and then the chocolate. Okay.
Get this and the chocolate.
Is that the move?
That's the move.
Cuz we want to eat both. That would be.
That would be bad gluttony, right?
We wouldn't do that.
No, no, we wouldn't do that.
We're on the hunt. Where's the release?
Oh.
We found it.
I found it. I found it.
The dark chocolate sea salt one is the absolute best. No contest.
A very healthy, very healthy dinner. Carnivore only salt and material. Do you guys use the walkers? Yeah, we actually just bought that in auction. We picked it up for cheap.
No one was expecting it.
Mike. Just like, whoosh. Gaynor, that'd be insane. This can't be how he's used by it. Do we need to bring up the fact that they had two businesses? Not in the intro. They kind of just muzzed the water, huh? To do this, they're going to have to simplify the structure of the business, find great general managers. And what was the second one cut out? Massive.
That mix.
Okay.
Congratulations, dude. I appreciate it. Good to see you, man. Thanks for coming out. Is this your place?
This is my beer.
And you know, it could be about 600k if we, you know, get a.
Bunch of these extra jobs.
So here on those three angles, the video right now, after the job, on the walkthrough and a month after our inspection. The inspection alone will help with just like quality control. Like people not complaining Right. Don't yell those loves you say. We're coming back when we train.
What you guys saw was a business breakthrough with the Delta Augusta owners.
So AC Canada.
That's right. Andrew and Matthew, how do you feel after that one?
Feel fantastic.
The first time I saw the breakthrough posters.
Yeah.
Those are so sick.
That was fun. 1. I love Canadians. Yeah. You know, they. They make a great addition to the United States. I'm just joking. It's just a.
Any final thoughts?
Final thoughts. They're gonna crush it.
Very good partnership with you.
I was just gonna say I'm so impressed with how well they work together.
Totally. And I'm sure there's like. Oh, there's always. You know, you butt heads a little bit when you're working together. But they do a great job.
Okay. Bottom line, they're gonna crush it.
Let's have a great Saturday. The sun is amazing.
Oh, my goodness. The weather is so beautiful. It was windy at the skate park, but now.
We should. Okay, plan after this and we drop the guys off, I need to pick up milk for your protein shakes.
Of course.
And kale.
Of course.
Priorities. And then we need to get our laptops. Oh, we're gonna run stairs and then run stairs.
Edit it up and then edit. I gotta edit my shorts with Karen the customer.
He used his wig for the first time last night. He put it on and I wasn't sure how I felt about it.
That's right.
That is the plan.
As long as we get stairs in.
Exactly. Okay. Just in case I don't vlog anything else. That is all.
