Short YouTube clip (by Mike Andes) recounting a customer whose front lawn was ruined after a car accident leaked transmission fluid/oil, killing the grass. The callers sought lawn-care help but were 30–40 miles outside the speaker's service area, prompting discussion about service boundaries and local competition between lawn companies.
It should be out there. We had an accident. Some guy ran over one of our trees, took it off at the ground. So we have, like, a root that needs to be removed. Pulled the car out of here, said that it. I said, what's that leaking out of it? And he said, that's transmission fluid, so your lawn's gonna die.
This customer, their whole front lawn was completely ruined because a car actually crashed and all the fluids and the oil burned and messed up their grass a lot. They called us. However, they were literally 30 to 40 miles outside of our service area. But they didn't understand the fact that just because we show up on Google, we show up online, doesn't mean necessarily we're going to service your.
Property people beyond.
I mean, you guys are probably better than the little drinky dink one that my my have here in nickels.
I. We probably. We probably are. But you got to understand, there's other lawn companies that have areas out where you live that we're not allowed to go and take customers from their area. It's like they're not allowed to come take customers from our area.
