A YouTube video (June 14, 2024) by Mike Andes (Augusta Lawn Care) documenting a site visit in Pittsburgh with small-business owner Jimmy Patterson. The video covers Jimmy's post-breakup struggles running a hydroseeding/landscaping business, emotional and financial strain, and plans to rebrand and get operations back on schedule; the hosts inspect Jimmy's improvised hydroseeder and discuss practical next steps.
Hey, everyone. My name is Mike Andes. I'm the founder of Augusta Lawn Care. We have over 150 locations around the world. Today we're in Pittsburgh working with Jimmy Patterson from a hydro seating business.
Not, you know, easy running a business and a lot of money going out and not enough coming in.
Last year, he was actually a full service landscape business, but he had a bad business breakup.
He just kind of said that everything was a little too stressful for him.
Let's get jobs on the schedule. Put the fire under your butt and be like, I must get this fixed.
And honestly, just mentally, it drained me. I took it out yesterday for the first time and had a terrible day, and it made. Made me want to quit my entire business.
So let's see if we can turn this thing around and get a rebrand done.
All right, so we showed up before Jimmy did. This must be the company from last year that he had before the big breakup. Truscate no longer here. But Jimmy's not here yet, so let's take a look around. I like the orange. Whoa. This is. Whoa. That's actually his hydro seeder. Check this out. It's like a jerry rigged fire truck turned into a massive hydro seeder.
