Short YouTube video/transcript (creator: Mike Andes, uploaded March 23, 2023) showing a phone/voice conversation where a customer reports receiving an email from "Augusta Lawn Care" saying the business was closing. Speakers confirm they did not plan to close and suspect a spam/phishing message. Mike Andes warns that competitors who obtain customer lists can spoof a business's name and tell customers the business has closed.

Are you guys closing?
Are we? Not that I know.
It had to have been a spam email that went out.
What did you receive?
I received an email last night from Augusta Lawn Care. Same email that you guys were closing and to all the customers. You guys wanted to reach out to them.
Okay, let me double check it.
I mean I wanted to let you guys know as well that that that email went out.
Yeah, I've got nothing coming up.
All right. Well, yeah, I just wanted to make sure. I didn't want it to be like a false email or anything, right?
No, no. And we do appreciate you calling in.
And be very careful with your customers data and information. A competitor, if they get your customer list could literally just put all their emails inside their database, change their from address to your business name and then tell your customers that you've closed down.
