Mike Andes delivers a short motivational message for entrepreneurs, using the metaphor “dig, build, bury” to describe the unseen foundational work required to grow a business. He emphasizes perseverance during early stages, notes foundations may take years (he gives a multi-year example), and stresses that visible success is built on buried effort others don’t see.

This message is for anyone that is building their business and feels like they're getting absolutely nowhere and they're taking one step forward, two steps back. And what I would say is you're probably in the phase of growing your business where you're actually building the foundation. And what's crazy about a foundation is you actually bury the foundation. You dig, you build, you bury. And I believe that can take five years to really make that happen. And what's insane, when you're building a building like our headquarter building takes three, three to four years to permit before we actually dig, build and bury the foundation. What's so important, though, is the years you're going through right now in the part of the business is the thing you're going to build the rest of the business on. And all the success that everyone sees is going to be foundationally built on what you're currently building that no one sees. And all the work and effort you put in, you build it and then you literally bury it and you never see it, but it's literally the thing that's going to be sustaining the success of the future.
