Short motivational talk by Mike Andes warning that skills and leadership must evolve as a business scales. He argues that employees who helped a business reach an initial revenue milestone (e.g., $1M) must update their skills to help reach higher targets (e.g., $10M or $100M), otherwise they may need to be replaced; similarly, owners who don’t update their skills risk stagnation or failure as top performers leave.

It's so easy to say that what got you to a million dollars in annual revenue won't get you to 10 million or 100 million. But the real life implications of that is that real good people that served the business well and did fantastic and awesome at their role but helped you go from zero to a million. If they don't update their skills, they'll have to be pushed out of the organization and someone else will have to replace them. If you're trying to go from a million to 10 million, it also means that you as a business owner if you don't update your skills, if you're not constantly improving and updating your skills, you also will either stagnate the business or cause it to fail. Why? Because if you're not growing the business, if it's not constantly improving and updating, your best team members will leave. In an organization where only static stasis employees stay and you as the leader of the organization are only in stasis, that company will eventually fall apart.
