The worst thing about owning a small business is having to fire people. It's never fun and we always try to make sure that we let the person go with as much dignity as possible and we don't embarrass them or make them look bad in front of the team. However, when they go online like this and leave a really bad online review, we have to respond and actually tell publicly why we let them go, usually to the employees face. What we'll typically tell them is they weren't a good fit and that their level of performance wasn't adequate enough to stay on the team. And that's after multiple instances of warning and making sure they have performance improvement plans to prevent them from being fired. If an employee has repeated no call, no shows and not communicating with their manager about why they need time off, or if they are letting their team down by being late and being lazy throughout the day and making the rest of the team pick up their slack, those are the major reasons why we always let people go very quickly.
