exhausted | $300k Business in 30 Days (25)

Mike Andes (creator) documents day 25 of a 30-day challenge to build a $300,000 lawn care business from scratch. He's in Augusta aiming for $1,500/day to hand operations to a general manager; on day 25 they have $1,200 revenue with equipment trouble (truck/suspension) and contingency plans (renting a Home Depot truck). The footage captures team interactions (Chandler), customer scope clarifications, mechanic estimates (~$1,200–$4,000 total repair), and notes on organic search ranking and bookings.

I'm traveling 3,000 miles across the country to build a $300,000 lawn care business in just 30 days. This Augusta lawn care location needs to be making $1,500 per day before I can hand it off to a general manager and go back home. I'm starting with no employees, no equipment, and no customers to prove that systems build great businesses.
Today is day 25 and honestly, I'm just tired and I want to go home. But today we do have $1200 of revenue on the books. We're making progress. It's simply going to come down to the fact that I don't think we can do much more than $1,200 per day with one truck. The game plan is to try my very best to either get P2 fixed or have an alternative game plan for next week so we can hit the fifteen hundred dollar per day goal.
These guys are doing a great job here at the gym facility.
Great work. Guys putting cobbles. They tear out all this old ivying undergrowth in the past few hours. Looks like it's been great. Great work.
One thing that is kind of interesting is we are ranked the number one when it comes to organic search. Already got seven reviews from customers, but ranking the number one towards organic. Obviously these ones are paid posts up here, but yeah, pretty happy with that. This is not good. It just started to rain. We cannot have rain right now. We need to finish this job. Everything's got pushed off already this week.
What's up? Okay. Good man.
How'd that machine work? The one with the disc?
That was great.
Really?
He used the majority of the time.
Do you think the. The triangular one would mulch it up?
No, we tried it.
Really? Yeah.
Yeah. Because a lot of it's like bamboo.
I know it's not like.
Really?
Yeah. See I. Yeah. There's no way. There's no way that. So he said it all grew up in the last few months. He said in the spring. There's no way that's like.
There's a year.
Like multi year bamboo.
I would say a year. Like it was the. It was like that thick of bamboo really. It got rid of the ivy around the tree and stuff too. If you can't tell.
That looks great. Like. So that one looks good. This one looks good. You still got the front ones. And then basically this. And then the mulch which the mulch will knock out pretty quick.
That's what I was telling him.
Yeah.
And even this, like once you put mulch over this, it's. It's fine. Right. It's gonna be that dude. That's what's gonna kill you.
What do you think about those two guys right there?
Is it mostly, like, knockdown stuff, you think?
I mean, it's a lot of knockdown stuff, but it's a lot of weeds as well.
Yeah.
We can use that circular saw, big stuff. And then weedy the little stuff down.
I feel like that bed would take longer. That wouldn't work over there.
Yeah.
Yeah. I thought we were. I didn't know we were taking all of that out. And when I talked to him, because I went knocking.
He's wanted everything. Yeah.
Before I started the project, I went and talked to him just to clarify some things, and he said he wanted.
It all gone, so. Yeah. Yeah. So I think it's just having an honest conversation. Like here. This usually we don't like the. Does not include the backyard. We've done a bunch of extra, you know, what do you want with this and what do you want with that? Right. I think he's just say, yeah, just tear out what you can to the front, weed, whack it down. It's obviously way better than it was. Right.
That's what I was saying.
So. Okay, cool. Great work, guys.
Appreciate you.
Good stuff. So it's what, 12? It's almost one. So you probably have at least another hour of cleanup and then mulch, and then you can talk to him to see where he's at. Right.
So, I mean.
Yeah. Okay, cool.
Cool.
All right, I'm gonna go check on pt. Let's hope and pray it's not open heart surgery needed. So. No, it looks great, guys. Looks great.
Okay, so we're back at the.
Mechanic. First thing I noticed, not sitting there. It's on the stilts. That is a very good sign. So let's go inside and see what's the damage. No pun intended.
The whole thing is, like, pushed back all the way. It's not even. My guy was even scared to go take it for a drive, but. Yeah.
Okay.
So as soon as I get a price or not, I'll call you. Probably within an hour.
I really appreciate it. Yeah. Thank you so much.
You're welcome.
I'd say go ahead and just do it. I trust you, so just go. Go for it.
Yeah, I'll look it up to see if the only thing is finding it fast, because today's Friday already. And if I can find it.
I'll.
Try to get it done. Maybe by tomorrow. If not, it'll be till Monday or so. Yeah.
Hear that?
He just Said he said that he might have it done tomorrow. Now the chance of that, no betting man, but I would put my money on the fact that it's not gonna get done tomorrow.
But we always want to keep hopes alive.
But I need to have a second strategy in place just in case. We'll see.
Just in case our mechanic doesn't get the truck done tomorrow and we need a backup plan for Monday, we're going to make sure that we get the truck reserved here at the Home Depot. All right, this is the load limit. Now this could be factually incorrect if you are less than 200 pounds because they assume if you have a second occupant, your load capacity goes down £200. Technically we get £50 extra time in the vehicle versus their person.
Hi. How's it going? Good man. I'm just looking to see if I can rent a the pickup truck for Monday through Wednesday afternoon.
You could deserve it online. Oh, I can. Cool. All right. I was making sure it wasn't booked or anything. No. Okay, awesome. And what's the cost on that? So it's 150 deposit, but since you're using it for like Monday through Wednesday. Yep. It be like two days. Okay. We're not primed to help you out.
No one wanted to help you.
Here, let me, let me get this online for you. Oh no, we can't do that. Oh, you in person. No, can't do that. Just call like the date you before. But what if someone else deserves it? There's only one here. Chandler's. Give me Paul. Hey, Chandler.
I got it. I got it situated, my man.
Okay, cool. You need anything for me? Good.
I think that's it. I'm going to get him another. I'm going send a video estimate of the back beds. We're not going to get to him today. I guess he thought that they were included because I talked to him, but obviously they're not cuz we get like you, we can only see the front.
So.
Yeah, but was he happy enough since we at least did some of them?
Yeah. Yeah. So apparently we weren't even supposed to do that. What was behind the fence today? He said that wasn't supposed to happen until next week.
Yeah, no, it was scheduled for this week. Today.
Okay. Well, he was, he was saying I. I saw where it was scheduled today, but he was saying how it was only supposed to be for next week. But.
But yeah, he's. He's happy with the work.
That's.
We'll give them a good deal on that. Other Part, but, yeah, that'd be great. If you want to send that video over. And then we can get that other estimate out to them. Yeah, so the customer somehow thought that, like, the backyard beds were included. So it's not. It doesn't seem like it's too much, though, in terms of extra work. So we'll see if maybe we just throw it in. But it's probably at least two hours.
Worth of extra work, so we'll see.
Chandler will submit a video. We'll give the customer another estimate, and we'll go from there.
Hi, this is Michael, and he's with the Augusta lawn care truck. They said he'd give you a call.
Oh, yeah, Yeah. I was calling to tell you I ordered a piece, but.
Nobody in town had it. So the guy told me that if we put in the order, but it'll be. You don't think I'll see it Monday? It's probably Tuesday before I see it in the morning. But let me tell you what. If this is everything we need to do. To get it running and working right, with tax and everything, $1171,170 for the whole suspension and everything. I think that's everything we'll need.
If there's anything else, probably minor stuff, But I think that's all we need.
Okay, awesome. Yeah, let's go ahead and get that knocked out. And then do you feel like, besides the auto body side of things, that would take care of, like, the actual, like, suspension and everything in there would be fine.
The suspension stuff, that's going to be taken care of. But now your body work thing.
I don't know if you have any body shot, But I can recommend it to one guy that might be able to do it. But I don't know how fast you can get it done.
1200, not so bad. If we paint this out, we probably do 1200 for the suspension and fixing all of that. And then let's just call it a couple thousand dollars, probably for a new bumper, lights, and probably that quarter panel and then painting it. So probably all in all, like, conservatively $4,000, I'm thinking to fix the whole thing a little bit. A lot. A little bit of A lot to spend on a truck that is 10 years old. However, you're not getting a truck right now for anything less than 15 grand. So we'll just get it done. And hopefully within a couple weeks, we'll get one up and running. For Chandler to be able to use Once he gets back from training.
So we used the scarcity clothes sold two jobs, one of which came in right after the other. I was like, oh, sorry. Actually, that day I told you, we can get you on. It already got booked. And it. Sure it had. However, then there's a third person that had a question about their estimate and asked if they could get on the schedule. And previously, we had told them they'd be able to get on next week, but not no more. You wait too long, you get pushed off. And so when you actually have momentum like that and jobs are getting scheduled, people are like, oh, I've got a schedule. The schedule is booking out. It's like a feeding frenzy. It's very good.
